Lucian was born and raised in Florence, Italy, where he lived a perfectly normal life. His parents owned a flower shop, so Lucian learned to appreciate the beauty of the world at a young age. For the first 14 years of his life, Lucian considered everything to be perfect. The world was beautiful, he was surrounded by lovely people, and he never lacked for something new and exciting to do. Until when he was 14, things got too exciting. One day while Lucian was on his way home from school, he saw an unusual black shadow. Lucian decided to ignore it. When he was about a block from his house he started to hear glass breaking and screaming, and it was coming from his house. When Lucian arrived, the place was wrecked and he saw the shadow from earlier leaving. His dad managed to tell him about Quincies and Hollows before he died, and gave him a Quincy Cross. Afterwards Lucian moved to Japan in order to help him move on from his grief and began training himself as a Quincy.
