The parallel Mauvian's aura was leaking all over the place tonight as she sat there hoping to fish out a knight or negaverse officer for her fishing project. It wasn't working, and she decided she must've chosen one dud of an area, because it had been a hell of a quiet night after a lot of effort.
She wasn't totally out, but enough she was nervous what would happen if she ran into trouble that retired usage of a cat laser or other expended energy to get out of since she had already attempted to use the ability earlier like a flare gun. So she powered down and flopped forward to grip her head in frustration at the waste and lack of productivity for the night.
After a suitable amount of languishing, she hopped up and adjusted the strap on her messenger bag over the practical 'adventuring and patrolling' outfit she strolled around in and did a quick 360 turn on her heel, just to double check that none of that residual aura bursting through the area had attracted any youma. Satisfied, even though in this civilian state she was energy blind, she started to walk in whatever direction she was sure home might've been.
A nap was sorely required after all that waste.

The aura had attracted someone. Just not a Negaverser. And someone who was literally so surprised to see Zirconia that she had forgotten to act. Then Gunn watched the Mauvian power down, and remembered how her feet worked again. How could Zirconia not be corrupt? She'd come from the same side of the mirror as Ares, she'd ******** doted on the senshi of smoke--sort of like how Gunn had mindlessly idolized her, not seeing the insanity brewing in Ares for what it was. Insanity and desperation and horror and all those awful things that none of them could have seen… Except Zirconia. She followed along on the rooftops for half a block, and then could bear it no longer. Barely a thought later, she hit the ground before Zia and said, "So you're not corrupted. What the hell?"

Zia was completely caught off guard when Gunn spoke up, and visibly jumped out of her skin as she flailed backwards.
She cleared her throat and tried to pretend that didn't happen immediately after recognizing the redheaded senshi and went to shifting her motions to act like she was only adjusting her hoodie.
"Well neither are you, dumb b***h," She snorted, frowning her most serious of frowns with great effort.
But she looked Gunn over up and down with some serious side eye as if she had to make double triple sure. No stupid doll fuku, no holes, white bodice. Yup, all appears to be in order.
"The ******** have you been?" She'd already gotten excuses from Birhan, but there was still just a little bit of bitterness. And plenty of other contradictory and overwhelming feelings bubbling around in there too.

"I was at ******** basic military training, trying to get away from you," said Gunn. "Or who I thought you'd joined up with." She should have tried to get into contact with others of the Blood Moon after the whole Ares debacle. She knew that. But it'd been too painful, too fresh--how could she have not seen that Ares was breaking. Gunn had hated herself and, out of cowardice, hidden away on a comet until she couldn't bear it anymore. She grabbed hold of Zia's shoulder to really look at her, this civilian form she recognized on sight from meetings of the Inner Sanctum. "I'm so glad you're not completely insane," said Gunn. "Only mostly. What the ******** were you doing in your ******** half-cat form without someone running backup? You trying to die, or something? Who else is still around?"

"Oh, well, congrats," Zia said in a tone and body language that said la de da for her without any vocalization.
The slightly shorter woman made a bit of a squawking noise when her shoulders were grabbed, and then she stood on her toes to pat Gunn on the head. "I'm glad you're not completely ******** either. And I'm still in one piece."
And then she brushed her hand off of her.
"Which is the whole reason I'm not over there. I like being alive, thanks. I don't know what happened to Madison or Fallon-- if they're dead or suppressed or just completely absorbed, but I kind of like being alive thanks."
This was Zia talking, not the cat, and she had her own interests at hand. Like not being trapped in some 'And I Must Scream' situation in her own body. And also why she wasn't as eloquent, leading to silly, manic mannerism and redundancy in her spastic phrasing of things in her excitement.
"I'm working on a project! I'm not dead yet."
Who else was still around was a trickier question, though, and she rested one finger on her chin as she looked down and tried to take inventory. "Um... I saw Birhan a while back... but just once... to catch up. I haven't seen Scylla since everyone turned into guardian cats for a while. Maia is around, runs training sessions. Kallichore is with Tomli-- I mean the Jovians."
Oh she was so jealous of Tomlin, who she saw as her replacement in Kallichore's post-BMC life. So very bitter and jealous.
There was a silent pause and she looked like she was trying to choke down vomit in the back of her throat or something.
Luckily she didn't puke, she just kind of threw herself on Gunn in a hug in a desperate need for more physical contact than the hand she'd brushed off her shoulder.
"I'm so glad you aren't dead or anything, you stupid b***h."

Gunn didn't stagger even a little when Zia threw herself into her arms. Nor did she hesitate to hug Zia as tight as she could without breaking the other woman's ribs. "Yeah, well, work on that project with me," she said. "Who're you calling a stupid b***h, anyway, do you really think you're better?" God, she didn't even think that she'd been that close to the damn cat, but she felt like she was almost about to cry just from seeing her stupid purple hair. "You're not dead," said Gunn, "and if I can help it, you're not going to die." She could train Zia better than this, she knew. And she could try to get back into contact with Maia and Kallichore, help them out with what she knew now... "I'm sorry to ask this of you, but... has anyone from the old crowd turned back? Or are they all still traitorous whores like they were?"

Zia pulled back and all of her respiratory efforts went into a loud, gross sniffle.
She rolled her shoulders and shrugged a little. "It's complicated. You go around punching negas, it'll cramp my style. Speaking of... Last I saw Kallichore-- which wasn't that long ago-- she was uh... considering jumping ship."
Kallichore had promised she'd changed her mind, again, but considering how quickly she flip flopped, Zia wasn't quite ready to believe that.
"Turned back? The Dark Mirrors, you mean? Uh... they can't. There's nothing left in there," She tapped her chest, which ostensibly looked like she was gesturing to the brand on her chest. But she meant what was behind it, and the dual starseeds beneath.
"Right now in this body there's two souls, yah? Zia the original and Zirconia the mirror soul. They don't have that, there's just one. I think they're just... dead."
