Taking a deep breath of the winter-y, night time air Chariklo had to smile to herself a little bit. It might not be nice to go behind Leto's back the way she was doing, but she had only the best of intentions at heart. Her friend and Captain was stupidly busy and if she wasn't careful would end up doing herself in. Which, as far as the tall blonde was concerned, was more than enough reason to quietly start approaching some of her newer teammates and offering to help train them. She wasn't usurping so much as being proactive!
Sitting in the center of the circle of mirrors where Leto had first taught her to mirrorwalk, Chariklo waited patiently for her fist trainee. The girl wasn't late, but she wasn't exactly early either.
I'll wait a couple more minutes for her before I pull rank, Chariklo thought contentedly as she laid back and rested the back of her hand against folded forearms.

Amytis was running as quickly as she could to get to the meeting place, because god forbid she be late to a training session. She wasn't so very new, but she had been sort of avoiding powering up since that first night, and then her parents had wanted her to come home for the summer and school had been so busy and...well. It wasn't until after the incident with the Shades that she had started doing it regularly.
Training, therefore, was very important, since she really had no idea what she was doing. She screeched to a halt by the circle of mirrors, already breathing a little heavily. "I'm sorry! So sorry!" She said, starting off with apologies because that was probably a good idea.

From her reclining position, Chariklo smiled up at the out of breath girl and gave her a cheery wink.
"Pushing it a little close, aren't you?" she asked in a friendly enough voice. She'd give the other a pass this once. "Well, you aren't super late, so we won't worry about it this time. So. Name?"
Sitting up, she studied the girl and decided that she liked what she saw. A lot. Clearly she was just as much of an original as Chariklo herself and that got her props. Here's hoping she's as interesting on the inside as the outside, the taller woman thought.

"Yes, sorry, I promise I won't be late again, I just got a little turned around..." Though next time, wouldn't she be able to mirrorwalk here, if that was what it came to? That would be helpful, she supposed. She brushed off her dress antsily, and then jerked her head up.
"Sailor Amytis, Senshi of Karma, ma'am," she replied, standing still and putting a hand over her chest as she tried to catch her breath again. Running frenzied to a meeting place was not good for her lungs. "Can I sit for a minute?" She asked, because o just do it would be rude to her teacher.

"Don't be so formal! Sit, sit!" Chariklo motioned for Amytis to have a seat anywhere. "It's not going to do either of us any good if you pass out from lack of oxygen or something."
And then, almost as if it were an afterthought, she added in a mournful tone, "And for the love of Cthulhu, don't call me ma'am. We ain't that much different in age, I'm guessing. I'm Chariklo, okay?"
Grinning to take any sting from her words, she sat up a bit more to study the other girl.
"So, Karma, huh? Sounds pretty interesting. How's it work? Like.. Rule of Threes type stuff or what?"
Running her fingers through her own hair, she couldn't help her next observation. Hopefully Amytis wouldn't be bothered by it.
"Your hair is just like cotton candy, y'know. Makes me think of spun sugar..."
Voice dropping off gradually, Chariklo was clearly chattering to give the other time to catch her breath and hopefully relax. After all, the tall blonde didn't want to terrify her teammate!

Amytis sort of flopped down where she was, sitting so she wasn't flashing her teacher (definitely not something she needed to do) and gave the other woman a very embarrassed smile.
"I didn't mean it that way," she said, and she suspected she might even be older, since she knew she was in the upper range for Senshi. She leaned forward, resting her elbow on her thigh for a moment and placing her chin in her hands.
"Rule of Three, yeah. What goes around comes around? I make people feel the effects from their attacks," though at a reduced level, she assumed.
And then she flushed. "Uhm, thanks?" That was good, right? Having hair like spun sugar?

Make people feel the effects of their attacks? Wincing slightly at the thought of some of the attacks she'd seen or heard of rebounding, Chariklo still managed a little laugh. Just imagine the watermelon brat caught in her own stupid rind thing. Now that was something that Chariklo would need to drag Amytis out to try sometime.
"Sounds useful and amusing," she drawled, just in case Amytis might think the chuckle had been aimed at her. "In all seriousness though, I'm only Ma'am if I'm pullin' rank and giving you a dressing down. Which I am not, so we're cool."
Giving a small nod of satisfaction, the taller girl scooted herself back a little until she could half-lean against Amytis' shoulder. Which she did, grinning slightly.
"So don't mind me. I'm an affectionate sort. I am also nigh impossible to offend, so don't feel like you have to be careful about what you say around me. Ask Leto sometime, she'll confirm I am a born 'n bred wiseass and resident sass talker."
Her grin grew wider as she turned slightly to wink at Amytis, inviting the other girl to share in the joke.

"I haven't had a lot of chances to test it out," Amytis admitted, but her expression was slowly becoming more relaxed. Chariklo was friendly, pretty, and generally someone she wanted to spend more time around.
Even if the contact was a little close and sudden, with the blonde's head on her shoulder and all. "Oh, well, I'll keep all of that in mind," she said. She couldn't help but smile, scooting closer to Chariklo. "So what's on the agenda for tonight? Mirrorwalking practice?" Cuddling practice? She could definitely do that, Chariklo was really cute. It had been a long time since she'd had a genuine crush, but, well...

Hrmm, what could they do tonight? Mirrorwalking practice wouldn't be a bad thing, she supposed.
"Well, we're in the right place for it, I guess. Has anyone explained it to you or anything?"
Thinking back to her own training, she grinned a little. It would be tedious, but worth it. Travel by mirror was something no one in the Dark Kingdom or White Moon ranks could do and Chariklo enjoyed that knowledge. It helped even things out a bit as far as she was concerned.
Reluctantly getting to her feet, the taller girl offered her hand to Amytis to help her up.
"It's really not that difficult to do. And we can keep chatting while you practice."

"Uhm, I know a little, I was Awakened in Mirrorspace so I had to walk out. I've tried a couple times but uh..." She coughed. "Mirrorspace was cool when I visited but I don't...wanna get stuck there..." She looked a little embarrassed. She wasn't even sure that was ossible, but it was something she was afraid of.
She took Chariklo's hand and stood, swallowing nervously. "Okay, well, let's get started then, yeah?"

"You won't get stuck," Chariklo said soothingly. "Now, what we are going to do is practice until we both feel like you're reasonably comfortable doing this. It should feel a little like second nature."
Walking forward, she demonstrated what she meant, walking through one mirror as if it wasn't even there and reappearing from a different mirror in the circle. Remembering her own lessons, Chariklo smiled a little and even chuckled.
"So. Pick a mirror to go into. Take your time and approach it at whatever speed you like. And don't worry if you can't pass through right away. Your brain just needs to learn that mirrors are not an obstacle for us."
The tall blonde paused a moment, thinking. Then, she reached out and gave Amytis a gentle shove between the shoulder blades.
"You can do this. Just remember to have a specific mirror here in mind to come out of while we're practicing. I'd hate to have to figure out a way to rescue you from a random locker room or something."

Amytis nodded, watching as Chariklo mirrorwaled as easy as breathing. "Okay, I can totally do this," she said, though she remained still for a long moment as she selected a mirror.
She stumbled forward a little when Chariklo shoved her, and her decision was made. "I got this, I've done it before, I can do it," she breathed, eyes flicking to one of the other ones and selecting it as her destination. Her steps were slow, hesitant, and she lifted up a hand, resting it on the glass for a moment before she finally did it and stepped through.
Her eyes were wide with surprise when she came out the other one, and she bounced on her heels. "I did it! I actually did it!"

"Indeed you did!" Chariklo applauded. "And you're going to keep doing it until it's just as natural as breathing and walking. When you're ready, do it again and try to speed up your pace a little each time."
Inside, Chariklo was near to bursting with pride. Amytis hadn't bounced off the mirror or allowed doubt to stop her progress. As far as the tall blonde senshi was concerned, the little ginger was an A+ student. And with luck, the rest of the lesson wouldn't take too long and they could get back to just talking and getting to know each other.

Amytis nodded, and then she spun, dartying into and out of another pair of mirrors. Her excitement was obvious - it was so easy, so simple to do! "You know," she said, "this is a lot less scary than I thought."
It was especially helpful to have Chariklo there, encouraging her. She was totally gonna be able to do this! She took another quick bounce through, and then spun when she finished. "Thank you so much for doing this with me!"

NEarly bursting with pride, Chariklo found herself grinning widely as Amytis thanked her for her help.
"Hey, my pleasure, Sugar," she answered with a bit of a wink. "You're doin' great and after a couple more goes, you can stop and relax a bit."
What Chariklo left unsaid was the fact that she very much wanted to drag Amytis off somewhere for some lessons of a different sort. But to be fair, she knew she thought this about almost every cute person she met. Besides, she didn't want to horndog this up and scare off someone who could be a friend if she didn't have to.
