Persephone was out seeking - feeling for Chaos auras close to her own level, because she was still curious, still ever wondering about corruption and about what the Negaverse might offer. She tried to keep it to her level because if they were unfriendly, she would at least have a fighting chance.
And she felt it - the aura of a Captain, which had her jogging towards it. "Hello!" She called in greeting, an attempt to attract the woman's attention.

Avalon stopped walking, turned on her heel, and squinted down the street at the approaching senshi. It was easy enough to call her dagger to hand, to slide into the 'ready' position she'd been taught, to wait. "Hello," said Avalon, cautiously. She was prepared for violence, of course--but she wasn't going to spring into it. Not yet. Her job was infiltration, not--not total annihilation. "What do you want, senshi," she asked, and she thought: well that's not very friendly, but at the same time, who cared? It was a senshi. Not a real person.

Persephone held up her hands in what she hoped was a clear "I-am-no-danger" gesture, eyes flicking to the knife in the Captain's hand. She was not messing with that, no thank you. Getting stabbed was not on her to-do list tonight.
"I just want to talk," she said, taking a breath. "I'm Sailor Persephone," she offered, because being as polite as possible was always best with people who could definitely kill you.

Avalon lowered the hand with the knife in it, but didn't leave her ready-to-attack pose. "And I'm Captain Avalon," she said. "What does a senshi of the White Moon want with a Negaverse Captain? It doesn't make any sense to seek us out to talk." And of course, she also didn't want to look disloyal. Her position in the Negaverse meant she wasn't expected to engage every senshi she meant--but it also didn't excuse her from engaging rude senshi...

Persephone exhaled. "Avalon. That's unusual. More of a Knight name...were you one of them, once?" She asked, hoping desperately that she wasn't giving offense. She lowered her hands and took a few steps forward. "I'm curious, mostly. I just...want to talk. About Chaos. What it's like."

Avalon felt awful about see-sawing from offensive to neutral and back again, but she also couldn't risk this senshi having been sent specifically to look for her. "Yes," she said, her knife so tight in her hand that her fingers were going numb. "I was Avalon Squire of Earth, once. Not anymore." And good ******** riddance. No way was she letting her guard down. But she could certainly talk. "It's... it's better than the White Moon could ever hope to be," she said. "At least when we do bad things, we own them. We don't abandon our newbies." And they also had really fun parties. Well... sort of fun parties.

Persephone lit up, and she couldn't help but smile. "Oh! Well, if you used to be White Moon, then you're exactly who I need to talk to, I think," she said. Even as she tried to grab for ties to the White Moon, tried desperately to build a team and pull them together and have friends, Chaos kept looking better and better. "I keep hearing that. That Chaos is a family and the White Moon is just...awful." She looked down, and then back up.
"The first fight I got into, I nearly died because I didn't know what I was doing. From everything I've heard, if it had been a Chaos cat or a General-King who found me that wouldn't have happened." How strange, to think it was such a small twist of fate would make such a large difference. "Um, how much are you willing to talk about...what it was like to switch? Did it hurt?"

"I was Order," she corrected, maybe too fast but she was still a little on edge. "Only senshi are White Moon." She supposed Knights swore to a Princess, but… she'd been of Earth, and they'd had no Princess, as far as she knew. Anyway. "It was the worst pain of my life," said Avalon. "Like every single inch of me was being flayed open and then burned. But I would do it again. I would do it a hundred hundred times." And, while they were on the honesty trip… "…I don't remember anything about who I was before I woke up as a Negaverse Captain," she said. "Not my name, or where I came from, or who my friends were. Everything I have, the Negaverse has given me. "When a White Moon senshi was chasing me down, a Captain came to help me. She took an attack meant for me and saved my life. That's what being in the Negaverse is, and they'll do the same for you, if you switch."

"Sorry," Persephone said, "Not so good with the uh, terms?" She admitted. Weren't they the same? Well, she supposed there could be something of a distinction...ah, thinking about it made her head hurt a little. It was easier to just accept what Avalon had said. They were all Order, but only Senshi, specifically, could be called the White Moon.
"It wipes your memory?" She asked, and for the first time, she sounded genuinely scared. The pain was one thing - she'd expected that, didn't anything to do with starseeds hurt? - but the forgetting...she wouldn't remember her friends or her family or anyone.
"I've heard. More than once." She admitted. And it didn't seem, to her, that Avalon was particularly distrusted or watched over - after all, she was patrolling alone. The only thing giving her pause, now, was the thought of forgetting being Caitlyn. Only being able to remember her time as Persephone.
But alternately, she could forget being Persephone and forget all of the failures and the fear...

Avalon stared. It was just--a symptom, she thought, of how awful and arrogant the senshi were. How arrogant all of them had been for so long. "Yes," she said. "You forget either everything about your civilian life or everything about your life as a senshi. It's the price you pay for your crimes." To her, an officer, this didn't seem so bad. In her past life, Niamh had committed no crime against the people of Earth. She'd protected them. Avalon could carry no guilt for that, and her crimes as the most recent of Avalon's guardians had been easily expunged through offerings of energy and of her own starseed. For senshi, she was sure it would be more difficult. But why scare the girl? "It means safety from youma," she said, "and from the infinitely more deadly forces of the Negaverse." She held up her dagger, her grip loose in the manner she'd been taught. Ready to use, if necessary. Then she dropped her hands to her sides and smiled. "So you should consider it. I'd love to have you."

Persephone nodded slowly. Could they really be considered crimes, the things she'd done? For a moment her mind flashed to taking a borrowed chakram and scoring a mark in a sturdy tree, to helping a mad General with some bizarre scheme, and she could agree that yes, she had committed an awful crime. "I see," she said, her voice soft. On the other hand, she would have to give up the person she'd been anyway, wouldn't she? Sidouer knew who she was, so did Sisyphus; to stay as Caitlyn would be dangerous.
"I've been considering it. Very seriously," she admitted. "I don't know if I'm ready yet...I keep hoping desperately that I'll find a place in Order, that I'll find something to tie me there, but all I want is to be able to protect the people that I care about and I'm so weak, but everyone I meet who's embraced Chaos is so strong."
