I wanted to know how people feel about his death. Last night, after screaming at my screen I started to really think if Kevin's death was necessary. I am not going to lie, I am still more than a little shaken up, and at first I really felt that they killed him off for no reason at all, but now I think his death might not have been in vain. Dean is hard headed and stubborn to a level that is almost unbelievable and I think Kevin's death will serve as a important lesson to him. He will see that his codependency is not just effecting himself and Sam anymore, it is coming at an insanely high price, the price of others life's. Others have always been effected but Dean never really saw it. He was either never around or so wrapped up in everything else going on he could not see it. Being forced to watch Kevin die was like a light bulb moment. He has to see it, he cannot ignore it. I do not know, maybe I am crazy and am just full of grief and do not want to believe the writers would just kill Kevin for no reason. What do you think? Does anyone feel the same way I do? I really would love to hear everyone thoughts and feelings.

I died a little inside when he died, I do agree with what your saying but I also think they just killed him off cause he hardly did anything only really having screen time when reading the tablets but I also think they could of done some awesome things and I'm a little disappointed that they didn't even give this a try but I saw that he might die in s9 since like I said he wasn't really needed anymore.

I agree that Kevin's death will serve as a much-needed wake up call for Dean, maybe he'll realize that he needs to think about his plans before diving in head first with others' lives at stake. I'm hoping, though, since Cas has Theo's grace and has angel powers, that he'll be able to bring Kevin back to life. Especially since now we now that Metatron might have indeed put the reversal to his Heaven-shutting spell on the tablet. That or we need to find another prophet pronto. AND CROWLEY KNOWS WHO ALL OF THEM ARE, I JUST REMEMBERED. They can use Crowley to find the next prophet.

AND CROWLEY KNOWS WHO ALL OF THEM ARE, I JUST REMEMBERED. They can use Crowley to find the next prophet. I do not think they are going to bring back Kevin, at least in this season. In a way I will be glad if he stays dead because I worry him coming back will cheapen the effect of his death. I am wondering though if Cas could even bring Kevin back with his powers seeing as it is not his grace he is using. I am sure he is limited in someway by it. If he is not, then the writers have really began to suck even more than I thought. I do not know what they are going to be doing about the prophet thing. If I remember correctly Kevin was the last prophet of his generation. Crowely gathered them all and they got killed season 7. So they have to wait till the next ones are born and old enough to have speech, which is a long time. Maybe Chuck is going to come back. Charlie brought up that she has read some of Cavers(chucks) later work. That cover post season 5 which means he is around somewhere. The work was posted by Becky which makes me wonder if she knows where he is. To be honest though if they go that route and Cas and Dean have to go find Becky and then chuck they will have to tread carefully. We have had plenty of funny/what the hell episodes. We need some seriousness. We need some real plot. I think that is another reason the mid season finale was so jarring because we have had so much crap and no real plot that when it really hit the fan we were like " What the hell just happened?!"

I'm still pretty ticked off and sad about Kevin's death. neutral
I really liked him as a character and I think they could have given him more cool stuff to do.
I love Team Free Will to bits and pieces but I wish we had a few more regular characters that, you know, actually impact the show. I love guest characters like Charlie and Garth and Jody but we seem them once or twice a season (if that much) and almost always in stand-alones.
I just. Ugh. So much wasted potential.

The one tiny shiny shard of hope that may come out of this: Dean will finally own up to his codependency issues. Though considering how many other people he's indirectly killed with his stupidity (*cough*PAM) and the writers' tendency to NOT LET HIM OR SAM OWN UP TO THEIR s**t, IDK. Hi, I'm Ranty McRanterton and I don't want to get booted because I can't remember this site's policy on swearing every second word.
