Adalynn stepped out of the tea shop, a smile spread wide across her face. Something quite unusual for this particular female. Usually she was a grumpy puss, always frowning, a glowering stare waiting in the wings for anyone who dared to speak to her. But today was different, she couldn't explain it either. It just was, for the first time in a long time she felt different.

It was a freeing sensation, even more freeing than when she had moved from home. Finally escaping her Mother and Brother's oppressive grasps! Today was an all new day, and she intended to grab it by the horns. and that started with having her favorite cup of tea to set the mood for the rest of the day. She had only just finished her delightful cup when she felt the need to step outside. She didn't really know why she was going outside, but it felt as though something was pulling her out the front door.

"Can't seize the day from a bench in a tea shop I guess..." She chimed in, trying to convince herself that she wasn't just some weirdo standing in a doorway.

User ImageIt wasn't often Melia would venture out of her territory, or away from her family to go to the tea shop. She much preferred napping in the spots of sunlight through the trees, now thin and bare as autumn became winter. But today, today was different. She felt the need to just get out, go socialize. Maybe she'd run into that nephew of his, or his family. They liked to hang about the shop, right?

Since her entry into the world, Melia had mellowed somewhat. She'd gotten used to the family she had, and learned very quickly it was even more expansive than she had thought. She'd been so angry, so unsure of everything, and then she'd found her own little spot. She had a garden now, she'd taken to brewing potions, and occasionally she'd find a stranger interested enough to sell them to. Even now she was carrying a few on her in a small pouch, wondering if perhaps she could find someone to buy her wares.

As she arrived, she quickly noticed there were few outside. The majority certainly must be enjoying the warmth of the interior, but right as she made her way closer, Adalynn stepped out. Melia's eyes narrowed the slightest as she looked her over. Aquatic, or at least half, but by the looks of her, she couldn't be a relation. That being said, it was a rare opportunity to meet someone new, and perhaps she'd best take note of this good fortune.

"Good afternoon." She greeted, tail swishing as she watched her. "The shop doing well today?" She had no interest in going in, for once. Her fur coat could keep her warm enough.

Adalynn hardly took notice of the new customer before her, until she spoke up. At that point, she quickly scooted out of her way and began to apologize profusely for standing in her way. "I-I'm sorry! I hadn't seen you there, I was lost in my own little world for a moment there." Letting out a small chuckle of her own, she tried to keep from embarrassing herself further by just shutting her mouth. But this new female, just kept asking questions! Being her normal self, she would likely have stared at her for a moment, and simply walked away. But today ... what was it about today?! Good afternoon, Ahhh, yeah! I would say the shops doing quite well today. This is the busiest i've seen it in a while at least." She paused a moment, wondering why the female was so curious about the shop. "I bet it has something to do with the weather, cold weather always pairs well with a warm cup of tea!" She mused happily, reminiscing of her own cup she'd had only a small time ago.

"I'm Adalynn, its nice to meet you ...." She trailed off, allowing room for the female to introduce herself if she so chose.

Melia chuckled, watching the other female start to stutter in surprise. "No, no, it's fine. I probably do the same on occasion." She shook her head, offering a curious smirk. Well. This was certainly off to an interesting start. She wasn't usually up for socializing much, but today? Ah, to hell with it, she deserved to hear what everyone was up to instead of being a hermit all closed up in her little sanctuary. After all, maybe she could interest this one in a potion or two....

"Mmm, I wouldn't know, I don't often come here. It just seemed like a good day to get out, see if I could find something, or someone interesting. Seems I made a good choice." She hummed, watching the other woman for a moment, before looking back at the shop. "Was thinking maybe I'd run in to some family here. Perhaps not, fate has a way with that." Surely there was some reason this woman was here, surely there was some reason they'd met.

"Adalynn, huh?" She tested out the name on her tongue, rather liking the sound of it. "Interesting, interesting.....I suppose it would be time for pleasantries, wouldn't it? Melia Pardus at your service." There was no need for middle names, not right now at least.

Adalynn's fishy tail gave a flick of interest at Melia's words, so she wasn't the only one to seemingly space out in public spaces? Well that was definitely comforting, though now she was sort of curious what this new female could possibly daydream about. Actually there were many things about this new lady that she was curious about, but so many of them she couldn't just blurt out at the drop of a hat. She supposed if she got to know her, perhaps she could ask but maybe even then it would be inappropriate? She wouldn't know, she wasn't good at this whole 'socializing' thing ... But she had to give it a shot.

Adalynn nearly gasped out loud when she heard that the female before her hardly ever came out to the tea shop. That must be some kind of crime right?! "Oh? Well, my new friend, we have to fix that! You should visit more often, we could become fast friends, over delicious tea!" She giggled innocently, unsure of whether the other would take her seriously or not. But she seemed like a nice enough noodle, why not invite her to become friends? If the two could really hit it off, she could definitely use a shoulder to lean on sometimes, and perhaps the same was true for her as well. "I would say you made a fine choice, truth be told, I sort of made the same one! When I woke up this morning, I felt a bit different like something had changed. As a result, I came here and somehow I ended up talking with you! How that for that fate you were speaking of?!"

By this point, she was getting pretty pumped to have met her! It seemed strange for the two to have such similar motives and bump into one another at the same place. Adalynn was such a serious girl, fate was never really something she believed in. But after all of this, maybe there might be something to it?

"Melia? I really like that name, and such an interesting last name to go with it! You have quite the name there Melia Pardus!"
