Ruelash may have failed repeatedly. He may be covered in mean little bites, but he was not beaten, and he was not giving up. He growled and cursed at the sailscales as he got to his feet, amid the little barks of his Aldabuck.

Direk was greatly amused. For once, she actually thought of her earthling favorably. Look at him! he was standing up again! Did he think he could climb that wall again? The Aldabuck wanted to see him fall over and over, it was just too funny. Maybe he would fall and not get up, wouldn't that be great? She didn't think about how she would be stuck in the harsh mountains alone, or about what he actually did for her. The Aldabuck simply did not like him at all.

Ruelash was indeed about to climb the wall again. Omlettes were enough to warrent one last try, and he would do it this time. The second he started climbing the wall, the sailscales went after him, shrieking and clawing and biting at the would be egg predator. He ahd been expecting that, though. He slashed at them with one of his swords, moving quickly between swipe and their passes. He hoped one would be unlucky and find his blade- he wanted to see the little sky rats drop broken and bloodied to the ground. He hated them, the way they moved, the way they shrieked, and their little needle claws. He snarled at them as they flew around him.

Direk watched it all in great amusement. Not that she wouldn't mind if the sailscales died- she didn't much care for lower creatures- but she was rooting for them, if an Aldabuck can root for anything. She huffed, clomping a foot as if in applause. She wanted them to get him, and get him good.

Ruelash reached the top of the nest, swiping periodically to fend off the attacks. "How about that, huh?" he snapped at the sailscales, as one managed to be nicked by his sharp blade, "ya wanna go in the omlette too?!" he grinned at them, holding on, "A family-style omlette- Mama, papa, and baby- hows that sound?!" The sailscales didn't understand, but it actually sounded pretty good to him. Meat and eggs, a family reunited. He chuckled to himself as he started to try to struggle onto the ledge with the nest- he'd be better able to slash them down from a flat surface. He had managed to get his upper body on top- and had had to set his sword aside to do it- when the sailscales renewed their attack. They dived in at his head, shoving and swiping. He felt himself slipping back, and struggled to hold on. It was no use- he fell again, protecting his face as he hit the ground.
Stunned, he glared up at the sailscales as they did something on their ledge. He heard a clatter, and his eyes widened as he saw the sharp object hurtling towards him. He rolled away just in time to miss being stabbed by his own sword. He looked at it lying buried in the ground, and retrieved it, sheathing it.

That had been great. Direk couldn't help feeling good when she looked at him, all covered in bruises and scratches and dirt and his own blood. Look at how lowly and disgusting he was. She huffed in scorn. A shame his sword hadn't killed him.

Ruelash looked up at the sailscales, who peered over at him and chirped threateningly. He made a rude sign at them before shaking his head. An omlette was not worth getting killed. F*** that.
He snapped his fingers angrily at his Aldabuck and moved on.
