This is a private solo-RP between Nisshou H's Zelcion and Kiij. Please no posting. Not that you'd ever want to be caught between these two beasties anyway.

To say that things had not gone the way the mazoku had been hoping for after Lord Ruby-Eyes was resurrected would be the understatement of the century. The bloodshed and terror that everyone had been looking forward to was somewhat lacking even all this time after his return. They were still nestled in one corner of the jungle instead of ruling over the entirety of the continent. If Zelcion were to be completely honest he would say that they were all starting to come apart at the seams.
He'd been made to quell the fire in one of the best warriors he'd ever seen just to keep her from rebelling. It had made her useless to them and at the time he had thought it was the worst order he had ever received. He would take that one over his current mission any day though. He had been sent out into the badlands to try and make a recruit of a beast said to reign in the area. Zelcion could not fly. It left him making the entire journey through the brutal environment on foot. It was a punishment, plain and simple. He suspected that he would never find this creature. The skinwalker on a throne of bones. It sounded too much like Samsara for his liking. If it was then he doubted he would make it out of an encounter alive. He had been sent out of the jungle to starve to death, die of thirst, or be torn apart by a skinwalker.
Where had he gone so wrong that this was to be his fate?

Kiij lay sprawled out on a flat rock with her eyes closed. The sun warmed her thick fur against the biting chill of the winter air. Her belly bulged from the rabbits she'd had the pleasure of ripping apart just a half hour before. The edges of her lips were turning a ruddy brown as the blood slowly dried. All in all she was sated and not feeling particularly energetic. Kiij was just about to fall asleep when a scent drifted past her nose. The tip of her tail flicked up slightly as her ear twitched. The feline skinwalker heard nothing but that scent did not lie.
Kiij rolled onto her swollen belly and snarled viciously, "Intruders." Pushing herself onto her padded feet the big cat took in a deeper breath of the air to identify the general location of the intruder. Once she was certain of the area she took off like a bolt keeping to the high rocks as much as possible. If there was one thing she knew it was that prey rarely looked up if they thought they were safe. She wasn't hungry at the moment but a full grown horse could feed her well for quite some time. She would simply kill him then eat him bit by bit once her stomach emptied.

Zelcion flicked his tongue out briefly to touch it against the dry edges of his mouth. He could continue his death sentence of a march after locating water. It was winter which meant if there was water it may be frozen in a dark corner of north facing rocks or some other place that the sun couldn't reach. Zelcion paused to scan the area for shaded places. There was an outcropping of rocks close to him and if he were not mistaken there was a bit of white piled up where two rocks met.
With a purposeful flick of his tail Zelcion altered his course to check out the rocks. Sure enough there was snow. It wasn't much and the bottom was coated in red rock dust but it would do the trick. Leaning down Zelcion bit into the snow like it was a chunk of lamb, let it melt in his mouth, swallowed it, and then went for another bite. There wasn't enough snow to amount to much but it helped just enough to let him keep hunting for a better water source. His actual purpose could wait for now. If Lord Hellmaster was in such a rush he could always fly out and take things over.

She could see him now, the invader with the gall to come crawling into her kingdom. He was not simply a horse, he was spirit touched, like she had been once before she had been granted her most marvelous gift of strength and ferocity. He wasn't like her or the many she had slaughtered in the past though. He was large with a sharp pointed tail, wicked horns and fangs. He was a predator, like Kiij herself was. The mountain lion's lip curled back revealing her white teeth. He would not make it out of her territory alive. She would ensure it.
Keeping downwind from the stallion, Kiij slunk around picking her footholds carefully as she scaled the rocks closer to her target. She was an ambush predator. They should never know she was there until she was at their throats. That was how the best hunters worked. As she got herself into position Kiij watched the stallion carefully for any signs he was onto her.
Then, with just the faintest sounds of claws on rock she sprang downward off the rock and onto the stallion's back sinking in her claws.

Zelcion realized what was happening far too late to get out of harm's way. His wings flared out as a weight hit him and piercing pain covered his back. For a few seconds his wings flailed about uselessly as he gathered himself enough to process what was attacking him. His wings flattened against his side as he whipped his spaded tail up to strike at his assailant. He was no easy mark and now was the time for action and not reaction. Only reacting got people killed. Acting put you in charge of the situation and Zelcion would be in charge. "Damn feline!" He snarled viciously baring each and every one of his sharp teeth to truly convey the threat he could pose. He was a mazoku and would not go down easily.

Her first strike had gone almost flawlessly. She landed securely at the center of the stallion's back and managed to work her claws in. Her target seemed to panic beating his wings at random. They hurt a bit when they hit but it was nothing Kiij couldn't handle. Things went wrong shortly after that. As she moved to sink her fangs into the stallion's throat something slashed at her side getting a clean cut into her flank. She hissed and turned to see the stallion's tail, it was more of a threat than she had assumed. The stallion cursed her and she let go after swiping at his shoulder to avoid another clean hit from the spade.
Kiij darted away from the stallion quickly to get out of striking range but stayed close enough to be able to threaten him. "You're a long way from help, stallion." She spat circling him and planning her next attack. He wasn't weak so quick attacks would be best. In and out before he had a chance to get her. If she could disable his legs or tail that would put her at more of an advantage. "This is my land. You won't find any friends here."

Zelcion was a little surprised to hear it talk since it looked so much like a regular big cat. He was a little less surprised when it turned out that this was the beast he had been sent to find. It wasn't Samsara but that wasn't much of a comfort. She was already attacking him, unsurprising, it was a skinwalker, and he had little hope of convincing her to join the mazoku. Zelcion scowled bitterly. He knew he was going to regret this but a mission was a mission. If he asked and she said no then he could leave. He wasn't in the mood for fighting a skinwalker, especially not such an annoying one that clearly wanted him dead.
"Skinwalker, I've been sent with an offer. We would like for you to join us in our conquest of the world." Despite the pain in his back Zelcion managed to hold his head up proudly and stick his chest out a little. His tail, however, he kept held at the ready in case the cursed walker decided to attack him again.

Kiij didn't know what the stallion was prattling on about nor did she care. She wasn't interested in world domination. All she wanted was her land to be hers and hers alone and right now her land was being shared without her consent. Kiij's ears flicked back as she hissed before charging at the stallion moving like water over the ground to make it harder to strike at her. She swiped at the stallion's foreleg before circling around to get out of striking range again. She would bring this stallion down, especially after what he did to her side. She could still feel a little blood trickling out. It wasn't a fatal wound but it would certainly annoy her for days to come.
