Leora left her house, glancing at a ornate grandfather clock as she did so. It was chilly, but she opted to leave her coat behind, knowing that it wouldn't stay with her anyway. She paused on the porch adjusting one shoe, letting the screen door click itself shut.
She had no idea why she was feeling nervous. She wasn't even sure nervous was the right word. But she didn't feel the sense of collected calm settle over her that was her normal frame of mind when dealing with other people, particularly other people of the male gender.
Still, her heart gave a little decisive thump as she slipped down a quiet residential street. Between one puddle of light and another, she was no longer Leora. She was Lieutenant Teallite. A young agent of the negaverse who had thoroughly screwed up her first patrol. But she hadent exactly screwed it up on her own. Nooo... Her and Aluminite had thoroughly Self Defensed a civilian to death.... In their defense though, he HAD try to throttle them for what he could only perceive as some accidental physical contact.
Still, it was a thought that, through the past week, had never been far from her mind.
She made her way to a little park, one were they had fled, gasping and scared their first meeting. Were the other Lieutenant had held her and let her sob and told her it was all right. The thought brought a small smile to her face, and she strolled to a wooden park bench, lit up by a gently shining over head lamp, and settled down, letting her silly excuse for a negaverse weapon fall beside her onto the bench.
She had arrived a few minutes late, but sense she didn't see the other agent there, she crossed her ankles daintily and watched other park goers stroll companionably along the little paths favored by day by joggers, but in the evening my strolling couples.

James was running late, a fact that he was thoroughly cursing, as he made his way to their meeting spot. He had over-thought his outfit, which was ridiculous in it's own right given they were meeting in their powered state, and then he spent far too long in that red-head's flower shop. He had determined, however, that being late was worth it because he bouquet he held in his hand was perfect.
He slipped into the nearest, empty alley, and let the rush of power and energy overtake him. Inhaling deeply he picked up the bouquet from where he had set it and let his fingers run over the flowers. He had picked an arrangement including a mixture of lavender, pinks, blues and a touch of green. He had spent a fair amount of time researching and reading about the meaning of different colors and he hoped that the colors were suiting.
He felt the p***k of energy centering in the park and he hastened toward it. He was careful to protect the flowers from the wind and as he grew closer to her, he tucked them behind his back so they were hidden from view. "Milady Teallite," He addressed her, dipping his head in a bow. "You look lovely."

Teallite felt him approaching long before she saw him. Such was one of the bonus's of being a powered agent. She turner her head in the direction she felt him coming from, Resting her hand lightly on the bench's arm rest till she saw him round the corner.
She couldn't help the little smile that tugged at the corners of her lips. She knew very well that she looked pretty much exactly the same as the last time they met. Only... maybe without the horrifically tear reddened eyes. But the sentiment still made her insides give a happy little flip flop that she pointedly tried to ignore.
" Thank you, Aluminite " She smiled, getting to her feet as he bowed his head, leaving her teddy bear on the bench behind her, forgotten for the time being. Its not like she could lose the darn thing. " I'm glad you came. " She said, her voice soft. Honestly after the way their last encounter had gone, she wouldn't have blamed him if he hadn't.
It would have made her very sad if he hadn't, a fact that confused her a little, considering they had only just met less then a week ago, but she would have understood.

"I wouldn't be much of a gentleman if I stood you up would I?" He asked, brows knitting together at the thought. It perplexed him to think that she would think he would not show, but he had been late and they hardly knew each other. He frowned slightly at her and shook his head. "To stand you up would be a crime."
He remembered the flowers behind his back and he straightened himself, then extended his hand to her. "I have something for you," he confided, a sly smile on his lips. He cleared his throat, then produced the flowers. "I tried to pick an arrangement as lovely as you, but I'm not quite sure I did that," he looked away, suddenly feeling immensely shy.
Though the lines between Aluminite and James blurred frequently he was reminded, painfully, that much of his confidence came from the power of being a negaverse agent. He struggled around women, much to his ailment, and now while he was trying so hard to impress her he was worried he was growing too nervous to do so.
"Have, uh, you decided where you would like to go?"

" That's true I suppose " She smiled softly, and was turning to pick up her bear when he suddenly produced a lovely arrangement of flowers.
" Oh... Aluminite, they are beautiful " She said, carefully taking the arrangement he handed her. Her cheeks were suddenly colored a light shade of pink, a flush of happiness. Her family ran a Bed & Breakfast, and as such she knew a thing or two about flower arrangements. Oh maybe not the flowers themselves, but how to tell if something was just massed produced from a chain grocery store, or something arranged with care in an florists shop.
This was definitely the latter. And they were simply gorgeous.
She bowed her head to breath in deep the subtle scent of the flowers, before turning her dusky pink eyes back to him, this time a true smile, full and vivid across her face was there ' Thank you. "
She looked from the flowers, to her teddy bear. She dismissed it, the little toy dismissed it. She cradled the bouquet in her arm carefully, careful of the delicate blooms, and stepped so she was standing beside him. She hesitated for a moment, the blush still on her cheeks, and laced her arm through his.
" I was thinking maybe we could just go get something to eat? Or maybe just coffee? There is a little cafe on the other side of the park that I know stays open late " She looked up at him tentatively. He was just so much taller then her, that unless she wanted to crane her neck back she ended up looking up at him from beneath her lashes. She wasn't trying to be coy, he was just so darn tall compared to her.

"It's part of the reason I was late," he admitted, rubbing the back of his head. "Which I'm sorry for, by the way," he added when he realized he hadn't apologized for being late. "I'm not the best at time management," he admitted, complete with an embarrassed shrug. It was a poor habit to have, considering he was a student-teacher on the verge of graduating but the new secret addition to his life had shaken things up. Organization had long gone out of the window.
"I'm glad you like them though, I'm hoping they say all the right things," he told her, laughing lightly. While he had spent hours reading about flowers and their meanings it was very possible that he had still managed to get it wrong, but he tried and he figured it counted for something.
Her arm interlaced with his and he moved so that his hand rested upon the top of hers. "Coffee then dinner?" He suggested as a compromise. Plus, if he was honest, he had an addiction to coffee and would never say no to an outing that lead to it. "We'll snag a pastry or two while we're there," he offered, letting his long legs guide them towards the cafe she spoke of.
It wasn't until he decided to sneak sideways glances at her while they walked that he realized how much he towered over her. He had always been tall, and lanky, but he hadn't been in the company of someone so small in some time. It made him grin because it was giving him all sorts of idea for other things he could do on their next date.
Oops. There he went planning ahead.

" Its quite alright, I was a little late myself, you were only a few minutes after me " She said, charmed that he would get caught up in a flower shop, picking out a bouquet for their date. " They are perfect " She turned her eyes back to the lovely splash of colorful blossoms in her arms, a smile still on her face.
Because that was what it was, really. The thought made her heart do another funny little flip flop.
" That sounds wonderful to me ' She said honestly. She may be out of habit more of a tea drinker, but part of the reason for that was she seemed completely incapable of brewing decent coffee herself. Which meant she thoroughly indulged in a blissful cappuccino any time she was at a coffee shop.
Used to having to keep up with the pace of taller people, she kept up fairly easily, even in her heels. Because, lets face it. Almost everyone was taller then her. And she had extensive practice walking in heels.
She flicked her eyes up, catching him watching her with a silly grin on his face, which in turn made her grin. It was contagious " Whats so funny? Do I have like lipstick on my face or something? " She asked, a thread of laughter in her voice. Was it even possible to have messed up makeup while powered up?

James was not one for tea, mostly because he drank coffee frequently which meant that he struggled with finding a tea strong enough. It didn't mean that he wouldn't drink it, because really he wasn't picky, but he strongly preferred his coffee.
"Oh," he looked at her, bashful, "Nothing." It was true, there wasn't anything in particular that was making him grin. "No, no!" He said quickly, fingers splaying up in the air. "You look perfect, I was just," he paused, that frown of his returning, "I was justthinking of things we could do if we went on another..." He stopped, his voice having grown quieter until it was nearly inaudible. He didn't want to call it a date because even if it was obvious that they were on a date they hadn't called it a date. And he didn't want to make assumptions. "In case we went out again," he finished finally, settling on the most neutral way of phrasing it.
Then he realized how quickly he had been walking, he blamed it on the anxiousness threatening to consume him. "Ah, I should slow down. We have all night, I don't need to drag you behind me again," he joked, trying to keep things light and airy. They were only a few yards from the cafe by now. "I don't want to rush anything," he admitted, looking down at her with a lopsided smile. "Because this is nice," he made a slight gesture towards both of them.

" Aaaah.. Well, I admit myself curious as to your ideas. Especially if they make you grin like that. " And it was true, it had been a precious grin, Sweet. Not lecherous or creepy, which is what she had come to expect on dates. " But I wont ask, keep it a surprise for if we go out again on another date. " She didn't bother to shy away from the word. He had given her flowers, there was no need in her mind to skirt around it, though she did watch him from beneath her lashes as she said it, looking to see if he would freak out.
Some guys didn't like the pressure of an evening being labeled a date, and she wondered if maybe he was one of them?
He slowed his pace down to one that was much more comfortable for her much shorter legs. " Ah well I figured maybe it was A-purpose. You do seem to make a habit of dragging me around. " She teased him lightly, though her mind rallied away from thinking to much of their first meeting.
She tilted her head, looking up at him, a small grin on her lips to match his own " It is, isnt it. " She said, wondering at the fact that she actually felt comfortable with him. Teallite rarely felt at ease with people even remotely her own age. It was a little bizarre that even with the horror of the other night, she still felt like she was content. Like she was curling up with a one of her favorite books in her room. Not uncomfortable and distant, Like when she listened to someone ramble on about the Kardashians or something equally ridiculous. It was refreshing, and a little bit unnerving.
Her heels clicked on the sidewalk as they approached the cafe, a sweet little affair content with mostly tables meant to sit two or three people, areas meant for larger groups set with armchairs and sofas clustered in the corners. There were a few people outside, cozied up on various outdoor furniture, most not even sparing a glace to the two lieutenants, occupied with their own company.

"Well, you'll have to wait," he teased, unable to hide the large grin on his face. She made him feel giddy, it was different than any other feeling he'd have when on dates with girls. Maybe it was the circumstances in which they met that left the butterflies fluttering in his stomach. And then she said it, the word he'd been carefully skirting around because he didn't want to freak her out but she said it, and suddenly his nerves dissolved. "I think I would like that, if you would," he admitted, adverting his gaze while his cheeks flushed red. His shyness was getting the better of him.
She made him chuckle and he rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed. "I'll try to break that habit, promise." He was grinning widely again. "Perhaps I could carry you around instead?" He suggested, slipping behind her and almost scooping her off her feet. He didn't however and instead reached around her to tug the glass door open.
He bowed slightly, "After you milady."
Okay, he was going a bit overboard but he wanted to make a good impression. It was really, really important.

" I would like that to. " She said, her own face blushing a pretty rose pink that almost matched her eyes. She stole a glance face, eyes averted and charmingly embarrassed, and felt her heart do a little flip-flop. Well that was a new feeling.
" Its alright, Ill admit I don't particularly mind when its you dragging me around. ' She said, a small smile tugging the corners of her lips upwards, which turned into a quiet little squeak as Aluminite slipped behind her and teasingly mocked getting ready to scoop her up. The squeak was a horribly girly sound that under other circumstances she would be horrified to hear from her own mouth, but she was currently distracted by her mind running wild with horribly romantic images of him carrying her away like some great hero out of an ancient epic story. Something back in the times were horses were the main mode of transportation and people referred to themselves as Ladies and Lords.
And then he bowed to her as he opened the door, and it did not help her mental image. The tall chocolate haired young man already struck a rather romantic figure on his first impression, having pulled her away from danger and escorting her home like a proper gentleman. It was like someone had pulled a adorably boyish character right out of a book and plunked him down in the middle of destiny city. It was not an entirely outrageous thought considering their daily life, though highly unlikely. So Teallite did what she did best. She rolled with it.
Taking the edges of her ruffled skirt in hand she preformed a slight curtsy like she had done it hundreds of times. Which she had. Someone simply did now wear as many lace and ruffled dresses as she did without knowing how to properly curtsy.
" Thank you, kind sir. " She said, pretending not to notice the proprietor of the cafe watching them with a large smile, as if she found the whole spectacle simply adorable.

He entered after her, a goofy grin across his face and a his cheeks flushed in embarassment that they'd gotten an audience. He took her hand again quickly, eager to be in contact with her as he lead her to the counter and lifted his gaze to the menu.
Everything looked great-- they had a variety of pastries and sandwiches, plenty of drinks.
"Please get whatever you want Teallite" He told her quietly, ears reddening as he squeezed his fingers around hers. He knew, right then and there, that he'd give her whatever she asked for in a heartbeat. She made his heart thump against his ribs and his stomach flip and turn in ways it hadn't in a long time.
He'd dated girls before, but none had made him feel as weightless as she did.

Teallite smiled up at him, feeling dainty and lady like, not just small. Maybe it was because he was so much taller than her, but because her fingers were held so carefully in his she felt safe and comfortable, and it made her lean towards him comfortably when they reached the counter, carefully cradling her flowers in her free arm.
" Uuum... Ill have a Cappuccino and... a Russian tea cake? " She said, eyeing the tiny little round, power covered treats. They were a secret obsession of hers, they were simple to make, and she made them for the Bed and Breakfast often, but there was something about the ones at the Cafe, which looked all modern, with dainty leaves drawn on them with airbrushed power color. They weren't that expensive, but they were delicious, and usually came in sets of three.
In all honesty, she had been on few dates before. Most of them she did not remember fondly, something going horribly wrong by the end of the evening, either feeling pressured or judged... but none of them had started with such a feeling of euphoria. She felt safe and comfortable, and excited and nervous all at the same time.
She was having a seeking suspicion that this was how a date was supposed to go. And it had barely started.

Aluminite fished out his wallet with his empty hand, thumb sliding his card out with a practiced ease-- he often carried too many books in his arms that he only had one free hand when trying to pay for things. "May I get a raw sugar latte with Almond milk please," he ordered, gaze sweeping over their display case before settling on a pastry, "and a coffee cake."
The old lady behind the counter was smiling sweetly at them as she fished out the pastries, setting them on decorated plates before typing things into the register. Her companion, a bright-eyed young man whom Aluminite believed was her grandson, began to make their drinks. "Will this be for here?" The old lady asked, glancing up at him from behind her glasses even though he was certain she knew the answer.
"Yes please," he nodded, squeezing Teallite's fingers, and offering her his card. Once paid, he slipped it back into it's proper slot and the wallet returned to his pocket so that he could sign the slip, adding a three dollar tip for the lady's kindness.
"I've got to warm the coffee cake up, but find a seat and I'll bring everything out to you." The lady said, waving him away when he opened his mouth to protest.
"Shall we?"
