Travel had become tiresome for the Skiddo. He'd been on the move for almost a week now when an unexpected downpour started an even more unexpected rock and mud slide, wiping out the place he'd called home up until that point.
He was hoof sore, and tired and finally he found a place that felt somewhat safe, and clear of possible rocks and mud. Dropping down he halfheartedly chewed on some leaves before he was settling, back presented to the world so he more or less blended in with the greenery around him.
A little nap...thats all he wanted right now...

Alistair was hungry. The deino-child dragged his teddiursa toy out into the woods, stomping through the underbrush and sniffing for a snack. His mama had gotten onto him last time he'd tried to eat the nice-smelling soap and shooed him out to play for a little while. Well, that was fine! He was just going to find a berry bush out here to snack on, instead.
"Come on, Teddy," he crooned to his plushie, cradling the well-worn toy in one arm. "We're going to find something really tasty!"
Sniff.
Sniff sniff. Speaking of which, what was that? Picking up speed on his small, bare, blue feet, the little deino crept through the underbrush and finally charged, mouth-first, at his target.
"Salaaaad!"

There was the sound of something running at him...what was charging at him a Rhyhorn?
His eyes had barely begun to crack open when he heard the battle cry of his foe, and felt the teeth clamp down on his back.
This of course had him shoot to his hooves and sort of bucking to dislodge to offending...whatever it was! He hadn't gotten a look at the individual yet.
Finally he did take a moment to do just that.
"Ach! What are ye doing? I'm not...this sah-lad stuff yeh mentioned!" he grumped a little, a snort of dismay as he clomped a hoof against the ground.

Rolling away and spitting leaves out of his mouth, Alistair made a face and pulled himself back up to his feet, point an accusing finger to the right of his original target (although he was intending to point at him.
"Salad doesn't talk!" He declared, pouting. "Don't pretend t' be salad mister.... mister not-food!"

Uaithne winced at the leaves being torn off him, making a distinct bleat of displeasure at the ripping sensation, and he lowered his head to butt at the boy to show his annoyance! "Ahm not sahlahd...or food, or anneh of this stuff yeh're going on about! I'm Uaithne!" He refrained from charging, for the moment...but he did paw at the ground a moment in contemplation of still crashing into him with his head and horns. Bite him would he!?

Alistair squeaked in upset, pouting at the stranger who was making sounds he didn't understand (but wasn't sure he liked).
"But -but you smell leafy!" And blank gray eyes narrowed, their owner indignant. "You smell leafy and I'm hungry so I didn't know you weren't salad."
Really.
Perfectly good snacking opportunity ruined.
"You shouldn't smell like salad if you're not salad - it makes people think about eating you!"

The squeaking was ignored because he didn't understand why it was being done. "But I'm supposed to smell leafy because I have leaves on me!" he pawed at the ground more, eyes narrowed. "You shouldn't go around biting innocent pokemon! That's mean!" and there he went, charging at the other a bit, to butt him in the stomach in indignation. Not that he was moving very fast he wasn't aiming to hurt if he connected, just make a point of his annoyance.

"But why do you have leaves on you?" Alistair asked, then squawked and collapsed on his back as he was knocked over. "I didn't know you were a pokémon, I bit to find out if you were food!"
He bit his lip and clutched at Teddi, tears welling up in his eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for eating you mister not-salad. I didn't mean to be mean."

"I don't know, I just do. I always have. They're part of me." he huffed slightly at the other as the boy fell over. "I'm Uaithne. not 'mister not-salad' and it's okay. Just don't do it again or else. If you're hungry there's edible leaves over here." he jerked his head to the left towards some tasty leaves he'd eaten earlier.

"Uth...Uff..." Alistair tried to sound out the name, but it was strange and difficult for him to pronounce. "Mister Uffy!" the Deino-child settled on something that he could pronounce, and smiled. "Ewww forest-leaves? Icky!"
Sniffing the air, he tilted his head, and added. "Got dressing?"

How he got Uffy, from Wet-nah he wasn't exactly sure, and he blinked in surprise at the child but gave as much of a shrug as he was able. "A'ight, Uffy it is."
He took a step back, tail twitching as he sniffed at the air, and the boy. "What's...dressing? You're kind of weird you know that?"
