The Phantom strayed from his typical forest dwelling. It was a grey day and the sun did not shine through the clouds. He enjoyed days like these, no other Azrein pestering him and certainly no humans walking through the forest ruining everything they touched. He stretched and shook the dew from his coat as he walked along a small lake. He was humming to himself quietly, pondering what life would be like without his children. Would it be more peaceful? Perhaps, but it might be boring too. He reached up and nicked an apple from a nearby tree and munched it. The late apples were the sourest but they were pretty good right now. Better than trying to forage for greens that weren't there. He sighed and laid down, his cape floating softly around him.

Aradia Nightmoon stretched and stood up letting her horn brush against afew branches. She giggled as the water fell down and landed on her coat. She shook her fur to get most of the water off of her. She decided to go for a walk in her forest. She wondered what her siblings were doing today and if anything new or exciting had happened to them. Did they have foals of their own? Or mates. She mused and daydreamed a bit about what wonderful things could be happening to her family. She swished her tail back and forth and smiled as the beads in her hair swung back and forth. Making a soft musical sound. She loved that about the beads they made such nice sounds making her feel safe. Her one light hoof splashed in a puddled and she continued to walk. She heard a sound and went towards it. She saw the apple trees she liked to sit under in the summer and relax in their shade. It was a nice grey day and she enjoyed the cool air. She caught sight of a swish of fabric and turned her head. Oh it was a Stallion. She watched him and wondered what he was like and what his name was. He was very handsome but she didn't want to bother him. He looked so peaceful.

The Phantom sighed feeling the presence of another Azrein. He stood up quickly and turned towards the mare, quickly hiding the masked side of his face. He stood in an aggressive position and snorted at her. "Why have you come here?" he asked, his voice curious. Perhaps she had just happened upon him accidentally. Unfortunately he did not have a hiding spot anymore. His children had made sure of that. Sure he had left their mother, but he had warned her that he wasn't there to stay. The Phantom smiled as he thought of their time together, and his enjoyment of her. He began to walk slowly around the mare, getting a good look at her. His scrupulous eyes sizing her up and taking in her beauty.

Aradia watched as the stallion sighed and seemed to sense she was watching him. She stood her ground as he had the aggressive stance. She wouldn't back down or let him intimidate her. She tilted her head as he hid something from her. What was he hiding on his face? She grinned at the snort and aggressive stance. It was cute. She frowned at his question. "I live near here so I was going for a walk like I usually do. Why have you come here?" She was just as curious as he was. She wondered what was this Stallion's name and story. She held her head up high as he walked around her. Letting her tail swish back and forth as she stood proud. She took him in as he inspected her. He was handsome and his cloak was so pretty. She wondered what he thought of her. Did he think her pretty or plain?

The Phantom stopped, having made a full circle around the mare. He nodded slightly in approval. "I live in the forest. Unfortunately my ungrateful children managed to destroy my hide out. I don't suffer visitors well." he spoke honestly, his low seductive voice carrying through the clearing. He took a few steps forward before he spoke again though he phrased it as a question it was more of a demand "What are you called, child?" He stopped in front of her, his blue eyes meeting her pale purple eyes. He focused hard, dragging her into a slight trance. He did not worry about hiding his mask as he knew she would see it at some point. She was not one to worry about, she seemed too sweet to be a threat. Perhaps she could be fun.

Aradia watched as he stopped when he had made a full circle of her. She smirked as he nodded. She hoped that was a nod of approval but she didn't know him well enough for her to let it effect her too much if he didn't. She frowned as he spoke of his children. "Oh I am sorry your little ones destroyed your hide out. Why did they do that?" She shivered at his low seductive tone. It was odd no one had used that kind of a tone with her before. She liked it though it made her feel a bit special. She shook herself internally no she didn't know this guy what if he was a bad guy and would hurt her. She needed to keep her whits about her no matter how hot he looked. When she refocused on him he was closer to her than he had been. It startled her but she didn't let it show. She huffed at the demand question and being called little one. "My name is Aradia Nightmoon. And what do they call you?" SHe held up her head high and looked him right in the eyes. Looking into his blue eyes her pale purple ones flashing. She looked into his eyes and got lulled a bit but her curiosity about his mask was very strong. How had he gotten that? What did he do?

He smiled, noticing that he did in fact have an effect on her. That's good to know he thought to himself. "My children are petulant and side with their mother. I apparently ruined her life" he said, though his tone was flippant. It was clear he didn't care about the mare that mothered his children and seemed he hated his own children almost as much. He flared his nostrils at Aradia's arrogance, though he liked a little fire in his girls. "Hello Aradia, it is a pleasure to meet you" he said and bowed his head slightly towards her. "I no longer have a name, but they call me The Phantom" he answered. "I enjoy the fire in your eyes, it almost seems a challenge" he added with an evil grin. Suddenly he became aware that she was staring at his mask. He took a few steps back and turned so that it was no longer in sight. No matter how long he had had the mask it was still a constant reminder that he was a monster.

Aradia saw him smiled and frowned hoping he hadn't noticed he had an effect on her. She didn't want this odd stallion to know he effected her. She was sad when he spoke about his kinds and the mare who had them with him. She wondered how he had ruined the girl's life or if the mare was just exaggerating. "I am sorry that happened to you. It sounds hard." His tone was so flippant and conveyed how little he cared for the mare and the children. She watched his nostrils flare as she held her head up and had the fire in her eyes. She nodded as he said it was a pleasure to meet her. She smiled as he bowed his head. "It is a pleasure to meet Phantom. Why are you called that?" She blushed when he spoke about the fire in her eyes. "Maybe it is a challenge. Was there an offered one in your words?" She bowed her head when he turned his head away and stepped back. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare at your mask. It's just I find it fascinating and pretty. Or I guess pretty isn't right since you are a stallion. So I suppose handsome would be the better word. If you don't mind my asking how did you get it?" She was mad at herself for being rude usually she wasn't and staring was rude. It seemed to have upset him.

"Don't be sorry. I guess that's my lot in life" he said and tossed his head, causing his dark mane to readjust on his neck. "I am called that because that is what I am. I am not a stallion, but the ghost of one. I move in the mists of the forest, to cloak my presence. I haunt this forest" he replied taking another stroll around the mare. "I look forward to rising to your challenge then Aradia" he said as he passed around her rear and snorted loudly letting her know that he was taking in her scent. When he stopped and she began to ask about the mask his ears pinned back and immediately he became defensive and angry. "It is not pretty or handsome" he hissed "It is a constant reminder that I am a monster. A monster not even a mother could love" His whole demeanor changed as he seethed with rage. His nostrils flared again and he walked purposefully towards the mare. He was confident and aggressive as he slowly encroached in her personal space.

Aradia smiled at him as he spoke. Well he seemed the take his life well but part of her wished she could do something to help him out. Though he seemed like the type that wouldn't let others help him. She watched his mane fall around his neck it caught her attention and she wondered if it was soft. She shook her mane and smiled as the beads clinked together. She was shocked by his words. "A ghost? But you seem solid like a stallion." She blushed and bit her lip. "How long have you haunted this forest then Phantom?" She stood still as he strolled around her and chuckled. "You do Phantom? Do you think you are up to my challenge?" She teased him and batted her lashes. She smiled as he took in her scent. She wasn't sure why he was it was an odd reaction in her opinion but she didn't know anything about him. She froze for a moment as his ears were pinned back and he got angry as she mentioned his masks. She had been trying to give him a compliment but it seemed to have made him even more mad. She stood her ground and held her head up high as he advanced on her. She watched him encroach on her space and looked up into his eyes not taking a step back. "I don't think you are a monster Phantom. I don't know anything about your mask but it is handsome." She had that spark in her eyes again and debated about resting her nose against his neck and find out how soft his mane really was.

The Phantom snorted in her face and moved slowly towards her neck. He whispered softly in her ear "Make no mistake. I am flesh and blood and I am fully capable of all physical aspects of life." his voice intimidatingly low. He nipped her chest and took a step back, observing her. She had not backed up, as he had hoped. So far it seemed he could not intimidate her. I'll just have to try harder he thought to himself as he took a deep breath and stepped forward again. His face was only inches from hers, he wanted her to step back. She should be afraid of him.

Aradia looked at him when he snorted and relaxed as it seemed he wasn't as angry any more. She stayed where she was and shivered as he whispered in her ear. "Oh all of them Phantom? Are good at them all too?" Sh teased and smiled not being intimidated at all. She jumped when he hipped her chest and then stepped back. But she stayed in her spot watching him waiting. Seeing him take a deep breath she wondered what his next move would be. When he stepped forward again she staid where she was. She would not be intimidated by him. She looked at him as his face was so close. My turn to invade his space. Two can play at this game. She did the opposite of what he seemed to want. She took a small step forward and rested her nose against his neck and felt just how soft his mane was. Then she gently nipped it.

The Phantom's nostrils flared when she did not move. Petulant child. She does not know when she is in danger he thought to himself as his eyes began to glow with rage. When she moved closer he raised his head, not wanting to be touched. He froze as her nose made contact with his neck and mane. He shook trying to get the feeling of her touch out of his mind. "You clearly do not care for your life" he said darkly and pointed his ears towards her. "Do you wish to fall into my control?" he asked as he cocked his head to one side. He honestly was getting tired of beings not respecting him for the danger he was. He locked eyes with her, lulling her into a trance. "It is dangerous to trust me" he spoke softly but his voice reached her unhindered, all the promise and warning piercing into her.

Aradia watched his nostrils glare as she didn't move back. She looked into his glowing blue eyes. They were so pretty but she couldn't understand why he was so angry. Just because she wouldn't be a coward and step back? She smirked as she got him to move when she moved forward. His mane was so soft. She wanted to do that again. But when he shook she thought better of it. She frowned and shook her head. "I do care for my own life. But if you wanted to hurt me moving away would do me no good. You'd just catch me and if you are trying to intimidate me then stepping back would show I was. So there is no point for me to move away." She shook her head when he spoke. "I don't like being controlled. I have my own mind and thus will stay under my own control. Do you want me under your control? Sounds like it would be no fun." She smiled. "I know you are dangerous. Doesn't mean I need to be afraid of you." She let him hold her gaze and frowned at him. She relaxed as he spoke. "Oh and why is that Phantom? And who said I did trust you." She spoke just as softly. Hearing the promise and threat in his words. She took a step closer.

The Phantom smirked, her intelligence was something to behold. He was enjoying her company more even if she wasn't falling so easily into his trap. "Good point, well put Aradia" he replied and bowed his head slightly. "Why is it dangerous to trust me?" he asked, and smirked. He moved close to her and whispered "I am not a safe stallion. I have done some awful things and I enjoy young things like you" He stepped back and moved to the apple tree. He plucked an apple and tossed it Aradia's way and picked one for himself. He munched it happily and moved towards the lake for a drink. Fog began to roll in from the lake and he snorted as it reached the shore. "Welcome to my forest, Aradia" he said softly as he backed into the fog hoping she would follow him.
