Mt. Ferros Intermediate Rank, Levels 1 - 20 Home to Rock, Ground, and Fire Types Forming a border around the west and south sides of Armonia is a long mountain range known as Mt. Ferros. In truth, Mt. Ferros is a dormant volcano, known for its fertile red soil. It's also a primary source of ore for Armonia. Although it's been many years since the last eruption, that doesn't mean the inside of the volcano is any less dangerous -- Mt. Ferros is full of long, intricate caverns, with a temperature so hot that only Fire, Rock, and Ground Pokemon can navigate it without help. Other Pokemon must obtain aVial of Waterto withstand the heat for more than a few minutes. In an effort to encourage treasure hunters to bring in items for the Gracidea Trading Association, Kasimira has a special promotion going on at her shop, offering Vials of Water for free.

Freunde tilted her head to the side as she entered Mt. Ferros once again, popping her neck in anticipation of what was to come. She had grown quite a bit since her last time here and she wanted to continue to get stronger. When she found a Moonstone, she wanted to be able to use it right away, after all. Becoming big and strong was the best way to help others: if you could rely on yourself without question, then you could help lots of other Pokemon. She was strong now, yes, but there was always room for improvement.

Zubat
A screech welcomed her into the cave, and she bristled as a Zubat swooped down to greet her. She narrowed her eyes and lifted her poison barbs on her back, ready for battle. This was why she had come this time, to fight as many Pokemon as she could. Items were a plus. It was the experience she was after. With a snarl she jumped forward, meeting the target head on.
The Zubat met her poisoned barbs as she used Poison Sting, and that was enough to send it fluttering back to the ceiling, limping as it went. Freunde grinned and shook herself out, pleased with her victory. She hoped it would be the first of many. Taking her Vial of Water for a sip, she continued on into the cave, looking for more challengers.

Numel
It seemed her hopes were well placed today, A sleepy Numel trod across her path, and she smirked just a bit. Ah, it was too easy...she decided to knock some stones to alert the Pokemon to her presence, not wanting to take him by complete surprise. She did just that, moving her tail against some stones before charging the startled Numel. Best to use the element of surprise, even if it wasn't as perfect as it had been before.
A Double Kick sent the Numel on his way without much of a fight, and Freunde let out a little breath of delight. This was fantastic! So far, she had come across two Pokemon. She hoped the rest of her trip would be as successful as this had been so far. She knew it was possible she'd run into some very strong Pokemon in this mountain, but she wasn't afraid. She was strong now, too, and she knew she could take any challenge.
The Zubat and Numel must have warned the other Pokemon of her presence, because Freunde didn't come across any new challengers for a bit. She kept an eye out for movement, but she didn't want to start picking fights with under-leveled Pokemon. That wouldn't be fair to them. She kept her eye out for any objects she might happen across as well, wanting to bring something back for that first Vial of Water she'd taken from the store.

Charizard, +10 EXP
Her solitary walk was interrupted by a roar, and Freunde turned to spot a Charizard flying her way. Ah... a challenger! She brought her feet into a solid stance as the large Pokemon drew closer, a gleam in her eye that spoke of nothing but excitement. She had faced a much more timid Charizard a while back, but now she was ready to meet this one head on. She readied her attack, waiting for the best moment to let it fly.
The Charizard opened his mouth much to far away for Freunde to get an attack in, though, and she ducked as a blast of fire singed her barbs. His point made, the Charizard flew back, leaving a slightly smoldering Freunde to roll on the ground in pain for a few moments, The Vial of Water, thankfully, helped with the mild burns, and she went on her way in a few moments, grumbling about her bows.
Her bad luck with the Charizard didn't dampen her spirits, and a watchful eye led Freunde to a Vial of Water. She picked up with with a smile and tucked it with the one she was using to possibly use at a later date. As fun as this cave was, she'd been here so often that she wanted to explore new places, and a Vial of Water might be just the thing she'd need to go exploring.
It was with a chuckle that she picked up the second Vial of Water. What a lucky break! Maybe she could just give one back to the store...or maybe two. That would be kind, she was sure. She had two back at home that she could still use, and if she continued to find Vials like this, she certainly could afford to give two in return.
A nice Rock sat at her feet as Freunde paused for a drink. She picked it up after a moment, looking at its points and deciding if it was light enough to carry around, but heavy enough to do some damage. Deciding that it was a keeper, she tucked it into her pack before setting off once again. Her burns had completely healed and she was ready for more battles.
Unfortunately, no such luck occurred. Perhaps that Charizard was telling the Pokemon in the cave to stay away from her, because she'd kick their butts if they crossed her path! Ha...well, probably not, but it was fun to think about. She wondered if she'd find any more Pokemon to battle or if this trip would turn into a mild dud.
All right, this was getting to be a little silly. Freunde snorted quietly and spun around slowly, making sure she wasn't missing any lurking opponents. She was very much alone, though, and with a frustrated growl she pressed on. At the very least she wanted to find one more Pokemon to battle! That was all she asked.
