Shiloh's pod stood across from Rep's, but while the redhead stared vacantly, Shiloh's eyes were closed, his body standing listless, silent, his face illuminated by the runes that glowed blue overhead.

It was quite unlike the warm and bubbly Shiloh who, when alive, had a hard time shutting up.

His body was a mix of bandages and blood, the life techs only patching things up enough to hold him altogether while he healed, well, while it was hoped he would heal. There were no promises, no guarantee, only waiting; only time, time that had been limited to the span of a year.

Shiloh had never been good at waiting.

He had found, through a rude awakening, that he was no longer tied to the torn up body floating in the pod. He moved with weightlessness, around the room and then further, searching for answers about his fate. But he always returned to the room, even if Rep's stare frightened him, even if people he didn't know came and stayed for a long time. He came back because no matter how much of an opportunity he’d been granted in his afterlife mobility, it was lonesome and he missed his friends, he missed Ian. He missed their touch, their smell; he missed sharing life with them.

He didn’t want to be alone, and so he returned to the room throughout the day, curling up against his pod when even being a ghost took too much energy.

Quote:
Shiloh's awareness and sense of self now linger outside of his body. Outside of the leadership, no one can see him or hear him, but he can wander freely throughout the island. In the second week he can be briefly felt by others, and move small objects small distances with effort.

Feel free to have your character stop by and visit if you'd like, and Shiloh will respond accordingly. C:

A lump of comforter started to dredge its way into the lab. It sluggishly slid across the room, until it arrived at Shiloh's pod, where it began to climb up to the edge of the pod and then settle itself down against it. It curled up tighter, and then it lengthened - as if it was slowly consuming the pod. But really, it was just the person inside of the comforter straightening out, until her face was at level with Shiloh's. She couldn't let go of the comforter that surrounded her, keeping her safe from the rest of the world. Keeping her safe and alone in her cocoon of grief.

Everything felt quiet and calm underneath the blankets.

She pressed her face against the glass, and stared at Shiloh's peaceful face in anger. Her fist banged against the glass, just once, before she fell limp and just laid there, against it. Her forehead pressed against the glass.

"I hate you." She whispered, with all of the fervor of someone admitting they loved someone else. But she tried to hate him, because he was gone, and she was still here. She tried, very hard, because it would make this easier.

She tried to hate that beautiful, innocent, stupid, stupid face.

"Stupid." She repeated out loud, smudging the glass with her tears.

“You don’t,” came his voice, low and hurting as he watched Maebe. He’d watched the comforter shuffle in, watched it approach his pod, watched the arm extend from it, and bang against the glass. At least, he hoped she didn’t hate him. He hadn’t meant for things to turn out this way, not by a long shot and if he had the chance to do things differently, he would. What good was proving a point if you wound up dead? The only point it proved then was that he was stupid; a sentiment Maebe had no problem expressing.

“I know,” he said softly, agreeing with her as he settled against the blanket, wrapping his arms around her in his best attempt at a ghostly hug. “Very stupid. I won’t do it again, Maebe, I promise.”

Shiloh wished he could actually hug her, wished he could tell her he was okay, wished he could make her laugh, even if he couldn’t make her smile. He leaned forward until he was close enough to whisper in her ear, and told her something that at least made him smile.

“I know about Taym.”

Thankfully, as a ghost, or whatever sort of thing he was, he was safe from her fists.

The pod hisses open. There are voices talking outside. Someone has moved a stretcher down, someone else is grabbing Shiloh, carrying him. Names. Words. Then nothing.

He would wake up in a nice hospital bed, one by a small window. There was a curtain partitioning his room, most likely some occupant on the other side, though he was still strapped to the bed, literally. It would be a couple more days before he could move freely again; at least someone had had the decency to leave both Shiloh's cell phone and a wheelchair for when he was ready next to his bed.

SHILOH IS OFFICIALLY DEPODDED.
- You can turn this into a hospital orp if you want or make hospital prps. Shiloh can move his upper body weakly but not his legs yet and it'll be a few days before he is allowed to use the wheelchair (48 ooc hours from now, to be exact). For now, enjoy and take advantage of the hospital rps! You can make hospital prps as well.

- it will take an ooc week from now for him to make a mostly full recovery

- PPS; someone has also conveniently placed two papers and a pen with very specific instructions maybe involving a certain Death lead for Shiloh to fill out
