As a Harry Potter nerd fan one thing I love doing to characters in my other fandoms is sorting them into their Hogwarts houses. It usually makes for good discussion, too. 3nodding In case you're rusty, here's an article from the HP wikia that sums up the qualities of each house. The Houses of HogwartsKeep in mind that the Sorting Hat will sort you based not just on your traits but also on your values. So you could be super crazy smart but if academia is just not that important to you you might not necessarily be a Ravenclaw. Post below which houses you think SPN characters would be in!

So here are some of mine. Feel free to disagree!
Dean's a big ole Gryffindor. Like, textbook example. He's brave, he's rash, he rushes in head first, he's unfailingly loyal, and he'll always do the right thing, even if it's sort of impossible or a bad idea.
Sam's a Slytherin. Who may or may not think he's a Ravenclaw. But he's cunning and manipulative and will say and do what he can to accomplish what he wants.
Cas is a Hufflepuff. Boy is he ever! I've thought this for a while, but 9x06 makes it even more clear to me. Being called special because he "cares too much" and defending menial human work? Aw, Cas. emotion_kirakira
Bobby is a Ravenclaw. Bobby is the brains of the operation, when he's around. Smarter than he looks, and will generally hit the books as a first course of action when there's a problem.
Those are my main four; most shows have one of each character among their main characters. Obviously Bobby is not in the current season; would you say Kevin's the new resident Ravenclaw? Or would you put him somewhere else?

I was just thinking about this topic yesterday and you basically summed my thoughts up perfectly. Kevin is really hard to place for me because he has Neville quality to him. He is brave, loyal and self sacrificing , which could definitely make him a Gryffindor, but his love of study and the value he places on it is so Ravenclaw. I do not know , I am so conflicted.

I was thinking about it as well today and I'm finding that if I'm not sure how to sort someone then I think about how they react to problems. I think it breaks down kind of like this: Gryffindor: Justice! I will fight for what's right even if it kills me and I'll go do it now and bring all the weapons, woo! Ravenclaw: Well, let's see what the books say about this problem... I'll do the research and let you know what I find. Hufflepuff: Are you all right? Because if you're not all right, I can make you tea or bring you a pillow. Do you need a pillow? Do you need someone to watch the kids while you fight the thing? Slytherin: So how can we turn this to our advantage? And in that case, I think I'd put Kevin in Ravenclaw. He's tablet-boy!

Obviously Bobby is not in the current season; would you say Kevin's the new resident Ravenclaw? Or would you put him somewhere else? Quote: First off, hello! I'm Tricia, but you can call me Kitty if you'd like. Um, I like where you put the characters. To be honest, I haven't gotten to season 4 where Cas comes into the series, yet, so I can't really give my opinion on him or even Bobby. But I was thinking Dean would in either house, except for Ravenclaw, 'cause he just doesn't seem like a bookworm. You barely see him reading books, if ever. I'm still on season 1, so I don't really know. I'm working to get farther in the series, I promise. And Slytherin for Sam.... Um, I don't know. I ran a poll on Twitter and Hufflepuff got the most votes with Gryffindor right behind it. And I have gotten to even season 2 yet, so maybe he is a Slytherin, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I just wanted to say this. I know it's really long and maybe a bit rude to quote unexpectedly, but.... Yeah....
