Appearance Description: [x]
Emil has the body type that many would consider ideal: he is of a fairly average height, and a little below average weight but with a decent amount of muscle on his body. With the exception of clothing that clashes with his hair, Emil can pull off almost any outfit. Even so, he typically chooses to wear a long white Quincy overcoat that largely conceals his perfect body in order to cooperate with the typical Quincy uniforms standards. Furthermore, Emil rather enjoys having a long coat, as its flowing nature makes movements look more elegant and refined, especially when fighting with his choice of spirit weapon. In addition, Emil generally wears white gloves with his uniform which help to secure his Quincy Cross, which he wears on his right wrist in order to increase how quickly he can produce his spirit weapon in his hand at a moment's notice. When not in his usual Quincy uniform, Emil typically wears a black turtleneck and keeps his Quincy cross around his wrist, though does not wear his gloves or coat. On occasion around the Quincy realm, Emil can be found wearing his Quincy cross as a necklace, but usually only when he is practicing.
One of Emil's most noticeable features is his waist-length thick pink hair. Due to how much it gets in his way both in combat and music, Emil typically ties it back into a high ponytail, however he has so much hair that he has difficult keeping all of it out of his face and has bangs and long hair strands that fall down to about his collarbone. Behind his pink hair, Emil has light red eyes that act as another distinguishing trademark of his appearance. In some ways, Emil appears quite feminine with his pretty face and long hair. Sometimes, Emil is even mistaken for a girl (to his irritation), hence how he earned his feminine nickname "Emi." By any standards, however, Emil could be classified as beautiful: his face follows almost perfect symmetry, his skin is flawless, and his hair is extremely soft. He doesn't have a single blemish - scar, tattoo, zit, or otherwise - which adds to his overall air of beauty. Though Emil cares a bit about his appearance, he is not entirely obsessed with it, which enhances his laid back look with an added stylish sense of apathy.

Character Strengths: Possibly Emil's greatest strength is his confidence in himself. Barely below the point of being arrogant, Emil is able to maintain a positive image of himself, despite any minor setbacks that he may face. He is well aware of his skills and abilities, and when participating in any of those areas has certainty that he will do well. Furthermore, Emil is very conscious of his limits and knows how to avoid over-reaching in any of his weak skills. In combination, these strengths make Emil a strong fighter, as he knows how to take down an opponent just as well as he knows how to avoid a battle. Though not exceedingly intelligent, Emil is a charismatic individual, and has little difficult with words. Because of this, he is skilled in convincing others to do things, though he is far from the type that would make a good leader. Instead, Emil's strength lies in being a powerful follower and team player that makes for a force to be reckoned with both in social endeavors and combat endeavors.
Character Weaknesses: Emil's weaknesses lie in his lack of motivation, largely. Like anyone, Emil is not as strong as his potential, however in all endeavors outside music Emil stops training after reaching a point that he feels is good enough. For example, after achieving his Vollstandig and making it suitably powerful, he stopped working at increasing its strength. Not only does this apply to fighting, but other areas as well; for example, Emil is a terrible cook, and has simply given up on trying to improve. If someone asked him about these tendencies, he would most likely respond that overexerting himself in a field where his skills did not lie was a waste of time. While this helps him from ever really facing failure, at the same time it weakens his character as he never has worked to improve in anything in which he was not naturally gifted.
Motto/Quotes: "If music is the sole truth, then I am the master of reality."
Personality: A man with a great amount of self-confidence, Emil can slowly wear on people who have prolonged interaction with him. Though he is not arrogant, Emil is well aware of where his skills lie, and over time those around him notice his tendency to highlight his skills as well as the glimmer of confidence that is always present in his eyes. In addition, Emil is well aware when he is better than someone at something, and though he is not the sort to bring up his superior skill, those on the other end of his confidence might realize his tendency to subtly look down on others. Despite his superiority complex in some areas, as Emil is aware of where his skills lie, he is even more aware of where they do not lie. When someone is better than him in any particular area, Emil submits to a certain sort of bitter resigning. More often than not, after learning such a fact Emil simply tried to avoid those who are more skilled than he for the sake of avoiding the sour taste of inferiority. Sometimes, these tendencies are misinterpreted as arrogance, however more than that Emil, like many people, just prefers to do things in which he is skilled over than those in which he has less skill.
In most conversations and situations, Emil maintains a sort of cool detachment. He speaks when appropriate to do so, though rarely expresses any opinion outside of a cold analytical assessment. However, Emil is of only a little above average intelligence, and thus avoids most discussions in things that do not interest him, such as military strategy. What Emil lacks in pure intelligence, he makes up for in his remarkable affinity for music. From a young age, Emil found that he had a natural talent for hearing and playing music and when extremely focused, his mind can even produce colors to associate with different melodic patterns. His musical genius is the source of his letter designation as well as his nickname "The Maestro." Despite his name and qualification in conducting, Emil is disappointed in the general lack of musical ability in his Quincy brethren, and thus usually confines himself to playing on either of his two favorite instruments, violin or piano, in solitude rather than try to place music into the hearts of those who sadly lack it.
Many others have strong drives, though Emil is remarkably not driven. Though he continues to follow the teachings of the Quincy, it is out of a sense of responsibility placed into his heart at a young age. He has no vendetta against any greater force, nor any sort of crusade for power. Ultimately, his path is the path of a follower rather than a leader, and typically follows and appreciates the judgement of the leaders of the Quincy Order, whether or not they might align with any sort of personal values or goals. "Wherever I can bring the music of the Quincy soul to life is where I will stay."

Fighting Styles:
Strength:
While fighting, Emil avoids fighting on the basis of pure strength. However, given that he fights with a heavy pole-arm weapon, some amount of strength has to go into the wielding of his weapon so that he can continue to act swiftly. His strength when fighting is more channeled into the quick movements of the weapon rather than power behind the attacks: the nature of the halberd which he uses alone provides a considerable advantage against most opponents due to its mid-range nature, and thus it is rather unnecessary and cumbersome for Emil to exert much effort in trying to attack with large and heavy attacks. In a hand-to-hand fight, one might notice that Emil is truly not in very good physical shape: judging by weights, he would only be able to bench a barely passable weight, and would not be able to do much extra strenuous strength exercises. In comparison to most other Quincy, Emil would probably be classified as average, or even just below average (though he would not be one to quickly and openly admit the fact).
Speed:
Instead of strength, Emil focuses his physical ability into the speed of his attacks. Though his weapon of choice is a rather difficult to maneuver and heavy pole arm, Emil prides himself in his ability to quickly and skillfully move his halberd in ways that are difficult for most normal opponents to anticipate or avoid. Instead of focusing on pure physical strength into attacks, Emil uses any and all of his muscle prowess for the sake of increasing the speed of his attacks. Through the use of his physical ability, Emil is able to easily maneuver the large halberd weapon in ways that make almost all of his attacks deadly and quick. Not only does his speed channel through his attacks, but also into his footwork: Emil is exceptionally quick and agile, and is able to move with great haste as well as avoid many slow but powerful attacks. Overall, though Emil's attacks don't have much weight behind them, they are executed with a dangerous weapon and a great amount of speed, which make each strike almost as deadly as one by a more burly man.
Intelligence:
Overall, Emil could not be classified as the most intelligent individual. However, this is not to say that he is stupid. His intelligence is extremely average, and outside of combat he doesn't really over-exert his mind. Instead, he leaves the thinking and strategies to those who pride themselves on such matters. He is well aware of the fact that this is not his primary focus. Due to the fact that he is not particularly stupid, however, he is a very keen fighter, and is able to quickly and easily adjust his strategy on the battle field. Though not a fighting "genius" he has studied fighting with his spirit weapon enough to know how to fight and how to change when change is needed. Emil chooses particular strengths in which to keep his intelligence and, in general, avoids most other areas for the sake of not wasting effort in places where he will never reach the top or - more accurately - he feels that there is simply no need for him to spend time improving himself or thinking about that subject.
Stamina:
On the battlefield, Emil maintains a fair amount of stamina. Due to the weight and difficulty of his weapon of choice, Emil has to make sure that he can keep going with several attacks without wearing himself out. Because of this, the bulk of Emil's training went into stamina improvement and increasing: though his strength is not the highest among the Quincy, Emil prides himself on having one of the largest "pools" of stamina. Though he largely avoids physical strain, Emil is a skilled endurance athlete, and can maintain physical strain for almost twice as long as many other Quincy are capable. Overall, this helps to make Emil even more of a force on the battlefield. Despite the lack of pure power behind his attacks, he can almost always outlast and opponent. In doing so, he makes sure to keep a tactic where he simply tries to survive until his opponent is visibly weaker, at which point he will begin to increase his attack speed and power so as to take down an opponent who has been greatly weakened by the length of the battle alone.
Durability:
Even with Emil's remarkable stamina, his endurance is not the best. Aside from the Quincy blut, Emil cannot take very many attacks before he is too injured to continue fighting. As long as he has not been injured, he can last for several hours in one singular fight. However, as soon as he starts taking damage, his abilities drop considerably. Once his blut has been broken through, it takes little to no effort to cut through Emil's skin and, in doing so, cause considerable damage. Because of this, Emil focuses on trying to maintain his blut for as long as possible so that he will not have to face his lack of durability in an actual combat situation. Despite this, the fact that on occasion he will be severely injured in battle is unavoidable, and Emil's only hope is that he will be severely injured at a time when he would have easy and quick access to medical attention, without the worry that his lack of durability will be the death of him in a pathetic or not noble manner.

Spiritual Pressure:
Like all Pure-Blood Quincy, Emil has an immense amount of spiritual pressure. Due to the fact that he is not as powerful as the Quincy leader, however, he can only partially keep it in check. However, his spiritual pressure is not so massive that it ever appears or seems like a weight, as is the case with many with high spiritual pressure. Instead, many have cited that his spiritual pressure makes them feel almost lightheaded. Instead of oppressive, his spiritual pressure is unusually relaxing. Especially when he is releasing massive amounts to increase his strength, speed, etc., his opponents will sometimes feel a calming wave wash over them, as if they were taking a warm bath and listening to soothing music instead of being in the middle of combat. Though this could easily be used to Emil's advantage, for the most part he does not mind nor care that his spiritual pressure has the effect: as it increases his strength, it calms his mind as well and acts as a universal soothing effect for those who are in the midst of combat.
Swordsmanship/Accuracy/Other:
Like most Quincy, Emil has skills in basic archery and blade abilities, through use of the "traditional" Quincy bow as well as the seele schneider for a blade. His swordsmanship abilities are a mixture of kendo and fencing, as taught to him by his father and grandfather respectively. A mixture of these two styles presents Emil's secondary form of fighting, which is an intriguing collaboration of these two different styles. His accuracy with a bow is passable, though by no means expert, which is why he favors use of his halberd. Among the Quincy, Emil is arguably the most skilled pole arm user, and prides himself with his ability with his halberd. Of course, though his skills in this area are great, he still has much to learn and typically avoids intense training despite his potential to become an exceedingly skilled fighter with his halberd. While his skills with the halberd could be described as quite exceptional, his swordsmanship skills are just above average and his skills with the bow could be generously considered passable, though Emil largely shies away from the traditional Quincy arts.
Special Training:
Given that the typical Quincy training is most geared toward swordsmanship and archery, Emil has received considerable training in the art of wielding a spear. His weapon of choice is a halberd, as he favors a heavier middle range weapon so that he can fight with a mixture of the traditional Quincy semi-ranged attacks while also being able to fight against opponents who prefer to get "up close and personal", in particular Shinigami and Arrancar. As a result, Emil's special training has made him a well-rounded and dangerous combatant with his weapon of choice. In addition, Emil's special swordsmanship training differs from the typical shortened training in this area received by most Quincy, thus making Emil more comfortable with a sword as well as with a spear. However, as a result Emil did not receive as intensive of archery training as many Quincy have, and as a result is more lacking in that area, though this is largely made up for with his training in other areas.
Personal Abilities:
Outside of combat, Emil has received considerable instrument training. He is probably by far the most skilled musician among the Quincy, as he began training from an extremely young age with the aid of his grandfather. Though his musical ability largely does not help with combat, Emil's musical studies have made him more attentive to his surroundings, as well as tuned his ear to be a keen weapon in combat: when blinded, Emil has learned to hear the pitches of movements and in doing so learn to tell how far away enemies are, as well as what sort of general movement or attack they are completed. Furthermore, the attentiveness of his ear also helps for making out more sounds, which in a situation in which he has no sight can also help to paint a picture of his surroundings. Thus, for all of the other areas in which Emil falls short, this unusual skill makes him more of a force to be reckoned with when he is in combat.
Spiritual Techniques/Releases:
Quincy Bangle/Cross Appearance: [x]
Quincy Bangle/Cross Location: Right wrist
Quincy Abilities:
- Reishi Absorption: Although Shinigami and Quincy both use Reiryoku when fighting, they both have a completely opposite fighting style. Shinigami use the spiritual power created from their soul in conjunction with a Zanpakutō to fight against the Hollows. It can be said they fight using a power from within. On the contrary, a Quincy uses the Reishi in the atmosphere, and combines it with his/her Reiryoku to create weapons. They fight using a power from outside. They have an easier time collecting this energy in environments with higher concentrations of Reishi such as in Soul Society or Hueco Mundo. To a sufficiently powerful Quincy, there is no difference between Reishi and Reiryoku as a source of power.
Spirit Weapon: The weapon that Quincy create by gathering the Reishi in the air. The only limit to a Quincy's ability to create and fire arrows is their own stamina and ability to absorb ambient Reishi.
Spiritual Awareness: As a spiritual being, the Quincy can sense Hollows and other spiritual beings at a significant distance, and tell in what direction they are in. Quincy have an acute perception of Reiatsu.
Hirenkyaku: An advanced Quincy moving technique. It allows for high- speed movements by riding on the flow of Reishi created below the user's feet.
Blut: A Quincy ability that gives one inhuman defensive and offensive capability. By making Reishi flow into their blood vessels they increase their attack and defense power drastically. Blut is significantly dangerous but it has one big flaw, the two forms of Blut for attack and defense work using two different Reishi systems, so they cannot be used at the same time.
Quincy Spiritual Weapon Appearance: [x]
The Spiritual Weapon takes the form of a halberd. Emil's spiritual energy is powerful enough that the spiritual weapon appears like a solid metal halberd, with a bit of red near the top of the staff part of the weapon. It measures to be about 80 inches long. When trying to conserve spiritual energy, Emil may choose to make the halberd appear as a bluish glowing weapon. In this form, the halberd is considerable lighter - and thereby much easier to use in battle - however does considerably less damage. Thus, for the sake of maximizing his fighting capacity, Emil usually chooses to solidify the weapon when in combat. Though larger than Emil himself, he wields the halberd in a way that is unusually agile for the weapon.
Quincy Spiritual Weapon Abilities:
- Sichel Brise (Sickle Breeze) - in addition to acting as a normal halberd, the spiritual weapon has the ability to create a concentrated blade of reishi along the tip of the blade head of the halberd. If an attack misses its mark, the concentrated reishi will fly off of the halberd head and grow to be about four feet long, slashing in a crescent shape in the direction of the slash. The reishi blade can travel about fifteen feet before it dissipates into the air. If the reishi blade manages to hit its mark, then it will act like a blade with about as much cutting ability as a sword, being able to cut through most of the factions' uniforms and inflict wounds of a medium deepness (i.e. enough to considerably wear out an opponent and require medical attention, but not enough to cut off limbs or anything of the sort).
Quincy Vollstandig Appearance:
Part of the aesthetic effect of the Vollstandig is in the release. Emil removes his cloak in a sweeping, fluid motion, coating it in a deep blue reishi veil as he sweeps it over his halberd and across his body almost like a magician completing a magic trick. As he does so, the cloak hides Emil in a thick cloud of reishi for a moment, before it gathers around his shoulders in a long, flowing cloak. His feet are covered in bluish metal-looking boots, and his hands remained gloved in the gloves he typically wears in his Quincy uniform. In the release, his halberd has greatly shrunk into a small stiletto dagger that is balanced to be weighted like a conductors baton. Half of Emil's face is covered in a blue mask that seems to be leaking reishi in a way that appears almost like flames behind him. Overall, Emil fancies that his Vollstandig is one of the more fashionable of the Vollstandig, though even he has to admit with his techniques that looks are not everything.
Quincy Vollstandig Abilities:
- "The Maestro" - Part of Emil's namesake is in the primary ability of his Vollstandig. When the Vollstandig is released, it emanates a strange sort of energy into the surroundings. Emil's spiritual energy effects the air in such a way that sound ceases to be able to clearly travel through the air, making sounds around the fighting area seem distorted, almost like someone trying to talk in a pool filled with some sort of thick liquid. Though this effects everyone else in the area, the mask of reishi makes Emil immune to the ability, allowing him to hear with perfect clarity. This ability effects a radius of about fifteen feet, proving to be fairly useful against ranged and melee fighters alike. However, Emil's ability is not limited to distorting sound. In addition, Emil can choose certain sounds to make their way through the haze created by his Vollstandig release. Essentially, he can take certain things people say out of context for the sake of further alarming opponents and throwing them off. As his name implies not only his skill as a musician, it also makes a nod toward the fact that, in his Vollstandig, Emil is essentially the master of what his opponents can hear around them.
Wind Füße (Wind Feet) - In the Vollstandig release, Emil has special boots which greatly enhance his speed. This, in combination with the distorted noise, can give the illusion that the opponent really is swimming in some sort of pool; though his boots do not give Emil an extreme amount of speed, they are enough to make the opponent slightly shocked at the increase of pace. More than act as any sort of special ability, the strength of the boots lies in the ability to simply throw off the opponent to an even greater extent. And, with a weapon as small as the dagger, there is a tendency for the opponent to take a while to adjust to the sudden shift in Emil's fighting style.
