Violetta Webs was not a dumb girl... it would be more appropriate to call her misinformed. In theory she was only very young, much younger than her body would suggest - as she had not been an inhabitant of Halloween for very long. In this time she had to relearn everything she had once known in her previous life and obviously some lessons took priority over others. Swimming did not even make it onto her list, nor had she given the sport any thought at all until she found a poster advertising the swimming team.
Hovering a couple inches of the ground the white haired ghoul made her way to the pool area. The mass of water that presented itself was just how she envisioned it... but she could not help feel a little... uneasy. She made her way to the side of the pool, her long skirt floating behind her as light as air. Most people would have realized by now that she was too conservatively dressed for the occasion, but she was blissfully unaware of this fact at the present moment in time.
Totally unaware of the other creatures that may, or may not, have been around, Violetta knelled at the poolside, eyes fixed on the alien substance infront of her. Exploration was a name of the game and without a second thought she reached out and pushed her hand into the water only to notice... no change at all. Violetta preferred staying in a nonphysical state, void of senses and feeling. Her hand entered the water without creating ripples. A small pout formed on her lips, This seemed - anticlimactic.
A quick look left and a quick look right,,, nobody. The lilac eyed ghost straightened up and took a step forward, standing on the waters surface, she looked down at the fluid under her feet and her own reflection staring back at her. Clearly she was doing something wrong... Maybe this was a sport only the tangible could enjoy? and unfortunately she was not yet brave enough to take her physical form outside the privacy of her dorm.
Touching things. Yuck.

Towel draped over his shoulder one very shirtless Mahamba entered the pool area. It had been a flyer too that had brought him here, one for a swim team that he might be inclined to join, however the mere though of 'team' and routine practices bugged him. As he peered around for an open spot to swim he caught sight of a familiar ghost ghoul. Zaire slowly swayed closer to the pool, silent in his advance and watching as said ghoul dipped a hand into the water with a less than impressed expression.
Ghouls were strange.
She wasn't even dresses appropriate he mused to himself as a small smile stretched his lips. Watching as she glided out over the top of the water it hit him, she wasn't tangible. The thought provoked a call from him, along with a few steps in her direction, " don't you know...swimming is only enjoyable if you can touch the water..." Grinning slightly he dropped his towel to the ground and dove gracefully into the water, breaking the surface with minimal disruption.
Enjoying the feel of the water against his scales, Zaire gave a flip underwater before surfacing once more. On a slide of hand he pulled some slick hair back and behind his ears before once more looking towards the ghoul. Swimming back to her, though still a bit away he inquired curiously, "....your names...Violetta right?" He was certain she was the ghoul that sat by him in a few classes, the one that seemed to relish silence as much as him.

Violetta looked over her shoulder with her usual unamused expression, just in time to see the waters surface break. Instinctively she put her hands in front of her to shield herself, but the water went straight through her. Then the boil came to the surface, she also recognized him from class… but he was different. Physical beings, their constant change of attire still threw her off from time to time. She had been wearing the same dress since she awoke in Halloween and it had done right by her so far. “Zaire… You look different. What happened to your clothes? Did you and them disagree, or something like that?” She asked, once again looking down at the water.
“Oh. I see.” Violetta lifted her legs to cross them, her hands resting on her knees and her skirt lazily floating on the surface of the liquid. “That is a shame.” Violetta had this thing with… touching things. Some ghosts loved to stay in their more physical form, alas that was not her.
Her fingers tapped against her knees in a rhythmic manner, she was thinking, still curious…. and very confused. “Enjoyable… I…. Explain this activity, I do not understand.” It was a demand, but her tone was anything but threatening, some might even say she sounded playful.

“...No...this is just normal for swimming.” Zaire replied simply, slowly for the ghoul since he realized that ghost had different ways of thinking than most creatures in Halloween. Strange things they were, Ghost, at least to him. Lazily he moved his arms and legs in the water to keep afloat, watching her with no real indication he was amused or put off.
Nearly about to swim away from her to enjoy himself the monster paused at the demand. Explain swimming? Zarie's expressionless features changed for a brief moment to a look of confusion before falling back into a rather blank look. “Ok.” Giving in since it wasn't a particularly difficult request the Mahamba nodded. On a stretch back, he lazily floated on his back in the water. "Mmm..." Letting his hands float freely at his side, his fingers flexed against the cool feeling of the water. "It just feels nice? Peaceful..hmm.." Pale glowing eyes flickered to the ghoul before he snorted a little roughly, "it's something better experienced I guess..?" Zaire blinked his eyes shut after speaking, wondering if he had understood her request plainly or not, but beyond that single thought much more wasn't given.
