Rolling to Catch 90 + 10 (blood moon) + 15 (familiarity) = 115 Success
When Rowan left the house that night, it was with determination. She felt like she had tried this gambit so many times, and every time the outcome was the same. The girl was not accustomed to failure - it was simply not an option for her. But she had caught a Draugur once, she could catch it again. She had her net folded up neatly in her pack, and the wire cage in her hand. Rowan was ready to try again. She was certain that she could tame a Draugur this time, if only she could catch one of the blasted creatures.
she set the net up in a new spot, one that she had surveyed earlier. She didn't want the creatures to get used to the net and figure out what she was doing. It took longer this time for one of the birds to fall for the trap. The sky was just lightening up, turning pale shades of blue and lavender. Of course, Rowan couldn't actually see the colors, but she could see the shifting degree of darkness and knew it was nearly morning. She had been out all night, but at least she hadn't fallen asleep this time.
Standing and stretching her aching muscles, Rowan was ready to gather up her net to go home, when one little Draugur, flying erratically, flapped heedlessly into her net. Rushing over, the girl retrieved the bird. It appeared to be injured, perhaps it had gotten in a fight during a mating flight. It struggled weakly in her grasp, its wing twisted. Gently, she placed the creature into the cage and began the long walk home. She had to pause several times on her journey, the little bird periodically let out the most pathetic noises of pain. Rowan furrowed her brow. Could she nurse the bird to health? She was certain she could learn how to splint a wing. But would it be enough?

Rolling to tame Fail
Rowan frowned as she reached into the cage and took the Draugur out, stroking it gently and checking the binding on its wing. The bird let out a low croon. This one was much calmer and more friendly than the last one had been - it didn't fight her at all. Rowan was uncertain how much of that was the creature's actual temperament, and how much of it was the the injuries. The Draugur had been hurt worse than she had initially believed, and she was sure that crashing into a net had probably not helped the case. The wing had been broken in two places, and it was missing several of the long, flowing feathers that distinguished its kind. It was small, and she thought that it had probably been its first mating season. The bird didn't seem to have fared very well.
Corwen had told her not to name the bird. She had told Rowan that the prognosis was dim, and that she should really focus more on her studies. But everyone had to have a hobby, and Rowan enjoyed the challenge of catching and attempting to tame animals. This one had shown such a meekness of temperament that Rowan had gotten into the habit of calling it Muffin. An utterly ridiculous name for such a creature, but it had somehow stuck. She held Muffin in her hand and stroked it gently. It gave out a soft croon, but its voice was weaker than it had been. Rowan let out a sigh, knowing that the bird was dying. Standing, she carried it tenderly outside. By the time she had reached the back garden, the Draugur was gone. She lay the tiny slip of a body down on the ground and stroked its feathers one last time before going back inside.
