When it was cold out like this, it was a very wonderful and lovely thing to be a fat, fluffy cat. It really was. What was even better than being fluffy, was having a nice place to nap. Julienne was curled on a park bench, her tail wrapped as much around her body as was possible, just enjoying the soft glow of the sun filtering through the trees.
Sometimes being a cat really was one of the best things ever…so there.
She gave a long and wonderful yawn, then the most luxurious stretch that was possible and sat up, scratching behind one of her ears, then looking around. There was a feeling nearby…like that of a senshi…or what had the potential to be a senshi. A potenshi. What a good word.
With a graceful leap, the Siberian landed on the ground and began walking towards the person in question, her eyes finally landing on a boy with blue hair. Well. Maybe he would want his potential tapped…and maybe he wouldn’t. There was no danger, no harm in letting him stay a civilian…for now.
Julienne made her way over towards him and gave a loud, rather needy meow. Time to test the waters.

Mama was working again, but Owen didn't want to spend the whole afternoon locked up. There were places he was allowed to go if he was careful, and kept his cell-phone with him. The park was one of these places - he knew better than to approach strangers, and it was important that he get some sun - so he was sitting on the winter-dormant (or dead?) grass beneath a tree, reading a book. Sure it was a bit chilly out, but it wasn't too bad, and it was nice to read in the park.
The Boxcar Children series was a bit dated, but they were still pretty good mysteries, and it was fun to try to solve them before the characters did. He wasn't very good at it yet, but he was confident that one of these days he would figure it out. Or if nothing else, he could peek at the explanation at the end and work backwards from there to see how the characters solved it.
Was it cheating? Kind of. But it worked!
He was just getting to the point where the children in the book had discovered a mysterious room when he heard a meow. Blinking, he closed the book around his finger to save his place and looked for the source of the sound, spotting it almost immediately: a fluffy, chubby cat with big blue eyes.
"Hello kitty," Owen said, stretching a hand out for her to sniff if she wanted. "Are you lost?" She looked too... er... 'well-fed' to be a stray, after all. Maybe she'd gotten out of someone's yard?

Julienne gave a small nod to herself. Well. At least he was friendly! She moved towards the hand, purring and rubbing against it, seeming happy. After a moment she took a step back and just looked at him, sitting down and giving another loud meow.
Would he pet her some more, or just walk off? Or would he try to find her home…he was thinking she was lost after all.
The fat cat flopped down and looked up at him for a moment. It was easy to look up until her hat fell into her eyes. When that happened she gave a little snort of disgust and tried to shake her head to get it back up. How dare it ruin her view of her new potenshi! Redbud-Tree I'm sorry about the wait! Christmas at Disney has been insane ;;

"Pretty kitty," Owen cooed, happily scratching the feline about the ears and giving her attention. "You're a nice kitty, aren't you?" He smiled at her, then righted her hat on her head. How strange was that - a cat wearing a hat! In real life! "Is that better?" He asked, then put his book away, getting to his feet and glancing around. "Is your owner around here, kitty? You shouldn't be out in the park all alone! You might not be able to get back home!" Never mind that he really shouldn't be out in the park alone, either. Mama didn't mind as long as he was careful, and he didn't stay there for very long, so it was okay! "You want to go look for her?" The cat's owner had to be a her, with what the kitty was wearing. He slid his backpack (with book tucked inside it) on, then knelt before the cat. "I can carry you!" Orangeish Sherbert ((Not a problem at all! I imagine any major time of the year is insane at Disney. xd ))

Julienne nuzzled his hand for a moment as the boy fixed his hat. Well, that decided it. She had to awaken this boy, if only to be able to talk to him more freely. He seemed very nice, and just the right level of perfect to be a senshi. Though…
“You don’t have to be quite so worried about me. I’m out by myself most of the time…my owner’s mother is really allergic to cats, so I stay outside nearly all of the time. I do like warm houses though, so if you’re willing to take me in for the night, I’d be very happy about it!”
Well. The cat was out of the bag now, literally. The Siberian looked up at Owen and nuzzled his hand once more.
“I do very much like being carried though, so if you wouldn’t mind taking me home and feeding me, I do have something wonderful to give you in return.” Because he was a senshi. And she was going to give him this gift.
It was better to get it now rather than get a terrible thing happening to him in the future…like corruption…or worse.

Did that kitty just... she did! She talked! "Wow," Owen said quietly, and offered his arms for the kitty to jump into them if she wanted. Talking cats were... strange, but kind of cool! He certainly didn't mind that he was being addressed by one. "You can come home with me, but you'll have to be quiet and sneaky, okay? My apartment doesn't allow cats or dogs." The little boy wrinkled his nose. "It's a stupid rule, but I guess you get what you can get... um... do you have a name, kitty?" And for that matter. "How is it you can talk, anyway? And - and what kind of food do you like? Kitty food or people food?"

Julienne jumped into his arms, nuzzling against him at once. “I’ll be very quiet, not to worry. My name is Julienne…and don’t you want your gift before we go inside? It’s a very nice gift, I promise you.” She hesitated a moment, and leapt from his arms, doing her best attempt at a fancy guardian cat backflip…but ending up doing a fat guardian cat bellyflop instead, landing with a huff on her paws the best she could.
Still, the henshin pen was produced, which was the overall goal in this. Julienne picked it up delicately with her mouth and jumped back into Owens’ arms, nuzzling him again. “Ta-da!”
The cat held her head up for him to take the pen, looking terribly smug and pleased with herself. Clearly this was the best gift anyone could ever get. Because she gave it to him, of course.

"Well... hopefully not too quiet," Owen said, nuzzling the talking kitty back. "You have a very pretty voice, Miss Julienne." When she leaped down, the little boy squeaked and flailed, trying and failing to catch her. "Wh-what no -" He breathed a sigh of relief when he realized she was okay, then stopped and stared at the pen that had literally just come out of nowhere. "Where did that - um, thank you?" Taking the pen - and cat! - carefully, he inspected the device, then poked the kitty in the belly gently. "So. Um. You're a kitty and kind of like a PEZ dispenser?" Had she popped the pen out of her tummy? Was that why she was a chubby cat?
