So she was a soldier of the light, a warrior of justice. It was all a little hard to take in, and despite this information coming from none other then a talking cat in the wake of a battle against a shadow version of her self, it was still hard to believe. Everything was different none. The world as Habibi knew it was new gone, and in it's place was something new and strange and not at all recognizable. It was disconcerting, alarming even.

And exciting.

If she were honest with herself, which wasn't hard, she could admit to looking upon this new avenue with growing curiosity. Her life had been laid out for her, through high school, through college. Bibi was well on her way to a fruitful career in linguistics. Some highly paid translator for visiting diplomats, or the head of a training program for some out sourced business. The possibilities were endless, and the young woman had her foot in the door. And now? Now, apparently, she had another path.

"Pavo," she mused quietly, letting the name roll of her tongue. "From the Phasianidae family. Peacock." Appropriate. Painted nails ran lightly over the side of her abdomen where a feather was permanently engraved into tanned skin. Emerald and sapphire, flowing over the curve of her hip. Duel stripes of matching color framed her face on the right side. Yes, Pavo was a fitting name.

It was a constellation, or so she'd learned. It was in the southern hemisphere, and shared the sky with 3 other constellations named for birds. All of this she'd learned since becoming what she was, and none of it really did a think to prepare her.

So she stood on the edge of some unknown building with her arms wrapped loosely around her stomach and the wind sending her hair in multicolored swirls around her. Knowing what she was didn't mean she knew what she should be doing. There were more questions then there were answers, and Pavo didn't knew where, or who, to talk to.

Initially he found the presence of the Negaverse mildly disturbing. He didn't think much of it at the time - it seemed a perfectly sensible reaction, given that he'd just learned about teenagers wielding magic and fighting for the sanctity of human minds against the evil and mysterious Moon Queen. Maybe he got a few details wrong, but a few things remained dreadfully certain: teenagers continually prowled the streets wielding magic and deadly weapons, he was charged with the task of draining energy to further their cause, and he wasn't entirely sure whether his actions warranted a pat on the back or a scathing diatribe.

However, as time wore on and he continually slept on the unmistakably difficult facts, he grew comfortable with his role in assuming the visage of some sultry protector who used the boon of energy to secure safety for those around him. Well, that wasn't entirely true - really he just found it remarkably exciting to flirt with strangers who would never recognize him for who he truly was, and stealing away scraps of energy until they passed out where they stood. He realized it sounded terribly cruel to do so, but when no one died, could he really consider it so heinous?

He'd heard of officers who ventured into the night solely to end lives, but he never imagined himself in such a position. However, the possibility of endless income stemmed from that very practice.

After suppressing a shudder, he continued his explanation. "Since they've got a whole lot of power, I'd say it's a good idea to avoid 'em all. Except the ones that look like me. Couple holes never hurt anyone, mm?" He grinned, and slipped a hand around the girl's waist. An easy gesture - one that brought on lethargy in due time.

And the girl nodded readily, only half-listening to his strange explanation of girls in skirts who wielded magic as a weapon. Truly her mind wandered to more carnal excursions, with a smattering of parental incredulity at her willingness to stay out past curfew and entertain the wiles of strangers. However, she found her focus slowly waning and her heels caught on the cracks between concrete slabs. She stumbled continually and gasped, and all the while her pace still slowed until Adonis shuffled lazily beside her.

Finally the girl's consciousness gave way, so Adonis made used of his boosted strength to carry her toward a nearby bench. As he approached, a nagging suspicion harried his thoughts, and Adonis found the familiar sensation harrowing in its implications. He'd only felt it at one other time - and that was in the presence of the enemy. The very one who declared she would turn him to their side, and kissed with the intent of that seduction.

But he owed it to the girl to afford her the meager comforts of a bench. He progressed, despite that narrow forewarning.

Something nagged and niggled and pulled at the mind. Something unknown and unexpected. It was completely foreign, and unsettling enough that the young woman found herself conflicted on if she should seek it out. On the one hand, she'd been told that she was a soldier, that she was charged with the protection of the innumerable citizens that called Destiny City home. Whatever slid across her senses felt.. off. Not evil, not exactly, but there was a certain wrongness that came attached with it that was beyond words. Je ne sais quoi.

Stealing herself, the senshi left her perch and took to the pavement, following the feeling, whatever it was. Hoping that it wasn't another shade, still plagued by the feel of slender fingers closing around her neck. Her newest nightmare. The sensory imprint would haunt her.

The memory made her grimace, and she shoved it away, wrapping around her that shaky sense of purpose that had come with this new role. Celestial warrior. The very idea should have been laughable, it wasn't.

It wasn't a shadow.

Sailor Pavo paused at the end of the street she'd just turned down, not entirely sure what she was looking at. A young man, tall, draped in black with hints of red. And there, on his chest, half hidden beneath blonde bangs.. Holes? She stared at him, at the dark starbursts that marked him, unable to tear gaze away. Captivated, mesmerized, like a bird watches an approaching serpent.

It didn't not register that she had just run into an enemy, why would it? The Negaverse she'd been warned about, the great evil that threatened the earth. Soldiers in varying ranks that wielded weapons like they, the senshi, wielded magic. But that was not what she'd stumbled upon. At least she didn't think so. "What are you?" Her voice was soft but clipped. Blunt, with just the razors edge of nerves.

Inexperience radiated off her in waves.

Oh, she must be new.

Adonis merely offered her a smile, before finishing the task at hand. He laid the unconscious girl atop a weathered bench, one marred with mild markings of initials within a heart. When he was sure that one of her legs wouldn't slip from the surface and hit the concrete in an awkward slouch, and she looked to be in a more natural sleeping position, he finally addressed the curious onlooker who naturally admired his holes.

Who wouldn't admire his holes? They were so dark and foreboding. Well, maybe not foreboding, but they were at least interesting. "You sure that's the right question to ask, babe?" With the girl now laid to rest, he circled around the bench easily and approached his onlooker. Good-looking herself, maybe not quite in his league, but still worth entertaining for a time. And the fact that she didn't quite have an understanding of corrupted senshi and what they meant to her proved quite the advantage. Sure, he hadn't been around forever, but he'd been around the block enough to understand the basics of his relatively new situation.

And since she didn't have a clue about his nature as a corrupt, he held the incredible advantage of spinning that information himself. Any number of things could influence her, like explaining that he's the next step in the senshi ladder, or even that they were from a different dimension or something. Hell, he could probably get away with telling her that she was from a different dimension.

The whole damned thing sounded hokey enough that just about anything would fly.

With a confident grin, he offered a bow. "I'm Adonis, a senshi of skin." Maybe there were other skin-based senshi out there, so why identify himself as the only one? "You've probably noticed I'm a little different than you. Holes everywhere, kinda strange." He cocked an eyebrow. "Kinda sexy. Well!" After clapping his hands together, he continued with what information he wanted to divulge. "We're pretty much the same thing, but different sides. See, you came from the stars and all, and you're here because your moon queen wants you to be. That's great. Lovely, even. A nice girl like you probably likes helping others like that, I get it. But the thing is, she just wants to reduce the entire human race into marionettes." He shrugged nonchalantly. "Maybe you're into that sort of thing, but I kinda like my free will. So I work with the Negaverse."

Adonis leaned against the back of the bench and studied the girl a moment. Truly she had a lot to offer - dark hair, accentuated with vibrant strands in her bangs, a tastefully dusky complexion, and the most interestingly complex senshi outfit he'd seen to date. Hell, it even rivaled his own in the sensuous display of skin. Tantalizingly pretty as she was, he still held the edge in the beauty department, and she followed the wrong line of reasoning in the realm of the war. Too bad - total loss to the Negaverse if he couldn't talk her into coming along with him.

But what was the shame in trying? "It's too bad we're on opposite sides, but maybe we can work something out, mm?" He winked.

Smiles were a boundless things. A means of communication or an indication of emotion. Even a mask with which one could hide behind. Shielded from the truth, or shielding it. Pavo regarded the smile that rested on the black clad senshi's face, and she struggled to find meaning in it. Some tell tale indicator of peace or hostility. The Hindi senshi could find none, but she had never been very skilled at reading people. A quick flick of dark eyes took in the woman on the bench as he arranged her, and full lips pressed in thoughtful lines. Cause or savior? He asked if she was sure of her question. "I'm Sure." Enemy, or intrigue.

Dark fabric moved as he approached, giving glimpses of high boots and pale flesh, and she longed for some manner of understanding as to his intentions or if she should even be afraid.

A healthy wariness ensured Pavo kept up her guard, but the blonde bowed, introducing himself with a flourish, answered her question and then some. Forthcoming with information, even eager to share his opinion. He didn't seem hostile.

He also didn't seem to have much of a charitable view of White Moon Senshi as a whole, or more specifically, the mysterious monarch they all called their queen and her supposed aim to ensnare the population as a whole.

Pavo frowned, a pretty little pout of full lips as she took it all in, and certainly, if the Senshi of Skin was to be believed, The notion was troubling. She tried to think back to when she'd been awakened, to pinpoint an instance where will had seemed limited, but nothing came to mind. Though as chaotic as that instance had been, would it be all that strange if she had missed things in the wash of magic and terror? She didn't know.

So she would stick to what she did know. His name, his role, his alignment. "Adonis of Skin, Senshi of the Negaverse." It was an unusual sphere, at least she imagined so. The newbie had met so very little of her own kind that it was hard to say what was strange or what was normal. She folded her arms, weight shifting to the right as she once again glanced down at the woman on the bench Adonis had taken to leaning against, then back up to his face. "I hear you're my enemy, or aligned with them in any case. But you're not attacking me, nor do you seem to intend to." He hadn't so much as frowned in her general direction. He had introduced himself though, and politeness dictated she return that favor. "I'm Pavo of Mirages, or so I am told."

"And what sort of something is there to be worked out?" Was there not a clear line drawn in the sand? Certainly there must be orders. Rules perhaps, that would frown upon inter-faction fraternization. Surely there must be some clear guidelines she hadn't been privy to that would explain what she should have been doing in this situation.

But information provided had been woefully lacking.

"Of course I don't intend to attack you, Pavo." She looked much to pretty to wear scars well, and he wasn't the type to inflict them. To distribute scars was to open himself to reciprocation, and he dreaded the day that his face endured deep gashes due to a war that he could never speak of. Contriving some trite little story about his injuries sounded incredibly unappealing, too - rather than explain that the Senshi of Mirages managed to land a hit on him, he'd likely end up with a story about hitting his head on the corner of the kitchen cabinetry or something equally bland. Not to mention he'd lose a lot of his attractiveness to some heinous scar tissue...

"We can't really stick around out in the open, my dear - someone will spot us, and Destiny City doesn't take too kindly to senshi, as you probably know." Considering how little information she possessed about senshi in general, he questioned whether she even watched the news enough to glean that much about public opinion. Adonis didn't focus on it - instead he gestured toward a relatively secluded side street framed by rows of mature birch trees. "Why don't you follow me for a little more privacy and I'll explain what I have in mind, mm? Simple enough, right? Come on."

Adonis wasn't interested in lingering much longer. She proved complacent thus far, so why stand around expecting her to take the lead? Besides, he hadn't demonstrated any inclination toward harming her, despite knowing that he must've been a senshi for longer than her to have obtained this much information. "Yes, well, there's always this tidy little label of enemy on every one of us, isn't there? It's easy to classify us as evil Negaverse agents, and claim that we want to take over the world or whatnot, but that's not always the case." The blonde senshi motioned toward himself grandly. "I, for one, don't want to contribute to the death toll." His workload reached a staggering number without his own interference.

Only the trees whispered quietly in this secluded street; no banter or barter occurred within earshot. This bade well for his potential deal. Somehow the chance of success proved every bit as fulfilling as a successful bluff at the poker table. "The deal's pretty simple, and it might not even amount to anything for either of us. We'll help each other out, you see. If you run into me again, I won't attack your friends or drain anyone's energy - as long as you surrender some of your energy to me. I need it, we all need it, and the only way to get it is through someone else, so if you're willing to give up a little energy, I won't have much reason to go assaulting someone else for it, you know?" After his mild proposal, Adonis about-faced to ensure he wasn't talking to himself along a street lined with naked trees.

The reassurance that any attack on her person would not be coming directly from the corrupted senshi before her was enough to help chase back some of the lingering weariness she'd been holding on to. Shoulders loosened, and hands came up to lace loosely together as she watched him. The agents of the Negaverse were an, as of yet, unknown entity to the senshi of mirages. She had been proved with a basic understanding of them, and even more basic run down on the Dark Mirror Court, and what had seemed like more of a pep talk than actual orders as far as her own role in all this was concerned.

Adonis, for all his dark attire and chaotic aura, had been nothing but polite and forthcoming to her. It clashed with what little she knew, changing perceptions that had not had time to set in stone in her so short time as a senshi.

If he could provide answers for her, information, then he was an asset.

As he started to lead them away from the woman and the bench she followed, aware that it could be nothing more than a trap, but doubting that as his motivation. If he'd wanted to hurt her, he could have done it already, and made his exit by now. "They are considered terrorists by the media." This, at least, she knew. While the young woman did not watch the news often, she had heard of the costumed fighters that roamed the streets at night. Logic said she was now among their ranks, but she had not yet encountered any hostility from civilians.

Though she had not yet encountered any civilians in her night time wanders.

As the reached is intended destination she slowed to a stop, one hand reaching over the silence the soft chime of bells that hung from the other. Pavo would never be stealthy, not with the gold and glittering things that decorated her body.

The deal he offered was a simple one, easily grasped, although aside from her family she did not have many friends that would need protecting from something that was supposed to be relatively harmless. Unless... "Senshi recover more quickly, and can provide more energy, due to whatever magic lets us transform, correct?" Logic and practicality. "If I allowed this, how much energy would you take?" Now those dark eyes narrowed, ever so slightly. She did not want to wind up like the woman on the bench, lost to the world for who knew how long.

"Yes, of course," he agreed, gesturing in a roll of his wrist while his free hand remained in a fist at the small of his back while they walked. "We're more durable and more energetic, dare I say, than regular people. What I take might just give you a good yawn, while Joe Blow off the street might pass out like a drunk. Trust me, you'll hardly notice it - a good night's rest and it's like it never happened." He never truly knew - for all the motions he endured to maintain and exceed his quota, each pull of energy felt vastly different from the last. Rarely he maintained a rather flatline sample in a night, and he knew not why - practice never seemed to make a difference.

Not that she needed to know.

Identifying any protected parties proved beneficial to him as well - likely the information portion of the Negaverse would appreciate the data concerning civilians of interest to a senshi, even if said senshi was low level... And possibly brand new. What could go wrong?

"Does that sound like a deal worth having to you?" Crossing his arms over his chest, he gripped each elbow in long, spindly fingers. While he waited for her answer, he realized he couldn't smell her - a surprisingly crippling realization. Has my work finally nixed my sense of smell? If not, it might be on the out - I've got to switch career paths before I wind up with cancer at 25... Assuming this game of 'war' is really just that.

Dark fingers released the bells as the senshi crossed her arms over the henna kissed skin of her stomach. She was watching him, looking for any sign of deceit or hidden malicious agenda. It did seem it. Granted, her social skills were rather lacking. She'd never been as good at reading others, as she was at reading books.

It did sound like a deal worth having, but there was something the woman wanted more than presumed safety for her family. If he did keep his word, it would mean revealing far more about herself than was probably wise.

No, there was something else she wanted. Drawing one hand up, she lay the bend of a finger against her chin as she regarded him thoughtfully. "I know well enough not to tell you who I am outside of this magical get up, and I'm new enough to lack allies that would need protecting." A soft little smile lit upon full lips. "Instead, I propose a counter offer. One that should still prove mutually beneficial."

Gold chimed as she took a short step closer, the tips of pale slippers peeking from the hem of her skirt. "Energy, as requested, in exchange for information." He was the first senshi she had met, and had thus far shown himself to be forthcoming, despite being corrupted. What Pavo wanted was knowledge. She wanted to know about the war she'd dragged into, and her place in it.If he could shine a light on the mystery that had become her night life, then what was a little energy? It seemed such a small price to pay.

"What do you say to that?"

"I'd say you have yourself a deal." He echoed the smile in kind, though it lacked the wherewithal to touch his eyes. "Energy for information it is, then." It's a cheap price to pay to meet the quota.

"Meeting here should be easy enough. I can come out to play on Tuesdays. I'll be out here after midnight, from..." He hummed thoughtfully in deciding a time. "One to two. If you need a tale or two, we'll make the exchange. Easy enough, no one gets hurt." And I don't have to clean up after anyone - including myself.

"It was a pleasure meeting you, Pavo." He slipped his hand in hers to offer a gentle shake, listening to the soft chime of bracelets adorning her wrist. It gave him pause in reminding him of something, though he new not what.

He supposed it didn't matter.

Turning on his heel, the blonde started toward the mouth of the alley, where he offered Pavo a curt wave over his shoulder. Just beneath a street light, he paused, and half-turned to pass over a last message to the girl before he departed for the night. "I'll be waiting," he said, sounding more expectant than invitational. He supposed that didn't matter either.

Energy was all that did.
