It was cold when Ganymede came to.

She was cold, or the weather was cold. One or the other. Both, maybe. The skin left bare by her tattered fuku prickled with goosebumps. A shiver worked its way through her aching, tired body as she opened her eyes, slowly, to a night that would have otherwise seemed calm except that she could sense the crackling of other energies through the air. There were others close by; she could feel them—their friendly auras, and that sixth sense one always felt (powered or not) when another presence was nearby.

But everything was oddly quiet, and that left Ganymede feeling quite out of sorts considering the last thing she remembered was being in the middle of a large battle. There'd been plenty of noise, shouts and screams that rent the air, and a larger power, much greater than those she felt around her now, that had filled her senses and narrowed her focus. She could not feel it any longer.

That should have relieved her. Instead she worried over the outcome, and silently berated her weakness.

Her eyes fluttered, then opened tiredly. In an instant all the pain adrenaline and unconsciousness had previously dulled assaulted her. Her back felt stiff, and her side twinged and throbbed with each breath. She groaned quietly and shifted as if to find a more comfortable position, but something (or someone) seemed to be restraining her.

“What...?” she tried, and looked around. In her immediate view was familiar green cloth and golden armor. Around her were trees and grass, so she knew they had not yet strayed too far from the park, though she could no longer see the lake.

“What happened?”

Pasiphae barely noticed the cold of the autumn evening, so intent was she on watching her fallen friend. Guilt gnawed through her like caterpillars desperately seeking leaves. She had not suffered much, at all, in the fight. Partially she had avoided damage through the use of shields and dodging... but mostly, mostly she had avoided damage simply by being absent. She had been across town while her allies--her friends--were toiling, soaking up damage and then... Ganymede...

Ganymede had been on the ground, and for a moment, the Shame Senshi had thought her friend was gone. It had been a mere instant, but in that instant was an intense hell. No weapon she had ever withstood, even the ones that had littered her flesh with scars, could ever cut as deep or as permanently as those times when her friends were hurt. She sat beside the page who had joined her in defending Ganymede and chewed on her lip, waiting... waiting for either of her two fellow Jovians to tell her that everything would be okay.

Now, surrounded by Vallhalla and the yet unknown page, she could think of no greater sight then the one before her. To see the blonde coming to, safe, with friends and allies around her, literally brought tears of relief to her eyes as she reached for one of Ganymede's hands, "You're back... thank goodness..."

There was still a lot that needed to be done that night before they could all go home. There was obviously something wrong with Themiscyra’s arm, and Ganymede… well she’d passed out after being hit by something. Valhalla could only hope that no one else he knew had been involved that night.

His face was still white, and he felt sick, but the moment he heard a soft voice from his arms, he could feel a small weight lift from his chest. The way Pasiphae fussed over her made it seem as though Ganymede had just come back from the brink of death. Although, for all he knew, she had.

“You were hit and passed out,” he told her, his voice surprisingly steady, despite feeling like his heart was going to beat out of his chest. Valhalla adjusted his hold on her, keeping her in his arms as if that would somehow protect her any more than not, but didn’t pull her away as Pasiphae reached out for her hand.

“You’re hurt too?” he asked, looking over to the Mars knight with concern, trying to keep himself calm in the midst of everything that just happened. “Themiscyra, this is my teammate, Pasiphae,” he introduced. “Pasiphae, this is Themiscyra of Mars… I’m going to take Ganymede to the hospital… if you wanted a lift, I can drive,” he offered, looking over Themiscyra once more to make sure it was just her arm that was in need of medical assistance. Although he was sure they were all cut up and bruised… His own side ached from where he’d been hit by a spear, but thankfully his armor was a bit more useful there than it had been for his starseed…

“We’ll need to power down once we get to the car… I didn’t know how you felt about that, since you both just met…” he addressed the two once more, hoping Ganymede was still somewhat comfortable in his arms.

The sooner they got as far away as could be from the finally uneventful lake would be all the better to the Martian, and none too soon. Complaints about her wrist were nonexistant at this point, pushing smiles to her face instead of allowing the throbbing pain to read clear. The pain had kept her from sitting all the way down in the grass though. Themiscyra crouched, arms supported by her knees, beside the white and red senshi she could associate now as a friend of Ganymede's. Whom was a definite something to Valhalla. Whom was the one she'd more or less followed into that insanity. Follow one, battle alongside two. She was pretty ok with those circumstances.

Well. Minus Ganymede getting knocked out.

A breath whooshed out of her lungs when the small voice hit her ears, the corners of her mouth lifting a bit more for real this time. Couldn't blame the other girl for her reaction. The way those objects and magics were being flung around, it was hard to say just how bad the damage really was to the blonde. Themiscyra quickly dismissed the thought of what could have happened if anyone was hit in the head with those metal maces.

"Lame redundant, but semi-required, question: how're you feeling?" Trying to at least bring some more light-hearted tones into things didn't change the fact she was worried to how Ganymede was doing. Should they really move her? Anything broken? Her eyes moved up to Valhalla when he questioned her, and her smile turned wary as she gave a slight shrug. "Busted my wrist. Mace hit it." She moved slightly to somewhat lift the arm sporting the dented metal brace over her wrist. The movement sent a few sparks through her system, and she bit back a minor wince. Something told her she wasn't going to like what she found under the metal. "I'm thinking I'll be needing a brace out of costume for it." Wasn't like it'd be her first broken bone if so.

Still, she brought up her other hand in a small wave to the now identified Pasiphae. "Nice to meet ya. Not the worst way to meet, hm?" Because really, seeing someone defend a friend was hardly the worst first impression of that person. Nope, not a bad one at all. One that made her again shrug when the fact hit that if she took Valhalla up on the hospital offer meant powering down in front of the two not-quite-strangers. "I'm fine with it. If you are..?" She looked over to Pasiphae, leaving the ball in her court. Really, Themiscyra being Danika wasn't something she found espcially important to keep under wraps.

The answers she received were somewhat less than satisfying, but Ganymede wasn't in much of a state to do more than wince and groan and shift around uncomfortably.

At least initially.

Normally if she'd found herself in such a position (that being in Valhalla's arms) she might not have contemplated struggling for release the way she did then, but she was in no way reassured that all was well and was determined to see for herself. Just because she could no longer hear the sounds of battle did not mean it was over. In any case, her efforts were largely ineffectual; her condition would not allow her to give it the strength and insistence it probably deserved.

“I don't want to go to the hospital,” she said. That little comment of Valhalla's, at least, managed to make its way through the pain. “I don't... need... to go,” she insisted, but the manner in which she paused for breath and winced again when it caused her side to twinge uncomfortably certainly did not help her case.

“I'm fine,” she tried to reassure them, and stopped herself from pulling her hand away from Pasiphae only because it was Pasiphae. “Fine. Stop worrying. There's nothing wrong with me. I'm just... a little sore.”

She'd felt worse, certainly. Although, she couldn't immediately recall when. (She blamed her lapse in memory on the fact that she'd only just come to and her brain was still a bit sluggish, slow to catch up.)

Pasiphae may have been over reacting, but she could not deny how much fear had been in her heart. After what she had heard happened to Chris at the Carnival, what could have happened to Paris, for all she knew, before she showed up... she took hold of that hand and she squeezed tight. She never intended to let go. Never. Not even now, when relief was spreading through her like a warm cup of cocoa. Her friends meant too much for her to ever let up.

But she was not blinded enough by concern to completely lose courtesy or concern for anyone else. Valhalla was introducing her to the page who had also jumped to Ganymede's aid, a page that she knew to be injured as well in the fight. Giving her fellow Jovian's hand a final squeeze before finally, reluctantly, releasing it, she turned to Themiscyra with a smile. Themiscrya... Wonder Woman's home, and how fitting that the page who represented that location looked, and acted, every bit the part of a warrior queen. "No, although... I wish it had been in a more pleasant place. Battles have a way of bringing members of our cause together but... I much prefer making introductions over pizza or movies."

The Eternal didn't hesitate. As soon as Valhalla mentioned powering down, she closed her eyes and let the finery of Pasiphae slip away. The sooner they all returned to civlian form, the sooner they could get Paris and Themiscyra to the medical attention she needed. Penelope Seneca did not look like much, in comparison, a pale, worried girl in a pink sweater and a pair of dark jeans. But she still mustered up a warm smile for her new ally and potential friend, "I don't mind at all. I'm Penelope. Do you need help getting to the car?"

”You’re going to the hospital,” he insisted, powering down as Pasiphae did. “It might be best to have you come with us, Penelope. We might need an extra hand. The car is a couple blocks away. You parked in the lot for class, right?” Chris asked Ganymede, adjusting his hold on her as he turned to start heading towards the car, although he glanced over his shoulder to make sure the other two were still following.

“Keep an eye out for anyone else who might be hurt, alright? We’ll give them a lift too…”

He said that now, but knew that they were barely going to fit inside Paris’s powder pink bug as it was. He could already imagine how uncomfortable it will be for him to drive it.

“Do you think… whatever they were… are really gone?” he wondered out loud, trying hard not to trip over anything while he carried Ganymede. “Those shadow things…?” It was too quiet for him to be entirely comfortable. For all he knew, they could be hiding, waiting to attack…

But then again… they had been absorbed by the Queen, herself, right…?

And the moon seemed to be… normal now. Or at least there was no eclipse.
