So, this is my original short piece i wrote for a contest and decided to show here just so people can see it. Um, thoughts? And before anyone says, yes I ripped off Organization XIII with the X's in the names, everything else is original. So sue me. /shot.

A is for Asphyxiate
----------

Their scuffles never lasted long--the vestige in power was obvious. She crumpled under her own weight from the force of the hit she took to her chest, clutching over her heart as she struggled to breathe. He was a cruel b*****d. He loved to see her suffer, didn't he? Glaring from beneath her bangs that were oddly coloured, neon pink that morphed naturally to black, she made to stand again.

He loomed over her, providing a swift kick to her stomach to send her crashing over with a gurgling noise as blood spilled past her cracked lips. She was a pretty thing, if not deadly. But he thought she looked prettier when she lain in her own destruction. Perhaps that's the way it was with them; her glory, his destruction. He wanted nothing more than to tear her down until she broke--where nothing was left of her will to fight.

The sounds of boots echoed over the concrete as he walked closer, she didn't move--pain visible on her expression, visible hate could be seen from her green eyes. His lips curled into a smile. Yes, she was definitely prettier when she was ruined. Like a fallen Princess, destined to fall along with her Kingdom. He supposed that made him the terrible Dragon in their twisted Fairy-Tale. Indeed, a Dragon's visage suited him.

"A-Araxis... You b*****d..." She spat, more blood spilling past her lips as she did. She struggled to breathe correctly, she was sure plenty of her ribs had been crushed from that blow. She didn't get much further before his boot shoved her back down by the chest--a scream lurched to her throat, but her pride held it back, but it hissed through her teeth anyway.

He laughed, her resolve never failed to amuse him. Even when he'd gained the edge over her, she never gave in. It made it all the more fun for him, anyway, he hated weaklings that broke easily.

"Xandra... You should know by know that the only reason you're even breathing is because you're not even worth my time to kill, haven't you realized that, yet? Your order is in ruins, no one cares that you're gone and the only one who did is now dead; you should be thanking me, really, that I haven't sent you to hell."

Her eyes widened a fraction. "Ixorl..." She breathed.

"Yes, she's dead. Didn't you know? She died pitifully screaming for it to end as Janix killed her. It was funny, really. You should have seen it," He chuckled, watching her face flush in rage and sorrow.

"You..." She hissed venomously, pushing with renewed strength to stand once again.

Whack. Crunch.

She was sent flying back once again as his boot connected to her jaw. He was fairly sure he could hear the jaw snap when he connected. This time, the scream she'd been holding back came full force.

He walked over to her, bent down and grabbed her by the hair, hauling her to her feet and all she could do was dangle almost lifelessly as she glared through slanted eyes at him.

All he did was laugh again as he let her drop, watching as she struggled to breathe upon the impact with the ground again. He placed his foot over her throat and pressed down into her neck, listening to the garbled noises she made and her attempts to breathe. Her eyes were wide and glossy--panic filled them and it was a beautiful sight to him, watching as her body convulsed and flopped like a fish out of water in an attempt to bring life-sustaining oxygen to her lungs.

"You've been a thorn in my side for so long, Xandra," He started, placing more pressure down onto her neck, watching as her eyes swam and dilated, her grip weakening on his leg from where she'd been trying to push it off. "But now you're nothing anymore. You're not worthy of living, but you don't even deserve to die. The only thing left for you is to suffer. For eternity."

Her vision dimmed, her body was slowing and her mind could no longer think. Her lungs screamed, but even they were becoming numb. The dizziness overtook her and the last thing she saw as her world went black was Araxis' face twisted into malicious laughter.

Perhaps, she thought, she'd been wrong...
