It there was one animal in the world that Jacinthus would say that he really hated it would be the Witu. He'd dealt with them on many occasions in his life from that time he'd saved a little girl from, to the point where he'd been sent after a giant one for it's fang, and then saving that girl Meri from them. It seemed that no matter what he was doing the Witu would crop up, show their ugly faces, and do their best to take a giant bite out of his backside. Today was no different then any other day it would seem, with him stuck dealing with those sharp toothed monstrosities, "I just hope you know that I hate the lot of you!" He spat at the two of them that were trying to make a meal out of him. it was likely the fact that he'd killed them in the past, many of them, and they were out for revenge or something. He wasn't positive if animals thought in such a manner but given how often the Witu seemed to show up in his life he wouldn't be surprised.
With his knife in one hand, normally used only for skinning and butchering, and his bow in the other, being used as a club due to the fact that he was in such close combat the Hunter was doing his best to ward the snappy creatures off. He had been bitten a couple times, wounds he barely felt at the moment due to the adrenaline rush, and he'd handed out a few blows to each of them as well, one having gotten a slash across the eye and the other having been clubbed in the jaw with his bow. It really was only a matter of time before one side was going to come out on top and Jacinthus could only hope that it was him. The very last thing that he really wanted to lose to was a damn Witu... though he supposed it would make sense for them to eat him. Just, not today, he had many, many other things that he wanted to do before he became Witu chow he thought to himself, taking another swing at the closest Witu, pleased with the satisfying sound that it made when his bow hit the thing in the head.
Of course a moment later his delight was cut short as the pissed off Witu grabbed hold of his bow, trying to tear it out of his hand, while the second one lunged forward, jaws open wide, looking as though it were about to snap it's teeth down on his wrist... when there was sudden a halt of 'loose' and a rain of arrows fell down around the, a number of them coming quite close to hitting Jacinthus but he realized so long as he didn't move their aim would stay true. The Witu didn't fair as well though, one of them getting cut down instantly, the other able to flee a distance before the same fate befell it. Not his kill, which meant he had no claim to the bodies, but at least his own hide had been saved which was far more important. Trotting over to his fellow Leaf Tribesmen and fellow hunters, men he knew from Yera, he couldn't seem to profess his thanks enough. He would live to fight another day it would seem due to his Leaf Tribe brothers... provided of course Takoda didn't kill him for coming home with fresh wounds that needed healing.
