With the sight of the sunken city still fresh in her mind, Des'tai hurried through the currents, popping her head above the surface every once in a while. Hours had been spent at the ruins. Or days, it was hard to tell sometimes when she got something into her head. Potential was coursing through her veins, making her heart rate increase until she was breathing heavily. There was something magical about the place, like it had been just sitting there and waiting for her to find it. All the little houses. The larger buildings. The design, the simple design. The kelp and the coral attaching to it like a sucker to a shark. It was all perfectly designed to fit her need. A need she never realized until now. And wasn't quite sure of what.

For the moment, she forgot herself, frantically searching the waters for any piece of kelp drifting in the current too far above the ocean floor. Or the end of a rope. Only when she was totally out of breath and had to stop did she see him. Forcing herself to stop, she floated silently to allow herself to catch her breath. He'd seen her worse in the past but that didn't mean she enjoyed showing herself looking so unladylike.

So she waited until she was calmer, her breathing back to normal, before sliding up next to Llyr and butting his cheek with her nose, putting her hooves gently on the side of his body. Whether it was love or not that always seemed to make her into a filly when he was near mattered little to her. She was how she was.

Besides, no one was worthy of her affections.

"I found something that may interest you, my darling."

User ImageLlyr was adrift asleep, as often he spent his listless days. A body that once held tremendous power was now this sunken, water logged thing. While he still felt powerful, something was...missing. The respect he used to garner was gone. Gone were the days when he was feared. When he was worshiped.

Though he was not completely alone...

No, Des'tai was around every now and then and though she was the tricky sort, he felt a sort of kindred loyalty from her. He was not sure how wise it would be to turn his back to her...But...For now she was the only light in the haze of darkness he found himself in.

He awoke at the sound of her approach, dim eyes flashing open to catch sight of the familiar blue and white, the delicate red that framed her as she swam so very elegantly.

The faintest hint of a smile tugged at the corners of his lips at the sight of her and he turned his face to gently nuzzle hers in return, his tail curling around his back to gently caress her hooves in greeting.

"No formalities? You must be very excited," he commented in amusement, "What is it, my sweet?"

Des'tai closed her eyes at the attention, blowing out a small stream of bubbles through her nose. Her own tail floated leisurely below, swaying back and forth more from the current than her own movements. Llyr was the only one allowed to get this close to her. Often times she forgot how nice it was to just float like this with a warm body next to her.

But enough of that sentimental stuff. She had special news.

"I hope you forgive me for not bowing, your Majesty," the blue and white mare teased, butting his cheek with her nose playfully. "I have found sanctuary."

Is okay. I am in full on muse failure so...we shall see what I write.

Llyr's own face held firm against her affection and he returned it, gently resting his own nose against hers before moving his snout up to rest lightly upon her forehead, brushing her lips against her skin ever so lightly. The only time he felt warm was when he was with her.

Her news made him open his eyes and pull away before looking deeply into hers, searching for the truth in her words. Sanctuary...A new place to call his home. A start of his new kingdom. Was it truly possible?

Llyr checked himself. This sudden, rash burst of thought was not like him. He was a star of stoic nature who prided himself on thinking before acting. Something about this mare always made him..excitable. It was a rare feeling and he had yet to decided if it was one that he liked or not. Still, it was better than the empty nothing the rest of his time was filled with and he was thankful that she had changed his hollow world.

"Perhaps, my lady, I will consider forgiving this transgression," he teased in reply before carefully choosing his next words.

"That bodes well. What is this sanctuary you have found?" If it was indeed as promising as she had made it seem, then they could explore it and perhaps celebrate her findings.

He ran his back fin idly over her hooves once more with a gentle, slow swish in an absent-minded gesture of affection. Llyr was distracted by her new prospect and eager to hear more...If he could once again begin his kingdom...
