I'm watching television late at night and I start seeing commercials for those call-in hook up lines with girls in fancy underwear, commercials for Hooters, commercials for this immoral show on MTV called "Redneck Heaven" basically a show about a bunch of girls working at a topless bar. =,=
Is this really acceptable in today's society?
I am just so disgusted with it all.
Women are not objects to lust over, and we are not decorations.
We deserve respect, but we will not obtain such respect when we have smut like this poisoning the minds of others.
I'm sorry it just makes me so mad.
Like you would not believe.
I just hate how the world over sexualizes women.
I had to vent. D;

But-but they are so EMPOWERED by running around in their underwear! It's only sex, it's not that big of a deal! rolleyes
People just don't understand what they are doing to themselves. I used wear skimpy outfits and go to "erotic" parties. Really, what it came down to is that I did not understand how sexuality is ordered by God naturally, and my immodesty ended up being something that hurt me very much. Modesty is an overused word, but I find that it makes sense that women are so immodest, because they forgot who they are in relation to God.

I loved short skirts and low cut shirts... I'm still ashamed of how I used to act and dress.

that's to true but women know that men are weak to skin showing and a lot of girl are attention whorse but at least those girls dress like a slut and are out to being oogled at i really get made a women who dress smutty and then get mad at men for stare didn't they dress that way to be look at anyway? and dressing like sluts isn't impowering it's deceptive and demeaning cause a women only dress that way for a reason

There's this thing going around, too, about the whole "asking for it" thing, to do with rape. Now, obviously, it's super ultra mega wrong to rape anyone, or do anything like that, and there's no excuse, but there seems to be a false connection being made between wearing/not wearing modest clothes and "acceptable" rape, when really the encouragement to dress more conservatively is about respect and love, both toward someone's fellow man (or woman), and toward him/herself, and ultimately toward God. I feel like I get shot down with that whole "bigot" mantra whenever I suggest someone cover up a bit...

I believe that they can not be held to our standard since they are obviously not saved or, very, very deceived. We need to pray for the people whom have not been saved. We are no better though.
Romans 3:23-
" For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
If you haven't actually 'done it' Jesus also has something to say about that..
Matthew 5:28-
"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
Now of course, with the culture then, using male generally meant both male and female. Just in case anyone is to say "But that is just for men!"
We live in a world full of sin, even with ungodly people, including us. We are merely blanketed in God's righteousness through his sacrifice of grace and mercy.
It is very sickening. God hates such sin. In nearly every case when the Bible lists 'immorality' it almost always mentions sexual immorality first and always lists it as one of the first three sins listed. When it comes to the culture sexualizing women, it is also sexualizing men to be more feminine as well. Women are taught to think of themselves as 'toys', or 'pretty dolls' and women are taught to act like it and not think for themselves. The end result? Neither genders have respect for each other.
Maybe it has something to do with the divorce rate.. Either way, our culture, like many across the world are in deep decay. We need to target leaders of the media and bring them to Christ and his statutes so people learn God's ways instead of Satan's ways.
