Second time so I need 80-100. Bonuses: +5 For having aid / +5 for second time Vlidean give -10 due to their nature.
43 = FAIL!
Xenosa had headed out in the hopes of capturing a Vlidean once more, she vividly remembered the last time she’d been out here and it has sucked. Royally sucked. So here she was again, trying to figure out how to capture one of the darn things, and she still hadn’t a clue on how to do it. Sighing loudly, Xenosa put her hands on her hips and glared up at the birds. “Filthy things!” She yelled at them, growing angrier and angrier by the second. He should have brought someone with her to help her out, two heads were always better than one for these things!
Ainsley found himself sent on another seemingly pointless errand for Quan. The teen was beginning to realize that the older Orderite--his "mentor", no less--was probably just being too lazy. Honestly, it wasn't all that hard to go and deliver a small pouch to an acquaintance or customer. He'd done it for years before he ran into Ainsley, right? ...Right. The blonde answered the sole question that had been floating around in his head all morning and was ready to leave it at that, when he suddenly heard someone outright scream their frustrations out for anyone to hear. Raising a brow, he did his best to follow the source of the voice and, when he saw someone in the distance he sighed.
Just another Orderite, huh? Or he assumed it was an Orderite. Normal skin, no horns or scales, and no weird dragon-thing alongside it. Yep, probably was an Orderite. "I hope you don't mean me," Ainsley said with a grin as he approached. "I'm curious who you're talking to though..."
Xenosa whipped around so quickly at the sound of the voice that it was a wonder she hadn’t fallen down. She’d bent a little at the knees and there already was a large throwing knife in one hand and the other as on her side ready to strike out for another as fast as she could. When she noticed it was just another Orderite, she released the air from her lungs loudly. “You scared me.” She removed her hand from her side and straightened up. “No I wasn’t speaking to you.” She chuckled. “The Vlidean are driving me insane. This is the second time I try and catch one and fail miserbly.”

The sudden stance that the other took at his sudden appearance had Ainsley instinctively reach for the hilt of his axe, though he was relieved to see that she relaxed after realizing that he wasn't a hostile. The teen, however, kept a reasonable distance between the two of them and chose to sit on a nearby boulder to relax a bit. Meh. He could deliver the pouch later. Not that Quan would know exactly what time Ainsley arrived at his proper destination anyway.
"Ah," the blonde said, his lips twisting into a frown at the mention of vlideans. He wasn't a big fan of the things either, considering they attacked him without reason or warning once before when he was younger. "Nasty things, vlideans. Why would you want to catch one?" he asked, though he had a vague idea why.
“Because they are nasty things and I like nasty things.” Wow, that might have sounded better in her head. Xenosa turned her back to him to look at the Vlidean and hopefully hide the expression on her; she covered her eyes with her hand to block the sun. “You ever try to catch one?” This was her second attempt and it wasn’t looking as promising as the first, hell they all seemed to be glaring down at her. Turning back to the teen, Xen said “I’m Xenosa by the way.”

It never really occurred to him that maybe these people would enjoy a vlidean's company because they're not super pleasant, but thinking about Quan for a second he figured he'd just keep on employing his policy of "to each their own." Besides, who was he to say that the other person had bad taste. Weird, maybe, but not necessarily bad. With a shrug the teen let it go, simply shaking his head at the other's question.
"Nope, not interested," he admitted. "They don't seem all that useful to me, and they're too much trouble to try and catch. Plus they tried to kill me before, so...yeah, not interested." Then again, the same could be said about most other creatures on the planet. "Ainsley," he soon returned her introduction. "How many times have you tried catching these things, though?"
“I suppose,” Xen began, eyeing the closes Vlidean. “That it depends on one’s profession to find the Vlidean useful.” She chuckled when he said that they had tried to kill him before, nothing new there! They’d tried to kill her too before! Sighing loudly, Xen let out a few more curse words at them before pinching the bridge of her nose and walking over to Ainsley. “I give up.” She looked more frustrated about the whole ordeal than anything else. “I need them for work and they’re a very good way to get messages directly to people.”

Well that was probably true. He wasn't a messenger or anything, though he did have a mentor who enjoyed sending him on stupid errands to delver packages and other things, but he probably wouldn't have much use for a vlidean. The teen watched Xenosa curse at the birds for a bit more before ultimately giving up, causing him to smirk. "Well, maybe third time's the charm?" Not that he knew how many times she'd tried to catch the things considering she'd left his question unanswered.
"I could try and help, if you want?" Shoot, he'd look for any excuse to put off having to get back home. Quan would probably just send him off again, and his studies and training would get postponed. Again. "Not sure how, but maybe if you set up some kind of a trap?"

I totally just posted in your plot thread in Moonshop. XDD
“This would only be the second time, so hopefully next time.” Indeed, third time was a charm, but she wasn’t there yet. Xen decided to take a seat on the ground, crossing her legs and propping herslf back no her arms. “Nah, I’ll be back and catch one at a later time.” Closer now she gave him a look over with curiosity. “Nice weapon.” She commented with a smirk, eyeing the large weapon with approval. “What do you do for work?” She tilted her head slightly, wondering why a stranger would stop and try to help her.

Oh, well at least he somehow managed to get that right. Following suit, the teen took a seat as well, though he rested his rear on atop a rock instead of the ground. "Hopefully," he echoed, his eyes glancing over to the sidelines to see a few more vlidean flying off for whatever reason. He didn't notice that she'd sized him up in that time frame. At her comment, he grinned rather broadly. "Thanks," he replied, patting the hilt of his axe with a decent amount of pride. "It was hell to carry it when I was younger though," the blonde laughed. Ainsley noticed her own weapons and acknowledged them with a nod. "You've got a nice set there, yourself, though."
He had to think about her question for a second though, since he wasn't entirely sure what to say. In the end, he went with, "I guess we're merchants, of a sort. Maybe hunters?" His voice was laced with uncertainty, so he decided to bounce the question back to take the focus off of him. "What about you?" he asked. Ainsley couldn't really make any guesses at her occupation given what she was wearing, and he couldn't really figure out what jobs would benefit from a vlidean's help.
“That sounds like quite the challenge.” Xenosa tried to pick a smaller version of the teen before her trying to haul that axe about, the mental image made her laugh inwardly thought on the outside her face remained passive. “Thanks.” She glanced down at the weapons he could probably see. Though she very much doubted that Ainsley could see half the weapons she carried on herself, but it was always nice to get a compliment. Apart from Dae and a few shady contacts, this was probably the first time she was sitting down and having a chit chat with someone.
Xenosa wasn’t too sure how one could be a merchant or a hunter, in her mind they were two completely different options. “I’m a hunter.” Though which kind she did not specify, she wasn’t about to outright tell him she hunted people down and then spied on them because someone had paid her to do so. It was one of the basic rules Daesat had taught her. “You said ‘we’, are you in some large band of sorts?”
