The very worst part about living in a school dorm was not being able to go home all of the time to see your pets. The best part of the school being so close to home, however was the freedom to walk there whenever possible, so you were never too far away from the dogs anyway. Melissa made it part of her routine on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights to head home and at least walk the dogs. The weekends were a given, since she went home for them anyway, but on weeknights, she used at least three to see her precious pups.
Tonight had been no exception and she was on her way back from her house, trudging along back towards Crystal Academy and to her not-so-comfortable dorm bed. She gave a little sigh, twirling the end of one of her braids around a finger. At least Winter Break was coming up so she could go home then and be with her family and the dogs more. She missed them. It was so hard trying to bond with a dog that you only get for a year, and only getting to spend a few hours a week with them because of school.
It just wasn’t a fair thing!
Melissa heard a sound behind her and looked around, seeing a small, vaguely dog looking creature. Oh! It was a puppy!
She had no idea that there really were monsters in the city, and had even less of an idea that this was one of them, so of course she went right over, crouching down and holding out a hand. “Hi there. It’s okay! You can come over here if you’d like. I love dogs.”
The teal haired teen smiled encouragingly at the youma and of course the creature came over. Melissa had no idea that anything was really wrong until the creature clamped its jaws down on her hand.
She screamed.Bluefire Dragonz I thought maybe Ida could dust the youma quickly! 3nodding Kaori_luv And then Sheena could awaken her so she can protect herself! whee

"Get away from it!"
So close... Ida had seen the youma and had been chasing it. She'd followed it for blocks, struggling to stay with it as it darted back and forth and through, always finding a crevice to squeeze into where she couldn't find it... but she had always managed to catch up to it again. It had escaped her again this time, using its smaller size to slip under some bushes. She had found it again in short order, but there had been a girl there, reaching out to it... and she had been so close to reaching her before it snapped at her hand, but just not close enough.
Dashing across the short distance, the senshi gave the dog-like monster a hard kick in the stomach to separate it from the girl, turning to bend down and help her up by her upper arms. She heard it slam into the ground behind them and hoped that the kick had been enough to stun it, at least for a little while.
"Are you okay? How badly did it get you?" The senshi said in concern, inspecting the hand that had been bitten, pushing her hood back from her face. She hadn't seen any youma with venom, but that didn't mean there weren't any... They came in all shapes and sizes, all kinds of monstrous things... Ida glanced back, watching to be sure the youma wasn't sneaking up behind them while she was concerned for the civilian.

Sheena felt an unawakened senshi in the area or at least she was pretty sure she did. Unfortunately she had yet to be able to find said senshi and a youma had come into the area. The little monster always meant trouble and she Sheena had a job to do. She needed to find the senshi, though she suspected that if she found the youma she might be able to find the unwakened one.
She started off toward the youma signature she wasn't far and after a few minutes she felt an eternal come into the area and pass her. Just before she rounded the corner she heard a scream and a shout and she was certain she found what she was looking for.
She charged right up to the pair recognizing Ida and her intuition tingled at her making her suspect the girl that was with the senshi was the one she was looking for. "Ida, don't worry I'll watch her, you dust that thing before it gets back up."
Sheena smiled at the eternal she'd only seen at Maia's training session. She liked how many senshi and knight they'd helped her meet. She then turned to the girl, "hope I didn't frighten you. I know its not everyday one meets a talking cat."Elite Sushi Sorry for the long wait, I actually lose the link and didn't even know I had it to tag crying

It had been a good thing for Melissa that there were not just one, but two other people in the area to come to her aid. After the girl in purple got the rather mean dog to get off of her, she looked up, face white with some bit of fear. “It bit me. The dog bit me, I don’t understand. I’m normally great with dogs.”
The girl looked at her hand and flinched just slightly as she really took in just how deep the teeth had sunk into her skin. If this scarred, she would be in so much trouble.
“I um. Thank you for helping me, I appreciate it but you didn’t have to kick the dog, really. He was just scared I’m sure!” The teal haired teen made to move back towards the dog. It wasn’t his fault that he bit her, seriously. He was just a cute little thing that needed some love, that was all. Maybe she could take him to the shelter and they could find him a home and that would be that.
She hadn’t gotten more than a step away when she heard another voice and blinked, looking around. She hadn’t seen anyone else enter the area, but there was a voice, plain as day. Finally, something in her told her to look down, even though it was most likely a stupid thing to do, and there was a cat. A cat looking up at her. A cat saying something to her, almost making a joke about how strange it was to meet talking cats.
Melissa blinked once, then twice and finally she just shook her head. This was a dream. That had to be it. There was no way in reality that she would get bitten by a dog, saved by a hooded girl and talked to by a cat all at one time. Nope. It was a dream.
She smiled blithely down at the cat and finally knelt beside her. “Yeah okay. Hi.”

The hooded senshi patted the girl's hand as she shook her head.
"Its not really a dog, sweety, its a monster." She said before she left the girl to the cat's care, hoping she had the good sense to stay there... or was at least distracted enough by a talking cat to stay there. The youma was easy to take care of, at least... as an eternal senshi, all but the strongest youma were no match for her power.
"Heavenly Orchid Arrows!" Ida called as she threw up a hand, a trail of petals following her hand. A bow formed in their arc and she grabbed it, pulling back the string with her other hand. A glowing arrow formed and she released it, the shining arrow roaring towards the beast as it climbed back onto its feet. It exploded as it struck, knocking the monster back with the force of it. Ida frowned as she stared at it, hoping perhaps only one arrow would take care of it.

Sheena looked to Ida briefly as she explained that what the girl thought was a dog was anything but. She nodded her confirmation, "that's right, it is a monster, though the technical term would be a youma. They can take on many different forms, usually none so friendly as that one."
Sheena pointed to Ida as she called out her attack, "look. That girl over there is what you would call a senshi a defender of justice who draws strength and power from Ida up in the stars."
She cleared her throat slightly wanting the girl's attention on her now, "I have a very good feeling you may very well be another." She looked intently at the girl thinking for a moment before it came to her. Sailor Claudia, senshi of Almond. Hmmm."

Melissa had to admit that the girl in purple, the senshi or whatever the cat called it was rather a bit more interesting than a cat, even if the cat was a talking one. Sure it made the dream a little more exciting to have talking animals, but to be perfectly honest, cats just weren’t as good as dogs were, so that was that.
Finally she decided to give the cat her full attention, as the creature seemed to be getting impatient, of course, then she heard the words that she very well might be another. Another what? Like the girl in purple, well of course that was the case. In dreams, she was always center stage. “Well, so you’re saying that I’m going to have to fight cute innocent dogs too?”
Because clearly the dog was not in the wrong in this situation, and clearly in her dream she could change how the events were going to go. But, to be perfectly honest it hadn’t felt like a dream when she had been walking home. In fact, hadn’t she been on her way to bed? Maybe she fell asleep on the way, or the dog had mauled her more than she had realized.
The teen looked down at her hand and blinked slowly. “I am sorry, Miss Cat. I haven’t the faintest idea what’s going on. Am I dead? Or am I asleep?” Or had she just really fallen down the rabbit hole? Everything was so confusing. “Oh, and my name is Melissa, not Claudia, and I’m not a sailor, I’m just a high school student.”
She just wanted to throw that out there, because clearly the dream-or-not-so-dream cat needed to know.Bluefire Dragonz I am sorry for the delay, I've been caught up in school! crying Kaori_luv I am sorry for the delay, I've been caught up in school! crying

With the immediate danger taken care of, Ida was able to relax a little and turn back to check on the pair she had left behind her. She was glad, once again, for the power she was able to wield now... it made protecting people easier and more effective.
Walking back, she caught the tail end of the conversation, her eyebrows rising as she came close and crouched down by the pair.
"A senshi? Are you sure?" She said softly as she looked the girl over, curious and just a fleeting bit sad. If it was true, then this young girl's life was about to take a drastically different track than she would have imagined. Life as a senshi was hard and painful... If Ida had her way, there would be no need for them, but as it was she couldn't stop a new one from awakening. There was too much evil to fight, too many innocents to protect. She had faced this choice before, when Florentina had awakened, and she had come to the same conclusion then as now. If her starseed shone with senshi power, than it was her fate to awaken to it.
Reaching, Ida ran her hand gently over Sheena's head, seeking unconsciously for comfort in the stroking the way she would have with her own cat.

Sheena frowned at Melissa and shook her head, the girl still didn't seem to understand that the creature from before just looked like a dog and wasn't a dog at all. Not only that, it was far from innocent and could have killed her.
"No that is not what I am saying. That was not a dog, it was a youma, but yes you will have to fight youma and you will be able to clearly tell the difference," she said pointedly trying to make herself very clearly.
Sheena tried her best not to get frustrated with the girl because she really didn't know, but she was use to this being a little easier. "You are perfectly awake and my name is Sheena. It's nice to meet you Melissa, but you are in fact Clau ..."
She paused as Ida came up and asked her if she was sure and gave a a pet, which she greatly appreciated. She gave Ida a firm not and after a second a henshin pen popped into existence and found itself balanced on Sheena's nose before it was tossed up, slid down her back and tail to be tossed to Melissa.
"Catch," she said before looking back to Ida, "she is Claudia, senshi of Almonds and its time for her to join us."Elite Sushi No biggie, I swear im the queen of delays and forgetting and loosing links
