(1.5 * LUK Points) + (2 * Soul Orbs of YOUR Specie) + All Other Soul Orbs = Your Total Percentage
Luk Points: 21 Ysali Orbs: 4 Ayrala Orbs: 3 Kiandri Orbs: 12 Firani Orbs: Peisio Orbs: 1 Aiskala Orbs: Gaili Orbs: Aeduan Orbs: Diabi Orbs: Celestial Orbs:
LUK[21] x 1.5 + Orbs[4+3+ (2*12)+1] = 31.5 luk + 32 orbs TOTAL: 63.5% Chance
Need to get a 64 or less!
Failure!!!! burning_eyes Oh well... If you've failed the Ritual however, all of the orbs you've gathered and used have become dust. Though because you've experienced such an immense power, your luck rises 10 points for each failure you experience. Also, you will gain a permanent stat boost, which differs depending upon which souls were used in the process (ie: Using 8 Ysali Orbs + 3 Firani Orbs + 5 Ayrala Orbs = 8 INT, 3 ATK, and 5 DEF according to the Battling with a Drakein post). But, now you must go and collect at least 1 Dragon Soul Orb of your clan as well as other orbs to use in the next Ritual. Good luck and happy evolving!
So she gains +10 LUK. and 5 INT, 3 DEF, 12 ATK. Ysali orbs = 4 INT Ayrala orbs = 3 DEF Kiandri = 12 ATK Peisio orb = 1 INT
Now to write 1500 words....

Grrel gathered all of her orbs into a cloth sack and had Brassarril tie it across her back.
“Make sure it’s tight! I don’t want to lose any.” She nagged nervously. He merely chuckled and buffeted her with his wings.
“Oh hush you fussbudget! It’s not going to fall open or anything. Can’t believe you’re off to go try it before me! I’ll be following in a few days though.” Grrel chuckled and attacked his tail playfully. “I can’t wait! Urg, haven’t been this nervous in forever!”
Brassarril bumped his head against hers. “You go out there and do your best. And when you come back home a Drakeinian or not, just remember that you’re powerful in your own right! The fact that you will be attempting the ritual is more than anyone in the clan can say! I wish Toki were here to see this.” He said wistfully.
Grrel laughed, “We’ll just have to surprise him when he comes back! And don’t worry; I know that no matter what happens I’ll be stronger than I was! If only in knowing what I need to do.” Neither of them mentioned anything about dying and how many of those who attempted id never came back. Grrel stretched her wings and launched herself into the sky. “To Rhaze,” she whispered.
“He’ll know what to do!” She was certain that the Drakeinian Rhaze would be the best to walk her through this ritual. Anodyne, while powerful, was much too interested in peace and compromise for Grrel. She wanted to fight the Magescians, keep them away, not talk with them!
As she crossed the desert, she ran into a winter storm. Enjoying the chilly rain and lighting, she zipped through the clouds towards the mountains where Rhaze lived. She thought of it as a good omen. A thunderstorm, something she loved to fly in. If I wasn’t in a hurry I’d linger and play among the storm clouds, but oh well. Onwards! She thought with a laugh as she dodged a lightning bolt. It was early in the night when she landed exhausted outside of Rhaze’s cave. A Diabi drakein greeted her and asked why she was there.
“I want to do the ritual!” She said after catching her breath. “I heard that Rhaze would be the one to guide one through it.” She sat up and primly wrapped her tail about her legs. “I can wait if he’s busy.” In fact, she though, I hope he’s busy so I can catch my breath! She was a fast flyer, but all day flights were just too exhausting!
“Ah, in that case this way please. He’ll instruct you now.” The other Drakein looked happy. Blast, Grrel thought. No rest? I hope it doesn’t affect my ritual! She stood up and walked after the Diabi into the cave. And I hope the ritual isn't in here either! It’s dark and damp… too much like Ayr, Grrel thought grumpily. She was lead into a large cavern where the strange figure of a Drakeinian greeted her. An odd mixture of Dovaa and Drakein, that’s what he was. But powerful, very much so. Grrel could feel his power beating against her and bowed her head to him briefly.
“And what do you want, Kiandri?” Rhaze’s raspy voice asked. His face illuminated by two odd purple floating skulls. “I want you guidance on how to become a Drakeinian.” Grrel responded as she sat down and watched him. Those skulls were certainly odd!
“Oh? And do you know what the ritual is for?” He asked as he looked down upon her.
“To change one’s self into a Drakeinian. To gain power. That is all that I know. And both I want.” She raised her head and gave him stare for stare.
“And what will you use that power for?” He hissed in his deep gravelly voice.
“To keep magescian’s away from my clan. Make it so that we don’t have to worry about raids anymore. To ensure that no more eggs are lost to the enslavement of the Bond. To find a way, hopefully, of breaking the bond forever without killing the bonded Drakeins.” The reasons were so easy for her to speak. She knew what she wanted; she knew it in her bones. Be it to kill all Magescians or to break the bond, either way, she would use this power to free her people from that bond!
Rhaze chuckled. “Good answers, very good. Would you kill a bonded?”
“In a flash.I have already tried. But I keep running into Magescians who are too powerful.” She growled.
“Good. Then come. Follow me. I hope you’ve brought enough orbs?” He raised an eye ridge at her as he turned to go deeper into the cave.
“Yes.” She pulled off the bag that had lain upon her back.
“You will need those. Follow.” He said briskly as he lead the way.
“To become a Drakeinian, you must be able to channel all the power in those orbs, channel it and control it. Make it yours, and then absorb it. It will be dangerous.” He looked over his shoulder at her. “Many die doing this. Burned out by the power they try to control. Often ties nothing is left but a charred skeleton.” He lead her out into a small hidden glade. “I figure a Kiandri would like to see the sky, so you may attempt your ritual here. Gather your thoughts and courage. Think back on all that you have been taught and experienced. Think on where you want to go. And then arrange the orbs about you in a circle. Smash the orbs to release the power. Then get ready for the rush. If you survive, then we shall talk.” He turned and left her there.
“Well, that was abrupt.” She looked up at the moon high in the sky above her, framed by the tall cliff walls. “But at least I can feel the wind.” She sat and arranged the orbs bout her, thinking on her life and her future.
Kadryn, nice girl who made tasty food and treated her like a person. Rosetta, the tiny girl who healed her and treated her with respect. Kioda, a free Ysali who she’s seen grown up. Toki, Brassarril, her clan. The many egg thieves, enslaved Drakeins, and the dragon she’d killed. She remembered the Magescain village she’d entered. Why can’t we live like that, she asked herself. A home that doesn’t worry about being attacked? I want that for my people! She snarled and gathered her power. She growled as she threw her magic out in a ring of electricity about her, linking it to all the orbs. In a shattering explosion, they burst. The tinkling sound of the orb’s shards hitting the ground were the last sound she heard before the wave of raw power hit. Hot, cold, wet, green, and electric; all the orbs powers washed over her, into her and she struggled not to drown in it. Growling to it, she sought to gra hold of it, but the power wouldn’t stay in her grasp. It danced around her, flames licking her scales, water drenching the ground about her, and lighting all around. It was everywhere, and even though she could feel it hurting her, she was exhilarated. All that power! She wanted it! But she knew that it wasn’t hers… not yet! Toki had taught her to know her limits, and she felt her limit getting reached. The power was too much. Her eyes opened and she growled in disgust. I will not die! I will do this again, and next time, I will ride that wave! I will tame it, control it! She let go of the power and grab ahold of her own. Gathering it about her like a shield, she forced all that excess power away, into the rocks around her.
Her eyes glowed purple as she felt the power that was slowly consuming her drain away. She took in a ragged breath and shook herself. She looked about and saw scorch marks all over the walls. And her scales themselves had been changed. No longer were they just a plain orange. Waves of light gold and pale rust dyed her hide. A mark from her battle with the power, she thought. Pretty! Sighing she stood up wearily and walked out. When she entered the room where she’d first met Rhaze he looked up at her and smiled.
“You live. That is a success, though it may not seem like it now. Not a Drakeinian. But more wise; and stronger you will find. And magic shall come easier to you. Next time you try, you will find that wave easier to ride.”
“Thank you, Rhaze. I think next time. I will rest a day before attempting, make sure I have a full stomach and more orbs.” She raised her head up higher. “Next time I will control it.” Rhaze chuckled, “I do not doubt it. Go back to your clan, and spread the word on what the ritual is. Too many think that is easy. Tell them what to expect that way we have less deaths.” He looked at her with a sad yet angry expression. “Too many of our strongest do not know how to control the wave, nor to separate themselves from it. And so they die. Tell them, teach the, that way our strong do not die. But live to fight and keep our people safe.”
Grrel nodded. That she could do.
