Family History: The Rayonnant family is one of very few lines of French nobility that survived the French Revolution without having their lands and properties confiscated. Shiny is the last surviving descendant of the family line, and as such holds the formal title of Viscomtess. They were given the title as a courtesy after gifting some very rare and valuable gemstones to the crown, and have continued to specialize in the mining and cutting of rare gems ever since. Since Shiny took over the active role of head of the family, she has also invested in a number of renewable energy ventures as a silent partner. There is some controversy over this, as the family's properties and assets were frozen after her parents' tragic deaths and remained inactive for over fourteen years before she took control.
Personal History: Shiny is really, really not from around here. In fact, she's not even human, though she is desperately trying to appear as one. Her true nature is a closely guarded secret known to a very small number of people. To anyone else, she is an odd young woman who was raised in almost total isolation due to some obscure inheritance laws and the fact that she has a very peculiar skin condition.
