When someone inside of the monster dorm had announced that it was raining minipets outside, Sura had looked out of her window to see if this was some sort of awful joke somebody was trying to play on her. At first, it had seemed like it was, as she didn't see anything outside. But an ensuing arguement out in the hallway had the word 'invisible' crop up and with a puzzled look, Sura had made her way outside, just to have something pelt her in the head.
Looking around, eyes turning from blue to red to yellow, she still couldn't see anything. Then another thing pelted her in the head and she grabbed the empty air above her. Nothing. But when the next invisible spatter hit her head, she grabbed the impact point and picked it up, waving her arm up, then down, then up, then down, eyes shifting between blue and yellow as she considered the actual weight in her hand from the invisible what thing.
But the most scientific process Sura ever did was to see if something was edible - by shoving it directly into her mouth to see if it had taste (which it did). Which was why Sura was now much more interested in seeing if she could find anything else invisible she could eat with a pleased rumble.

Much like Sura, Helmut had caught word of a literal rain of minipets, and had thought it was definitely too good to be true. After all, with there being so many of them lying around nobody would notice if one or two or thirty went missing, right?! It's not like they were somebody's actual pet! So she made a point of staying outside all day, sitting on the grounds and staring at the sky to ensure that she was one of the first to see - and profit - from this apparent rain.
At first, nothing happened.
Then she heard the sounds of something hitting the ground, but there was nothing there. She sniffed the ground near the impact area and certainly smelled minipet...but nothing? A yelp escaped her throat as something else hit the ground near her, sending her scampering to the side a pace or two, holding her helmet protectively. Still, she could smell it, but there was nothing there. She was so confused.
There was a little more ground sniffing, and Helmut finally reached out a tiny black claw to poke at the apparently empty space in front of her, but stopped short. There was someone in the distance - a very tall someone - doing a little dance. Lifting their arms this way and that as if weighing something. Suddenly the nothing in front of her wasn't interesting, but that was the appeal of actually seeing something tangible.
"Is it a thing?" Helmut asked as loudly as she dared (which was a normal tone; normally she would have whispered, but this creature was huge and she wasn't about to yell), staring wide-eyed up at the fellow Monster through the eye sockets of her helmet. "Food thing?" She clarified in the same tone, mimicking the way Sura had eaten the invisible thing.

Still lacking a general immediate reaction of looking down, Sura seemed puzzled briefly, yellow lacing her otherwise black eyes, as she looked around trying to find out who was speaking to her. After about 30 seconds of that, though, she slowly turned her head down to see if the speaker was there.
There was someone there, at least, and Sura tilted her head slowly at them with interest. They certainly had a big head to go with such a small body. She wouldn't recognize the skull on Mut's head as not her head until it was removed, so until then it was a big head on a small body.
The pantomime was probably unnecessary, yet appreciated by the Colossus who seemed to have liked it based on the way her eyes turned blue and she mimicked it before rumbling a "Yes, It was a food thing," with her dual voices and a small shake of the ground around her feet. "Hiding food thing," she added with clarification, eyes suddenly flashing to red as another invisible minipet hit her in the head and she looked up at the sky as though she was offended.
Her tail gave a murderous swing and several invisible minipets went flying in a few directions. Sura looked at the ground and brought her tail around it again, feeling around before she moved to quietly pick up one of the small weighted things and giving it the same curious heft. Then she held it out to Mut. "It is a thing."

Being tiny, Helmut was used to being overlooked. Just not overlooked for a whole thirty seconds. She waited patiently to be spotted, as it was clear the massive monster was looking for her, and was just about to pipe up again when the blue eyed creature looked down. With the way the skull sat on her head it was unlikely that her smile would be seen, but it was there nonetheless. Yay, a creature that looked happy! Not like Hel, who would string her up to the flag pole again!
"Hiding food thing." Helmut parroted as if it all made sense, looking thoughtfully over her shoulder where the impact sound and minipet smells had come from, and nodded. Yes, yes that made perfect sense; if it was invisible, then you could see it and smell it and probably feel it but not see i---
A minipet landed with a heavy clunk onto her helmet, enough to make the poor little ghoul yelp out awkwardly and perform a little flail to prevent herself from hitting the ground. Her her head shook but she held onto dear old Uncle Carl, and then sniffed around for the offending creature. Like before she was distracted by her new large friend, who had suffered a smiliar fate but was how holding something out to her. Probably. Tiny hands reached out to take it, surprised to find that it actualy felt like a real live warm thing, and again looked up to hear the confirmation that it was a thing, and a food thing too.
Her jaw unhinged, the corners of her mouth splitting and separating to accomodate the shift. In the same fluid motion she darted her head down and snapped her jaws closed around the invisible thing her tall companion had given to her. Rows and rows of sharp teeth broke and tore into the minipet, reducing it to harmless fear in her mouth before she swallowed it.
And then belched.
"...Hee. Sorry." She apologized sheepishly, pressing a tiny hand to her mouth. She brought herself to her feet but didn't even make it to her new friend's waist (skull excluded). Not that it mattered, she was a happy camper. "More?" She stared up at her new best friend, and then suddenly paused.
"Oh!" Little Helmut cleared her throat, and then linked her hands behind her back. "My name is Helmut Purge and I am new here. I'm very pleased to meet you and I hope that we can be good friends." She recited as if she had been schooled to do so and had done it hundreds of times before in practice. "And eat all the things!" She tagged onto the end, arms thrown happily into the air.

Sura watched the little Wendigo's jaw unhinge and it seemed the two very different yet very similar students had something else in common as not only did Sura's jaws completely sever, but the front and back sides of her neck also rended apart to make a VERY long mouth space. Look, little not-Colossus, I too have a big mouth!
Blueblueblueblueblue.
Sura slowly sat down, her body rumbling more than a volcano as she crossed her legs and waited for another minipet to hit her, tail flicking from side to side as she tried to figure out where all the offending (but delicious) bodies were. The next one was offered out to Helmut again, but Sura paused at the introduction, eyes shifting briefly to yellow in realization that yes, that was what a new meeting required.
"Calamitas Esurientes. Sura will work." she introduced in turn, "Second Year, friends is good." she agreed with rumble that was probably what would have been a purr in a housecat. Then she held out the minipet again, relinquishing it so she could pick up one herself to enjoy the invisible meal.
In fact, she packed about three minipets in her gullet before she closed her mouth. While she didn't chew, there was an almost snake like squeezing in her throat that implied anything of the variety. (Then again, Sura's actual 'jaw' was at about her collar bone...)

Helmut stared up at Sura as she opened her massive maw, a noise escaping her that was very close to pure delight. Tiny hands clapped together, so happy to find someone that was more or less like her. A lot bigger, a lot warmer and with colour changing eyes, but just like her! Her delight trailed off into happy little chitters fom deep within her throat.
"Calamitas Esurientes or Sura! Okay!" It was always nice to repeat the names of the people she met, because it helped her remember it. She took the offered minipet and downed it again, happily absorbing all of the FEAR it could provide. All around her she could still hear the fall of minipets, the thud of little bodies against the unrelenting ground, the occasional crunch of bone. Sura had now given her a few delicious snacks, and it was her turn to return the favor!
Helmut crawled away from Sura, sniffing at the ground and following the scent of the recently fallen. It didn't take her too long to find a few minipets and nudge them back to Sura, close enough to touch her knee. "For you!" An offering for a friendship, and in return of the kindness she had already been shown. The whole time, she was smiling wide.
"Rain foodstuffs often?" It didn't back home, but then again back home was always snow and cold.
