Lying to the south of the Vale and City of Crows is the suspicious, misty harbor named Southport. This port is key for trading routes between the islands nearby and the city further north. Though at first glance it may seem a simple, misty port with the odd ship here or there, some more damaged than others from the rough seas, if one was to look deeper within, one could notice that riches, quests and intriguing stories lie behind every person and every building.

Climbing from the bowels of the worn but reliably sturdy merchant ship, she lifted her arms and reached for the misty blue sky. The n** of cool air was welcoming on her exposed skin as the rooms below were warm and stuffy. With a yawn, and light pinch of her already natural rosy cheeks, Rur'Adika stepped to the bow of the ship to find them just making port in Southport.

Waiting at the railing, she watched as the sailors did their job and her managing to keep out of their way. Many of them giving her waves and soft smiles. Rur'Adika had accrued her passage not by money but rather as a means of stress relief for the men and their captain. A 'lively respite from the sea' the Captain had said. She had served as musical magical trickster as means of entertainment for the men, though some would have preferred another kind, she was not that sort of entertainer.

Now with the grunge of the sea soon to be behind her, Rur'Adika was eager to put the sea behind her, though lovely as it was, the trip has taken longer then anticipated due to skirting a nasty storm. Having not been sea-sick before, that rocking from just missing the worst part of the storm and tossed her stomach into retching everything up she had put down.

Hearing the crack of the gangplank put down, and at the creek of the hull's storage doors opening, she spun around in her deep magenta skirt and creamy layers to the dock and the sailors unloading her horse Croix. With his bridal in hand, she heard the cries of goodbyes of the men and the Captain himself lifting his feathered hat in her direction. With waves and smiles she departed the dock with a skip in her step as she made her way toward the main market street which was usually the most lively.

"Let's go see if we can find an inn where we can room and board up for the night ya Croix," she said to the large auburn and cream beast that stood well above her height.

"I dare you to gaze into my eyes like open doors...
Leading you down into my core where I’ve become so numb,
Without a soul my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold,
Until you find it there and lead it back home"

Strolling through Southport, Maues here for his own sinister intentions. He needed some connections, some ties, some power. But where was he going to get any of that? And what was worse, the fact that the place he fitted in most was in the Land of Crows. At least now the borders are open and he can leave as he pleases. When he somehow managed to get inside the barrier he never realised how hard it was to get out. soon though, soon he'll unleash his wrath on the world once more, he was going to control Non-magic Earth some day. It was complete and utter disgust living in this magical world like trapped guinea pigs.

Perhaps his next course of action would best be to pay another visit to Merlin at some point. Better yet, why not wait for the stupid forces of the Scarred to leave gaping wound in each city. At least then he'll have the upper-hand. By tomorrow the small 'wars' as they call it will be over, although no one seems to be worried at all... but Maues knew one thing they did not. One of the three Greater Demon's of Hell was personally heading for Shard City. It made him relish at the thought, whilst the forces of Magic Earth faced again demons, he'll be able to sneak away.

((sorry this is all i've got, i can't think of a reason why he would realistically interact with anyone crying ll :'( ))

Going to the bags and rolls on Croix's back, she fumbled with some while walking down the street. Her horse keeping a steady pace and keeping on track, Rur'Adika searched for what she wanted. Pulling out a silk wallet, she flipped it open in the hopes to see paper notes only it was empty. Right along with the change purse except perhaps a few simple coins; only amounting to spare change.

Sighing, the raven haired gypsy remembered why she had not paid at all for anything on the ship; she had nothing to offer but her talents. So now she was left with still no money. Looking to the sky however, the sun was only beginning to wake and so was the rest of the port.

"...the day is still young after all..." she murmured optimistic about earning what she needed before the day was out. Looking to her traveling companion Rur'Adika grinned. "Looks like we are going to be earning our keep before we spend it. Come along Croix."

Leading the animal by the bridle with the slightest touch, as he would follow her through a crowd without it, Adi preferred it so no one yanked on it in an unwelcome fashion. Once down the busiest street, she searched for an alcove that she would station herself in. Next to a spirits establishment, there were many barrels and crates, functioning as both a stage and comfortable environment for the day. With eager enthusiasm, Adi placed Croix aside and began pulling out items from the bags one would think impossible to put inside them. One in particular was a large chest like box that had a bronze wheels and turning gears. Aged and worn, she began rotating the crank and soon music began to play from it. Falling over the crowd with beautiful music not of the Land of Crows.

Adi having placed a small chest for any money people would like to give her, she took her place upon her makeshift stage. Her dress and embellishments jingling, what caught most of the crowds attention was the flash of color and sparks Adi blew from her hands right along with a flock of colorful birds.

Simple trickery and magic to catch their attention.

As the music began to play with more gusto, so did Rur'Adika's body begin to move and way with the flow. Skirts and raven hair flying, her jewelry flashing and chiming, from the side she pulled out a tambourine, playing it as she swayed her hips and moved her feet to the melody. At times using her magic to give the crowd a dramatic flare of excitement. Like pulling a hoop from her ear and throwing it into the sky, it enlarged and floated on its own. Leaving the gypsy girl dancing along side it but also with it.

All the while a beautiful smile on her painted lips and warm eyes closed or staring into the gathering crowd.

Initially Maues became bored with the port, soon ti would be filled with beggars and filthy salesmen, sometimes even adventurers trying to catch a ride to the nearby islands for quests with bountiful rewards. Not even everyone here was good with magic, some only had the slightest idea of what to do with their heritage. No surprise for a place like this, but further north it would be all that everyone did. Standing amongst the crowd he crossed his arms and stared outwards... there was no disciples worthy of recruiting. That was what he needed... a group of followers. A group to raise awarness when he is ready, to place signs to forewarn all that would dare oppose him. He would even go as far as to say he could scare off En'radial, the Maiden of Torment herself.

And then a lady and her horse brushed past him, following her and her bright colours they soon settled nearby, and it wasn't long until she was putting on a show. Some men particularly liking the show dropped her some coins, then splashes of colour ignited and cheers roared. Weaving himself between the crowd, he moved like a snake, a cunning viper waiting to begin his pestilence and spread his tongue to the minds of everyone. That was until he could swallow everyone whole and denounce the world as his own. Standing in the shadowy area nearby he peered over. What a wonderful mystic... how pleasurable it would be to have someone so... convincing by his side.

She noticed the offerings of payment easily enough, but she never missed a beat in her performance and dance with her golden hoop. Enjoying more the cries of awe and cheering from the crowd. This was what she really wanted, to hear them happy with her performance, the money was really only as a means to survive and not for profit.

With a sweep of her hand, the ring was in her grasp and now back to the size of an earring. Going into a series of tight swirls and spins, the flurry of her deep magenta skirts flared outward. Leaving the creamy layers beneath to be seen, right along with her decorated ankles; charms and rings adorned them with chains and gems. When she finally stopped Rur'Adika swept her arms back to bring them sweeping back to her lips as if to blow kisses from both hands. Only the adornments on her hands touched her lips instead of skin.

Not a moment later, the gypsy woman was blowing a decent size ball of fire over her head and the crowd. The ball itself exploding into small fire-birds that cried out their lovely mournful song. With that showing ending, Rur'Adika bowed and waited for that applause and cry for more if there was to be one.

Soon enough the flare of performance was coming to an end, in a cascade of flames came the songbirds of fire. Maues in all his... little respect continued to watch and scowled into the sky to following the sparks of life. When the display was over the crowd seemed to begin begging for more until a new ship docked at the port. With the sudden ring of the captain the crowd attention was taken immediately by the call of new goods, perhaps there were even some from Occulas. Maues was thankful to see them go, that amount of mundanes around him was intoxicating. When the crowd was dispersed Zoltan Maues stepped forwards. As he came closer he tucked his black cross necklace into his shirt, it was to some an emblem of dark magic, but to him it was how he channeled his own variation of shadow magic from the Underworld. Unlike the shadowmancers of Delorius'tatem that use it for good... Zoltan Maues earned a sinister title for using it his own way.

Maues looked at the young woman with his yellow eyes and said "such a pity you're out-done by a failing ship".

"I would love to see what else you can do with all that magic you control"

The voice of encore was on the wind and she could only smile happily at the knowledge that the crowd enjoyed it. Coming from her bow like curtsy, Rur'Adika was about to continue with the cry from the port came. The captain crying out about his wires and product brought in. He even caught her attention with his cries.

As these people depended on much of what came into the port, she was not about to curse them for it. So with the crowd thinning, she chose now would be a good time to rest. Day still young and as the produce and merchant sales came and thinned, she would perform again. Hopefully earning a fair amount to board up somewhere with at least a little bit of food. Going to her offering chest, Rur'Adika began counting and picking up the coins that had missed the chest.

She was in the middle of that task when a shadow fell over her and a voice rang out speaking in a smooth silky baritone. Looking up, she could see his face just enough from the rising sun to make out his pale skin ,and angled features; dark hair and clothes. His yellow eyes reminding her slightly of a snake.

"Oh...hello," she said smoothly with a charming smile. "Yes well...can only be expected in a port town; what comes in is practically their livelihood, and I'm only a passer by."

With that said though, the gypsy thought there was a complimnet somewhere in there, specially as he asked about her magic making her laugh. The charming warmth filling the air around them.

"Magic I control...not really. The magic is all in the items I use, I just know enough to use them properly and many of them simply mundane to be little more then parlor tricks."

Rur'Adika was honest for the most part. She only used the more harmless and easy to use items in her performances. However, there were items in her box tricks that were far more deadly.

With a small yet defined smirk to his thin lips, cheeks creasing with his interest, he took a single small step back to enable her some room. All the time he seemed almost happy with himself, always pleased about something he had, or will be doing. "Even the simplest of tricks can arise the greatest of power" he said with a small chuckle. His snake-like eyes blinked slowly as he swallowed, breathed in and said "I admire the work of a Gypsie" he guessed she were, who else would roam the un-thankful lands in such a glamorous attire. "Always on the move, always learning tricks of the trade... always surviving." he spoke so smooth like velvet stroked the air with each syllable. With each words his continued to admire her instruments, her jewelry that was now evidently a source of her talent. He then flicked out a coin from his sleeve which was worth a considerable amount. A grin tugged at the corner of his cheeks, his yellow eyes narrowing in on the Gypsie almost with a convincing stare of care for the girl.

"Would it not be unconditional if a trustworthy wise-man shared his wealth?" he asked, holding this one desirable coin between his index and middle fingers.

His words though charming and certainly flattering, were really only making her laugh though blush a little as well. She wasn't one to think that she had all that much power to work with. Gypsies taught themselves, no professor or going to some academy to learn the ins and outs of the magic. It was merely handed on from one generation to the other.

"Yes...perhaps the little things can prove talent, but power takes more then that I'm sure." Rur'Adika after all was only a gypsy and her knowledge of such things limited.

Taking her chest she moved it towards her things and took out her coin bag and began filling it; the paper notes going into her silky wallet. When the stranger spoke of admiring the Gypsy way, her raven head did look up at him strangely. Hazel eyes curious as she looked up at him.

"Admiring the work of a Gypsy...in all my years I haven't heard that one before," she said with a chuckle. "Not sure what to say except a possible thank you..." Rur'Adika was about to speak further when out of no where the stranger flicked a coin at her; the ring of the precious medal her clue. He held it out between his fingers. "I'm not one to say...I welcome any donation you're willing to give...Mr...I don't believe I caught you name."

Maues was somewhat surprised when she asked for a name, however, his sly mind was quick to react. "Maues" he began. "Michael Maues" he then grinned to the gypsie. "and of coarse, this is my promise to say i'll be seeing you again, whenever, i hope it is soon", he was so cunning, so smooth. But... it was all an act. "And what may i refer to you as, if i so happen to spread such a beauties name?" he asked politely, handing over the expensive coin.

A raise of the brow was all she had for a reaction to the name at first, however, a warm smile soon followed. "Michael Maues..." she droned letting it fall from her lips fluidly and a sparkle in her hazel eyes. "It's always a pleasure seeing a familiar face."

In those words it was her own way of inviting him to returned.

Asking for her own name was expected however, it was always nice to know that he was that interested. In what way she wasn't sure, too soon to tell, but Rur'Adika was more leaning toward her magic talent and items. Extending her hand palm up, the coin dropped into it, tapping against the gem and bracelet adornment on her hand.

"Rur'Adika Addaharra, is the name you'll be needing," she said and wrapped her fingers around the coin as she stared up at him with a smile.

He was delighted to know she was inviting him back, she was truly a pure hearted girl, and as the coin dropped to her hand a name was revealed. It was such a unique name, if he were to ever confuse her for someone else now it would be hard to believe. Her eyes looked up to him, glistening with hazel beauty and a smile to add the finishing touches. It almost made him want to feel guilty for what he may later try to deceive upon her.

And then he returned a slender smile before breaking their exchange with a look behind him. His eyes scouring amongst the commoners and slivering across the floor before turning back to the gypsie. Time for his next trick, the quickly greet... and quickly leave. What better way to create interest in one self than by not giving enough time to answer enough questions. "I'll be searching for that name from here on" he then said. And then the new shipment of newspaper came in, the paper boy shouting out "SPECIAL ARTICLE, He who has not been seen in years! And how has the syndicate prepared for another visit?! Now our borders are open get ready to find out who exactly has been giving our dark magics of Declasia a foul image!".

Looking behind him again, but this time faster he gave a sinister look at the gathering crowds. Sometimes... it was not a good thing that the borders were open, all of a sudden the Land of Crows was getting information from his previous acts, and acts of all others. No doubt the Black Knight will be in that article, and no doubt Maues will be mentioned too. That was years ago... and he didn't even use the same shadow magic as the conclave! The Demonaria strictly taught him of blood and bone magic, his dark magic was merely a tainted arcane magic! Bah, it made him angry thinking about it. Though... at least word of him would be renewed once again.

Seeing as he took time to look into the crowd around them, though the crowd itself aloof to their position in the little nook. Rur'Adika took the time to admire the coin she had just received. She was thankful for any and all donations and admired each, looking at this one though she was struck with curiosity.

The coin was not one she was familiar with, and she had been to plenty of places to be familiar with most all kinds of currency. It was silver in color, and nearly the size of on of her medium sized loop earrings. When Michael looked back to her she placed it in her purse with the rest of them. Though she had no intent on spending it...not until she knew what it was; asking would be rude though.

"Search away...if you travel far out from these borders, you may find people familiar with it," she stated evenly, not as a means to boast but as honest way of stating her travel was far and wide.

The conversation may have gone further had it not been for the little paper boy announcing his front page article of the day. All of it was rather interesting as a new resident at the moment. Rur'Adika also noticed Michael's interest and attention on the boy, though she never saw his face, though if hadn't been mistaken he may have tensed.

"The article of interest to you Mr. Maues?" she asked calmly.

His attention was taken back to the gypsie as she asked about his interests in the article, he could only exhale cheaply and think for a moment. "It's mere news that has sadly grown too old for this day and age" he sighed, trying to divert any attention from it. "say" he then began, holding a hand behind his back as casual as possible. "How often do you venture the South of Occulas?" and then he clenched his fist in the hopes to break that damned paper-boy's legs right through the bones. And like the speed of lightning the boy yelled and fell to the ground, complaining about his leg. Maues then arched one of his brows and said "oh" ebfore looking over his shoulder. "Oh dear" he later added almost as if he cared. He didn't take rivalry very well.
