Out in the forest again, Kelina was waiting on an animal to cross her path. With Lasarra taming all kinds of animals, Kelina had to double her efforts on hunting. They needed enough meat to feed various animals, themselves, and to use as bait and training rewards for the animals. It meant near nonstop hunting every night for Kelina but she didn’t mind. Being out in the trees was calming for her, listening to the birds and the sounds of the forest reminded her of the night she had gotten the pretty blue bow that she carried with her. The moon was high in the sky and she knew she needed a kill soon so the night was not wasted. No matter where Kelina went in the forest, it seemed the animals were one step ahead of her, moving along before she could find them. She had finally decided to just stay in a spot that she frequently saw animals in hopes that they wouldn’t let her down again. With having no kills at all was very depressing to the young archer since she knew what depended on her, or rather who. It seemed she was in luck though, an animal had finally appeared. A spitorog, surely Lasarra’s radaku would like that right? Waiting for it to start grazing, she notched her arrow and steadied herself against the trunk of the tree she was hiding in. Finally, as it started to graze, Kelina didn’t have the best shot but she didn’t have long. Letting loose her arrow, it flew straight towards the spitorog but it was not enough. The arrow lodged itself in the animal’s rump and the animal ran away like a bee had merely stung it. With a sigh, she had lost the food AND an arrow.
