A year has passed since fire ravaged the swamplands, forcing the Jini-misemi to relocate to the Great Mountain. Though it hasn't always been easy to adjust, the pride has settled into their new home, and life goes on much as it once did, albeit in a drier climate. Pilgrims leave, Spirit-talkers return, and cubs are born and raised, and most of the pride is content. Now, it is time again for the Queen's Games, which were so abruptly cut short last year. Hopefully this year will go better! Surely it would be hard for it to go worse...
La'u Khara'i will preside over the games, and rumor has it that she will be watching the participants closely. She has a Consort, but perhaps she desires a Suitor...or perhaps there is another reason for her interest. She has plenty of eligible relatives, after all! Or maybe it's all nothing but gossip. Who knows? What everyone does know for sure that Mama Asali is promising her favor to the winners, and who wouldn't want the favor of a goddess?
Once the games have concluded, there will be a feast to celebrate!

WrestlingAlas, the Jini-msemi's new mountain territory doesn't have any of the glorious muck of the swamplands, and so this year's wrestling will be considerably less muddy. It won't be completely dry, however, as the wrestling matches will be held in a stream. It's a poor substitute, really, but thrashing around on the riverbank is a sure way to attract crocodiles, so that was deemed inadvisable.
This event is a very informal one, not a true tournament. There are no sign-ups or brackets. All adults may issue and accept challenges, and in so doing participate in as many matches as they like, win or lose. If someone is dedicated (and durable!) enough to compete multiple times, they're quite welcome to. Such a demonstration of skill and endurance would surely find favor!
ICly, the wrestling will take place over the course of three days. OOCly, everyone will have three weeks to arrange and complete their wrestling matches. As noted, there are no sign-ups: wrestle away! Self-RPs, however, are not allowed. You'll have to find partners.
Wrestling mechanics are thus: Each match consists of five rounds, and each round entails both participants rolling a 6-sided die. Whichever participant has the higher roll pins their opponent and wins that round. If the roll is a tie, neither succeeds in pinning the other. Whoever wins the most rounds wins the match; if there is a tie, it may be broken with a sixth round (or simply left at a tie, if the participants wish).
Prize: After the three weeks are up, whichever character has challenged and defeated the most opponents is the winner, gaining the favor of Mama Asali. The OOC prize - this lioness - will be raffled off among all participants. Each match you participate in, win or lose, is a ticket! For a match to be counted, simply make sure the title is headed with [Match]...and is in this subforum, of course! If you win her, the lioness must join and stay in the pride. Beyond that, she is a blank slate (albeit a rehomed one, as she was mine!).

RaceWhereas racing through the swamp required more endurance than anything, it's much easier to pick up speed running down a mountain - and much easier to hurt yourself running down said mountain. This terrain is much more dangerous, and tripping and falling could be more than just an embarrassing setback. Participants are advised to be cautious!
This event does have sign-ups. You may use only one SoA for this event, so choose wisely. When you post your form, roll a 10-sided die with it - this will determine whether or not your SoA will be injured in the race, and how badly (to be revealed via random events during the race itself).I'm not afraid of heights! Lion's Name: Lion's Image: Prize: As above, the winner of the race will gain the favor of Mama Asali! Also as above, a prize - another lioness - will be raffled off among all participants in the race. She is a Pilgrim, the daughter of Udayacal and Ubhar-le-Jana, and her cub name is/was Kiwimbi. She has never been RPed, and her personality and much of her history are a blank slate. The winner will be provided with more details about her family, etc. She does not have to return to the pride, but certainly can.

Scavenger HuntCubs need an event, too! As there are no frogs to catch on the mountain, Khara's daughter Jhulsa has personally hidden fake frogs molded from river clay in (mostly) safe places in Jini-msemi territory. The youths of the pride will have from sunset to sundown to collect as many of them as possible.
OOCly, Jhulsa's frogs will be hidden in posts in both the current and former Jini-msemi subforums, and you'll need to find them! They are in quote boxes in various posts. Once you've found a frog, you'll need to post it using the following form - and post it quickly, before someone else finds and posts it! A frog is only found by the first person to post it.
Whoever finds the most frogs, as a reward for being sharp-eyed, will be offered the honor of partnering with an eagle chick, a son of the Ghost Chemankari's Sesh-ratri.I got a frog! Quote the frog's quote box: Link to thread frog was found in:
