Locked deep within HQ a room with no doors, windows, lights, or carpet sits. How one gets into this room in unknown. But one thing is for sure, a desk and a stack of papers sit, waiting for one who is capable to grade them.

Outside the door rests a drop box for these missions, which were graded in accordance to when they were received.

As always, post the following information:

Quote:
Mission Level
The Mission Brief (Includes Title, Objectives, Pokemon Available, Rewards, ect.)
Current Pokemon Team(with evo points):
Inventory: [all items that apply]
Mission Body

Don't forget to read the mission rules as well!

When it comes to posting missions, don't post another mission until the previous mission is graded. All of this will help prevent clutter and will hopefully keep mission graders from getting overwhelmed.
Also, whenever you grade a mission, be specific! Highlight what you liked about the mission and what you didn't like, don't just say pass or fail. You can't learn or improve if you don't know what you're doing wrong. And remember, a missions rewards can be altered depending on the quality of said mission! When you pass a mission, PM a Tier 1 to update the newly caught Pokemon and/or newly acquired rank.

Quote:
Here's a quick summary of who can grade missions and hand out rankups:

Tier 1: Can grade any mission and rank people up as high as Tier 2, Aqua Executive.
Tier 2: Can grade any mission Level 4 or lower, and rank people up to Tier 4, Alpha Scout.
Tier 3: Can grade any mission Level 3 or lower, and rank people up to Tier 5, Aqua Peon.

Reaper, along with his newly obtained Snorunt, were relaxing out in the common room on the couch with Starly, who was sleeping on Corphish's head while he too was sleeping. "You guys are lazy." He said as he then watched his Poochyena prance his way into the kitchen for a meal. Reaper sighed and began to think about expanding his team a little. Along with that, he remembered the event with all the ice and broken heating systems. "A Fire Type would do nicely, but where can I get one?" He asked himself before he turned on the television and got an idea. On the television, a commercial was on about getting Starter Pokemon from Professor Birch when starting out your journey. It went on to show the three Pokemon you could choose from which were Mudkip, Treeko, and Torchic. "A Torchic! That would be a great addition to my team!" He shouted, accidentally waking up Corphish and Starly, slightly angering them. "Sorry guys. Didn't mean to wake you two up." He said to the the two who sighed and sat on the couch watching the commercial. "Then again, I already have four Pokemon. No way he'd wanna give me a Torchic. Plus I'm a member of Team Aqua. He might call the police the minute he sees me. "He thought and came up with an idea. "I can act like a new trainer and get one from him like that. Or steal it if he still refuses. Yeah, that should work." He said and looked at all his Pokemon, except Poochyena who was having a feast in the kitchen. "Alright Corphish, you and Poochyena stay here at the headquarters. Snorunt and Starly, you're with me. Let's go." He said as the two nodded before Reaper returned them to their Pokeballs. Corphish gave a look of disappointment towards him and walked away. "Sorry buddy. Next time I'll bring you with me." He said before he packed a few things in his bag and then he ran out of the headquarters, out to the beach in Lilycove, sent out his Starly and hung on his leg as they flew to Oldale Town.

After about a ten minute flight, the two reached Oldale Town and landed next to the Pokemon center. "Starly, good job, let's go heal yourself up." He said and went inside the Pokemon Center, and luckily the Nurse Joy didn't recognize him. He handed her the Pokeball to Starly and soon after, she gave him back his Starly now fully healed and energized. He thanked her before he left before anyone recognized him. "Alright, Littleroot is that way." He said as he went through the route and soon after, reached Littleroot Town. He took very little time to find the laboratory, along with Professor Birch. He walked over somewhat quickly to Birch, seeing Torchic only a step away from his grasp. "Hello, Professor Birch. I'm a new Trainer just starting out my journey. I was wondering if I could have a Torchic as my partner." He asked him casually. Just as Birch was about to reply, Reaper's Snorunt emerged out of his Pokeball and started dancing around. "Well, it seems you already have a Pokemon. You will not be receiving a Pokemon from me, now leave before I call the police on you for trying to swindle a Pokemon from me, away from a real Trainer that needs one." Birch said angered by Reaper, though slightly amused by Snorunt's dancing. "Come on Snorunt. Let's go." He said and with Snorunt dancing, the two walked off. Well one walked off. Snorunt continued to dance while keeping up with Reaper. "Time to resort to plan B. Steal the Torchic." He said after he got back on Route 101. He went back to the Pokemon Center to pass the time til it was pitch black outside.

He got up and left the Pokemon Center and through Route 101 until he got to Littleroot Town once again. "Alright, let's do this." He said quietly and put his hood, covered himself with his cape to blend in with the night and quietly walked over to the lab and hopped in through the window through the back. After he got in, he could hear both Birch and his Assistant talking around the corner and quickly hid behind a few large machines in the back of the room. "Did you see that kid try and swindle a Torchic out of me earlier today? I sure hope he doesn't try and steal it or something, but he didn't look bad." Birch said to his Assistant in a tired tone. "Speaking of Thefts, last week a thug from that Team Magma came in and stole a Torchic themselves. What next? Team Aqua come in to steal a Treecko or Mudkip?" His Assistant told him, a little worried about the Starter Pokemon. "Oh the irony is in the air." He thought and chuckled lightly, not to be heard. "Well, I gotta get home. Gotta file the paperwork and get ready to greet the new upcoming Trainers." Birch said and shook his Assistant's hand and the two said their goodbyes and left. "Now's the time. Let's do it." He said and tip toed over to the three pokeballs and reached over to grab one, only to find the Pokemon coming out of the ball, revealing Treecko as well as Mudkip coming out of her own Pokeball. Treecko, angered that he thought Reaper was about to steal him, charged charged energy into a ball and shoot it at him while Mudkip attacked with Water Gun, which Reaper took both attacks head on to prevent anything from being destroyed. Reaper quickly rose back up, but in pain and sent out Starly and Snorunt to combat the angry Treecko and Mudkip.

~Battle Portion Start~

Treecko started off the battle by charging energy into a small condensed ball and fired an Energy Ball at Snorunt, slamming into him and causing moderate damage. "Alright Starly attack with Aerial Ace and Snorunt follow it up with Frost Breath!" Reaper said as Starly flew through Treecko at top speed, inflicting high damage to it, then Snorunt breathed an extremely cold breath at Treecko, inflicting critical damage, fainting the Wood Gecko Pokemon and returning it to the Pokeball. Mudkip attacked Snorunt with Water Pulse, summoning a ball of condensed water pressure and firing it, striking Snorunt, causing it to fall back and suffering moderate damage.

"Starly, attack Mudkip with Brave Bird and Snorunt, attack with Shadow Ball." Reaper commanded while Starly began to fly quickly in a small circle while slowly descending, until it was near the ground and was somewhat shrouded in flames as he struck Mudkip hard, dealing high damage and knocking it off it's feet and Starly took moderate recoil damage, and then before Mudkip could even get up, it was attacked again from the Shadow Ball Snorunt was charging during the Brave Bird, inflicting moderate damage and causing Mudkip to slide across the ground and hit the wall, leaving it barely conscious. Mudkip got back to it's feet slowly and attacked Snorunt with Super Power, focusing it's strength and slamming into Snorunt, dealing very high critical damage, fainting Snorunt. "Sorry little buddy, but you did great, rest up." He said as he returned Snorunt to his Pokeball to rest.

"Starly, Mudkip cant take much more, attack with Take Down." He said as Starly slammed into Mudkip with full power, knocking it unconscious and suffering slight recoil damage. With the battle over, Reaper returned Mudkip to her Pokeball and Starly as well then looked at the third Pokeball, containing his new team mate, Torchic. "I better heal my team first." He thought and noticed a healing machine for Pokemon by the computer in the corner and went over to heal his Pokemon from the battle. After they were fully healed, he walked over to grab the Torchic, only for it to come out on it's own and challenge him. Reaper sent out his Starly once again for battle.

"Let's start this off with Wing Attack Starly!" He said as Starly flew over to Torchic and slapped him repeatedly, inflicting moderate damage and knocking it onto it's butt. Torchic rose back up and attacked with Fire Blast, exerting fire from it's little body to form a weird five point shape attack and slamming into Starly, inflicting high damage. "Not bad. Starly, use Endeavor!" He said as Starly flew over and slapped Torchic with it's wings until the point where they both looked like they were hit by the same attack with the same effects. Torchic countered with another Fire Blast, shooting a five point flaming attack at Starly, which narrowly missed thankfully. Reaper quickly reached for a Pokeball and threw it at the Torchic, absorbing the little chick into it and began the wobbling. After an entire minute, the ball finally stopped wobbling and made a noise, signaling the capture completion. "Yes, I got ourselves a new teammate. Thank you Starly, you were wonderful! Rest up little guy." He said and returned his Starly to rest.

~Battle Portion End~

Suddenly the alarms went off, causing him to panic and rush out through the front door as quickly as possible and into the wooded area before the police could spot him. "This is gonna be a long trip." He said, since he was unable to fly out and he had to be careful on his way to Lilycove Beach where HQ was. He sighed and hopped on his Aqua Bike, remaining hidden and began his way back to headquarters, where the rest of his Pokemon await his return.

PASS

I'll pass this mission, but only slightly. Being an older member, I think the mission quality should've been better.
I think the ending could've been much longer, especially after you tripped the alarm.

When it comes to the battle, I think the first two battles were fine. When it got to Torchic, Starly was waaay too OP. Between Brave Bird's recoil and Take Down's recoil, Starly would have between 5/8 and 1/2 health remaining, then with a Fire Blast from a fire type, the damage would've knocked it out. Fire Blast is a 110 Power move, boosted 1.5x by STAB bonuses. Starly would've been done.

Ultimately, however, the story in itself was pretty good. A little short and seemed rushed, but passable. My suggestion: read over your missions two or three times before you post them. Make sure they sound good to you before you release them to others.

Nonetheless, enjoy the Torchic and 300 PD, and keep up the good work!

Cody popped out of bed and stretched. Having a secret base where the majority of it is either underground or surrounded by metal didn't leave a whole lot of room for windows. He had learned, over the past couple months, how to navigate his pitch black room, though he still hadn't gone to get a clock. No matter what time of day, it always felt like the middle of the night when the lights were off in there. He threw on some clean clothes, woke up his pokemon, and threw on some socks and shoes to aid in walking around his icy floor. The problem with an all metal building is that in the winter, the floors were ice cold, and there really wasn’t much anyone could do about it. The boy grabbed his pokeballs and attached them, one by one, to his belt, naming his pokemon out loud as he attached each of their balls to his belt. He had to do it, or he’d lose track of which was which. One of these days, he’d get around to marking them, but today definitely was not feeling like that day. Before he left the room, Cody reached across his bed to the end table and felt around for his TADS device. Grabbing the phone, he pulled the charger cable from its butt and flicked the screen on. He scrolled through his email, folder by folder, to check for new messages. Organization and cleanliness were his two major vices. Everything had to have a place, even his emails. To his surprise, there was a message in his “active jobs” folder. This was the folder he created for when Archie sent him tasks that needed to be done specifically by him. He renamed each message as the task name and deadline to help himself keep track.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION- Flame on!

Go catch a fire pokemon!

Pokemon:
Any non evolved, non legendary fire pokemon

Funds upon Completion: 600
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cody read through the message, noting the lack of detail. “Go anywhere at anytime and catch any fire pokemon?” the boy questioned to himself. “Way to leave it up to me, I suppose.”
He shook his head and plopped back down on the bed in the pitch black, not caring to turn on the light. He leaned himself up against the wall and pondered what pokemon would interest Archie the most. “Ya know,” he thought, pulling a pokeball from his belt. “I’ve never been to the Unova region before. I wonder what kinds of strong pokemon I can find there.”
The boy flipped open his TADS device and quickly searched ‘fire types of the Unova region’ in his web browser app. After several minutes of quick research, he knew exactly what to do. He slipped out of bed once more and made his way to the door, being sure to lock up behind him. He played with the pokeball in his hand until he reached the common room, pressing the middle button on the ball that separated the red top half from the bottom white half. Pressing the button forced the capsule to expand in his hand, and he tossed it into the air, calling upon the newest member of his team. “Rotom, let’s go!”
The orange ghost popped from his ball, spinning several times as he rose to the ceiling and took off around the room before possessing everything he could for seconds at a time. Cody knew from that very minute that Rotom was going to be a challenge to train, but with enough discipline, the pokemon would come to be a powerful and extremely useful addition to his team. “Rotom,” the boy called to his pokemon, forcing him to stop in midair and stare blankly in the direction of his trainer’s voice. “I need to get to Castelia City. Can you help?”
The small ghost zipped around the room once more, seeming to take the long was back to his trainer, and stopped abruptly in front of him, floating at attention. The small pokemon did a little dance in midair and slowly backed up, almost as if he was trying to entice Cody to follow him. He did as the pokemon wanted, taking step after step to follow his dancing friend until they were directly in front of the TV. The boy closed his eyes for mere milliseconds longer than a standard blink, and when he reopened them, Rotom was gone. Suddenly, the television glowed with a dark purple aura, the screen flicked on to a white noise background, and a swirling portal emerged from the glass, quickly sucking Cody inside. The boy fell endlessly through the portal, seeing nothing but black and white as he descended, until he was finally forced out of the fall and spat out onto a cold, marble floor in a completely different room. Cody looked up as he recovered from his fall. “Where did I fall from?” he questioned, looking around the dark room. The only light came from the streetlights outside, which barely provided enough illumination to make out silhouettes of objects, let alone enough to navigate a mysterious room. Just then, the television glowed with the same purple aura as before, and Rotom spat out, zipping around the room in the same manner as he had in the common room.

“Rotom, where are we?” the boy asked his pokemon as he pulled his TADS from his pocket. Opening his weather app, he looked for their current location at the top of his screen. “Castelia City, Unova,” he read aloud.
“Rotom! You did it!” the boy exclaimed, praising his pokemon. “Now, let’s go find us a fire type!”

Cody opened the nearest window, peering out to scout their escape plan. He returned Rotom to his pokeball, and climbed out onto an awning directly below the window. In a matter of seconds, the boy was sliding slowly off the awning and had jumped to the ground, rolling out of his landing to avoid hurting himself. He looked up to the sky, seeing nothing but skyscrapers and other tall buildings. “Wow,” he mustered up, in complete awe of his surroundings. Being from Hoenn, he had never seen such a developed city. Not even Lilycove, one of the biggest cities in the region, was developed this way. Monorails zipped above his head, dropping late night commuters off at their local destinations. Traffic flooded the streets at his level, even at this time of night. People bustled through the sidewalks, even more crowded than Lilycove during the Christmas season. The boy thought back to his home in Fortree and gained a new appreciation for his small town, treetop life. Snapping back into reality, he opened his TADS once more, searching ‘fire types near Castelia City’ in his web browser. A list of routes popped up that surrounded the city with lists of pokemon found in each route. The fire types that related to his search were outlined in a bold text.
“Route 4 has Darumaka,” the trainer said to himself, opening another tab and researching the pokemon.
“Darumaka is a fire type,” he started. “Evolves into Darmanitan, which is strictly fire unless in Zen Mode.” Cody took a breath and looked up from his device, not wanting to get lost in research about this new pokemon. The term ‘Zen Mode’ really interested him, and that was enough to motivate his decision. Pulling up his map app, he typed in ‘Route 4’ and got directions from his current location. “Directly north,” he said to himself, and headed in that direction through the bustling city.

The outskirts of Castelia City were much different than what Cody had found and expected when he first stepped foot in the busy metropolis. There was a desert just outside the city, and Castelia’s suburbs showed its effects. Smaller, one-story homes were browned by the sand that had stuck to the siding over time. Trees were bare and nearly lifeless due to the dry conditions of the desert, and the roads were barely visible. Out in the distance, construction sites littered each side of the road, a new one seeming to start where the one before it ended – or at least that’s how it seemed from this angle. Trainers could be found walking up and down the road, each wrapped in scarves and facial coverings to protect themselves from the sand when the wind whipped up. He walked up to one of the passing trainers and waved. Not receiving much back, he decided to speak up. “Excuse me,” he started, hesitantly. “Do you know where I could find a Darumaka?”
”You’re not from around here, are you?” the trainer asked, shaking his head.
“Alas, I’m not,” Cody replied, forcing an awkward smile. This guy gave off a really weird aura, and it was making the boy uncomfortable. “If you don’t know, that’s fine,” he finished walked off, looking back as if he expected the mysterious trainer to follow him.

Cody decided to stray from the road a bit to make the most of this search effort. As he looked around, the wind started to pick up. “Uh, oh,” the boy said aloud, turning around to make his way back to the road. The wind was too quick, though. With sand whipping everywhere, visibility was limited and he couldn’t make his way back to the street. Off in the distance, he noticed a tall structure. “Probably one of those construction sites,” he continued to say, pulling his coat up around his head, and making his way to the building. Once inside, he pulled his coat down, and looked around. He noticed, in a far corner of the site, a small group of trainers and their pokemon huddled around a makeshift fire pit. “Hey,” he called to them, raising a hand to wave, but they didn’t move. One looked up from the flames, nodded to the boy, and looked back down, minding his own business. Cody walked over to the group and introduced himself, shaking each of their hands. He came to find out that a pack of wild pokemon seeking shelter had run them out of their tiny home in the desert and destroyed it the last time a sandstorm like this whipped up.
”Pokemon get hostile around here when the wind picks up,” one girl said, shaking her head at the thought. “It gets really dangerous.”
“Why don’t you leave?” Cody asked in response, looking down at the flames to avoid eye contact as they spoke about such a depressing topic.
”And go where?” the girl half-chuckled. “We don’t have enough money to live in the city, and we don’t have the resources to move our stuff anywhere else.”
“I don’t know,” the boy replied, closing his eyes. “I wish I could help.”
The girl looked up from the fire, noticing Cody’s body language. “Yeah, me too,” she said, nudging him. “Join the club.” She giggled and wrapped an arm around him.

The girl was so open and easy to talk to. It was almost as if they had known each other their whole lives. Just then, a small group of red pokemon barreled into the construction site, looking for shelter. The three smaller ones closely resembled the Darumaka that Cody had researched earlier, but the leader was much bigger. The tall pokemon was outfitted with the same designs as the Darumaka, just much taller and more powerful looking. The tall pokemon roared and the group charged at the trainers, quickly gaining speed and shooting fire attacks from their mouths. “Move!” Cody shouted, grabbing the girl tightly by her shoulders and throwing her to the ground with him. The others grabbed pokeballs and readied themselves in a defensive formation. Cody did the same, hopping up off the ground and grabbing a ball from his belt. The group threw pokeballs in the air, each exploding, one after the other, with a bright light, and materializing figures in front of them. Each trainer had pokemon Cody had never seen before. As Cody’s pokeball erupted in white light, the pokemon he was looking for did not appear before him. Instead, Feebas flopped around helplessly in its place. The trainers all looked to the boy in confusion, but had no time to waste. They each called attacks one by one.
“Zebstrika, Wild Charge!”
“Samurott, Aqua Tail!”
“Excadrill, Drill Run!”
“Cinccino, Return!”
Each pokemon launched at their opponents with great speed. Two pokemon took on the leader of the pack, and two of the three Darumaka were taken by the other two, leaving one Darumaka for Feebas to face.
“Celeste, let’s go! Water Pulse!” Cody shouted, obviously overcompensating for his lack of a strong pokemon. The fish flopped higher into the air, conjuring a condensed ring of water from the moisture in the atmosphere, and shot it at the fire type, scoring a direct hit. Darumaka fired back. The small pokemon engulfed itself in flames and threw its hands in the air, releasing a powerful Incinerate. Between Feebas’ type difference and Sp. Def. O-Power, the attack did next to no damage, and Feebas shook it off with ease.
“Scald, Celeste!” Cody commanded, feeling a new confidence in his pokemon. The water type summoned a boiling hot burst of water from its mouth and fired directly at Darumaka, again making direct contact. This battle was almost over. The small fire pokemon danced around before making eye contact with Feebas again. As the pokemons’ eyes met, the small, hyperactive fire type stopped dancing immediately and started to charge at the fish.
“Alright, get ready to dodge,” the boy said to his pokemon as Darumaka got closer. Just as the fire type got within several steps of Feebas, it spat flames onto its hand, balling it into a fist.
“Alright, Celeste! Dodge!” Cody shouted this to his pokemon, but he hesitated for just too long. Darumaka made contact, delivering a Critical blow to its opponent. Celeste held on, though, as Cody pulled a pokeball from his bag, throwing it at the little monster. The capsule opened, engulfing Darumaka in a red light, and retracting the light back into the ball before dropping to the ground to shake. The ball moved around on the floor, shaking once. Twice. Three times. Ding And with that, Darumaka was captured. Cody grabbed the pokeball and attached it to his belt, smiling to Celeste and praising her for a good battle.

The boy turned to his group just in time to see Cinccino and Zebstrika knocked out by the tall leader pokemon. The other two trainers were still taking care of their battles, and the two boys were in trouble. Cody picked another ball off his belt and tossed it between the large pokemon and the two helpless trainers. “Fraxure, let’s make an appearance!”
With that, what was once a baby green dragon appeared in a blast of light, and a much taller, stronger figure appeared before the large beast. The opposing pokemon roared, charging at Fraxure with a Hammer Arm.
“Move, buddy!” the dragon’s trainer called, but it didn’t work. As Fraxure jumped out of the way, the tall pokemon made contact with a left hook, sending Fraxure flying backwards. The dragon quickly regained his bearings, firing a large blast of dragoinc aura at its opponent. The attack hit for good damage and the pokemon roared once more, illuminating itself in a visible blue aura. Cody’s jaw dropped as the pokemon slowly started to shrink and lose its bright red color, as if it were changing into a different pokemon altogether. As the transformation finished, what was once a tall, overbearing, intimidating monster was now what appeared to be a stone statue of a tumbler doll. Its legs had retracted and it was now about half the size. Just as Fraxure approached the figure, it engulfed itself in flames and shot a huge blast of fire that consumed the dragon pokemon. The now smaller form of the leader cringed and shook, obviously receiving recoil damage from such a strong attack. Fraxure struggled under the heat, suffering several minor burns that seemed to hurt whenever he moved, but managed to make his way up to his opponent, slashing at it furiously with glowing claws. The figure rocked back and forth, taking moderate damage from the attack, and psychically summoned blue ghost-like arms that attached to its body and thrashed about in front of it, hitting Fraxure hard. In a final attempt to finish the pokemon, the dragon type burrowed underground, tunneling deep under its opponent. The tumbler pokemon didn’t move, but seemed to be trying to sense where Fraxure would appear. The dragon burst from the ground behind his opponent and hit it hard, rocking it back and forth once again until it finally fell over for good.

Cody rejoined the group of trainers as they finished their battle, showing them his new capture. “Lookin’ good,” one boy commented, patting him on the back.
“I just want to say, everyone, that watching you battle was really awesome,” Cody started. “I have to get back home now, but I want to extend an invite for any of you to come with me and join forces with Team Aqua.” The group looked puzzled, not knowing about the organization. “At Team Aqua, we’re more than just a team. We’re a family of well-trained individuals who work for the better good of the Hoenn region. Our goal is to raise the ocean so Water Pokemon have a suitable environment to grow and live happily. It’s what they deserve.” The boy reached in his backpack and pulled out a headband. “I’ve got one band, if anyone is interested.”
Nervously, the group looked to one another before one boy spoke up. “I want to join,” the guy said confidently. The boy was short like Cody, but a little older, and it showed in his face.
“Then its settled,” Cody said with a smile, placing the band in the boy’s hand and shaking it, forming a new partnership. The older boy hugged the group before departing with Cody through the desert. “Know anywhere with a television?” the Aquan asked, noticing the wind had died down considerably.
“A TV?” the older boy questioned with a puzzled look on his face. “There should be a small shop just up the street that always has a tv on.”
“I’ll explain when we get there,” Cody replied, squinting to see the shop in the distance. The group approached the shop and stepped inside, greeting the shop owner with a warm smile. Cody pulled Rotom’s ball from his belt and released the ghost, watching it zip around the room. The older boy was amazed. He had never seen such a pokemon. He pulled out his pokedex and recorded Rotom’s data. The ghost zipped into the television that sat on the counter and surrounded it in the same purple aura as before. As expected, the portal opened up and whisked the two boys away, spitting them back out in Aqua’s common room.
“This is your new home,” Cody said, looking to his awestruck partner. The older boy took a seat on one of the couches, shaking his head a few times. “I felt the same way,” the Aquan laughed, looking at the other kid’s reaction.
“Why don’t you just sit and chill for a bit while I write out this mission report, and I’ll show you around as soon as I’m done. Cool?” the boy asked, bringing a pen and paper from his bag.
“Yeah, cool,” the older kid nodded, leaning back against the couch’s arm.

Excellent story, detail and pacing. Honestly, not much to critique, if anything at all. Too bad the first stranger didn't play a role later on, I was kind of expecting him to play a role in the battle with the Darmanitan.

MISSION - Falling Far From the Tree

The Tree Shoppe in Fortree City hasn't paid its "Protection Fees" to Aqua in quite some time. Go to the Shop and enlighten the Shop Owner on why Team Aqua's "protection" is so important. The Shop Owner has two basic-stage pokemon.

Pokemon:
Oddish
Zigzagoon
Kecleon

Funds upon Completion: 500

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Allen had been walking for a while now, it couldn’t be too far to this place. With a sigh the trainer took a seat on a root that stuck far out of the ground and pulled up a map of the region on his TADS, then zoomed in on Fortree City. He taped the screen to show his current location on the map. “Wh-? But it says I’m right here. He looked around; no buildings, no shops, no people, no concrete… Nothing! He gave another heavy sigh and threw himself backwards off the root out of frustration, landing on the soft dirt and gasss. How was he supposed to be finding this ‘Tree Shoppe’ without the City it’s supposed to be in?

But wait, what was that? That shape hovering in the tree above him. A moment later and he would have missed it, he was too busy overthinking the map that if his eyes hadn’t moved to the right a bit, the structures wouldn’t have seemed to appear right above him. “Fortree… Is a city….built in the trees?” It took a while for even the sentence he’d just spoke to click. “It’s in the trees! Haha!” He laughed a bit too loud, this was something he could have easily researched. Some dark, mysterious bad guy he was supposed to be. “Now… how to get up there…” This time he looked it up on his TADS, “Stairs… Seems legit.” With that he was off again, looking for stairs, and he wasn’t to be left disappointed either. A long winding stairway built into a massive trunk. “This thing’s gotta be at least four meters in diameter…” His eyes followed the trunk up in sheer awe. He allowed it to sink in, “This region is absolutely amazing and yet totally impractical at the same time.” The words slipped out as he started up the stairs.

He took a long time to finally reach the top, ugh, he should have paced himself… his legs were now sore and he was out of breath.“Hey stranger!” Allen heard from his left, he turned to see a guy about his age waving at him from the next tree over just across a bridge, “You should have just used the elevator!” Allen tensed up.

“Th-… There’s an ELEVATOR??” The redhead cried out.The townie made his way across the bridge between the trees.

“Yeah, it was installed a few months ago for the elderly, not to mention my sister’s been abusing the thing since she’s been pregnant.” The man chuckled and looked over the Aquan, he was still obviously sore . “Tell you what, come to my shop once you’re on your feet again, I’ll treat you to a cup of tea and some lunch. How’s that sound?” Allen was kind of taken back by the man’s kindness, inviting a total stranger to his own shop.

“Thanks.” Allen nodded to the guy, “What’s the shop called?”

“It’s called The Tree Shoppe. You know, with the extra P and an E on the end like they do in some other region- What’s with your face?” Allen had deadpanned at the mention of the name of the shop, he’d have to attack this guy? He’d been nothing but nice to the Aquan.

“Er… Sorry, it’s probably something about being tired out.” He mumbled an excuse, which brought a laugh from the guy, “So… I feel a lot better, do you think you could show me the way?”

“Huh? Oh sure!” The guy enthusiastically waved for the redhead to follow. Allen stood, stretching his legs a bit and followed silently behind, the guy rambled on, completely unaware of Allen’s plan to attack him, something Allen was still working out. He looked around, there were so many different types of houses up here. Some stacked on top of others, smaller ones further up on thinner branches, the wider ones usually connected to two or even three different trees. All of them held excellent craftsmanship, no less expected from a population who grew in the trees. Then there were the Pokémon, they were all over the place, so many different species of Flying types and Bug types every here and there. Most of them were hiding out from the Flying types though. Allen bumped into the guy in front of him, “Whoaa, hang on, there’s a Kecleon in the way, here, we’ll have to backtrack a little.”

“Mm? Why?” He asked, curiously, “Are Kecleon a problem?” The guy nodded.

“They don’t move at all when you tell them to.” He huffed, and turned around, he began to say something else but Allen stopped him.

“I can move it.” He said confidently, he stepped around a few times, to make sure the walkway was sturdy enough to battle on, “Alright, Frogadier, you’re up.” He tossed the Pokeball into the air, revealing the slender Bubble Frog Pokémon.

“I knew you were a Pokémon Trainer!” The guy called excitedly, taking a few steps back. “If you aim for the zigzagged bands, Kecleon usually lose their focus enough to lose their camouflage.”

“Thanks for the tip.” He chuckled, “Frogadier, Quick Attack! Aim for those stripes!” The shiny Pokémon nodded, leaping forward at incredible speed, bouncing of the rails of the walk way and off a surrounding tree to strike the nearly invisible Pokémon, which bounced a few time, immediately losing the coloration that kept it from being seen. It hissed in retaliation and ran forward, leaping high and came down with a flurry of swipes across Frogadier’s upper half. It hit a few times, but luckily didn’t cause too much damage, “Water Pulse!” Frogadier shot a powerful blast of water at the Kecleon, it separated into a bunch of water blobs and heavily bombarded the foe with shots of water. Kecleon decided rather than try to hide again, it changed its colors to a nearly watery look to take less damage from the next Water attack. “Impressive…” Allen nodded as the Pokémon pooled energy into its front legs to shoot a powerful Psybeam attack at Frogadier. He bobbed around at first from the Psychic energy taking hold then shot back toward his trainer, nearly falling off the edge of the thick wooden planks. “Quickly, Frogadier! Dark Pulse!” The Water type recovered quickly and hopped around almost as fast as the eye could follow, stopping on the bottom of a branch just above the Kecleon, who’d lost its opponent somewhere behind itself. “Now!” Allen called, Frogadier gathers dark energy in its left arm, aimed, and fired straight down, by the timr Kecleon noticed where it’s opponent was, it was too late, the black, red and purple pulse engulfed the bridge where Kecleon had been standing, a few minutes later, when the smoke leftover from the attack had cleared, Allen could see the Kecleon’s zigzag scurrying away on another tree, though it was barely noticeable. “Great job Frogadier.” He pointed the Pokeball and returned his Pokémon, that O-Power boost really helped a ton.

“That was awesome!” Allen jumped slightly, he’d forgotten the guy was even there, he also didn’t realize how close the guy had gotten. Allen cleared his throat, and turned around.

“Thanks, we don’t normally get praised for our battles, so don’t mind if I’m not sure how to react.” The guy only laughed and stuck his hand out. Allen cautiously took it and shook a few times. But the guy didn’t seem to want to let go.

“My name’s Brandt! Nice to meet you trainer!”

“Allen. The feeling’s mutual.” Allen was, again, not sure how to react.

“Come on, our destination is just up ahead, and thanks to you, we don’t have to backtrack at all.” Brandt lead on. Allen followed silently, answering questions every now and again until the other asked, “So what brings you to Fortree?” Allen quickly looked at the guy and looked away.

“Uhh… Business.” He said, but it sounded more like a question. Brandt considered it for a minute.

“Normally trainers come here for the Gym Challenge, you’re not going to challenge the Gym?” Brandt looked him over.

“No. I….” He had to come up with an excuse, “I don’t think I’m ready for this Gym.” Brandt nodded understandingly and turned in toward a doorway.

“Though, the way you battled back there, I’m sure you would give Wynona a run for her money.” The other boasted confidently. He opened the door and held it open for Allen to walk through.

“Thanks…” He gave a half smile to Brandt’s kindness. The inside was totally different than Allen expected, which were a few tables with very lightweight wares, and a single desk for a small cash register. No, there were hundreds of hand carved statues, at least three glass tables, entire shelves of smaller statuettes and knickknacks lining the walls, the smell of wood dust filled the place. Allen couldn’t get enough of it, he took a huge gulp of the air and moved slowly around, taking it all in.

“Hey boss!” Brandt called into the back then turned to Allen, “Hang on a sec, I gotta go talk with my grandpa.” Allen nodded with small breathed ‘okay’ then did a double take.

“Whoa, wait, so you’re not the owner of this place?” He asked, both relieved and curious.

“No, no no no, you thought I owned the place? Haha, naw, I only work here, my grandpa owns the place, he’s a bit of a grouch, but he’s a good guy.” Brandt chuckled a bit and turned around, heading into the back of the shop. There were a few crotchety grumbles from the back and the guy returned to the front desk, “He’s out here. I’ll go get some tea made.” Then an older man rounded the corner into the front of the shop. He took one look at Allen and grunted.

“Figures.” The old guy spat, “Sent you for your, ah, payment, eh?” His front lip curled on the word payment, “Well you’re not getting any more money from me!” He shouted and drew his open hand across his chest as if to signal ‘no more’.

“Well… That’s just too bad.” Allen took a second to answer, “Looks like you’re going to be difficult about it, mm?” He pulled Seviper’s Pokeball from his belt.

“You’re just going to attack an old man?” Brandt’s grandpa looked confused for a moment, “I knew you were all good for nothing low life thugs.” Allen was visibly shaken by the comment. He’d never been called out on it before, but by the way this looked, it was the truth. He sighed, pressing his fingers to the bridge of his nose.

“Listen, I’m only following orders. I have nothing to do with your business or the deal you made with the deal you made with us to protect your business. Just pay up and-“

“No!” The old man cut him off with loudly, “Now you listen here young man, I am NOT paying your little gang any more of my hard earned money! You’ll have to take me down!” He pulled out a pokeball. Allen sighed, and gestured toward the other room.

“At least get Brandt out of the shop, if we’re really going to do this.” He thought he’d have as few casualties as possible. The old man stared him down intensely, obviously thinking it over and over again, the guy obviously had no Pokémon of his own and no experience in fending off Pokémon, especially trained ones.

“Brandt!!” He yelled, his voice echoing around the shop, A few seconds later the boy’s head appeared through the doorway accompanied by a short ‘yeah?’. “Get out of here and get some more tea to replace what you plan on making.”

“But grandpa, I already have it on and it doesn’t take long to finish. Not to mention the grocery is all the way on the other sid-“

“NOW!” The old man turned his head to look at him. Brandt nodded and disappeared for a moment only to come back out and head to the door.

“Now, don’t go anywhere, alright?” Brandt looked to Allen and pointed, “I don’t wanna have to hunt you down and force feed the tea to you.” He winked and left quickly.

After the sound of his jogging disappeared, Allen turned back to the old man, “Where were we?”

“Solrock! Teach this boy a lesson!” A pokeball revealed an old and worn Solrock, it was obviously very powerful, but it also looked slow. He pulled Frogadier’s Pokeball out again. He was a little weak, but it would be superb for this fight.

“Frogadier!” He called, letting his Pokémon out to fight again. The Pokémon huffed, but took a stance anyway. “Water Pulse!” Though the air inside the shop was stale and dry, as before, the Bubble Frog fired a blob of water from its mouth, but the shot twisted and condensed into the thin spray, hitting the foe for some super effective damage. Solrock spun clockwise, spraying the water everywhere.

“Solrock!” The old man called, “Sunny Day!” each of the stones sticking from Solrock’s main body glowed a bright yellow green color, the sunlight coming through the windows brightened and strengthened, the water leftover from the Water Pulse attack immediately evaporated into the air. Allen gritted his teeth; that cut a few options for him.

“Frogadier use your Dark Pulse attack!” That was still super effective, and could bring the pokemon to low health.

“Protect!” The Old man called. Frogadier had already gotten into place and fired the shot, before Allen could tell him to hold off. The Dark type attack hit the protective barrier and caused a backfire of smoke and energy particles to float into the shadows.

“Round!” Allen called, it would be a while till the smoke cleared, for them, meanwhile the Old man and his Solrock had a clear view of the two. But the sound based attack would echo around the room till it hit. The extremely loud croak bounced around the room, hitting the Solrock from multiple angles, of course, the Normal type attack did barely any damage.

“Get’em with Solarbeam!” The Old man called. Quickly, Solrock shifted to a spot directly in front of one of the high windows of the shop. “Solll.” It cried as It rapidly gathered energy thanks to the sunlight. The beam shot from Solrock’s center, there was no time to dodge, Frogadier was hit and immediately taken down. He bounced off the ground toward Allen, who promptly returned his fainted Pokémon, and pulled another Pokéball from his belt.

“You did well…” He glared at the old man, “I sincerely hope you don’t think this is over.” He whipped the next Pokeball out into the open. Banette appeared and swung from side to side.

“Solrock! Solarbeam again!” It was apparent he was going to abuse the sun with that attack, so Allen devised another tactic.

“Banette use you Sucker Punch!” Banette nodded, and thanks to the leftover Dark Type energy from the Dark Pulse earlier, the energy gathered quickly and Banette could find an opening and smash into the chunky Rock type. Easily scoring a critical hit and taking it out. The Old man crushed his teeth together and hissed a bunch of curses through them and glared daggers. “Banette, come back.” He pulled his Seviper’s Pokeball out, and tossed it, seeing that killer look made Allen rethink leaving Banette on the field. “Seviper, let’s go!” The pokemon slitered for a moment and hissed at the owner of the shop.

“Zangoose!” The old man called. Oh boy, that could be a problem, as soon as the Pokémon hit the field, the two hissed at eachother. Seviper writhed in place, wanting to kill the enemy Pokémon. As with the Zangoose, it gripped it’s claws into the flooring and it’s fur bristled. “Zangoo-“ Without a command from it’s trainer, Zangoose tore across the floor, slashing furiously at Seviper who had just enough time to either dodge or parry each blow with its tail.

“Seviper! Quickly use Poison Jab!” Allen called, trying to regain control over his Pokémon. It hissed again, but fllowed through with the attack, pulling free from a standoff. He pulled up tripping the Zangoose and jabbed into its back a few times with his glowing poisonous tail. Zangoose, after taking the abuse for a moment, pulled free of the tail and spun around, jumping up and using a powerful Crush Claw across the belly of Seviper. Seviper writhed around for a moment, becoming even more enraged by the damage. His eyes narrowed in on a vital spot on Zangoose’s back, he dodged around a few more swipes at him and found the opening to the foe’s back he was looking for and chomped down with a Crunch attack, biting and previously stabbed back of the Zangoose. This caused some heavy damage and probably a defense fall. Zangoose flailed about, trying to get at its attacker. Finally it managed to get a little bit of footing and roll onto it’s back, forcing seviper’s body to follow around, where Zangoose was able to use Close Combat Seviper’s belly. The attack was not very effective, but it landed critically, because of the previous injury on his belly. The both pulled apart, still growling and hissing at eachother, but weakly. “Glare!” Allen called, this quickly paralyzed the foe, since they were in such a stare down. Allen laughed and the Zangoose was too hurt to move thanks to the paralysis. “Now finish it with another Poison Jab!” He spoke coldly, and Seviper followed through with another slash across the chest of the Zangoose. The old man returned his fainted Pokémon. He stared at Allen in disbelief.

“Please…” He began to beg. Allen was close having Seviper attack the man, but decided against it.

“You either pay up directly to our leader, or get out of Fortree for good and find a place to stay for a long time.” He glared at the whimpering old man. “Because if we don’t get our money back, you’ll find yourself in a much worse predicament.” With that he turned to walk out.

A few minutes later Brandt walked into the shop, “Sorry I took so long! They were out of our usual and I couldn’t find anything good so I just-“ he stopped to finally see the wreckage and his grandpa sitting in a chair in the back. “Where’d Allen go?”

“Back to hell for all I care.”

[It's so dialogue heavy, I hope it's still a good story. Also, and just to note, the nearly wordless brawl between Zangoose and Seviper was supposed to show how their species are always in contempt of each other, I didn't know if I displayed that correctly.
As well, my Training Log wasn't graded when I finished this mission, so I took out the parts where I mentioned an O-Power boost to Frogadier's attacks and changed a few descriptions to fit the bill as well.]

Pass

Congratulations on passing this mission. Though the text was very dialogue heavy, it didn't take away from the story. I do think you could've added a little more story here and there, but it is what it is. All around good job.

What confused me was that at the end, you mentioned taking away Frogadier's O-Power due to the lack of grading your training regiment, however, the O-Power boost is still mentioned here:

Quote:
“Great job Frogadier.” He pointed the Pokeball and returned his Pokémon, that O-Power boost really helped a ton.

Just a little unnerving for obvious reasons, but I trust you didn't actually boost yourself.

Keep the 500 PD, and while you're at it, take this Amulet Coin.

Mission LV2-Mining Granite: Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to Granite Cave and get one of the rare stones
(Fire Stone, Water Stone, Leaf Stone, Thunderstone, Moon Stone, Sun Stone) that are in it.
But watch out for Steven. He often trains his pokemon in the cave, and won't hesitate to
challenge you to a battle. (If you run into him, he'll use 3 basic stage Ground, Rock, or
Steel-type Pokemon)
Current Pokémon
1/ Squirtle (Evo: 2)
2/Pidgey (Evo: 0)
3/Cubchoo (Evo: 0)
Item:3 Pokéballs, 2 Paralyzed Heals, 2 Antidotes
I stood in front of the mission board, wondering which mission should he choose between the two I had picked.
"Hmmm... I just can't decide..." I thought something for a while, then suddenly "I know what to do. Come out, you guys"
I let all of my Pokémon out. They were full of energy. I held up two pieces of paper with missions written on them.
"Guys, I need you to pick our next missions. One is going to a river or a beach to catch a Water-type, the other one is going to Granite Cave and find an evolution stone. I'll count to 3, and then each of you guys point at the mission you choose. I'll do the one that is chosen by more Pokémon. Sound good?"
They all nodded
"Then let's start...1...2...3!"
Zeni and Kuma pointed at the paper that had a picture of a cave, while Po pointed at the other one, which made him shocked. Of course he was, since the cave must have Rock-type Pokémon, which Po was weak against, while Zeni and Cubchoo might have advantage. Poor little guy, but rules are rules.
"Then it's settle. We'll go to the Granite Cave"
I returned them to their balls, then went to the gate that connected directly to the ocean. I borrowed a boat there, then set auto-pilot for it to drive to Granite Cave. What, you are expecting me to drive this thing? It has too many buttons with many different uses. Just studying how to use the auto-pilot is already too much for me.

After about half an hour, I finally arrived to Granite Cave. I hid my boat between the rock cliffs so people wouldn't see it, then entered the cave. It was really dark inside that I hardly saw anything. I had to find my way by feeling the rocky walls. Then suddenly,..
"Ouch" I tripped on something and fell down. I stood back up, then I heard a growl. I looked closely at what I had just tripped on, and saw that it was an Aron, and from the look of it, I didn't think it was in a good mood. It charged at me with its head, but I dodged to a side. It kept on charging until it crashed into a nearby rock. I was shocked too see the rock was shattered into pieces. Just imagine what would happen if that thing hit me. I would be killed, that's for sure.
"Look, I'm really sorry for tripping on you. It was just an accident" I said to the angry Pokémon. However, it didn't listen to me and charged at me with another Headbutt. Luckily, I could dodge it, and the Aron crushed another rock
"Ok, that's it. It's a matter of life and death now, so don't tell me that I didn't warn you. Go, Zeni"
The Squirtle emerged from the Pokémon and cried out his species's name.
"Zeni, use Water Gun"
He shot out a water pillar at the creature. But it jumped back, blending itself into the darkness. While both of us were still confusing and didn't know what to do, the Aron once again blasted itself at Zeni. Fortunately, Zeni could dodged it, but one more inch and Zeni would be badly injured. The Aron once again hid in the darkness, ready for an another attack.
Think, Yamato, think. What is the best thing to do in this situation? An idea then flashed through my head. I called out for Zeni
"Zeni, in the next attack, let it hit you"
The Squirtle looked at me as if I was crazy or something like that.
"Just trust me and endure the attack"
He sighed, thinking that he had no choice. He prepared himself for an another attack, and he didn't have to wait long, because the Aron charged at him with a Headbutt again. He let the Aron hit him and endured the pain.
"Now is your chance. Use Water Gun"
He opened his mouth and let out a powerful stream of water and it knocked the Aron into the wall. Maybe the Water Gun was powered-up by his Torrent ability. Not wasting a second, I threw out a Pokéball, thinking that it could be a great addition to my team.
After a few shake, the ball stopped and let out a "Ding" sound. I picked it up, then grabbed Zeni and held him in my arms
"I'm sorry, Zeni. You must hurt a lot, right? I wish I used my money for some Potions. Now all we have are Antidotes and Paralyzed Heals, which are not useful in this cave"
"Squirtle squirt". Although I didn't understand what he was saying, but I guessed it was "That's nothing", since he had that arrogant look on his face.

"Who's there?" a voice shouted out. Judging from the voice, I guessed that people was a man. He was pointing his flash light at us, so it took me a while to see his face clearly. And when I did, I was really surprised.
"Please wait for a minute" I said to him, then turned my back at him
"OMG! Zeni, I can't believe what I am seeing. He is Steven Stones, the former Champion of Hoenn" I whispered to Zeni in excitement. But it seemed Zeni wasn't interested in it, or understand what I was saying " He is also one of my biggest heroes of all time. Oh, what should I do? What should I do?... I know. An autograph would be nice"
I turned around and said "Mr. Steven, can I have...". When I was still turning around and in mid-sentence, something crashed down next to me, and the impact was stronger than the one Aron made from before. That thing bounced back to Steven, and I could see it from there. It was a Beldum.
"Wh...What are you doing, Mr. Steven?" I was frightening
"What am I doing?" he chuckled "The question here is: What are you doing?"
"I... I just want to have your autograph, that's all. You don't have to attack me like that"
"And why did you think that I would give a member of Team Aqua my autograph?"
"Eh?" I then realized something that I almost forgot "EH?" I was wearing a Team Aqua's outfit at that time, and I was indeed a member of Team Aqua. It made sense that he attacked me back there.
"Beldum, use Take Down again"
Again, the Beldum flew toward me again, and I had no choice but dodge it.
"Wait, I can explain" I said while dodging
"And that would be...?"
Think, Yamato, think. How can you get yourself out of this situation? How about saying that this is a Halloween costume? Tch, yeah. As if he would believe that. Halloween is a far away from this time.
"It seems you can't answer. So you must be an Aqua after all. Beldum, finish him"
"I have no other choice. Zeni, use Water Gun"
Zeni got out of my arms and blasted out a water pillar at the Beldum. The Beldum fell down on the ground, struggled to get up
"Zeni, wrap thing up with an Aqua Tail"
From the tip of his tail, a spiral of water was formed. He spinned around on the air, then smashed the tail on the Beldum, making it fainted.
"You're quite strong for an Aqua, but let's see how you handle this one" he returned his Beldum and sent out an Onix. This Onix was really big, bigger than any other Onix he had seen. Luckily, the interior of the cave was big enough to fit it in.
I noticed that Zeni was panting hard. He had used up all of his energy in the last battle. I decided to switch him.
"Return, Zeni. You have done your best. Now,it's your turn, Kuma"
The Cubchoo appeared from the Pokéball. He was scared when he looked at his giant opponent.
"Don't worry about the size. Just do what you do best" I winked at him, and he understood right away
"Onix, use Rock Throw"
The Onix opened its mouth and shot out several rocks at the small bear. He ran toward the Onix and dodged all of the rocks thrown at him. He then jumped on the rock snake's body, opened his eyes widely and looked at his opponent. The Onix felt akward when he saw the cute eyes of the Cubchoo. Steven called out for his Onix:
"Snap out of it and get that Cubchoo off your body"
Onix shook its body, threw the small bear into the air. Its tail then swung at Kuma, slamming him to the cave's wall.
When the Cubchoo turned around, his eyes were full of tears. His cry echoed throughout the cave, frightening some Zubat that they flew out from the cave. Onix started feeling guilty about hurting a child, but I quickly saw his trick, although I still didn't understand how a Cubchoo could learn Fake Tears. Maybe that was just a skill that anyone can do.
"Kuma, use Icy Wind" I commanded him
The Cubchoo grinned evily and stood up. He blew out a cold wind at the rock snake. The Onix roared in pain as the attack was effective against it.
"Follow up with an Ice Punch, Kuma"
Kuma's fist glowed a light blue color, and then he charged at his opponent with an Ice Punch on his hand. The impact created smoke in the air, and when the smoke was clear, Onix was lying there with swirling eyes. Steven returned his Pokémon back into the ball.
"Ok, I admit I lost this one. But I'm not giving up. Here come my next Pokémon"
He sent out a Drillbur, which I haven't actually seen it before. Pokémon World sure still have many mysteries that I want to find out. But now, I had to focus more in the battle.
"Ok, Cubchoo. Show him your cuteness"
Cubchoo was about to opened his eyes widely, but Steven quickly commanded his Pokémon
"You can't do a same trick twice. Drillbur, use Sand-attack"
Both of the Drillbur's claw dug into the ground, then he shot the sand in his hand at the Cubchoo's eyes. While the bear was rubbing his eyes to make the sand come off, Steven took this chance to finish it.
"Drillbur, use Drill Run"
The mole's claws put on its head, then it formed into a drill and charged at the Cubchoo. Because of being attack surprisingly and unclearly vision, Cubchoo couldn't dodge the attack and fainted.
"Return, Kuma. You deserve a rest. Now, do your best, Po"
The Pidgey emerged from his Pokéball, looked at his opponent.
"Let's start off with a Gust, Po"
He flapped his wings, which made the wind blew inside this cave. Right before the wind could reach Drillbur, Steven ordered him to dig into the ground. After a while since the mole dug into the ground, it reappeared behind Po and its hand turned into metal. The Metal Claw hit him, sending him to the ground. While Po was struggling to get up, Steven commanded his Pokémon, who was still in mid-air
"Drillbur, use Drill Run"
The mole once again formed his hand into a drill and charged at the small bird with amazing speed. However, right before it could hit Po, he had regained enough energy to fly away, dodging the attack. Unfortunately for Drillbur, the ground where he hit was hard. Therefore, it was stuck while it was still in its "drill mode"
"Po, take this chance and use Ariel Ace to finish it"
The tip of Po's beak glowed, then he slashed through the air and hit the Drillbur, who had just managed to get out but couldn't see the attack was coming. The Drillbur crashed into the ground, fainted.
"Good job, Po" I called out for him. He answered back by raising a wing and a chirp. But suddenly, a silver beam blasted at him and an explosion occured. Po fell down to the ground and became unconcious.
"I thought you were a grunt, so I was going easy on you" Steven said, standing next to him was an Aggron "But now, I'm serious. So prepare to be defeated"

What should I do? I still have Zeni, but he is too weak to battle. And who knows what else he has? I'll lose if I continue, so the best way is... RUN.
I returned Po into his Pokéball, then turned back and ran to the direction of the entrance. But Steven chased after me and his Aggron kept blasting out Flash Cannon at me. Luckily, the attack didn't hit me. It wouldn't be nice if it did.
"Don't think you can escape from me"
"Mr. Steven. How can you just let your Aggron using attack on me? I could be death"
"As if I would care about you Aqua. Aggron, use Rock Slide"
The Aggron roared loudly, making the cave rumbled. From the cave's ceiling, rocks started fell down in front of me. I knew that if I didn't get to the other side quick, the rocks would block the way and I would be caught. So I risked myself and jumped to the other side, right before all the rocks fell down. After the smoke was clear, Steven couldn't see me any more.
"He got away. Next time, it won't be like this. Let's go, Aggron. We'll clear the way later".The two went back into the cave.

Meanwhile, I managed to stand up after the crash to the ground. I thought some of my bones were broken. But still, I couldn't believe that I was almost killed by one of my heroes. It must be the price for being an Aqua. At that time, I saw something shiny on the ground. It was not hard to notice it in this darkness.I came closer and saw that it was a Water Stone.
"It must be dropped from the ceiling from before. That means I have completed this mission. Sweet"
I got out of the cave and returned to the boat. I set the auto-pilot mode and went back to the HQ. It had been a long day for me, so I thought that I should rest first before writing the summary of this job.

(If you run into him, he'll use 3 basic stage Ground, Rock, or Steel-type Pokemon)

First, before I give you a grade, I want to say that for it being your first mission, it was well done. I would, however, recommend that you do a couple Level one missions to make sure you are truly ready for a Level two mission. The plot was good, but the mission lacked movement and story. It was very focused on the dialogue, and each part that didn't have people talking felt rushed. I also feel as though you didn't give your opponent the chance to attack very much. Dodging attacks is ok, but your opponent has to be able to attack you as many times as you attack them.

I'm going to fail the mission this time, but you are welcome to edit and repost it when it has more story and the battles are a little more fair. I would also recommend trying the Level one missions to get yourself used to doing things like this.

Congratulations on passing this mission. your edits and additions turned this mission into something much more than it was. I would still work on giving the other pokemon a bit more of a chance, like in the case of Beldum, but all in all, it was good. I especially liked the battle with Drillbur.

Anyways, keep the Aron and enjoy 600 PD and the Water Stone.

MISSION - GTHO

A bunch of punks have been screwing around on Aqua turf for a while. Too long, if you ask me. It’s your job to run them off. There are three of them that have been seen with one or two Basic Stage Pokemon each.

Pokemon:
Wailmer
Carvanha
Wingull

Funds upon Completion: 300
Current Pokemon Team: Sneasel (Robin) [1]; Zubat (Song) [3]; Feebas (Selkie) [3]; Spoink (Lulu) [1]
Items: NeverMeltIce (held item; Sneasel)
----------

If one wanted to make friends, it would have probably been best to hang out in the common room. For his part, Thorn was perfectly fine with the companions he had. Despite the relatively nice weather, he was content to stay inside. Song, his Zubat, curled up on the crook of his neck as he read “The Weepinbell Jar”. There wasn’t much going on right now, so he didn’t feel too bad about sequestering himself away for the moment. Well, isolation in general wasn’t a huge issue for him, all things considered… his meandering train of thought was forcefully rerailed by a loud beeping. A little blinking light flickered on the HUD on his TADS, alerting him to a new message. He reached over, scooping the handheld communicator up and checking his inbox.

(´~`) wat’s up?

Thorn gave a slight smile, resting back on his elbow. Only one other person talked with him so casually, and used such a bizarre amount of confusing smiley faces. At least, he assuming that thing Rosie sent him was smiling, despite its somewhat befuddled countenance. not much. reading. yourself?

The wait wasn’t long. _(┐「ε: )_ just chillin’. wanna should go do something, maybe. hang out?

He was about to reply with assent when another message popped up on his TADS screen. With the somewhat vague and ominous subject line of “GTHO”, he found himself mildly confused and apprehensive for a moment. Opening the message assuaged his concerns; it was a request that someone go deal with some thugs causing trouble in Lilycove City, a place generally considered to be under the control of Aqua. Only one group was allowed to harass and wreck mayhem in that place, and that group was Aqua! Everyone else was simply besmirching Aqua’s… bad name? Conquering name? He mused this, shifted from his sitting position, and typed out to Rosie, just got a mission request from the higher ups. they want me to go chase off some kids.

The reply was quick. hella cool! ミ..ミ go ahead and crush teh mudkipz!

He frowned slightly, somewhat uncomfortable. Years of over-caution left him wary of the prospect with being too far away from his friend. Something always happened, whether it was accidentally stealing a museum’s priceless artifacts, or overcharging the Power Plant… or running off to join a questionable crime group, which was mostly his fault. Still. it’s only a one-person mission, though, so we can’t go together. besides, what if something happens to you while i'm gone?

Less than a minute later, he would be faced with this. u quit worrying about me! ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ i r teh strongest! He sighed, still conflicted despite (or perhaps because of) her obvious flippancy, when a second response came. rly tho, u need 2 stop worrying about me. i need to do stuff on my own now, so i don’t rely on you so much. that’s y we left, rite? and U need start doing stuff on UR own. don't make me come drag u out. (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ i promise, everything will be okay. I’m not a wilting flower, remember?

Well, that was a much as he was going to get seriously out of her. Forcing a bit of levity into his behavior, he sent back, all right, all right. ( ~ ˘~˘)~✿ as you wish, my lady.

(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ then go u dork!

Rolling his dark green eyes, Thorn rose from his reclined position. With the frenzied aid of a slightly over-helpful Zubat, he packed his necessaries for this kind of trip. Which, given that it seemed to be a simple strong-arming of punks out the metaphorical window of life, wasn't a lot. Hooking his bag over his shoulder (and recalling the fidgeting flutterer), Thorn took off, leaving the headquarters behind for his first solo mission.

It didn't take Thorn very long to arrive at the seashore town. Both peaceful and bustling with energy, the largest city in Hoenn particular burst to the brim with people. So it didn't take much for the slightly bedraggled and thoroughly unremarkable Aqua grunt to blend in with the crowds. Shuffling towards the fence underlooking the northern cliff of Lilycove, he checked the TADS screen again. Was he missing something? He didn't see any description of these "punks" he needed to deal with... which meant sleuthing. He sighed, brushing his dark red hair out of his face as he scanned the area. Thorn wasn't exactly the brightest person, but he could at least try reasoning through it. If he hadn't been given anything more than "folks are causing trouble, go deal with them", that meant whoever he was supposed to be handling had to be kicking up a storm. It'd make sense; create huge problems on Aqua's turf, and they'd be hard to miss, a nuisance for both Lilycove and Aqua. He tilted his head to the side, thinking it through. His best bet was the hit the most important and visible spots of Lilycove first; if these thugs were being enough of an annoyance to get noticed, those were their most likely haunts. He turned his front to the fence he'd been leaning against, mentally dividing Lilycove into sections. It'd make the most sense start off at the upper northern part of the city, and work his way back down. In an effort that was probably unnecessary, he hooked his shoe through the chain-link fence, vaulting himself over the melt and up the rockface to the highest point in town. Shortcuts! Shortcuts for everyone!

The first part of his search was primarily uneventful. The museum, which he'd expected to be a good lead, proved ultimately futile. His lurking and eavesdropping picked up nothing, other than the fact there there was going to be another exhibition coming in next week, seeing how unpopular this one had proven to be. Security was lax, but after his thirty minutes of skulking around barely looking at the artwork and lingering near larger groups of people, even the most brain-dead guard would notice his antics. So that was a bust. The Department Store didn't offer anything more to help; the place was packed with kids and family just doing their shopping, and no one really appreciated a gangly and somewhat uncomfortable-looking teen stalking about. He wished he'd brought his money along, but that but it wasn't like he need to purchase anything... although a Prism Scale for Selkie would be useful collateral later on. After that, it was observing resident houses for signs of suspicious activity... and once again, Thorn was the only thing suspicious around.

It wasn't until he stopped loitering around civilian abodes that he finally got somewhat on his mission. Hands stuff firmly in his jacket pockets, he hopped off a ledge adjacent to a building. Shouting voices could be heard emanating from the place, which a sign denoted as the Cove Lily Motel. The Aqua grunt paused, turning on his heel. He only had a moment to debate his next action before a door slammed open and someone furiously marched out. Thorn barely dodged the wooden object of assault, and found himself face to face with an older gentlemen, red-faced and soaking wet. "Why does everyone want to mess with my poor TV?!" the man shouted right at Thorn.

"Your... TV?" Thorn's normal method of dealing with angry people involved gently repeating their statements until they mistook his vocalizations for agreements and calmed down. It involved minimal emotional effort, and it was what most people wanted to hear.

The manager, clearly in the mood to spill his story to a seemingly-eager ear, continued ranting. "Yeah! That little idiot and his two fat lumps won't move from in front of the TV, no matter what I tell'em! Crowding the screen, they are, and it's worse when they bring in their friends! I got paying customers who want to watch the Tournaments, but nooooooooo, they ain't going nowhere! And when I threaten'em, they just spit on me and break my windows!"

That accounted for the soaked head... Three trouble-makers, all harassing a plainly over-worked hotel owner. Well, that was enough for Thorn.

"What I need is a proper trainer to--"

"I'm a trainer," Thorn spoke up quickly, not wanting to stand through another tirade. "Want I should take them off your hands for you?"

The manager did a double-take, as if properly noticing the person he'd been venting his spleen towards for the first time. "Yeah... yeah, you'll do. Get these idiots off my hands, and I promise, you can stay here for free whenever you want. Just don't touch my TV!" he shouted after Thorn, who had already started into the motel at the first "yeah".

As he entered the lobby, two things occurred to Thorn, one good, one bad. The good thing was that from the way the boy casually lounged on the floor against the table, feet pressed against the television screen, knife shoved point first onto the table, and reeking like a distillery, he had to be one of the punks from the message. The bad was that he was alone-- his two "friends" were a pair of oversized Wailmer, a pair of Pokemon that took up a good half of the foyer. All around the trio, customers varying from disgruntled to afraid hovered, wary of the situation.

Well, size wasn't everything. Without much to do, Thorn strode over, hooked his foot around the table, and yanked it away from the punk, causing the other boy to pinwheel comically before falling over. "I think you and I need to have an talk," Thorn deadpanned as he stared down.

The other boy glared up at his attacker, apparently annoyed by how completely blank Thorn seemed to be. "You... little... I was watching that! Go, Fatso, Astonish!" The leftmost Wailmer rolled from his position, lurching forward.

Deciding not to question the other male's naming convention, Thorn grabbed a Pokeball, and released his newest acquisition. "Robin, Feint Attack!"

The Sneasel tumbled out, landed in a squatting position, and rushed straight for his lumbering opponent. Size didn't seem to be much of a matter in this battle; the Sneasel's light-footed dodge and attacking punch struck good and hard, though it did bounce off the Wailmer's jiggling fat. To compare, while the Wailmer's undulating wail of an attack made contact, it hardly seemed to faze the Snease

"You... Rollout!" Growling, the Wailmer dug into the ground, ripping up rocks from somewhat (possibly hammerspace), and flung them at the Sneasel.

Clicking his tongue, Robin shook his finger, and leapt straight up, barely avoiding the rocks. (Fortunately for the motel owner, it rolled right on out the door and over a nice elderly couple instead of hurting his poor building.) Under Thorn's order, the Sneasel would dart left and dodge right, landing around solid Feint Attack on his opponent and knocking him right out. Grinning smugly, Robin gave the unconscious body a solid kick, before sticking his tongue out at the other trainer.

"Don't be a sore winner." Thorn said sternly.

Nearly in hysterics, the other male motioned to his second Wailmer. "Rollout!" he all but shrieked.

"Feint Attack!"

Once again, Robin's dashing attack landed, sending the Wailmer hobbling back a bit. Unfortunately, the way the Sneasel brought himself so close to his opponent meant that the Rollout hit at all... and it did quite a bit go damage to the Dark/Ice Pokemon, despite it's relative weakness. Robin stumbled back, spitting a bit of blood ("not on my carpet!")

It was clear: finish the battle fast, or risk knocking Robin out. "Just one more time!"

Practically vibrating with irritation, the Sneasel launched himself at this opponent, hardly bothering to duck-and-dodge. The swift Pokemon ended up outspeding the larger one, and the second Wailmer was finished... leaving their trainer defenseless.

Not halting a second, Thorn strode over to the other boy, hauling him up by the collar of his shirt. "Anything in here you don't mind me breaking?" he called back to the motel owner.

"The table's old, go ahead!"

"Wait, wait! I can explain" The younger male babbled, attempting to distract Thorn from his current table-bashing prospects. "I'll tell you anything, I'll leave town, just let me go!"

Thorn lowered him a bit, looking straight in his eyes. "You got any buddies 'round here doing stupid stuff like you? I'd like to have a word with them... tell me enough, and I'll let you out of Lilycove without anything broken."

Grateful for the out, the other male continued. "Dunno where Boss is, but Tara's over at the Contest Hall, she's angry they ain't letting her compete anymore, she'd know about the boss, just put me down, I'll go away--"

The youth sailed out the door, flying through the air much like a feather on the wind didn't. Thorn gave the motel owner a polite nod. "Sorry about the mess, sir."

"No sweat, kid." Now that his precious TV was safe, he could afford to smile. "I meant what I said-- come back any time! Just don't touch my--"

"-- TV, I got it." Once again, Thorn wouldn't let the motel owner finish. He ran out of the building, a bruised but no less bloodthirsty Sneasel at his heels. Fortunately, the Contest Hall was only across the street... and even better, it seemed his next target wasn't too far away. A tall, snarling blonde tossed a rock at the window, shouting unclearly. (It bounced off the solid glass, but the sentiment was obvious.)

"JUST BECAUSE MY JAWNIE AIN'T "CONVENTIONAL" PRETTY AND LIKES TA CHEW ON YOUR ARM DON'T MEAN YOU GOT TO BAN HER, YOU FU--"

"You seem upset."

The blonde's hair whipped around as sure turned to glare at Thorn. "DAMN RIGHT!" she snarled, hefting her Pokeball up. "Just because my baby girl bit a couple competitors... and some judges... and I broke some of those trophies... and that chick's nose..."

The red-head gave a grumble of frustration. "Yeah, I heard enough. Time to for you to stop."

She hissed, throwing the Pokeball to reveal a Carvanha, practically foaming at the mouth like his trainer. "Don't block my shine!"

"Fury Swipe!" The Sneasel, still high off his previous victories, viciously swung out at his fishy opponent. One... two... the strikes hit, but each one seemed to take a little energy away from Robin. The Carvanha seemed to even be pleased, chuckling despite the hits. The third swipe landed, and like that, the Sneasel shuddered and crashed to the ground. Knocked out... without the Carvanha even landing a hit.

The girl started laughing, a mildly psychotic sound. "You idiot! Don't you know anything?"

"Rough Skin." That had been thoughtless action... Rough Skin would take a bit of health each time contact move... and Fury Swipe hit each time. With Robin's low health, it didn't take much to knock him out. "Fair enough. Song!"

The Zubat appeared, fluttering slightly above the ground. His sightless gaze fixed down on the slightly battered Carvanha, locating it as the most likely enemy. Fangs bared, both creatures circled... well, as best they could.

With Song at full health, Carvanha posing a solid threat, calculating the speed... this was a worthwhile risk. Though he didn't generally like this move, it would do for now-- "Brave Bird!"

Song dove down, and smashed straight into the Carvanha, a full-body hit that sent them both crashing into the ground, digging a rut through the earth. Both bodies lay still for a moment. Finally, Song managed to shake his wings out, hovering in the air despite his obvious bruised body. He fluttered warily, waiting for the fish to rise back up. However, it seemed the super-effective move had done the trick; though it had nearly drained the Zubat, it left the Carvanha completely unconscious and Song the winner.

Seeing as the girl didn't seem to have another Pokemon, Thorn approach, cracking his knuckles. It didn't particularly matter if he fought a girl... if a person confronted him or got in his way, he'd deal with that. "Your boss?" he asked, watching as she picked up her fish.

Deciding to cut her losses, the girl blurted, "He's at the harbor, you jerk! Oh, my poor baby..."

Thorn rolled his eyes, grabbed her arm, and shoved her away from the hall. "Get out of here." He ignored her blubbering sobs as he stalked off, a new goal coming sharp into focus. Song bobbed unsteadily over his shoulder, squeaking in a nervous but enthusiastic manner. With surprising gentleness, Thorn reached up and allowed the Zubat to settle into his arms. "You did good," he said, slowing his quick gait to something a little less jarring. "Just get some rest until you and Robin feel better." Pokeballs of injured companions safely tucked away, he took off again for the southwest peninsula of Lilycove.

He wouldn't have to search long-- loud shouting could be heard emanating from the enclosed wharf. Thorn rushed through the archway (really, no door in a place like this), and found himself looking at what appeared to be a teen about his age attempting to commandeer a small fishing boat with the help of a Wailmer. (One that seemed to be less rotund than the others he had met that day.) A slightly hunched over elderly woman shook her walking stick from the sidelines, obviously distraught. "If this hip wasn't stopping me, I'd run right over to you and shove this cane right up your--"

"Ma'am!" Thorn came skidding to a halt at the railway, taking the whole scene in. "Need some help?"

"You bet your glasses, pretty boy!" Ignoring Thorn's thoroughly baffled stare, the woman continued. "This little hooligan just broke in and stole my grandkid's boat. I'm the only one on deck right now, and..." The older woman shone practically red with fury.

"Right, on it," Thorn responded tersely, having unintentionally inherited the trainer's tradition of running into situations and being forced to defuse them. He flung his Pokeball over the railing, letting it arch over the Wailmer and land right in front of him. The light exploded, revealing a bright-eyed Feebas. Selkie swirled happily in the waves, pleased to be in her favorite and preferred element... and more importantly, she blocked the way out.

"Seriously?" The male on the ship turned, incensed at the interference. "I was just tryna-- hell, nevermind. You in front, Rollout!"

"Scald!" Thorn called as he paced on the harbor, calculating the easiest way onto the boat.

The Wailmer dove down, scooping some rocks off the seafloor. Propelling his way back up with several quick tail pumps, he sent the rocks forward to smash into his opponent.

Selkie wasn't quick enough to the dodge-- her time on the surface had slowed her reflexes. Still, the hit was weak, and the fish spat a blast of super-heated water at the blubbery ball. Her attack wasn't much more impressive, simply wearing the creature's health down a bit. Still, even with her reservations, an attack was an attack, and her trainer had to have a plan.

Or something of one. With a bit of odd footing, Thorn managed to jump onto the stalled boat, barely grabbing the railing with his hands while his boots dug ruts into the siding. "Keep using Scald!" he ordered, attempting not to slip.

The Wailmer chuckled, jiggling like a scoopful of confusingly blue jello. Water on water? How foolish! He chucked another hunk of rock at the Feebas, laughing as it smacked her. This attack did stronger damage, gaining even more momentum.

Whimpering from the hit, but still refusing to back down, Selkie spat another jet of boiling hot water, hitting him full on. This time, the heat was too much; bright red streaks of damage hissed on the blue creature's thick hide. The Wailmer was burned!

Yelps of pain came from the pained Wailmer, which seemed to be smoking slightly. He shuddered as the burn melted away some of his health. He threw himself into the attack pattern-- but either because of the pain, or the occasional unreliability of the move, the attack missed.

"Now, Brine!"

Switching her attack from cold to hot, the Feebas sent one more attack at the Wailmer. Between the boosted attack born of agony and and the already-whittled whale's wealth, it knocked the Wailmer out, sending him slamming back into the boat and slumping down. Selkie, heavily weakened, still kept herself on the surface of the water.

Thorn's opponent, who had up until done his best to ignore the dark-red-haired male, turned to stare incredulously. "Let's keep going, you little...! Wingull!" He shifted the unconscious Pokemon with a fluttering while-and-blue bird holding a strange glint in his eyes.

The taller boy inclined his head, saying nothing, but performed a similar switcheroo: the uneasy Selkie with the bouncing and perpetually smiling Lulu. The Spoink sat on the deck, staring up at her enemy with unerring black eyes.

"Wing Attack!"

"Confuse Ray."

The Wingull dove, crashing right into the bubbly swine-let. His white wing smacked her backwards a bit, but she kept her actions solid and her expression fixed. A glittering purple-and-pink burst of light shot from the pearl on head. It landed right between the Wingull's eyes, causing them to roll awkwardly back.

"Wing Attack!"

"Power Gem!"

Despite his dazed moments, the Wingull managed to find his mark once again. Once again, Lulu would be knocked back. Her strange grin stayed fixed in place, though her bouncing was noticeably less enthused. Still, with a blaze of pink energy, she levitated the rocks in the surrounding area and smacked them right at the Wingull, nearly knocking him to the ground. Both Pokemon were obviously on their last legs!... er, wings!... er, springs?

The other boy gritted his teeth, just about to burst. "Finish it! Wing Attack!"

"Power Gem." Thorn seemed hardly fazed.

Cawing loudly, the Wingull dove once more... and crashed right into the deck, bouncing like a ball. Giggling in a strange, high-pitched manner, Lulu hopped over, leering over the downed bird. Holding her position, she held three rocks right over his head... savoring the moment? --SMACK SMACK SMACK--

And there it was! Thorn observed the other male, checking to see if the other youth was going to pull out another Pokeball. When it was clear he was empty, Thorn placed his arm on his shoulder. "Let's take this in, now, shall we?" he remarked in a somewhat relaxed manner.

The youth glanced, warily hopeful. Was this going to end peacefully...?

----

"I'm simply asking if you're affiliated with anyone. A gang, an organization, a zaibatsu?" Thorn's calm voice belied the fact that he was currently holding the dangling youth by his shirt collar over the side of the cliff. Oh, the water might not be a problem, but the drop onto the rocks might. "Perhaps a Magma?

"Throw him off!" The little old lady cheered, waving her cane like a baton.

"Afflili--? No! Look, me and my buddies were just having a little fun, y’see? Nothing big or important, right? We were just—just—look, it was just us me and Tara and Kenta!" The other male flailed, trying to catch the railing with one of his legs, but Thorn's grip was unyielding. "Please, put me down!" He blanched white, realizing his mistake. "I-I mean, let me g-- um, oh please, don't! I'll get the others, and we'll go, I promise."

Thorn held the boy for another moment, before deciding he probably wasn't working for Magma, or anyone else likely to cause trouble for Aqua (and by transitive property (or something), Rosie). Roughly, he pulled the boy back over the railing, tossing him on the ground. He pinned the punk down with his foot, right on the knee. "They're already gone. If you know what's good for you, you'll be gone too." Thorn pressed down again, grinding the cap under his heel. "And if you come back, just remember Aqua will find you." That said, he raised his foot, freeing his victim.

Without another word, the boy jumped to his feet and took off as fast as he could, limping slightly. Thorn watched, giving a sigh. He'd probably been a bit rougher than necessary, but...

"Aqua, eh?"

He started, suddenly remembering the older lady. "Um..." he muttered, tugging on his messy hair. Maybe he should have been a bit more quieter about who he was doing this for...

The woman shook her head, giving a slight grin. "You whippersnappers and your ultra-violence... get going before I have to teach you with my cane, eh?" Chuckling, the woman lumbered back to the harbor, muttering something about her lazy grandson.

Thorn stared, slightly blank, but decided to roll with it. With another sigh, he began his way out of Lilycove. He pulled out his TADS as he walked. Maybe he should message Rosie? Nah, that could wait until he got back to HQ.

((For the record: ShinyChibiSuicuneRiku gave me permission to utilize her character in this manner. Helped me write the dialogue and everything. Alt Mission Title: Thorn is a thug, and internally monologues like a super-villain or something. ALL THE WOOOOOOORDS..))

GRRRRRR ALEC YOU GOT TO IT BEFORE ME
HUEHUEHUEHUE

PASS
A million times over; Pass. Pass. Pass!
You had such a great story, awesomely detailed battles and pretty well thought out characters. Well, as well as one time characters get, I'd like to believe.

There was ONE detail that tripped me up though, when Zubat used Brave Bird, you wrote that the attack was super effective upon the Carvanha fainting.
In the Garden of Monsters
However, it seemed the super-effective move had done the trick;

Brave Bird it's crazy powerful, but in the end, a Flying type move; not super effective to Water or Dark.

Regardless, 300- no 700PD, you did so super well for Thorn's first mission that you got more than double the reward! (however if a higher up were to overturn that decision, I'm powerless to stop them, though I doubt anyone will care~)

It took me a while to write this. It may not be good, but I tried my best. Hope that I don't have to rewrite it this time.
Mission LV1-High tide (The moon is out, the tides are swelling, and the fish are jumping! Get down to the shore
and catch yourself a water pokemon!)
I picked the mission paper from the board and signed up for it. I had aimed this mission before, but then chose another one. And now, it became the perfect chance to make Aron be more friendly toward me. I called out my other 3 and said to them: " In today's mission, I wanted everyone to stay back at the HQ. Only I and Dora will go"
They were all shocked at what I said, then they held my legs, looking at me with puppy eyes.
"Please, don't try to convince me. I want to use this chance to befriend with Dora, so I will only use him anyway"
They all looked disappointed and had to listen to me anyway. And so, he left their Pokéballs inside my room and went to the place he had chosen for this mission. It was near the New Bark Town in Johto, where I used to visit when I was young. It was a memorable trip to me.
After a while sitting on the boat, I finally arrived to the peaceful town. I looked around the water edge at the end of New Bark, but had no luck finding anything.
-Sigh...If only I have a fishing rod with me. I should have thought about it before choosing this mission.
Then, I heard footsteps, and they were coming closer. I quickly jumped into a nearby bush because I didn't want to draw any attention. A boy was walking toward the water edge, and pulled out a Pokéball. He then threw it and let out a Totodile.
"Totodile, go. I don't need such a weekling like you in my team" the boy coldly said
The Totodile didn't believe what it just heard. It ran over and held his pants as he was walking away.
"What now? Go away. I never like you in the first place. In fact, the only reason I picked you at Prof. Elm's lab is because I need at least one Pokémon to become a Trainer. Now, I have my full team of strong Pokémon, I don't need you anymore."
Hearing those words made the Totodile nearly cried. But I was really angry when I heard he said such a thing. I jumped out from the bush and said:
"You there. How could you say something cruel like that to your Pokémon?"
"What I do to my Pokémon is not your business, you weirdo. And what is with that outfit? Going to a costume party? Wahaha..."
"That Pokémon is your first Pokémon, isn't it?" I ignored his comment about my clothes "It's your trusted friend, and you just let him go like that?"
"Oh, please. I hardly ever used him. And I never think that he is my friend, either"
I was really furious now. What kind of Trainer was him? Treating Pokémon like that, he was even worse than us Aqua. I totally lost my mind that I let Dora out.
"Battle with me. If you win, you can do anything you want to that Totodile. If I win, you have to say sorry to him and let him stay with you"
He looked at my Pokémon and laughed: "Wahaha. I thought someone talks big like you should have strong Pokémon, but it is only a weak Aron. If I send out my Pokémon now, surely you will lose" he looked at his Totodile, then an idea came to his mind "I have this idea. My Totodile will fight with your Aron. If he wins, he can stay"
"What did you say?" I suprised at his decision "That's totally opposite to what I said earlier"
"Why should I accept your deal? You heard me, Totodile" he said to his Pokémon "If you win this battle on your own and prove yourself useful to me, I'll keep you. If not, you're out of here"
The small crocodile was really happy to hear it. He jumped to the front and readied for battle. But I didn't want to fight Totodile. If I won, he would be releashed. I didn't want it to happen. What could I do?... Maybe if I lose on purpose...
But at that time, Dora's claws turned into metal and rushed over the Totodile . The attack hit the crocodile, but he endured it and used his hand to throw the Aron away. The Totodile then blasted out a Water Gun at Dora. Because he was in mid-air, the Aron couldn't dodge the attack and crashed on the ground. Dora struggled to stand on his four legs, looking angrily at the crocodile.
"Please, Dora. Listen to my command."
And again, he ignored it. This time, he charged at his opponent with a Headbutt. The Totodile was badly injured after the direct hit to his chest. He lied on the ground, panting hard.
"You're truly a useless Pokémon, being knocked out by a weak attack like that"
"Your Pokémon is not useless" I interrupted
"Pardon?"
"Your Totodile is a great Pokémon. Even when you treat him badly and want to abandon him, but look, he is fighting for you, he is still loyal to you. How could you not see it?"
"Who cares about those things? The most important thing of a Pokémon is its strenght"
"No, you're wrong. The most important thing is the bond of the Trainer and the Pokémon. As long as you have it, even a weak Pokémon can beat a strong one"
At that time, I realize that even if he kept Totodile, he would eventually released it again. I had decided what I had to do. I then shouted out to Totodile: "Totodile, stand up. I believe that you can continue"
The crocodile had heard everything I said, and when I called out for him, he tried his best to stand up.
"Totodile, let's fight our best from now, so no one regrets later, ok?"
He let out a growl and nodded. Even though he was injured, but he still had his spirit.
"A, Aron" Dora cried out, then looked at me. He was trying to say something to me.
"Dora, you... you will listen to my command?" I surprised
He gave me a nod. Maybe my feelings had reached him after I said those words.
"Dora, use Mud Slap"
The steel type scratched on the ground and threw the mud he had just gathered. But the Totodile jumped into the air, then aimed another Water Gun at Dora. Being hit by super effective move 2 times made Dora weaker and weaker. I should finish quick, or he would faint.
"Dora, use your best Headbutt"
The Aron fired himself at the Totodile, who was too weak to block the attack. Totodile was knocked down to the ground with swirling eyes.
"Finally, it is over" the other boy said "I knew from the beginning that he would lose. Now I can finally get rid of it"
The boy then walked away, leaving his former Pokémon behind. The Totodile got up, but he didn't chase after his Trainer, instead just sat there with his eyes full of tears. I came closer to him and said:
"I'm really sorry that your Trainer abandons you. But you know, you don't need him. If he can't see how great you are, then just forget him"
Totodile nodded, wiped out the tears running on his cheeks. He then jumped at me and hugged me
"Toto, totodile" he cried
"Totodile... You want to go with me?"
He cried happily, so I think that was a yes. Well, the mission DID say that I had to catch a Water type, and Totodile is Water type, so I guessed I could catch him.
"If you insist, then I'll catch you. Go, Pokéball"
I threw a Pokéball at him, and it let a "Ding" sound after a few shakes.
"I promise that I'll be a good Trainer that you deserve to have"
I then turned around to Dora, who was still sitting on the other side. I smiled at him
"So... I see that you have listened to me. Does that make us friends now" I offered him a handshake
He looked at other way, let out a sigh, then put one of his legs on my hand. Just that alone made me feel better already. Finally, I could befriend with Dora. I returned him to the Pokéball and headed off to my ship, drove back to the HQ.

Mission LV1-High tide (The moon is out, the tides are swelling, and the fish are jumping! Get down to the shore
and catch yourself a water pokemon!)

Pass

You did very well, reasonable dialogue and a pretty great battle. That boy was a jerk who didn't deserve that Totodile anyway.

Make sure to add 400PD to your funds and give that Totodile some love.

"Tomorrow's far away; let's place our hope in today~♪" Rosie sang as she put the finishing touches on her meal. No one else was in the Aqua Headquarters Kitchen, which was a shame. What was the point of cooking if she didn't have anyone to share it with? Even Thorn seemed to have disappeared off somewhere! She huffed, shaving the chocolate a bit more roughly than she needed to, earning a berating yelp from Lily, who was currently sitting on the counter eating an apple. Then again... a light blush covered Rosie's cheeks as she glanced around the place. Sugar, flour, chocolate, bits of seeds... all these and more were sprinkled around the kitchen. At least no one was around to see the mess she'd made! Of course, she would clean up after herself... but first, she was going to try what she'd made! The finishing touch of a Razz Berry placed gently on top, Rosie snatched up a fork and took a deep bite of her dessert pasta.

It was delicious! She gave a triumph cheer as she took slow, ladylike bites of the chocolate dough. So sweet and delicious! From her position on the counter, Lily stared at the pasta, apple completely forgotten. Carefully, the Emolga hop-fluttered forward, black eyes wide and pleaing. The flying mouse clung to the side of the counter as she begged cutely up at her trainer. >Chuuu~?< she squeaked, paws clasped in front of her. At this, Rosie gave an exaggerated sigh, and smiled down at her Pokemon. "Here you go!" she said, picking off one of the berries and giving it to the ecstatic Emolga.

The pair eat in silence broken by the occasional humming for either of them. It was surprisingly empty in the Headquarters/ Briefly, Rosie felt the icy grip of loneliness clutch her stomach. She reached for her TADS, but her hand fell before grabbing it. Ahh, she wanted to message Thorn and tell her to come see her! But she couldn't have him at her beck and call anymore! Since he wasn't technically her bodyguard now, he wasn't technically obligated to come when she asked. He still would, probably... but that was an even bigger problem! Thorn needed to stop being so obedient... and she needed to stop relying on him for things! A frown marred her features as she sulked, somewhat frustrated at herself. It had been her idea to join Aqua in the first place, after all, and she hadn't done nearly as much as she'd meant too! Sure, she'd ranked up... but she'd barely gone on any mission! And no solo missions! What was the point of running away if she just did all the regular things she normally did? Nervously, she bit her lip. Was she just proving her father right? He'd said all she'd ever be good for was being a good wife to some higher class man, what with just looking pretty, cleaning, smiling... and cooking. She glanced down at her pasta, having lost her appetite. Good mood gone, she placed the bowl down, and groaned. "Oh Lily," she said to her oldest Pokemon. "I just don't know what to do..."

Lily nuzzled her, having noticed the girl's despondent attitude. The Emolga offered up the berry, and when that took no effect, the apple, but still no avail. As a last ditch attempt, she leapt at her trainer, clutching at her strange thing that seemed to take her trainer's attention so often. Death to technology! Rosie yelped, giving effort to separate two things. But in the struggle, she noticed a brightly colored light beeping on top of the TADS. After getting Lily distangled from the object, she looked down at the screen. Fiddling with some buttons, she realized she'd been sent a mission. Well, it seemed to be a blanket email, requesting anyone to go to Rydel's Cycles and talk the owner. Apparently, since Aqua had experienced an influx of new members, they needed more bikes! Well, that made sense! A smile spread across her lips... maybe this was what she needed? To do a mission... she could prove her father wrong! Grinning, she picked up Lily, and gave her a swinging hug. "Just you and me in a beautiful spring~♪" she hummed. "Let's get this cleaned up and go!"

There wasn't too much to do in the kitchen, especially with Lilly's help. After that, it was a simple case of going back to her room. She stared at her closest, before pulling out a lovely purple dress with with frills. She got changed quickly, making sure to choose appropriate shoes and to do her make-up just right. She was going in a representing Aqua, after all, so she had to look her best! A braid and a ribbon threaded through her bright gold locks, and the look was complete! "So, how do I look?" she asked, giving a twirl as she showed off her outfit to Lily. The little Emolga squeaked with approval, rubbing her cheeks so that they gave off happy gold sparks. Rosie couldn't help giggling a bit, and clapped her hands. Her Pokemon lept over to her shoulder, resting happily on the crook of her neck. Scooping up her bag, she ran out of the HQ... and off to her future!

Her future in a tiny, tiny seaside town. Getting to Mauville had taken a while, but Rosie refused to give up! No, she was starting a new life, and a little walking wasn't going to deter her! And fortunately, it seemed her TADS had a built in map, so she at least wasn't going to get lost in a swamp, or in some backwaters town up in the trees. She brushed her hair back, the seabreeze nice and cool on her face. Mauville was nice enough, she supposed. She'd grown up in bustling metropolises like Lumiose, Castelia, and Goldenrod, so this place seemed kind of small to her. Still, that wasn't bad! She liked the warm grass, the partially-coddled roads, the paint peeling off the buildings... it looked like a place real people lived and behaved, instead of some shiny glass dollhouse to stand still and look pretty. Rosie shook herself off, throwing pain off. This was new day! A new way for her live! She stepped forward, brightening up. And nothing was going to get in her wa-

VROOOOOOM!

Rosie shrieked as a horde of bicycles rushed by, nearly running her over. She only barely avoided getting her heel caught in one of the wheels, Lily clinging to her for dear life. She couldn't help staring in confusion and mild annoyance. Stomping her foot, she glared at one of the bikers, the only one would had stopped. "Watch where you're going!" she snapped, golden eyes alight with frustration. The irritation faded slowly, as Rosie had never been the type to hold grudges, and melted into curiosity. "Where are you going?"

"Route 110!" the woman said, obviously unaware of Rosie's annoyance, or the fact that he'd nearly run her over. "We just got some mad cool bikes, and we're gonna ride'em on Cycling Roads." She raised her water bottle to her lips, drinking something that looked suspiciously not like water. "We're going to do some awesome tricks, wooohooooo!" Chugging the liquid, she grinnned wildly at Rosie. "Y'wanna come with us, kiddo? Never a bad time to learn some new tricks!"

"Umm... no thank you, ma'am," Rosie answered, defaulting to politeness out of worried concern, both over the state of the biker and what she might do. Still, there was something she could do with this! "Can I ask where you got those bikes? They lot to be, um, good quality."

The female biker's face split into a huge grin. "Sure! I got it from Rydel's Cycles!" She motioned down to her down tube, which bore the name's man in large letters... as did the crossbar... and the seat post... and the seat... in fact, every part of the bike was etched with the name "Rydel". Rosie couldn't help frowning, eyebrows wrinkling. Honestly, what kind of business man was so... gauche? But the biker seemed not to notice. "Guy's the best."

"What a coincidence!" Time to find the exit-route to this conversation! "I'm looking for Mr. Rydel right now. Any chance you could tell me where I could find him...?"

"Oh, it's not far!" the woman said, motioning behind her. "Keep walking, and you'll see it... lotsa bikes." The lady smiled again, and patted Rosie right on the short girl's shoulder. The tiny blonde cringed and pulled back, but the biker clearly didn't notice. "You have fun, kiddo!"
She pedaled away, laughing in a somewhat deranged manner.

Shivering, Rosie tried to get that horrible feeling of contact off her skin. She hated it when other people touched her... she was too used to being dragged around by her father, or one of her brothers. Just about the only person who she could stand touching her was Thorn, and that's because he'd never made her uncomfortable or upset! Ugh, some people were just so awful. After a couple minutes of collecting herself, the shaking slowly winding down (and aided by Lily's affectionate cuddling), Rosie found herself able to move. Somewhat subdued, she stepped onto the path, and forced herself to walk in the right direction. She wasn't going to let his mission be derailed for any reason- the creepy biker, the looming threat of her dad, or her own insecurities!

Her solid walk towards the bicycle shop did a bit to bolster up her courage, as did Lily's cuddles. Cuddles help everything! And anyway, at least the shop was easy to find! Bikes out front and everything! At least they'd come to the right place; it seemed like this man had enough bikes for everyone in Aqua, and then some! Probably some for Magma too... but Rydel wasn't going to be doing business with Magma! Not if she had anything to say about it! Giving a cheery grin, her resolve reformed, she marched right through the doors. "Hello!" she trilled happily, giving her brightest smile.

A man with long, slick-back hair, dressed in a suit (which Rosie's expert eye assessed as both cheap and ill-fitting), stood in behind a counter. He met Rosie's gaze with a smile of his own. "Why, hello there, little lady! My name's Rydel. What can I help you with today?" He leaned forward on his elbows, tilting his head. "Here for a bike, I bet. It's got a perfect, tiny little pink number, with sparkles and tassels... it'd look just precious with you!"

Lily hissed, noticing the way her trainer stiffened. Rosie wasn't really comfortable with the way he spoke to her. It was too... friendly? Casual? She wasn't sure what it was that put her hair on end, making her wish for some kind of safety, but there was something off about this guy. Still, she had a job to do as a member of Aqua, and no matter how much this guy put her off, she was going to do it! "Um, no." Taking a deep breath, she brushed her bangs out of her eyes. "I'm actually here at the behest of Team Aqua. We need you to supply us with a good number of Aqua Bike DXes. Um, pronto." She did her best to look serious and threatening, but really, she wasn't able to pull it off quite like Thorn could. Her mouth folded slightly, eyes as fierce as she could manage, she stomped forward to the counter.

Rydel chuckled, shaking his head. "Now, what's a nice girl like you doing running with thugs like Aqua? Trust me, little lady, you don't want anything to do with folks like that. Take it from a respectable businessman like me, you'd be much better off somewhere nice..." He leaned forward, smile still pasted on. "Maybe that nice trainer's school in Rustboro... that uniform would look charming on you, missy." He reached forward as if to take her hands in his.

Yes, this guy was a creep. If Thorn had been here... but he wasn't. So she'd just have to deal with him herself. She pulled back, shifting into a fighting stance. "I'm afraid I've got prior assignments. And if you aren't going to take me or my team, seriously..." she picked up her Pokeball, eyes narrowing. "... then I'm going to make you! We're going to fight, Mr. Rydel!"

The man laughed, reaching under the counter to grab at something. "If that's the way you want it, little lady, then I'll be glad to oblige. Electrike!" A small green-and-yellow dog appeared next to Rosie. He yelped at her, yellow sparks glinting off his body.

Rosie gasped in surprise, but she wasn't going to back down now! "Okay, Cinna! Let's go!" She released her newest Pokemon, a orange-and-white fluffy firedog. Cinna glared at the Electrike, sensing another threat. He was the only top dog allowed around here! Well, except that Vale... but he'd deal with him sooner or later! He barked loudly at the Electrike, which set the other canine Pokemon off. The frenzied yelping was almost unbearable, making the two trainers cover their ears.

Over the din, Rydel shouted, "Bite!"

Gritting her teeth, Rosie spoke up. "Retaliate!"

The two dogs shut up, disentangled, and rushed at each other, noise starting up again. The Electrike reached his opponent first, digging his teeth firmly into the Growlithe's thick hide. Cinna yelped in pain, and couldn't help falling hard to the floor. He lay there, cringing, but still obviously incensed.

Rydel gave another chuckle. "See what I mean, kiddo? You need to get back to basics. Electrike, Thunder Fang!"

Biting her lip, Rosie narrowed her bright gold eyes. Battles weren't decided in one move (well, usually), so he needed to stop putting the cart before the Ponyta! Time to step things up a notch! "Flare Blitz!"

The Electrike bobbed his head down, ready to bite down on his wounded opponent... and somehow managed to miss entirely. He basically tripped, hitting the stone floor jaw first with a loud "crack!". The Pokemon lay there, completely thrown... until he finally noticed the fact that the Growlithe beside him was almost literally covered in flames. Cinna gave a very rough, bark-like chuckle at the whimpering sparkdog... but showed no mercy. He slammed right into the Electrike, sending the pair of them flying into the counter with a resonating crash. Both Pokemon stumbled back to their feet, noticeably weakened.

"Gah!" Rydel started back. "Finish him up... Fire Fang!"

Thinking quick, Rosie ordered, "Morning Sun!"

The Electrike struggled to his feet, but manage enough control to lurch forward and sink his teeth down into Cinna side... but it was to no avail. In fact, the Growlithe didn't even react, and just stood there, giving what appeared to be a smirk. The Electrike and his trainer stood there, gaping.

Rosie giggled, striking a pose. "Flash Fire~" It wasn't the most common of abilities for a Growlithe, but it was serving him well so far!

Cinna began to glow brightly, health coming back in almost in full. His tail wagged, sweeping the floor.

Rydel was full on glaring now, all of his used-car-salesman charm melted away. "Thunder Fang."

Undaunted, Rosie refused to be cowed. "Outrage!"

This time, the Electrike landed the Thunder Fang attack perfectly, but thanks to Cinna upped health, it didn't knock him out. Instead, the Growlithe was left still standing, and in the perfect place for another assault. Dark, blood red flames shot up, in massive orbs surrounding Cinna. With a furious roar, the Growlithe rampaged violently forward, running the Electrike completely over. The brutal attack was all it took, and the Electrike hit the ground hard, fainting. His outrage ended unnaturally, Cinnna came to a halt, panting with exertion. He limped back over to Rosie, leaning against her legs.

The petite blonde grinned, triumphant, and resisted the urge to punch her fist in the air. She had won, yes, but there was no call to be unladylike. Instead, she gently patted Cinna's haunches, and turned to Rydel. The man was clearly thrown off by her vicious battling, smile having faded away. But she could relish her triumph later. "Now, about those bikes I asked for...?" she said sweetly.

Rydel managed to stop gaping at the girl who'd so thoroughly trounced him. Realizing he probably needed to do something, he reached under the counter, and pulled out some paperwork. "Er, if you'd like, I can get a shipment to you and yours..." He held out a pen for her to sign with.

She took the pen, but wasn't about to sign off on something with reading the fine print. Her father understood business, and even if he hadn't wanted her to follow in his footsteps, she had picked up on some thing. Rosie leaned over, analyzing the statement curiously. "This says you won't get the shipment out to us until two months from now... and I don't like the materials you're going to be using. This isn't the sort of thing you should be using those cost-cutting expenses on... and only that many?" she clicked her tongue, unimpressed. "No, no, this won't do." Her pen etched over the contract, making the appropriate edits. "This is what we're looking for... understand?" She offered the contract back to him.

Rydel looked over the contract. "This is... and you want me to give you how much of my current stock? No way, doll."

Well, that was what pushed her over the line. Only one person ever called her that, and she'd done everything to cut him out of her life. Rosie picked up one of her Pokeballs, and released Vale. The Poochyena growled at Cinna (who returned the noise), but there was more important things. Rosie stepped back, mouth set in a hard line. "I say yes. And more importantly, Aqua says yes. Vale, Bite. Cinna... light'em up." The dark dog picked up one of the handlebars lying around with his teeth, and snapped the metal right in half. The Growlithe burst into flames and dug his claws into the ground, causing one of the bike to warp from the heat. Rosie cocked her head to the side, giving a pleasant smile. "Now, are you reconsidering your position?" she asked sweetly.

Ten minutes later, Rosie left Rydel's. Behind her, Lily, Vale, and Cinna pulled at a wagon carrying a decently-sized shipment of Rydel's best bikes bikes. They were all she could carry at the moment, but she had under threat of paper (and threat of an actual threat) that Rydel would be sending more as soon as possible. She couldn't help skipping her way done the path; she'd done it! She wasn't just a doll, and she could whatever she wanted! And she could even make people do things they didn't want! Rosie couldn't help giggling happily. She turned on her heel, clapping at her Pokemon. "You guys are awesome!" she cheered. "Once we get back to the HQ, I promise I'll make you all ice cream!"
