The forest seemed to be more alive then ever at the moment, with the sounds of maglardilla of all sizes and ages making quite the racket in all directions. It seemed that they were riled up about something... but who could blame them? Under the din of all of their chittering was another sound, a strange sound, one that seemed to be a really strange mix between a screech and a roar, the sound of an animal that was in no mood to be dealing with a bunch of loud mouth bugs... or really anything else if it's tone were to be believed. The strange roaring was unlike anything that had been heard in the area before, a voice of a beast that didn't belong in Jauhar and yet there it was.
The bugs weren't the only thing gathering, there were other creatures starting to encroach on where the strange roar was coming from, the sorts that tended to show up when something was going to die. They were patient creatures, ready to just hang out and wait for their chance at a free meal. Last but not least were a few of Jauhar's less intelligent beasts, that being the spitorog who tended to just show up wherever they would be most in the way... that or maybe the noise had attracted them. They weren't exactly smart enough to avoid dangerous places instead happily heading right into said danger, blowing bubbles all the way.
So many gathered because of that odd roaring when it came to the animals of the forest but would the roars attract anything more intelligent, that was the question. Or would it be more likely to cause people to flee given that the creature didn't sound all that friendly or happy.

As she did most days now Lasarra was walking thorough the forest with Izsha at her side. After being cooped up for so long when her leg was injured Lasarra spent all the time she could outside.
Walking around she noticed that more animals were out than normal. Smiling she commanded Izsha to stay close as she walked around. All of a sudded she heard a sound she had never heard before, it was a roar but at the same time it sounded as if it was in pain and not just challenging the animals around it. With an raised eyebrow she wasn't exactly sure what to do. Should she keep going, try to find out what this creature was, or should she turned back.
She knew that Kelina would want her to go back, but Kelina didn't understand how much she cared about the animals. Sure she wanted to tame them all, but it was more than just that. She cared about the animals, she wanted to find out about them so she could better take care of them. Since she had never heard this particular sound before Lasarra decided that she would go towards it. Hell, if it hurt her than well that's nothing she hadn't been through before.

The creature that was currently making such a racket was most certainly not supposed to be here. No; weywa were something that lived in a distant land, but there were always those that thought anything was a possible pet... the problem being that weywa weren't meant to be pets, not given how big they got! The thing was nearly as wide as it was tall, and height wise the creature would likely tower over an Alkidike woman were it standing on it's hind legs. Not that it was able to do such a thing in it's current predicament. No, the hulking white beast was trapped, looking as though it had gotten itself caught when some trees toppled over. What it was doing to end up in such a situation was anyone's guess but here it was, trapped, and for who knew how long before it started to kick up such a fuss.
The ground in front of it was torn up, as if the creature had been trying to drag itself out using those large, curved claws, of which it had four on each foot. On top of that the trees themselves looked savaged, as though the large creature had chewed on them at some point with its sharp teeth. All that any of its struggles seemed to accomplish though was to tear up the ground in front of it, bloody it's mouth, and exhaust it a bit. If it kept it up it was going to wear itself out completely and then it would be easy prey for the various creatures that were gathering... and it didn't help that it was bleeding.
In all likelihood it was probably scent of blood that had drawn the scavengers in, blood often equaled food after all. The weywa's small, beady eyes narrowed a little as a spitorog got closer, it's large ears twitching, before he gave another screeching sound and snapped at the frog. The amphibian was just out reach though and it's response was to blink one eye at the weywa, the other seeming to almost me starring of into space in another direction. If it got much closer it might end up weywa food... not that chewing on one of the prickly frogs would do the poor creature any good. If anything it would likely make things worse, spitorog were not good eating.

As she got closer she became more and more worried about what it could be. She hadn't heard anything even close to the sound that this animal was making. Finally Izsha started to growl and Lasarra told her to stay put as she climbed a tree to try and get a better view before she was close enough to get hurt.
It took a while but when she got to the top of the tree she was in Lasarra's eyes went wide. She had never seen a Weywa before and she was in awe. She was pretty sure that a creature like that was not meant to be in the forest, personally she wasn't even sure if it should have been transported anywhere. Seeing the fact that it was bleeding and trapped by trees she wasn't sure what to do. If it couldn't get it's self out of the trap than she was pretty sure her own strength couldn't also. She could go and get help from Shifters near by, but at the same time they could want to kill the creature which she wouldn't stand for.
One thing was sure, the weywa was trapped and wasn't getting out by itself. She climbed down and moved closer, into the weywa's view. "Hello there, I'm Lasarra I don't mean you any harm." she said softly with her hands out in front of her. It worked well with humans and some animals so she hoped it would work with this one.

The weywa gave pause in its attempts to eat the spitorog when it seemed to realize that more then just animals were about now. It's tall, leathery ears gave a twitch before it turned its attention toward the one that was standing there best it could. After a long, drawn out moment of squinting it gave another of those more high pitched sound, followed by its ears twitching again. It was sizing her up using echolocation, its little eyes seemingly not all that good in comparison being that it would have been a cave dweller back home. It's eyes weren't the best but it seemed to be compensating for that, using its ability to better understand the one that was standing there before it.
After what seemed an eternity of sizing up Lasarra it gave another rumbling growl, this one still a warning, but strangely it didn't seem as upset over her presence as it did other animals for some reason. Sure, it was still riled up due to its situation, being tangled up like this was never a good thing, but at least it wasn't snapping at her as it had been the frog. It indicated that it may very well have dealt with humanoids in the past though that clearly wouldn't give Lasarra a free pass or anything. Especially given the way that it teeth were barred, it's body tense, and its throat throat was still emitting growls. It was displeased with her presence, sure, but at least it was touch less forgiving with her then it had been with the spitorog that seemed to be mocking it.
Of course the moment of almost calm was broken when the amphibian gave a croaking sound and the weywa returning to clawing at the ground and snapping at the brainless frog.

When the animal paused she didn't move, she was ready to flee to safe ground if need be but also ready to stand her ground. The high pitched noise hurt her ears and she winced slightly. It seemed like she was standing there forever before the beast made another noice, this time a growl. She smiled, well at least it wasn't trying to eat her. That was a good sign.
She was looking around to asses the damagage when the spitorog croaked and the great beast went off again. Lasarra frowned. All that thrashing around could possible make things worse, both harder to get the weywa out of the trap it was in and possible hurt the weywa. She moved back to where Izsha was and commanded Izsha to get the animals away from the weywa if she could, to heard them away as she would the other animals that Lasarra had at home. Though Lasarra made it clear that Izsha wasn't to get close to the weyra itself. She would not have her constant companion hurt.
She went back to the weywa's view and looked at the trees once again. She would have thought that digging was the answer, however the beast had been digging and nothing good had come of it. Also it looked as if the creature had been chewing the trees, but that just left with with a bloody mouth. "I'm going to get closer. To see if I can help." she said softly, assuming what she hoped would be a nonthreatening posture. If it made any move to hurt her she would back off, but if it didn't she was determined to help it.

When Lasarra's pet saw to it that the other animals, most importantly the spitorog and those hovering carrion eaters, were chased off the weywa seemed to settle down once more. Instead of having to try to fight against a mass of animals that were out to get it the creature merely had one thing to focus on, that being Lasarra herself. Its full attention soon settled on her and her alone, watching her best it could with it's dark, beady eyes, tracking her with its echolocation. As she spoke it cocked its head to one side, one ear giving a flick, before it seemed to just be waiting. She was getting closer and closer meaning that it could attempt an attack at any time but thus far no attack was forth coming.
It would seem with the other animals gone that the weywa was at least a touch more open to the idea of allowing the girl to help it out of its rather unfortunate situation. In fact at the moment it wasn't even growling, instead just squinting at her, awaiting her next move.

Okay this was good, really good. Now that Izsha had taken care of all the other animals the beast seemed to calm down. Lasarra wasn't sure if it was just the fact that the animals were gone or that she was talking to the beast that made it calm down. "How did you get into this mess..." she asked as she neared one of the fallen trees. She had guessed that this wasn't a man made trap, but she couldn't be sure. She had seen a few traps with Ray when they first met, but none of them were like this. However that didn't mean it wasn't man made.
At the base of one of the trees she was surprised that the beast hadn't moved it, it looked to be barely still there. With further inspection it seemed as if the trap was actually man made! At the base of the tree there were what looked like knives holding the tree in place? She wasn't really sure though. Kneeling down Lasarra started trying to pull them out, maybe than the beast could free itself.

The question posed to the beast by Lasarra was met with a rumbling sound and its ears laying back, as though the creature were displeased with being asked such a thing by its would be savior. While it might be going too far to say the creature was smart enough to understand exactly what was being said to it by Lasarra it did seem to at least infer what she was doing when set to inspecting where it was being held. It was likely due to the fact that she seemed to just be looking the situation over and not looking to take advantage as the scavenger animals might that helped keep the trapped beast calm. Sure, its muscles were tense and its beady little eyes seemed to be following her around, but it wasn't squirming around at least. The weywa wanted out after all and this girl was likely the only one that was going to help it.
Even the trap itself didn't hold out a whole lot of hope, at least on the side of the weywa, it was a simple enough one. The heavy branches were gathered, planted in the ground to look like real trees, stuck there firmly with the knives and some rope, then likely pull back to leave the opening for prey to walk in. It was likely that when the weywa walked through that it hit some sort of mechanism causing the rope holding the branches back to be released, allowing for them to then snap forward and pinning the big creature. It was an effective enough way to catch bigger prey without the usual risks that came with such a beast. Good for the hunters but most certainly bad for the weywa.
The knives, when pulled on, would start to come free with with a little effort, each of them was shiny and new meaning the trap hadn't been in place all that long ago.

After taking the first knife out and realizing how fresh and new it was Lasarra wasted no time pulling the rest of them out, and than hurried to the other trees to see if she could pull those out as well. Those knives weren't dirty enough to have been there a long time, and they looked like they were made for this purpose. She was pulling them out as fast as she could and looking around. She was worried that whoever had made this trap would be back soon to check on it. She didn't want to get hurt herself, or have the creature or Izsha get hurt.
After a little she was pretty sure that all the knives were out. Maybe that meant that the creature would be able to get free. "Try to get out now." she said as she moved away to a safer distance. She wasn't sure if it would understand her, but if it moved some and the whole trap didn't let it free she would have to go back to step one and try to find another way to get it free.

The weywa grumbled from time to time as each of the weapons was pulled free from the ground, able to feel it as the strength of the trap started to slowly give way. Each knife that the helpful girl removed was one step closer to freedom. As it got closer and closer the beast started to squirm once more, seeming to be more then eager to get free once more. It had been trapped for far too long in its mind... and the moment the last of the knives was removed and Lasarra gave the word, it was lunging forward once more. The difference between this time and last time though was that the branches gave way and the beast was able to easily get free of them.
The moment it was free the massive creature was pushing up onto its back legs, its forefeet raising into its most intimidating stance, before it gave a loud roar, effectively chasing off the scavengers that had been waiting so eagerly for it to die. It was then lowering itself back to all fours with a... jingle? Now that the creature was free Lasarra might notice that there around its back ankles were jingling bracelets, it also had faded dye markings on its flanks. It made it look less like a feral animal and more like one that had once belonged to someone but had perhaps gotten itself lost?
It would likely raise far more questions then it answered but at least Lasarra would have at least an idea as to why the creature was so far from where its species were known to live.

Lasarra clapped her hands together in happiness as the beast became free. She did it! Smiling her face fell when she heard a jingle. At once she assumed that someone was coming to kill the beast but after looking around it became obvious that other than this beast there was no one else around. Confused Lasarra looked back at the beast and realized that there were what looked like bracelets on it's ankles? It also appeared to have dye marks on it's flanks? So this was no wild beast, this was someones beloved companion! Anger flashed across her face, both at whoever trapped the beast and also at the owner who lost it. To lose a beast this big was pure negligence.
Although the roar had been a most terrifying one Lasarra decided again that she would approach it. She had to get it back to it's owner, even if said owner wasn't responsible enough to keep it safe. Once she found the owner she would give him or her a stern talking on the responsibilities of owning such a creature.
"I wonder what they call you." she said calmly as she approached the beast with one hand out. "I think I'll call you Snow for now. How did you get all the way out here Snow?" she mused, talking more to herself than anything else.

The weywa turned toward Lasarra once more, giving another of its high pitched sounds, ears twitching at the reverberations it got back. It then gave a little grunt before walking over toward Lasarra. It would appear that for the moment that despite its great size and dangerous attributes such as those sharp claws and teeth, the weywa was feeling quite amiable. Lasarra had saved its hide from certain death after all, what better way to win a creature over. Its ears twitched a couple times before it set to using its echolocation on things in the area, as though trying to orientate itself to the things that it hadn't really been able to see from its position pinned by the trap. Without the trap and without the threat of being chewed up by the scavengers it didn't seem as though it really had any desire to rampage either. No more snarling, no more snapping, just a big, content weywa that was more then happy to tromp over toward Lasarra as she chatted at it.
It even seemed to plop down for a moment, sitting in front of her, before scratching at one of its big ears with its back foot, causing its anklet to jingle once more. It was as the accessory set to jingling so close to its ear that the creature seemed to give pause. He turned to look at the item, squinting at it, before giving a rumbling sound like a purr. Obviously the anklet seemed to be associated with only good things in its memory.
The weywa, currently dubbed Snow, lifted its head in the air, sniffing at it. The creature seemed to freeze in place for a moment, sniffed again, then gave a rumbling growl. Something was approaching that it didn't really like the scent of, the same scent that was on those knives, and it was eager to be on its way. The creature stepped closer to Lasarra, giving her a nudge with its large head, before it started to move away from bad smell. Time to get going, far from where the now disassembled trap stood.

Although at first the high pitched sounds kind of bothered Lasarra, she was getting use to the noise and didn't mind it. It came closer to her and she reached out to touch it happily. It's fur was so nice, even though he had been imprisoned for so long. Personally she wanted to just take the animal back to her home and beg her sister to let her keep it. Sure it was huge, but it was obviously someone's pet.
As the beast started to purr her want to keep it became even more. However the beast obviously loved it's owner. She wasn't that selfish, right? Before she could think more on the subject the beast seemed to smell the air. That was different. It nudged her and started to walk away, Lasarra motioned for Izsha to follow her before she started to follow the beast. Maybe it was going back to its owner? That would mean that she wouldn't be able to keep it, but at least she would get to lecture it's owner on how to care for it.

The weywa didn't seem to pick up speed in the way it was walking, seemingly happy enough with just sort of meandering forward, chirping all the while so that it could easily weave its way between the trees. From the way that it was avoiding the bases of the trees it would appear as though it had become wary of them, not wanting to get trapped again. It was a simple enough creature that it seemed to think that so long as it stayed away from the bases of the trees then it would be alright. Turning its head to the side it would appear that Snow had realized that Lasarra was still following, something it didn't seem to mind, instead giving a rumbling purr. Lasarra was elevated in the mind of the weywa, which made it so that she was a welcome travel companion.
It was just turning forward again when an arrow landed just in front of it, the archer seemingly not having the best aim, but at least that saved the weywa from harm. The creature leaned in to sniff at the arrow before barring its teeth, giving a rumbling growl, before glancing from side to side, giving various high pitched sounds, trying to figure out where the arrow had come from.
It wouldn't have to look long, not because it was able to spot it right away but because the hunter, a Shifter, likely one that had just gotten his weapon and rank given his terrible aim, yelled down at Lasarra from his perch in the trees, "Hey! You! Thief-girl! That is my prey!" He didn't seem at all amused by the fact that she'd broken the creature out of the trap he'd build and was now trying to steal what rightfully his. Drawing another arrow from his quiver he lifted his weapon and said, "That white beast is mine!" He'd never seen anything like it before, it had to be some sort of strange spirit beast, and he would be taking its hide back home!
