The Templar of Earth was patrolling his normal area tonight, because he had been exploring further away and did not want to let his own area fall behind. He did not want to have youma start coming back to the area, thinking it was an easy place for some food and starseeds. He would not stand to let his little safe haven slip from his protection, as he wanted the library to be a place where people could come to be safe. Civilians or powered. He was hoping his presence, especially now, would help to ensure that.
He had plans, he just needed to get himself together, to heal and make sure that he would be effective if people needed him to be. To protect those that need protection: that was his one goal.
He was on the street instead of the roof tops, powered and waiting. He had seen a youma, but it was fast enough to slip away from him in this alley, where he had pursued it. He felt very patient, and he knew the youma was still nearby, he just needed to find it.
And he would. He never let a youma escape to go and hurt an innocent person. They lacked the control some Negas had, before Chaos tainted them too far. Youma had no restraint. Even the Negaverse lost control of them sometimes, and that was just a testament to how dangerous they could be.
His senses kicked into gear and he felt the aura of a Negaverse soldier not too far off, making him turn and look around in an effort to see him, without losing track of the youma. He wondered if the Nega would come to investigate the Templar's aura.

Camelot wouldn’t be disappointed tonight. Mariposite was a very curious person sometimes…and this aura was bigger and more impressive than any other order aura he had ever felt and he wanted to find out just who, or what it was…even though that might end up as a bad thing. It didn’t matter too terribly much at least.
He made his way over and blinked, squinting at the person that the aura belonged to. “…Cameltoe? Er, oh god.” The captain felt his face heat up. He might have called the knight that to other people, but it had always been a slip up. A term of endearment.
And he had never meant to say it to the man’s’ face. “Camelot, I mean. Camelot. Is that really you? What the heck happened? You didn’t look like that the last time I saw you.” He began to walk around the stronger knight, giving a low whistle. “Your cape looks comfy. It’ll be nice during the winter I’ll bet. Just snuggle up on it. You know, it kind of reminds me of those rugs that they have in the old pictures with the naked royal babies on them? Do you know what I’m talking about?”
British royalty. Naked babies. Cameltoes. This was a great conversation. “Uh. I’m Mariposite in case you forgot me. It’s good to see you again. Hi.”

Camelot smiled when the Nega appeared and turned out to be someone he not only recognized, but quite liked despite their strange introduction. He smiled and lifted his hand in greeting, not waving, but still hailing him leisurely. It was a comfortable gesture, something reserved for friends, or at least for people he did not consider to be his enemies.
He wouldn't really wave at his enemies, as they tended to try and punch him in the face, or worse.
The name caught him off guard, and he wondered if that was what the Negaverse called him when he was not paying attention. He, of course, knew what the general definition was, and he tried not to think about it too much all at once, as he was already too easily distracted sometimes. Still... did others call him that too? He felt like he was in high school again.
Well, no. He had been fairly popular in high school, but he felt like he was in sitcom high school, sometimes.
"Ah, no, I didn't. I ah... acquired a bit more power since then. I'm a Templar now, a fourth stage for us Knights to attain past the rank of Knight. Though I... I don't think... naked babies... were ever... uhm... on my cape. I hope not, anyway... uhh. Hm." He cleared his throat bashfully, turning a bit red. He stood awkwardly silent for a moment, shuffled one booted foot with a ringing, metallic sound, and then laughed. This seemed par for the course, considering.
"I remember you. It's good to see you again, Mariposite. How have you been doing?"

Mariposite looked very impressed. “I never knew there was such a thing. That’s pretty cool, and congrats! You look really cool, and feel really strong. I’ll have to bake you some cookies or something.” He smiled and then shrugged. “I’ve been…okay for the most part. I keep trying to…you know. Use those sweet moves of mine. I’ve gotten the girls to like me a lot more. It’s kind of funny, you know they do respond a lot better if you’re not a jerk and don’t…you know, assume that they want you.” He grinned slightly. “If you’re polite, they kiss you a lot easier, you know? So thanks for that.”
He held up a hand, fully intending to get a high five. Camelot was a cool guy. And a cool friend. Friends high fived. That was just the way it was.
“I uh. I’ve been trying to fight it too…just so you know.” Slide the tough part in. The part he didn’t really want to discuss. “The chaos, I mean. Sometimes I think I can feel it inside me trying to grow, but uh. That could just be me losing my mind, you know?”

Camelot laughed and shook his head, being honest because he trusted Mariposite, despite not knowing him too well. The Nega seemed kind and honest, and really, nothing Camelot said would get either of them killed in the long run, so why hide it?
"I did not know it existed, either, to be honest. It just happened, and here I am." He shook his head in wonder. Sometimes it still managed to catch up to him, and he had to really wonder how this had all happened to him, and if he really did deserve what he was.
At the Nega's words, though, he laughed awkwardly and shook his head. He was not sure he wanted credit for upping Mariposite's game with the ladies. Camelot's wife, Shalott, would kill him if she knew he was inadvertently helping other men chase some tail. He could not fathom how much trouble he would be in if she caught wind of the story, and got the wrong idea about him handing out flirting advice.
He did return the high five though. Couldn't leave someone hanging: even a librarian knew that. It was a bro rule, a man rule. And of course, it was something friends did.
It got a little more serious, and he nodded his head, moving a bit closer to place his hand on the others shoulder, watching him and offering him a reassuring smile.
"Chaos is... a difficult thing to understand. It's a corrupting force, you know that, and as you are exposed to it more and more... it can have strange effects. I've seen people who can handle it, who don't seem to change, while others... they become lost to it, as it consumes them. I don't want to see that happen to you, I really don't. You seem like a genuinely nice guy. I can see traits of a Knight in you, you know. You would make a good one."

Aw yeah. What a fantastic bro moment. High fiving the big Camelot. What a confidence boost that was. The man seemed slightly upset by something he had said and while Maripo wracked his brain trying to figure out just what it was, Camleot had his hand on his shoulder. Oh boy. For half a second, the captain was half afraid that Camelot was going to put the moves on him and he gave a rather hasty. “Hey, hey, old man. You are sweet and all, but I like people closer to my age and…”
Oh. Oh this wasn’t…oh. This was just a segue into more deep and dramatic conversation. Whoops. He cleared his throat. “Yeah. Yeah I guess so. I mean…uh. Better to see traits of a knight in me…rather than traces of one in me…I like exotic cooking but uh…I
Good. Good recovery. To be perfectly honest, Mariposite was kind of flattered that Camelot was saying such things…and yeah. Maybe there was an ooey gooey knight buried under the layers of flaky chaos that had enveloped him…and maybe one day he’d find a big enough butter knife that could help peel the chaos off…but tonight…most likely wasn’t going to be that day. Not after making such a fool out of himself…every time he opened his mouth.

Camelot could only stare at him. Really? Was this guy's brain always on landing ladies and hooking up with people? Camelot was not hitting on him, he was being supportive! He tried not to look flustered or embarrassed, though his grip on the others shoulder increased just a little bit. He couldn't help it.
He was TENSE.
Still, he could not help but laugh as Mariposite struggled to cover for himself. It was not as smooth as it could have been, that was for sure, and Camelot shook his head with a grin, patting him heartily on the shoulder and finally releasing him. He was a good guy, this Nega, and Camelot really did not want to see him lost to Chaos, like some of the other Negas he had seen before.
"Don't worry about it," he said, shaking his head. "I won't force you to purify into one. I know that is touchy for most Negaverse soldiers and, to be honest, it is a fear that is unfounded. I cannot force anyone to purify if they don't want to: that is not how our power works." He smiled. "But I do think you'd make one hell of one. And, if you like hitting on the White Moon so much, you'd have a lot more luck."
He grinned teasingly, still a dude, despite being older, married, and with kids. He envied the younger folk, sometimes, remembering his good ol' days. No matter how much trouble he got into, or how he regretted things later, there were still some great times that he could still miss.

Mariposite gave a little laugh, then a rather sheepish smile. “I’m thinking about it. I really am. Don’t just think I’m spewing word vomit…because it’s a…it’s a nice thought. To be honest, it’s a very nice thought…” He sighed, then glanced around. “Anyway…I should go, Camelot. It was great seeing you again, but I have to be on my way.”
To be perfectly honest, he was starting to feel a little bit pressured and he wasn’t sure what he should be doing. The part of him that was gone to chaos wanted him to leave, or to attack. If he went for the eyes…well.
No. No this wasn’t the time or the place to think about such things. He felt just a little bit ill and looked away. “Take care of yourself, Camelot. And uh…yeah. Don’t give any pretty girls a hard time or I’ll have to kick your a** and stuff…And remember.”
He looked back at the Tempalr and gave a little, rather pained grin. “Your cape is still perfect for those naked babies. So uh. Think about that. Oh! You could call it the baby maker if you really wanted. Camelot, Temple of baby making. Am I right?”

Camelot smiled and nodded his head, letting the topic go. He could see the young man was nervous about it now, and he did not want to make him upset. He was glad to hear, at least, that he was thinking about it. That was more than a lot of Negaverse soldiers out there, and some would never be able to make that step. The ones that could see that there was something wrong, that their choices were not entirely their own, were the ones that most needed to know that there was, at least, a choice for them.
"Take care of yourself, as well. I look forward to seeing you again... and perhaps proving that my cape is not... well. I don't know how I would prove that... you know what, I'm just making it worse."
Temple of baby making. He did not think he liked that nickname any more than the last one, but he found himself smiling and shaking his head despite himself. He sighed, giving up, and offered the other a helpless shrug. With that, he bowed graciously, a servant until the end, and made to retreat before he betrayed how embarrassed he really was at the very idea of his cape having anything to do with baby making.
