Zuri walked through the forest, her spear in her hand as she did so. She was looking for food to bring home, but didn't want all that much of a fight. She kind of wished she had chosen a path that she would be using a bow and arrows, but that wasn't her and she was fine with that. It did seem easier though. She could throw the spear though, Zuri nodded, yes that was what she would do. However that meant that her spear could get caught in the animal, and if it wasn't a fatal shot the animal could run away with it. No, she couldn't throw her spear and risk losing it. Hopefully she would just find something that didn't put up a lot of fight, like a Nondwa. They were quick so she would have to be quicker, but at least she knew they wouldn't try to fight her so the baby would be safe. Lost in her thoughts she didn't even pay attention to where she was walking and her next step landed on the heads of two Wadani. Zuri let out a startled squeak and jumped back for a second before trying to jam her spear into the head of one of them. She missed it and both animals started to dig their way out of the ground and run away. Furious with herself for being so careless to walk on the animals she started to run after the two of them. She had never seen the creatures before and made a mental note to ask her husband about them when she got home but it would be best if she actually had a dead one to show him. For all she knew they could be extremely tasty, and if they were tasty than she wanted them!
The Wadani were quick but she was gaining on them, at least she thought that she was, and if she could make her energy last just a little longer she knew that she would be able to get to them and kill at least one. But she was pregnant, and unfortunately getting tired easily was a side effect. As she ran Zuri tired to freeze the animals by shooting out what little magical ability she had at them, unfortunately it wasn't working at all. Zuri swore under her breath. How was she letting two stupid animals get the best of her! No she could do this, she had to, even if no one was around her pride would be too wounded if she didn't.
After a few more minutes of running in the forest Zuri had to stop and doubled over with her hands on her knees. Zuri swore again, finally admitting to herself that she wasn't going to catch anything that day. "When I'm not pregnant I'll be coming back for you... Whatever you are..." she said before righting herself again. She might as well start the walk home. That way she could catch her breath and at least look to be normal by the time she got home to her husband.
