 Survey Mission 4D

General debriefing: A team of dedicated individuals looking to write a magazine article about the island visited the area two weeks ago. Despite search and rescue attempts, none of them have made it back alive. They have noticed however, odd dolls shaped like the team hanging from the tree branches...
* C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee) MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 4D. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a INSANITY ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics. 1- 20: The island is extremely foggy, the ground uneven and moist. You take a few steps in the soft soil until you hear a sudden crunch. You just stepped on the glass eye of a doll. 21 - 40: You notice that the dolls look to be in varying conditions, some with maggots curling out of them while others still look oddly new and untouched. All of the new ones are missing their eyes. 41 - 60: You notice a cabin deeper on the island. Inside is a small den, a few rooms, and a statue of a wolf head, creepily enough. The trap door in the center will not open but you can hear a music coming from underneath... 61 - 80: The wind begins to pick up, as the dolls begin to stir and move, as if with a life of their own. All seems okay until - you see a new addition to the lineup of dolls. Is that a doll of YOU? It is also missing its eyes. 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - As you continue walking down you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination? - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back. * 4 mission reward points for completing this successfully

She did not know whether to be thankful the portals were partially back up or groan. Especially since not very long after the announcement was made and many hunters were salivating at the idea of having a chance to get off the Island again... one of those dreaded text messages had come. And so, resigned to whatever fate they would face, Fini headed towards the Lighthouse portal to meet up with the rest of her team.

Nevada yawned, returning from her latest trip to the outside world. Last time it had been a Amusement park, this time it was...well...
She woke at almost 30 minutes before the posted time, slowly making her way down to the lighthouse. Luckily, she had no need to plaster large amounts of makeup on to hide dark circles.
THEY WERE WHAT THEY WERE.
"Hi Fini." The girl ambled over to the sun hunter and lazed on her, making sure to cross her arms around Fini's shoulders for support. "What's the...mission....this time..." Mmmm nice shoulders to nap on.

Kat hated mornings - despised them even - so naturally, she wasn't happy to discover this was an early bird mission.
Arriving at the lighthouse, with a coffee tightly gripped in her hand, Kat wiped the sleep from her eyes and waved to the two girls. "Hey hey hey, how goes it?" She yawned, half way through her sentence, before raising the coffee to her lips.
"Whats the mission?"

If she'd had the extra energy to spare, she'd have been rather excited to see Nevada show up. Instead it was a miracle the two of them didn't go toppling over when she was leaned against. Or draped along. Either was an accurate description.
"Hiii Nevada~" She mumbled around a yawn, leaning into the other woman while squinting at some paper thing that had information on it. There were words on there, right?
"Mmmm... " Okay that was not an answer.
But that was a Kat.
"It goes." Fini replied, turning the sheet right side up and managing to get an idea of what the jumble of text said. "Uhh... looks like... something about an island, err, 'Isle', I mean." She paused, skimming through it. "And dolls?" Huh?! It was too early for this crap. "Um, I think we are going to this Isle and," a pause, "investigating a disappearance and... dolls." Sounded fun, right?

Nevada was totally leaning on Fini, and if they did go toppling well, that was cause of lack of sleep Deus. Damn you.
She made a small chuckle at Fini's answer, looking over the girl's shoulder to read the mission. Luckily Kat showed up, giving her a wave.
"Good morning Kat." She remembered the girl from a mission with Ami...A long while ago. "It goes...somewhere." Somewhere as in where were they going?
"Oh...The doll Island again..." Nevada blinked, "I wonder why they keep having disappearances!" She smiled at Fini, "Are you perhaps...creeped out by dolls..." She moved her hands to tickle at Fini's sides.
Tired or not, she did like to mess around.

Both girls received a small, lazy wave from the sun hunter as she continued walking.
Kat stopped dead in her tracks on her way over to the other girls. Her grip on her coffee loosened, as she almost dropped the hot beverage all together. "What..?" She was joking right? She wasn't referring to that damned island that spawned all those freaky a** dolls was she? Unfortunately, as soon as the word 'dolls' escaped her lips, that was all Kat needed to confirm her suspicions. "Ugh, I hate that place."
One trip to that island was enough for her. She wasn't looking forward to a second trip.

Again? Fini tossed both the other women a look. Ohgod they had been here already? So they were kind of familiar with what was to be expected. Where as she was stuck letting her fried brain come up with glorious ideas of what could happen.
"Sorry, wish I was." Fini told Kat with an apologetic look. That may or may not have held a bit of unease because goddamnit, dolls, really?!
"Who me? No wa-" And then she was yelping slightly as Nevada tickled her sides. Yeah. Totally not afraid of dolls or anything nope.
She just gave Nevada a pitiful look. Why, Nevada, whyyyyy?!
"Okay creepy doll island. We got this, right ladies?" She tried to regain some of her dignity. "Lets do this."

Nevada stretched.
"Creepy doll Island here we comeeeeeeeee." She smiled as headed into the portal, drawing her coat close.
"Don't look them in the eye Fini...They might get you." She teased, wiggling her fingers at the sun hunter.

Ugh, it would figure that she would have to go to the isle of dolls again. Ah well, at least she knew most of what to expect from this place. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be, I guess." A small grin tugged at the corner of her lips as she discarded the empty cup of coffee into the closest trash bin.
Stretching, she followed the girls over to the portal, waiting for each of them to step through, before entering herself.

Fini just gave Nevada a dirty look before stepping through the portal. And, of course, not knowing what to expect upon arriving on the other side, her imagination might have gotten the better of her. Or thinking of Nevada's words. So when she blinked and took in the scenery around her... Fini may have shivered and found the dolls she could see exceptionally creepy ohmygod!
"Creeeeeepy~" She muttered, stepping hesitantly towards the nearest bunch and poking at a doll.
And then there was a crack. Which scared the s**t out of her.
No she did not squeal.
Maybe a soft yelp.
And then another crack and at that point, Fini forgot about her dignity and clung to Nevada's arm. "What the hell was- " Before she could finish the sentence, it was like a gas line had ruptured and there was gas leaking up from the ground all around them.
Coughing, she clung tight, feeling her head spin and... she shrieked as something that looked suspiciously like one of those dolls blinked and moved before disappearing. Nyxtsuki Moon really Fini? u couldn't wait and explore a bit first?? xD LividPeas guess we go right into battle!

The dirty look was met with a very lazy smile..and wiggling of fingers again.
"Oh that one looks like Finn..." She pointed at the broken doll, "and look a Fini one...I thought I grabbed this one.." She held up the almost intact doll of herself and narrowed an eye at it.
The soft yelp had Nevada turning her head over to Fini and narrowing an eye...
"Wait...Fini." Then arm clinging, gas spilling and Oh god dolls started to move. "Shoot which ever one looks like it's coming for you..." well her and Kat would do the shooting, Fini would be the one slashing things right? Right.

The island hadn't changed at all from when she had last been here. Still eerie, and the land scattered with those bloody dolls. If they were lucky, they could be in and out of here without any trouble. Though, that was highly unlikely. "Seen it before, still don't like it." Kicking one of the dolls aside, Kat folded her arms over her chest, casually glancing off to the side now and then as if to watch for any movement.
With the gas spreading around them, Kat quickly brought her hand to her face to keep from inhaling any of it. It was like Deja vu all over again, which means the sun hunter was already summoning her weapons.
Casting Nevada a quick glance, the sun hunter had to keep from laughing. That would mean shoot every damn thing in sight. Fine by her. Drawing her weapons up, Kat aimed four well timed shots at the closest of the dolls. She was so done with this s**t.
"You two okay?" She called out to the other two, prepping Xedis for another round.

That so was not funny, Nevadaaaa!
Fini did not like the doll look-alike. Of either herself or Finn. And it was kind of creepy just how close the little dolls resembled them...
But then there were dolls everywhere and some horrid fog. She actually felt a bit of jealousy at the other two girl for having guns instead, well, 'swords'. Which just sent Vashi into a fit in her head, his growling mixing with the eeriness of the island. Fini slashed at anything that got close, scowling at some of the dolls that seemed to be mocking them.
"I am never owning a doll again, so help me!" She growled, letting Nev and Kat take out the ones she couldn't reach while she attempted to get the ones that slipped past their bullets.
