It was a gray morning as dark autumn clouds covered the sky. Trees with now mostly-bare leaves reached up, and the whole scene outside just roared 'cold and hell.' But none of that really mattered to an equally cloud-gray-haired man, as he lay in early morning post-coital bliss with one arm wrapped around the love of his life, holding him to his side. Rough autumn winds rattled the window, and he looked over at it with a casual glance. "We going to look at pups at the pound today?" That had been the plan, hadn't it? It was rare that Billy had two days off in a row, especially with the holiday season at hand, but he did, and this was something that had been planned for a bit of time now. If one looked on the coffee table in the livingroom, they'd find numerous classified ads for both pets and houses, as well as flyers for houses for sale, all which they'd continuously poured over, despite yet having the funds. Soon, Billy thought, too content in this moment to be truly bothered.

Ladon both hated and loved autum days. He didn't enjoy putting his feet down to a cold floor, and having to go out in bitter rain and wind. So far, he had been lucky that he hadn't gotten sick, but patrolling was cut in order to avoid going out on the really bad days. The good thing about the miserable weather were times like this. There were excuses to stay in bed longer, and while the summer had days that, no matter how much you loved someone, you couldn't bear sleeping beside due to the heat, the fall and winter were made for leeching off the heat of your partner.
With the wind rattling their windows, Ladon only curled in closer, as if pressing close would make him warmer, and let his legs tangle with Billy's as he tried to go back to sleep. Days when Billy was off meant they could stay in bed all they wanted. They could even have a nice dinner together.
"hmmm..." He mumbled before looking up from the pile of blankets they were nestled under. When the words finally sank in, he rose a little more, but not by much (else cold air would rush in between them). "Really? I thought...well, I thought we would wait. Ya know. Until we got a little closer to getting our own place." They had looked at many retail booklets and ads for both dogs and houses, but it had all seemed rather distant. Sure, the dog was possible, but it came with the the tie that it would come with the house.
Despite this, even he couldn't deny he REALLY liked the idea of spending a cold day looking at cute dogs, even if they didn't get one. It was a nice outing.
Smiling, he laid back down. "Sure. I'd like that." He grinned a bit more. "We can make it a date." Not that he felt that was needed, as they were already very much together, but sometimes it was fun to name things like that.

Billy laced their fingrs together, while rubbing Ladon's back with is other hand. "Just because we're looking, doesn't mean we have to buy." Which was kinda the usual actually - shopping, unless it was for necessities, was usually more looking than actually buying. Looking didn't hurt, and it helped to give one a more clearer view of what they wanted, and what was realistic. When Billy would pass by the jewelry department at the store he worked at, he'd already known a real diamond wasn't realistic. Emeralds would have been his next go-to, but that was almost even more expensive. He was warming up to the thought of a nice sapphire. Now he was deciding between a classic blue sapphire, or one that simply looked like a diamond... Regardless of color, Billy had looked in to the actual meaning of the stones as well, which was perhaps what drew him closer to his decision. "Stone of Destiny," and said to contribute to mental clarity and perception. Sapphire represent truth and loyalty, to wear one is to show devotion and faithfulness. But that would come after the house. After the dog. After things were all settled. maybe he was simply biding time.... "So then, we should get cleaned up. Get dressed. We can catch breakfast out. I've kinda been wanting some Waffle House.." He said, althouh making no move to get up himself. It wasn't like they couldn't just make whatever they'd get there, but it was less mess for them to clean up. And Billy admittedly kinda enjoyed the atmosphere. Especially on these blustery autumn days.

He turned his face, pressing it against Billy in mumbled protest in having to get out from the comfortable warmth. "Waffle House sounds good." Getting some warm to eat together and watching the world outside roar when you were warm inside was always nice. It still meant leaving the bed.
"The bed's warm." He mumbled, before looking up, blurry-eyed, and leaning up to kiss Billy, missing his mouth directly and kissing half of it. "You're a nicer heater." Among other things he was good at.
Grabbing the covers, he looked at the window that rattled by the force of the wind. "Going to be freezing outside." He looked back at Billy. "Good thing we went to the laundry mat yesterday instead of today." They had fresh long-sleeve shirts and 2nd hand sweaters to wear. "Are you taking a shower?" He asked, meaning if he was, he'd probably join no matter how small the shower was. It saved on water and was probably the only way they would both get hot water - among it's many other benefits.

"Nah, the shower is all yours." He'd just do a quick run with some warm water and a wash cloth. He wasn't that dirty, regardless of their earlier morning activities, anyway. "I'll pick out our clothes," Billy said with that look in his eye that just said trouble. One couldn't trust that look, though. Billy just liked to tease and keep people on edge, and Ladon was such am amusing target. Then he unceremoniously swept the covers off the bed. Muahahaha. Evil.

Ladon did not trust that look, and narrowed his eyes back at Billy in a way that said he was watching him. "Okay. Just make sure it's warm." If Billy came back with some tight t-shirt and shorts, he was not going to go outside. He wanted something worn, soft, and warm.
The sudden removal of the blankets made Ladon jerk all limbs in, yelping at the sudden cold that, from being warm and rather worn out before, assaulted him by the frigid cool. "Geezus!" He shot Billy a glare. "You're evil!" He threw his pillow at him, all the while cupping himself as best he could as he wasn't dressed. Without covers, he picked up another pillow and used that as a shield. "I'm taking a shower then."
He walked away, trying to use the pillow as best he could to cover his front while still being aware of his exposed back. Stupid Billy making him cold like this. :C

Out of the shower before the water turned cold, Ladon walked in with a towel tied around his waist. Even though he didn't think much about himself and though he was average on all accounts, he sometimes took a small bit of pride at the slender muscle definition he gained through the years as a Nega. Then he would notice the scars and the burn up his neck and ear and stop looking at himself all together.
He riffled through the dresser before slipping into a pair of green boxers and rubbed his hair with the towel once again to get as much water out and looked at Billy, approved, and also was relieved at his picked out clothes. Putting them on along with a pair of thick socks, he moved over to slip his cold fingers under Billy's shirt as he leaned against and smiled up at him. "I found a nice mitten." He said as he looked at Billy, using him to keep his hands warm.

If Ladon could see what Billy saw, then there would be no shame. Billy made no secret of how great he thought Ladon looked. Billy's own body was built sturdier than Ladon's, and had become toned on top of that. But like-wise, he had his own scars. But when he looked at his own scars, he thought nothing. Not shame nor pride, simply indifference. "Hmn, I guess I should just be glad those cold hands of yours went up my shirt in stead of down my pants," He teased. "So, I didn't do too bad picking out your clothes, did I?" A smug smile followed as Billy combed back his hair.

Ladon thought about it and the idea of dropping his hands lower. It was true that it was probably warmer. He stilled his hands a moment before slowly lowering them down Billy's back, though he pretended that he wasn't paying attention to his own hands.
"You did do a great job. You look very handsome." He smiled, knowing Billy had meant Ladon's outfit. With a little slip of his hands, he moved past the band of Billy's slacks to hold the plush and notably warmer backside.
Omg! I can't believe I'm just holding him like this!

Billy did not miss the sliding of hands, though luckily by now they were not as cold as before. he seemed to pay little mind. "Well, I do try." Billy always dressed well, save for his sleepwear. It was like compensation for his station in life, to dress better than his ranking on the social ladder. He had standards when it came to his wardrobe, and it was either meet those, or nothing at all. Which he wasn't ashamed to walk around the apartment stark naked either. But, they'd already been over that. "So, to Waffle House, then. I hear a bacon egg and cheese melt calling my name."

"Mmm. I want pancakes...or bacon and eggs. I don't know yet." He had time to decide. Slowly removing his hands away from his boyfriend, he went to go put on some shoes, and then grabbed their jackets, handing Billy his and making sure the place was very locked before they headed out. They took the stairs, and once they left the apartment building, were welcomed with a cold wind that whipped through the streets.
Grabbing Billy's arm, he slipped his hand in his and leaned into him, walking alongside him. "You think it might snow before Thanksgiving?" He asked, looking up at the cold clouds rolling above.

"Anything seems possible in this damn city," Billy answered. It seemed nothing was beyond the realm of impossibility anymore. A brisk walk, catching a bus, and walking some more, and finally Billy opened the large glass door of the Waffle House for Ladon. The warmth the rushed out the door was pleasant, and he could feel his stomach rumble in hunger. "Looks like there's a free small booth over there," he said as they entered the establishment.

The trip here had been short but felt much longer, and the bus hadn't been all that warm either. Once inside, Ladon rubbed his hands, feeling the warmth prickle his flushed cheeks before he spotted the free booth. "Lucky." He said, glad they wouldn't have to sit awkwardly on stools at the bar.
Moving over, he slid into the booth and smiled at a waitress came over and handed them their menus. "What would you two like to drink?" She said, waiting poised with her order book.
"Tea. With honey." He needed something hot to drink, and didn't want to torture himself with coffee.
Picking up the menu, he unbuttoned his coat with his other hand.

"Coke," Billy replied. Coffee was only good if he got to brush his teeth right after. He wasn't a fan of the aftertaste. Or breath. Billy hardly had to look at the menu, he already knew what he wanted, but he'd wait to order until Ladon had decided, settling instead to blow the paper off of hi straw and at Ladon's forehead before sticking the straw in the glass.
