It was a chilly night, but Arian didn't really want to stay home right now. In fact he hadn't wanted to stay home since his cousin had gone to her parents, not wanting to linger around the empty apartment any more than he had to and had therefore ended up hitting the patrol beat as his powered counterpart Athene more often instead.

The battle with the Shade Queen and her minion fairies had cut the night-time patrols down somewhat, Athene having taken too much of a battering from some of the attacks launched his way to be able to patrol as much as he had been doing - the stitches still in his side from where one of the spears she had launched onto the field had cut through layers of fabric and into skin a reminder of the need to take things at least somewhat easier.

He'd been told it would scar, another scar to add to the one that Painite had given him and the burn scar on his leg from where the monochrome shade princess' attack had caught him before he could pull back, although with his cousin not currently home he'd been spared from having to come up with some sort of excuse to try and explain the two scars.

Despite the need to take things somewhat easier Athene was still patrolling a fair deal and tonight was no exception, the dark-haired senshi as Arian having stopped long enough to pick up a hot drink of some sort of caramel flavoured coffee before finding somewhere secluded to power up.

Without the worry of Shade attacks at night the city had seemed quieter of night and this night seemed to be shaping up to be no exception, meaning that Athene had been pretty much left alone with his hot drink and his thoughts. In fact the hot drink was almost half drunk by the time time he picked on his first powered aura of the night, another eternal senshi and one that seemed to be relatively close-by at that.

For a moment, Athene hesitated for a moment, then another before turning in the direction he thought the aura might be coming from - he wasn't particularly feeling wedded to his own company - mayhaps the other eternal would feel the same way too.

Athene had stopped, when he'd realised that the eternal strength aura seemed to be coming from above automatically tilting his head up, although he tried to hide the slight flinch as the other dropped down, his last encounter with Painite having left him not particularly fond of being dropped down on from above.

His slight smile was friendly however as he placed the maroon and white garbed eternal "Evening Pasiphae" he said quietly returning her greeting, adding "I'm doing okay thank you, how about yourself?" After all the Shade Princess battle had been a tough one and the Shade Queen one tougher yet and although Athene didn't recall seeing Pasiphae during the battle against Finsternis and her Shade army, it didn't mean that that other eternal hadn't been there. After all there had been too many there and Athene had been too busy trying to avoid (at times painfully unsuccessfully) the attacks that the Shade Queen kept sending their way to really keep track.

He shook his head slightly adding "And no thanks is needed, it honestly was no trouble. Besides we all kind of helped each other back there." It had been a team effort after all helping Princess Iris bring down the monochrome princess.

"Ah it's okay" Athene said quietly. "Just a few bad memories."

He was glad for the turn in conversation, "It is cold these days" he agreed with a slight smile. "That's why I've taken to patrol with one of these" he indicated the take-away cup of coffee, a rueful note in his voice as he admitted "My senshi outfit's not really cut out for cold weather." Although it could have been worse - at least he was no longer stuck with the shorts and t-shirt get up that he'd had as a base senshi.

Athene nodded slightly at Pasiphae's words "I agree" he said simply. After all the fake Princess Shade had been so strong and the Queen of the Shades stronger yet - neither of them had been alone battles.

He took a sip and then another of the hot chocolate before adding "Ida, one of my team mates is always saying that we're stronger together than apart, but she's right about it." Another of his slight smiles "We're both part of the PSSG." His smile turned rueful "We've been trying to look out for those new to this." It was a big task, even with Tsui and Chaonis to help out with so many new senshi and knights out there. "I'm also part of the Shepherds too" about to shrug, Athene at the last moment remembered the stitches and didn't. "I don't mind giving a hand out where I can."

"Well the take out cup makes a pretty good portable hand-warmer, at least it does whilst the contents are still warm" Athene said, then continued with a rueful note in his voice as he admitted. "Although I should probably just get myself some gloves to use while patrolling and be done with it." His senshi outfit had briefly seen fit for him to have some sort of glove-type thing, back when he had been a Super senshi but with his eternal upgrade they had reverted to their gloveless state. "Although tucking my hands beneath my sleeves kind of works a little too." Or at least he told himself that it did, even if the light fabric was no real protection against the night time chill or even at this time of year the day time chill.

"And well I don't really have any allies outside of the Shepherds or the PSSG" Athene admitted, "Or at least nothing formal. I've met a few friends though" like Camelot who not only did he consider a friend, but also as it had turned out had known as a civilian before he had become Athene. "And I've done temporary team ups," quite a few of them as it happened given that this stuff, this alter-life wasn't really something that was an alone thing.

"I've heard of the Jovians though" he continued quietly, adding "Tsui - she's part of the PSSG too - has always spoken well of you."

Athene nodded, "She is" he agreed, voice slightly solemn for a moment as he added simply "One of the best." Tsui had always been unhesitating in her support and the Tiger senshi was one of the few on Athene's list of really good friends, for all that that the two were kind of polar opposites personality-wise, Tsui brash and impulsive to his own quiet and reserve.

He listened quietly at Pasiphae's mention of the PSSG or him being able to call on the Jovians should he need, tugging absently on the braided part of his hair before nodding "Thank you, I'll.. I'll let the others know the next time we meet up." He couldn't promise on behalf of the PSSG, not without speaking to the others and although Athene was sure if there was need that the others wouldn't mind helping out he couldn't, wouldn't speak for them without their knowledge.

But he could speak for himself, his lips quirking in one of his slight smiles as he added "I don't mind helping out you guys if you need me to - just let me know." After all he'd never minded, would never mind helping out where he could.

A thought occurred to him and he added, hoping he wasn't being too forward as he added "I'm happy for you to scan me into your senshi phone so that you have my contact details in case you need to get hold of me."

"Not quite" Athene admitted. "I just need a moment" He'd waited to find out if Pasiphae was okay was the idea of phone scanning before making a move to get his own senshi phone out and as a result had been still fishing around for his own phone.

After a moment or two, however, he felt his fingers wrap round the pearl phone charm that hung off his own senshi phone and was able to pull out the jade and bronze phone. His phone fished out he nodded at the Shame senshi with a quiet "I'm ready now."

He'd wait for Pasiphae to scan him in first before scanning the other eternal.

Although Athene recognised the pearl and penny with the star hole in the middle hanging from Pasiphae's phone, the green and gold pendant was unfamiliar, not something that he'd come across. Despite giving it a curious glance Athene didn't comment on it, waiting instead for Pasiphae to scan him before smiling one of his slight smiles at her comment holding up his jade and bronze phone.

It didn't take long to scan Pasiphae into his phone in turn and once the scan was completed Athene carefully tucked the phone away as he asked "Did you have any particular patrol plans tonight?" he hesitated for a moment and hoped that he wasn't being presumptuous as he added, "It's just that I wouldn't mind the company if not."

Despite enjoying talking to the fellow eternal, Athene knew that he should probably resume patrolling soon, however shared patrols tended to be nicer than solitary ones.
