Biography:
Josephine was born in an abandoned haunted church, on the longest night of the year, December the 21st. And it was clear that something was different about her, right from the start. As a baby she had opened her eyes and looked around, yet she had not moved or made a sound. And more disturbingly her young mother had not been able to find a heartbeat. Frightened, panicking and heartbroken the mother left the little baby behind in the church.
Following this Josephine grew up in a poor, crowded orphanage, where she was either bullied or ignored for being different. During all this she discovered what gifts she was blessed, and cursed, with and learned to use them to her advantage. She grew up reading, the books a perfect escape from her own life. That was, until one night the music coming from the theatre next to the orphanage lured her into sneaking inside. What she saw awed her, she fell in love with theatre and returned most every night.
But as time went on she started to see that though both books and theatre created wonderful worlds, where one could be what one was not, being truly different would usually still get someone singled out as evil and a villain. So even though she would forever love these worlds, they held no place for her.
Josphine felt lost and alone in the world for a long time after she had left the orphanage at sixteen years old. She travelled as far as she could to find her own place. Her search led nowhere until one evening, as she was leaving a theatre after watching her favourite show (phantom of the opera). A few people in colourful outfits were handing out leaflets to passersby, and Josephine was handed on as well.
It read “Come one, come all. See a world beyond your wildest dreams. Experience impossible feats. Make your way to our world of wonders, and you will never want to leave!” It was a circus. Josephine decided to visit the following evening. And finally she found what she was looking for. The tents, the lights, the music, the food it al created the atmosphere of being in another world. But far more important to her were the acts. These were performers who’s unique talents made them truly different, and yet here they were accepted and even celebrated.
After that night is was decided, Josephine would do whatever was necessary to be worthy to join the world of the circus.

Circus Talents:
- Dancing.
- Soundless walking.
- Experienced in the art of Movement & Lack thereof
Ghostly Talents:
- Magical light manipulations (Influence lamps+ conjure & move orbs of light)
- Levitation (this skill is limited, it is not true flight, but levitation/air movement up to about 5 meters into the air.)
- Invisibility (this skill is limited, she can fade out of sight for short periodes of time, about 1 minute max)
- Sighted (she can see into the spirit realm, but not speak or interact with the spirits in any way). This skill frightens Josephine so she avoids this by any means she can think of.

"Good evening, it is an absolute pleasure to meet you. I'd be honored to explain a little of what it means to be a Semi-Spirit. I have no scientific name for what I am, and I have never met anyone who was quite the same as me. Now to start at the beginning, how did I become what I am? From what I have learned I am led to believe that when I was born, in an old abandoned haunted church, the magic in that place somehow changed me. My soul did make it to my body, but just not quite in time. As a result I ended up as a being that is somehow stuck between the world of the living, and the world of the spirits.
But please don't be frightened, I am really not that different from any other person. I won't haunt your house, I will not possess your childs doll. I can not walk through walls or influence an other person in any way. Also contrary to believe I do actually have a heartbeat, it is just much fainter then a normal one, and you will only find it if you know where to look.
There are though some things that make me uniquely me.
Like being able to: manipulate light sources, float a few feet of the ground, disappear truly and completely from sight .... and some other things not worth mentioning.
Well as a conclusion I would like to say that I hope to here be able to explore the things that make me fit in with all of you at Le Carnaval de L'étrange, instead of lingering on the things that make me stand out.
