Having been lost in the hysteria of the tournament's victors and the Sahara trip AND Halloween, Chel and Abbi were finally going on that ice cream run. It was long overdue, actually, and they were just about ready to fly the coop.
"Got the battery in m'backpack. We're are golden brown, friend," she said to Abbi as they walked towards where the portals used to operate. Unfortunately the shorter girl went slightly ignored, as Chel had her cell phone out and was texting up a storm.Quote: Just as a note to everyone; this DOES require that your hunter has the time to take off. For plotting purposes, they're just going to be gone for the day! Also if you are busy don't feel forced to join, this is for fun <3 nyxtsuki moon Text to Nevada: yo brownie were getting ice cream. come to the portal xoxo inle-roo Text to Evan: ey blondie come 2 the portal were gettin that ice cream finally lol celebratin' ur intermediate status ha ol-j-man Text to Jack: beanstalk get ur a** 2 the portal were gettin ice cream b there or b squared ******** class="clear"> chirigami Text to Milo: lol power ranger we gettin ice cream like we said. come 2 the portal.

Nevada finished her last stack of paperwork, rubbing at her tired eye and the constant straining feel it had now. Being a cyclops was ******** hard.
She was about to lean back in her chair for a much needed cat nap when her phone, which had been on for death communication, beeped with a text message from Chelsea.
It was weird how such a little thing made her all fuzzy. Her girlfriend texting her, it was odd to her.
Sending a quick text back, Nevada stretched with a yawn before heading to her room for appropriate ice cream wear and then heading to the lighthouse.
Chimarii Text to Chel: Finally! I'll be there soon Pinkie ;'D

Finally mended enough to warrant going out, Abbi was beyond excited when Chelsea came knocking at her dorm door to make good on their promise of going out for ice cream. The teen had dressed exceptionally cute just for the occasion, even going so far as to bring along the squishy teddy bear backpack she'd smuggled with her things to Deus, though she did still wear a pair of high socks to cover up what few bandages she had left. But even that wasn't enough to dampen her glorious mood, not when mint chocolate chip and peanut butter cup and rocky road were only a portal hop away. Speaking of hopping, the teen could not help herself as she not so much walked alongside Chelsea so much as she jumped from spot to spot. It was half a nervous habit (cause Chel was super cool and awesome and into video games and asd;lkhfd hanging out) but also because she was just so damn excited! Deus was fun, but even a small trip away was even more fun! "Golden brown like toast or marshmallows? I say marshmallows those are waaay tastier and OOOHHH maybe we can get marshmallows on our ice cream mmm that would be so so nice!" The filter was off for today and Abbi continued to jabber on about anything and everything until she noticed Chelsea's lack of attention. With a pout the teen peeked over at her friend's phone, purple eyes scanning the screen just in time to watch her finish up a message to whoever was an intermediate and then begin one to Jack. They were inviting more people? So it was like AN ADVENTURING PARTY. Aw man that was ace! Not wanting to let her own adventurer friends be left out, Abbi took out her phone. Seussi Text to Finn: FIIIIIIIINNNNN~ (◕‿◕✿) Meet me RIGHT NOW at the lighthouse if you want in on a SUPER DUPER FUN off island ADVENTURE. (Hint: Its for ice cream) ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ°☆.。.:* Enoh Love Text to Ripley: RIPLEY RIPLEY RIPLEY I'm going off island with some friends for ice cream COME WITH US (☆^O^☆) It'll be lotsa funnnnn (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) Meet me at the lighthouse in 5 SECONDS!! Abbi was super A+ at texting you guys.

Ripley had been getting an awful lot of text messages lately. Not that he minded of course, it was more just something he hadn't quite gotten used to. When this particular text came through he stared at it, trying to figure out what (☆^O^☆) and (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) meant...and when he naturally failed he was at least thankful that the rest of it made sense. Well, made sense for Abbi, anyway. She texted like she spoke, and it was adorable.ayeavast Text to Abbi: You're setting me up to fail. I'll be there shortly. Seriously, how could anyone get anywhere like that in five seconds?! Abbi was crazy. He hurried nonetheless, excited for a chance to get off the island and have normal food, and he managed to make it to the lighthouse in under three minutes, which was pretty good. He'd only gotten lost once, and thankfully briefly.
"Ice cream, huh? Do you really think you need sugar?" He teased Abbi first, patting her head in greeting. To the other two there, he offered a smile. "Hi, I'm Ripley. Are you sure it's okay if I join you?"

Finn received a message that even if he hadn't read the senders name, he would have recognized because somehow her over excitability had transferred to text form. He sat in the common room of the dorm staring at the message for a good, long time, before finally hitting the reply button. AyeAvast It is physically impossible for me to be there right now, but I'll be there in a few minutes. He wasn't particularly interested in icecream, but he was definitely interested in a day off of the rock...or at least a few hours? That wouldn't cut into his off island time with Fini too much would it? He felt sort of guilty about the whole thing and rubbed at his face a few times before finally getting to his feet. He could at least go to the portal to see the others off if nothing else, and if he did decide to go he'd just have to be damn sure to bring something back for his woman...unless of course she had been invited to go along as well, in which case there really wouldn't even be a problem, right? Relationships. This is the part about them he didn't enjoy nearly as much. It only took him a few minutes to make his way to the lifehouse, and when he arrived he gave Chel a smile and a wave, ignored Nevada completely, and veered towards Abbi and Ripley, catching the tail end of what Ripley just said. "Of course she doesn't need it. She's pretty sweet already on her own." Aw ya complimenting the little lady like a pro. See, Ripples, that was how it was meant to be done. Take note.

There was an obvious disappointment in Nevada's face when she saw Finn, the other hunter she didn't know.
But since he went over to them, she too decided to play the Ice queen routine. She had a feeling she might be the awkward one out.
Added to that, where ever Finn was, Jack was probably following along.

Ice cream . . . in November. Huh. Well, it was a good excuse to leave the island. Jack raised his brows at the text from Chel anyway, wondering if this was a pseudo date or not.
Clearly, from the number of people at the meeting spot, though, it wasn't.
Joy of joys. So his . . . "group"--what do you call people who invariably find their way to his presence?--managed to mostly get in on the venture; he was half expecting Fini to show up too. Near Chel was Nevada, which was just fantastic bonus points. This was either going to be awful or mildly interesting.
He crossed his arms loosely and surveyed them all with a bored, if slightly impatient look that said, Well?

Chel smiled as people poured in, happy to see all friendly faces. Well ... most were friendly faces. Some were sort of twisted in a grumpy [removed](she's looking at you Jack), but ice cream would soon fix that, right? Just a little mint chocolate chip and everyone would be good as new.
"Looks like we're just waiting on Evan and Milo I think," she said, scanning the small crowd that had formed. Hopefully none of the division leads had noticed their little party forming. Sure she had a portal battery, but it didn't necessarily mean she was supposed to use it for ice cream ...
She just sort of listened idly to Abbi, calming patting the girl on the head as she babbled about marshmallows. Luckily Ripley and Finn gave her someone to talk to. Finn got a wave and even a high five as he arrived. When Jack showed up, Chelsea smiled really wide. "Beanstalk! You made it!" she said excitedly. It was oddly thrilling to see Jack here. It was probably because it felt like a massive mountain had been overcome. A mountain called friendship.
It was then that she glanced to Nevada. "What's wrong little lady?" she said, wrapping an arm around the girl's shoulder and jostling her a little bit. "Eat somethin' bad before coming or somethin'? Did you get scolded for leaving?" Chel nodded. "I know that deal bro. Just ride it out- we'll have ice cream soon!"

Milo hadn't been too busy when he had gotten the text, but enough in his small little task of the day to show up ceremonially late like usual. (Well, he needed to stop by his room to drop off his jacket, as well). He got there as quickly as he could, without getting too lost. Because it was ice cream day, the splendid day that Chel had mentioned to him.
"Yo!" He greeted, shooting a hand up in a wave to announce his arrival to the little group. Many of whom he did actually know, some he knew of and had seen and few few he didn't. Awesome. "ZyuPink, Green Giant," Each one getting a head nod, "Nevada," he really needed to think of a nickname for you, "other awesome people." His waving hand was finally stuffed into his pocket along with the other as he joined the group properly, wearing a goofy sort of grin.

Nevada sighed to herself as yet again, she was right. As soon as Finn showed up, his big green friend came along as well.
Is this what she had to look forward to? Jack and Finn constantly around. Making friends with her friends, hanging out.
Even Chelsea was getting along with them, and Nevada didn't see HOW?
"Nothing's wrong..." She tried to calm down, relax, give Chelsea a lazy smile like it didn't bother her when it did. It came out as a lopsided smile instead. "No no, I'm just a little tired Chel, Don't mind me. We'll get Ice cream and it'll be okay."
And thank god cause there was a Milo.
"Hi Milo." Nevada smiled at the boy too, "It's nice to see you Ranger." Chelsea had informed her of what Milo was after all. It all made sense now.

The text messages that Abbi received, even if they were in the affirmative that they would come along, still contained a hint of snark in their rebuttal of Abbi's request. When she looked back up to find Nevada had arrived, the girl had a mild look of ;AAAA; on her face for about five seconds. That was all it took for her to realize that her friends were cominggggggg so she brightened up and bounced over to Nevada. "This is gonna be SOMUCHFUN!" She told her with a jump into the air. After a quick little dance around her friend, and another one made in Chelsea's direction, she turned and spotted Ripley making his way over. Like a shot of lightning she was off, tripping across the sand to greet him with a shout of his name and a collision into his arm. She hadn't meant to crash into him, so much as just reach out for him but well, she'd overshot the distance by just a smidget. About to say something about how delicious and good sugar was for her, Abbi gasped delightedly instead to hear Finn compliment her. The girl squealed his name and launched herself at him for a hug because Finn u were here fav ok. "I'm so glad both of you came! This is gonna be THE BEST." The arrival of two others distracted Abbi and she pushed both Ripley and Finn back over to Nevada and Chelsea with a grin. "Hi person! I'm Abbi and this is Ripley and Finn!" She greeted to Milo with a excited wave and grin. Jack also received a wave, but a less subdued one simply because the girl still felt as though given the option between having to be near her and jumping off a cliff, he would prefer to test his ability to fly. Which was a bit of a downer, honestly, but whatever! Today was ice cream day and Abbi refused to let herself be down about it when Ripley was here and Finn had complimented her so nicely. So there!

Beanstalk, Green Giant . . . He was starting to wonder if he should just dye his hair again to avoid that constant metaphor.
"Yo," he replied in kind to Milo and Chel, raising a brow as Abbi did her Abbi thing (which involved all things hyperactive). His look almost read something like, And no introduction for me? I smell favoritism. Jack looked, probably for the first time since arriving on the island, a little lost. Congregating for a mission was one thing: at least there was purpose to it. But being among a lot of people just for a social outing . . . He felt more than his height stuck out in this case.
Turning the pair he had so endearingly began calling Hallowlesbians, he asked, "So, Stormy showing up? Party's getting a little big here." See, he was even using her stupid nickname or whatever here.

Evan literally growled at his phone as it went off, disturbing his doze. He had just gotten back to the island after spending what felt like forever off of it, and he really, really needed a good night's sleep before the next mission. A good night's sleep and some food that didn't come out of a box or a packet. A good night's sleep, some food that didn't come out of a box or a packet, and enough alcohol to drown an elephant. He wasn't asking much. He was pleasantly (no, pleasantly was a stretch) surprised to find that he was not, in fact, being sent off God knew where to do God knew what. Ice cream was not on the list of things he needed at that moment, but at least it would get him off the island for something where he wouldn't need to worry about anything more dangerous than brain freeze. And maybe they could hit up a liquor store on their way back. On his way to the portal, he shot off a quick text to Stormy. Ol-j-man I hear if you come to the lighthouse right now, ice cream will happen. And puppies. Evan was totally lying about the puppies, but whatever. She would probably stay for the ice cream, at least. He grunted a tired greeting at the group once he arrived at the lighthouse. "Waiting on one more," he told Chel.

Chel waved at Milo excitedly. Good to see that everyone she'd invited was showing up. It was always a bummer when people ditched. So it was good to see that no one had. "Good to see you, Green Ranger, Sir," she said was a salute and a laugh.
Turning back to Nevada, she brought the girl close and put a kiss on the side of her head. "Hey, take it easy alright? If you need to we can ditch man. I can hand the portal battery off to Abbi ..." She sounded a little disappointed, but if Nevada needed to stay home, she was willing to sacrifice.
Abbi came bopping around, and then was quickly off to the next person. Chel had to wonder where the girl got all her energy, and vaguely wondered if they could convert it to energy to power the island.
Jack got a head tilt. "Stormy? Nah, I texted her but I think her phone's off or something." One less wouldn't kill them. Actually, Stormy still kind of intimidated Chel. It was scary going up against Nevada's mother best friend. It made her feel all kinds of inadequate.
Evan showing up was the only reason Chel let go of Nevada. She did so to fling herself in a hug at the other sun. "Eeeeevan!!" she squealed, in a surprisingly girly manner. "One more? Who's coming?" Chel liked more people. The bigger the better, right?

"The more the merrierrrrr!" Abbi sang out in a stilted, not very melodic manner as she bunny hopped over to poke Jack in the ribs a few times before she hopped back away. Which was only about two jumps before she stopped to survey the group. While bigger was always better, right now she felt it an arbitrarily good amount. Without a word she tip toed over to Chelsea, trying to be sneaky but finding it difficult when she couldn't help but giggle every once in a while. Still, the girl looked distracted by Nevada so Abbi helped herself to the batteries in Chel's pack. It was time to be golden brown right now. With those necessary components in the hand the teen turned to look at the portal, not at all sure how they worked. Why wasn't there an instruction manual on this? { There probably is one, ya just didna see it thanks to yer day dreamin'! }Nope, nope Viveca you weren't invited to ice cream outing so Abbi wasn't going to listen to you sorry. With a hum Abbi found an empty spot on the portal and shoved the batteries in. That looked as good a spot as any! It seemed to almost work as the portal glowed hopefully and then faded. "Duh! Always switch the positives and negatives, ha! Silly me!" The girl rapped her own head once before she shuffled the batteries around and the portal finally kickstarted. Aw yiss! Ice cream, here they come! "Does this look right? I think it looks right? OK! ICE CREAM NOW YES, YES?"
