This Is a Magic Story Book... It updates as the story goes along...

Magic...In ancient times, there was no magic... or at the very least, no one knew they had magic in the first place. The power it possesses can not be used by normal bodies, there are simply no outlets for it. Thus, the fire laid dormant within, unused, unacknowledged.

But as with all things, that eventually changed....

The story differs from teller to teller, some say it was discovered by someone to save their life. Some say it was discovered through enlightenment. Others say it was bestowed upon them by the gods themselves. But one things is certain, from such humble origins would soon grow the most powerful force in this world.

A tree. Plain bark, simple leaves, the fruit it bears is... frankly, disgusting, and some believe it is even poisonous. Because of that, no animal eats it, and its seed is fertilized not by manure, but by the rotting fruit that surrounds it. This led this tree to grow in densely packed groups. But this is not the only noteworthy thing about it.

It can channel magic, and is the only known thing to be completely immune to it.

Its wood could funnel the raw magic out of a mages body and into a tangible form. Its leaves could be engraved with powerful runes to be used at will, and its sap became the core of elementals, beings summoned to serve the mages.

When the first mages discovered this fact, they quickly cultivated the tree and used its unique trait to cultivate their power. These people eventually rose above non-mages, ruling over them. But those under their reign refused to become mere servants, and thus found settlements away from the mages.

For years all was well between the two nations, but soon the pride of the mages overwhelmed them. They were clearly superior, as such they have every right to subjugated their mundane brethren. But when they announced their claim, they were refused. Insulted, they suddenly waged war. Rather, they announced a massive purging.

The mages called it, the Storm, for the event was more akin to a force of nature than a marching army. Fires engulfed forests, floods drowned the lands, the earth cracked beneath their adversary's cities and the winds laughed at their impending demised. Soon, they neared the last remaining city, poised to topple its towers, the mages launched their spells, but were suddenly stopped.

In front of them, a resounding cry echoed through the wind as earthquakes divided their forces. Mountains began raining down from the heavens, while the wind beneath them swept them about like dolls. From nowhere, water crashed through their highest towers and lightning struck down those that would oppose such wrath. The elements devastated their armies, crushed their cities, burned down the majority of their beloved trees and scattered the survivors to far-flung islands.

It took a century to discover the means to use magic, a decade to realize its full potential, a month to wield its destructive nature, and a week to send it all falling down. To the mages it was a nightmare, but to their opponent's it was a force that defended them, that overwhelmed their Storm, a Godstorm.

Now, several years after and the land has healed and is blooming with life, both sides of the war are healing, one better than the other. The humans numbers are by the thousands now while the magi only have a few hundred. The majority of the remaining mages lay isolated within their isles while the humans occupy the mainland, growing ever larger in population. But one thing on everyone's mind that was never answered was caused the mages downfall?

The relationship between magi and humans are considerably better now than it was years ago, but tension and doubt still remain. The humans do allow mages to come to the mainland, but only a few. The magi on the other hand also allow humans to come to their isles, but only those who are selected by them.

Humans capable of using magical mediums such as wands, staffs, tomes, and orbs. Once a mage has grown accustom to a specific medium of his choosing, they find it very difficult to use another medium, and as a result each mage only specializes in the use of one type of weapon. A mage's skills and capabilities grow by frequency, meaning the more times he uses a spell, he or she becomes more familiar with the spells nature and the method or technique used to cast it. A mage's capacity however grows by draining it first. When a mage wishes to last longer when casting spells, he or she exhausts all his mana and thus forcing his body to adapt and create a larger 'mana well' allowing for storage of greater amounts of mana, although having a large mana well is very advantageous to any mage, increasing its size is very dangerous. If a mage pushes himself to far, such as using spells when his mana well is empty, his or her body begins to draw power from the mages own life force, and doing so can and will cause instantaneous death. . . . .
Wand Class ( aka Rogue of the Magi )
> Specialize in the use of short and thin magical mediums usually the length of ones forearm. The magi of this class are very agile as well and although their spells may be weeker as compared to other classes of Magi, do not be fooled, the stregnth of a mage does not lie in the power of his or her spells, but on how one uses it. In this case, wand users have the advantage of speed. Wands require very little time to be imbued with magic and thus the wielders of it can cast a barrage of spells in a short time frame. Sending one spell after another, overwhelming the enemy not with raw power but with sheer number.

Staff Class ( aka The Common Mage )
> Magi of this class are very common. They use a long staff usually the length of their body and the width of their wrists. Staff users are balanced users, the vast majority of their spells are channeling spells such as flamethrowers, barriers, and blasts of elements. They do have spells such as earth spikes, and short period telekinesis. They Battle the enemy by casting a constant wave of spells, although not as fast as a wand user does, their spells are more powerful and have a greater amount of damage delt upon hitting their target(s)

Tome Class ( aka Rune Writers )
> The mages of this class are arguably the most intellegent of magi. Memorizing page upon page upon page of runes. They use these runes by placing them down wherever there is a surface for them to be placed upon. The Book Magi can be very diverse due to the multitude of uses of his runes. from runes that act as sight wards, allowing him or her to see an area even if he or she is not there, to runes that act as land mines, slightly hidden until stepped upon by an unfortunate human or mage then releasing the spell that was bound to it when it was placed. As with any other magi class, the Tome Class also has its weaknesses. The tome holds hundreds of runes, but placing one down, doing so would require a number of runes to be used, when a rune is used it temporarily dissapears from the Mages tome and once the rune placed down is removed, the runes instantly return to the tome, but if the rune placed down is activated or wears out, the runes used would return slowly and one at a time.

Orb Class ( aka The Summoners )
> Magi Who make contracts with a strong familiar or several weeker ones which ever they choose. THey embue their orbs to serve as a bridge for their summons, allowing it to maintain a tangible form in the material plain. Their summons charge forward in battle in their place as they remain at a distance, controling it. The summons themselves may be ' harmed ' or even ' killed ' but all the Mage must do is embue his or her orbs once again and summon it. The weakness of the Orb user though is that the mage looses the ability to concentrate on his or her surroundings and unable to move, funelling all his attention and focus to control the familiar. A summoner is strongest when his familiars are present but it is also when he is at his weakest.

Ordinary Human beings, make up a large majority of the sentient population of the known world, roughly ninety percent of it. Although they lack the capability to use magic they are however commonly more physically fit compared to the magi. There are however 'special' types of humans, also known as the Elite. They specialize in anti-magic combat. Their capabilities place them on a pedestal far above any mere human being. Even though their capabilities are great, members of the Elite are required to go in groups, a crew with a minimum number of three and a maximum of six. During the war between magi and humans, the Elite were the ones on the battle field at a regular basis, taking down mages one after another, but with the mages large number and magic, the Elite could not do much to fight back. Now, several years have passed since the end of the war, the Godstrom, the Elite serve as a protection unit. They hunt down magi who become powerful enough to be a threat.

◇Land of Faerun
⊲ A land who's soil is bountiful and who's mountains are teeming with precious metals and crystals of all sorts. Faerun has several mountain ranges scattered throughout its lands and forests grow a stones throw away from one another leaving small clearings here and there. Several Isles surround this land, some small and some are large. There are three lakes spread out in Faerun and rivers of all sizes run across its lands. Faerun is a bountiful place, teeming with life.

◇Country of Halruaa ( aka The Mainland )
⊲ The mainland of Faerun. Has five cities. The vast majority of this countries inhabitants are ordinary humans, but there are magi scaterred amongst its population.
Cities of Halruaa are...
◇City of Windheilm
⊲Located High up in the mountains, above the city of Denerim. This city is the military capitol of Halruaa, being such at such a high altitude the population of Windheilm is accustomed to cold temperatures and have a very high stamina. There are absolutely no magi here, and they are very strict about their "no magi" law. People here are very strong and physically fit.

◇City of Starkhaven
⊲The largest city in Halruaa. This is where the population, products, and practices of all the cities of Halruaa come to collide and mix. This city is very diverse and very busy. The streets always have people wandering about even past midnight. One could easily get lost here.

◇City of Dawnstar
⊲The Capitol city of Halruaa. A shining city with a multitude of shops, taverns, markets, schools, and many more things. This city accepts magi but favors humans. The quality of produce here is nothing short of high... and is its price.

◇City of Rivenwood
⊲Adjacent to this city is a large river. It is a fishing and agricultural city. The markets here are full to the brim with fish, fruits, herbs, and anything made of wood. This city has the largest percentage of magi among all the other cities. The population here still however compose primarily of normal human beings, and on the account of so many herbs and fruits this city also has a long life expectancy .

◇City of Denerim
⊲A City located at the foot of large mountain, below the city of Windheilm. The primary business and source of income here are related to valuables found beneath Gaia's skin. There are no shortages of blacksmiths and jewelers here. One can buy metals, crystals, and armor here for half their usual price. The large majority of the population here are muscular and fit humans.

◇Isles Surrounding Halruaa ( aka The Mage Islands )
⊲ There are several islands that surround Halruaa, only three of which are populated. The other islands still remain untouched due to the rough waters and their sharp cliffs. The three islands were only populated by the magi after the war, ended by the Godstorm. They fled there running from the storm and from the hate of the humans that they failed to conquer. The islands populated by the magi are...
◇Island of Vizrhune
⊲ The least populated island. This island is the home of the rune writers, rarely is there any form of noise, conflict, or argument that occurs here. The magi here like to live a quiet and relaxing life tucked away in their libraries. Somehow this is the richest of the magi Islands, each household having a chest of gold in their basement. No one knows how they earn their wealth.

◇Island of Milesmife
⊲ The largest of the populated Islands. The population here are a mix of all types of magi, but there are more wand and staff users, and a few humans who usually work at inns, taverns, libraries, and markets. Everyone here do try to get along but there is never a shortage of arguments on what class is the best.

◇Island of Velnias
⊲ The isle of Velnias, also known as the demons isle. No ordinary human come here, only occupy this island. Given its nickname due to the familiars and summons of the mages who inhabit it, a large percentage of the familiars and summons here have the appearance of demons or monstrosities. As one would expect the magi who live here are orb users, although not who call this island home are summoners, There very few wand and staff users that reside here.
