It was a first and official mission Takeo has received through his family. He now has to get use to this new life of his as he has graduated from his training. After he has recovered from that ceremony of dodging for his life, he received a mission from his father. It sounded very simple which he is to offer needed help for a farmer outside of Obsidian city in the fields. There have been Dunkels flying over to their animals and attacking their Hastars. It needed to be stopped for the farm depended on those Hastar to help with their work. He would be a liar to say he’s not nervous about this. Before leaving his home, Takeo had sharpened his sword up to the point that he could possibly cut the very air. His father, though, finally pulled him out of his daze and sent him off because he couldn’t be late.
He slipped out of their home and head out to the farmlands. The ninja has a new mask to replace his old one that was cut in half as he walked out towards the outside of the city. In a way, he is very excited to be seeing a farm and what sort of crops and plants they’re growing this time around seeing how he looked around from side to side. It does fascinate him greatly that he tends to forget that he has a job to do instead of looking at the plant life around him. “Excuse me?” Someone has called out to him and he snapped out to see who has spoken to him. A young man who seemed to be around his age has approached him and Takeo stared at him in silent examination. “Are . . . are you the one who will be helping us?” Takeo merely gave a nod of his head in answering him and the young man smiled brightly with glee. “Great! We’ve been expecting you! Please, come with me so you can help us.” The young farmer has already ran off ahead to the very place where his help is needed in learning more about his mission.
Their farm was vast as they grew crops for the Oblivionites to be sold in Obsidian City from what the young ninja can see along the way. They appeared to be very well grown seeing that they use the Hastar in plowing the fields; making them highly important. Beyond the crop fields was a grazing field where he has seen the herds of Hastar grazing out in the pasture in peace of mind from harm. “You see, at night the Dunkel will come out here and feed on them. Already we have lost a few . . .” Takeo peered through his mask in seeing his surroundings and the forest that lies beyond the fence. “All right . . .” Already he has in mind of what to do now seeing the situation and he waited out at the farm until later into the evening when the Dunkel are active and very hungry.
The daylight has been spent into the night as Takeo lies in wait for them while the farmers sleep for the early morning. The ninja thought of countless ideas and plans of how to take them down, but then one had appeared right before him as he leaped into action from his hiding place and draw out his sword. They flew highly fast before his sword could ever reached towards it and the Dunkel swooped to a sleeping Hastar as it latched on to the beast’s neck. “Damn it . . .” They were faster than he anticipated. His attention was drawn into taking the Dunkel out from drinking the Hastar’s blood, yet again, he was distracted by another one who flew before him in distraction along with a comrade. Takeo was faced with three Dunkel who effortlessly worked together of protecting one who is feeding while the others protect them. It infuriated Takeo greatly that he can’t reach them or get close to the feeding one as he could hear the poor creature crying out in pain. He felt so helpless and stupid now . . .
A figure appeared from the woods that was like a blur before Takeo. He gripped his sword tightly in his hand in prepared for it. “Another one?!” He couldn’t believe it, but what else he didn’t believe is that the shadowy figure was in fact his father who had taken down the dunkel easily with a flick of his wrist and slashing down the creatures at what appeared to be by a single blow. The Hastar was at a daze from the loss of blood but it appeared to be fine if given the time to rest and proper nutrition in the morning. Takeo was frightened before the very man as he could feel his gaze passed through his mask an on to him. It meant that his father has been watching his process all this time; probably keeping an eye on him if he does well or not. “You know what this means when you arrive home . . . yes?” That’s all he has said to him before Takumi left his son and the slaughtered dunkel; giving proof that he has succeeded his mission for the farmers. The young apprentice only lowered his head in shame that he has failed before him as he grit his teeth tightly for he knew what will happened when he gets home with his sword shakily sheathed back in. “. . . punishment.”
