Parushta coughed against the swirl of sand to his face. The drift sent little pebbles up his nose and into his eyes until he stopped to give into the small fit. He could feel sand settling into the wounds on his neck. His voice felt scratchy enough without the pebbles. He danced on the spot, long foal legs going every which way, tossing his head up to try to fling the stones out. There was never a river or pond around when he needed it. Where he was going water would only be an unwelcome guest to the sleeping Pharaohs. Water seeping into their tombs, soaking into their bodies would only ruin the mummification process. They no longer needed the moisture. Not like Nefertari did.

It was because of his mummy mother that he was out here. It seemed Mosenth, her little servant, was doing something in Necropolis. What Paru didn't know. And wasn't sure he wanted to know. But since he had to go looking for the small stallion the foal guessed he would find out soon enough what was up. Paru just hoped Mosenth wasn't up to old tricks. He wasn't sure how he felt about his heritage, however it was never nice to witness someone looting the final resting places of your ancestors.

Despite being a foal, Paru didn't feel like one. Almost since the very day he was born, he had been selected for a special purpose. What that was he wasn't sure. All he knew was his mother Nefertari had taken a special interest in him. She trained his body and mind. Tested his strengths and weaknesses.

Almost like she was readying him for battle.

The very thought made the foal shiver despite the extreme heat around him. He didn't want to fight. He just wanted to be himself. Whatever that was. But he did know it wasn't a fighter.

Not far off was the one he sought. At least Paru could hear him. The telltale c***k of gold and silver that seemed to follow the horned stallion wherever he went echoed off the walls of the cliffs to either side of him. He was inside a tomb. Why was he inside a tomb? The foal found it difficult to belief his mother would agree to this picking of her ancestors. Maybe this was a test, to see if he would rat on the small stallion.

Unless Nefertari had ordered him to sack a certain tomb. Like that of his uncle.

Just as quickly as the thought appeared, Paru pushed it back. That would be impossible. That was one of the first things the mummy Queen had taught him, to be wary of any other mummies he seen walking the lands. They were not a common sight. The chances that random mummy could be his uncle was too likely for comfort. And since he was walking, that meant either his tomb was guarded or he had sacked it himself. Nefertari had also told him this.

Which left Mosenth's activity questionable. Still...He had been asked to find the servant and he was a Prince. Mosenth wouldn't touch him for fear of both his mothers.

Following the sounds, Paru peeked around the corner to a long tunnel that sloped down into darkness. Four bright lights, winking in and out of existence, shone in the darkness. The chinking continued, growing louder and louder as the figure approached. It didn't stop until it was engulfed by the light and only than to stretch before backing up more, dragging a sack along the ground. Moving back against the outer wall of the mountain, the foal waited for the stallion to emerge before letting his presence known.

The tiny stallion was stood in the old tomb, searching around it for anything of value. This was not on Nerfertari's orders that he was poking around old tombs. When she could find nothing for him to do, or she gave him a job without a limited time to do it, he would sometimes take a detour back to the tombs to raid. Since coming to the service of the Pharaoh, Mosenth had found a new, fairly hidden tomb to hide his latest treasure in. Seeing as he had lost his old when he became a servant.

Servant. The taste left bile in his mouth. A favored, privileged servant. But a servant nonetheless. And now she had him training her son in being sneaky. Not that he blamed her. He was the best at going unnoticed. But how he was to teach an undead foal how to go unnoticed was beyond him. At least Parushta had one advantage. He didn't smell like most dead things will. Only like the sands. Dry. It made him long for the grass. The winds blowing the leafs on the trees. The sound of a brook over the rocks. Anything but this constant dryness in the air.

Wrapping his teeth around the opening of the sac he had just finished filling, Mosenth pulled with all his small might towards the entrance to the tomb. The map left a track in the sand that had blown in from the opening. He had stumbled upon this one many weeks ago, but had not found the time to explore it. What with all the jobs Nefertari had need of him doing since the birth of her children. If one could call it a birth. He would have liked to have seen this. How did something dead give birth to more dead?

As the light broke upon his back, making his runes glow brighter in the sun's brilliance, a voice yelled directly behind him. The stallion jumped, dropping his loot. It hit the ground. A pearl slide out from the opening, rolling down to pass between the hooves of the Pharaoh's son. Mosenth inwardly cursed. At least the foal would be easier to lie to than the Pharaoh.

"Back for another lesson, kid?"

"The Pharaoh said you needed my assistence."

Mosenth inwardly cursed, again. Assistance? Nefertari hadn't tasked him with anything lately. And it wasn't possible that she knew of what he had been doing under her nose. Right?

Putting on a small smile, the stallion turned his head to view the foal, standing up straight and waiting like a good Pharoah's son was taught to do.

"Sure, kid. I got something for you to do."
