User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Survey Mission 4B
Location: The Abandoned Takakonuma Greenland Park
Images:: x, x, x.
General debriefing: Recently, the park opened itself up for a different type of tourist crowd, making itself a fun tourist set for locals, until unexplained deaths began happening to those on-site. Falling beams, uneven flooring, and occasionally, witnesses have claimed that they hear voices, oddly enough of themselves through the fog.
* C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee)

MECHANICS

* MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 4B. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a INSANITY ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics.
1- 20: You have a hard time getting past the fog, everything thick and desolate. Finally you see something, a flash of something, colour in the fog. You run over to it to discover that it is a mutilated corpse. Its face has been torn clean off its head, maggots crawling out of the skull.
21 - 40: You notice that some of the rides are moving on their own, from the roller coaster - still taped off with DANGER DO NOT ENTER - to the excuse of a ferris wheel. A body slumps to one side of the ticket booth, dried out. You turn around as you hear a strange hissing noise. As you turn back, the body standing, still, in front of the ticket booth.
41 - 60: You stumble for a second, as if someone, one of your teammates have shoved you, but when you look around, you notice that there is noone else in sight.
61 - 80: You see a mirror maze, and walk into it, your reflection eerie in each broken mirror fragment. Everything suddenly turns an oblique white and as you regain your vision seconds later, all your reflections have been replaced with your body melting, face and skin melting right off your face's reflection. Your reflection continues to copy everything you do.
81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER:
- As you continue walking down the sidewalk you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination?

- BOSS MECHANICS: This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back.

* 3 mission reward points for completing this successfully

Chel was tired of endless sparring. Sure fighting was fun, but it was kind of boring when your only opponent was a lifeless dummy.

She was booooored. Chel wanted to see the real world, not this godforsaken island for yet another day. At the moment, the only way to get out was to either visit the haunted house (after that creepy Wally thing, no thanks) or go on a mission.

Missions were fun.

She texted a few friends (at least, the only ones she knew might have been available) and hoped for the best.

Chel should probably mention missions more from the brisk but quick manner Jack arrived; someone was also getting a little cabin fever himself, as occupying himself with work could only do so much. This was still a job to be sure, but he definitely needed to stretch his long a** legs.

Adjusting his scarf and gloves, he nodded to her in greeting. "Yo. What sort of mission is this?" he asked, as to-the-point as ever.

He was half waiting for a gaggle of people to show up again like the last time Chel had texted him.

Getting off the island sounded like a decent idea, though Deryk supposed that it did depend somewhat on what they were planning on doing. He had been laying low mostly as of late, and all. He made sure he had his things when he made his way to the portal.

"Oh uh hey Chel,"

There was one other hunter here who he wasn't too familiar with.

"Uhh I dunno. We're gonna go investigate a theme park or something. It had theme park in the name it should be fun." That was Chel's reasoning, and she gave a very stereotypical Sun "I don't give a ********" shrug.

When Deryk joined she waved to him, even slapping him on the back. "Assassino eyyyy." She looked to Jack, gesturing between the two. "Jack, Deryk. Deryk, Jack." She gave an especially squinty look at Jack. "Play nice."

She then let go of Deryk's shoulder and pointed to the portal. "You guys ready to go?"

Jack held his hands up and gave her an offended look. Him, not nice? How dare she. "Sounds like a date," he said with a little grin before nodding to Deryk. "Yo. New guy here, so take it easy. "

He made a grand gesture to the portal that might or might not have included the death hunter. "Ladies first~"

"Themepark? Huh... What's going on there?" he asked while blinking. That seemed like an odd mission location, really. Deryk soon shook his head and nodded to the other male in the group.

"Nice to meet you. New huh? Well uh... hopefully we won't find anything too surprising, no."

Chel nodded at the twosome, sticking her tongue out at Jack. That little brat. He was definitely a trouble maker. Good thing Chel liked trouble makers.

"I'll explain on the way, okay?" she said, pulling them bot through the portal by the sleeve. Chel was a go, go, go kind of person. No time to wait for anybody.

Once on the other side, she said, "I guess some freaky stuffs been happening. People going missing, people hearing voices. Sounds like ghosties to me." Chel said the technical term of "ghosties" very confidentally. Her food jammed against something and she flailed in the fog, screeching as a color flashed across her face. When she looked down, there was a dead guy on her foot, maggots crawling out of his face.

"... Well I guess it wasn't ghosties then."

He clicked his tongue at Chel almost reproachfully in return. "I've started to learn 'surprising' is one of the nicer terms to describe what happens on missions, 'assassino'," he said to Deryk, woefully missing the reference as he hopped into the portal--

--straight into fog. Splendid start. "Ghosts, fog, and an abandoned theme park. Next I believe we'll find either Jason Vorhees or the Scooby Doo gang," he said rather factually, squinting at the maggot-faced corpse with distaste. "Or something that doesn't like to clean its plate."

He turned to try and navigate through the thinning fog, but as he searched for a defining landmark, someone pushed him forward without warning. "Chel, seriously?" Jack grumbled as he tuned around. "On a mission?" Though when he looked, the sun hunter wasn't behind him.

Spooky.

Once through the portal, Deryk paused and looked around. Well this place certainly looked gloomy enough.

"Nah... probably something worse.." he murmured quietly. Yes. Surprises were probably a nice term to put it. When he heard Jack speak to Chel a little in annoyance, he was still looking around at their surroundings. A few of the rides were operating. The roller coaster and ferris wheel were both working, it seemed.

Uneasily, he moved a little closer, then seeing a body slumped over in the ticket booth. It looks like it had been dead for awhile. Shaking his head, Deryk began to turn around, but paused as he heard a hiss. Quickly, he turned back, only to find that the body was now standing.

"Definitely not alone, for sure. Something's trying to mess with us, yes."

Chel looked back at Jack when he called her name. "Huh? Oh. Yeah sorry, I shouldn't be walking into corpses so rudely. My bad Mister Maggots." She unlodged her boot from the gross substance and stuck out her tongue in disgust.

Then she lurched forward, shoved from behind. Except Deryk and Jack were both standing in front of her, so who ...?

"Yeah, confirmed for not being alone. Probably the baddy we're out here to fight," she agreed, summoning her bow. Chel was always ready for a fight.

"Yeah, yeah." He heard the hissing noise as well and observed that the once fallen corpse was now standing. A small chill went up his spine.

"Well, if it's messing with us, it's taking its sweet time," Jack said rather nonchalantly as he tried to move forward. "But I definitely don't like that part. Watch for bugs. Or zombies. Or both." If it was anything like the Sahara...He did not want a repeat.

Shifting a bit in place, Deryk went ahead and called out his weapon as well. He was trying to watch their surroundings, but the fog was really thick. Just when he thought he found something, he only came upon a mutilated corpse with maggots writhing out of it.

Grimacing, he backed away from it. That was something he felt he was never going to get used to.

"Y-yeah... Probably waiting to see what we do. Something like that, yes.."

Chel just ... stared at the slightly paranoid Jack. How could someone so dashing and charming be so ... uncool in situations like this?

"Dude Jack, calm down. Getting all huffy won't solve-"

-CRACK-

Chel swiveled, only to find herself knocked off her feet, gas pouring down her throat and stinging her eyes at an alarming rate. She couldn't breathe, she couldn't do anything. This was it. This was the end. Going out on a crack joke at Jack. What a life.

Things did eventually clear, but it was dizzying to even look up. There was an enemy- more than one? in front of them. Was it a group or just one enemy. Chel couldn't tell. "Not it," Chel croaked, coughing out the gas where she could. She really hoped it would wear off after a bit.

A wind would be nice right about now. Clear up the fog, expose their position, move things along. He really didn't want to be watching corpses practice their posture and getting shoved around like a toy for much longer. "Well, if it really must know, we are here to investigate," Jack said to the fog a little dryly. "Hi there, anonymous, how's it hanging. Great, great, how about letting us innocent grunts do our job?"

Chel got a look. "I've already watched reanimated corpses and live possessions," he said testily. "Forgive me if being concerned about another episode makes me huffy--"

CRACK. The next thing Jack knew, he was inhaling something foul and his vision started to swim. And just like that, they became surrounded.

"s**t." Pulling his scarf over his mouth, Jack backed away from the encroaching dead with a glare and summoned his weapon. Not again, not again. He didn't see bugs, but he could still hear them, feel them crawling on him--"Back off, you ******** bastards," he hissed, cutting one down mercilessly and cursing as it was replaced with two more.

"I'm not guessing someone has fire on them?" he asked the pair with a few coughs. Jack's vision kept wavering, and even his own voice sounded far away.
