Hesutu looked at the boy that he was helping along, sighing a bit as he did so, "You know you really are a pain in the a**, Lixes." The big spear man said as he looked down at the halfbreed, getting a rather dark glare in return for his words. It had started in Tale, carried on until they got to Sauti, and now it seemed to be getting worse, that being the fever that the boy had. They had treated the wounds that Oulixes had gotten in their small scuffle but it seemed that the poison used to subdue him hadn't gone over well with the boy. If anything it had made him sick, feverish, a touch delirious at times, and various other problematic symptoms. It was going to make the return home that much more difficult.

"Just try to survive, I doubt your father would appreciate me bringing home a corpse when he seemed to want to bring young back alive." He told him, starring at him for a moment, then sighed again.

There was a snort from Oulixes who muttered, "Oh, I'm so sorry... I don't mean to make your day difficult, Hesutu..." His voice was dripping with sarcasm and he took a swing at Hesutu, a blow that was easily fended off. He hadn't done well against the more skilled Hesutu when he was at his best, of course he wouldn't do all that well against him when he was feeling bad. It didn't mean that he wouldn't continue to try though, "Ugh... I hope I do die, then he will beat you senseless instead of me... would be a nice change of pace."

"You aren't dying." Hesutu said simply, giving him a glare, before he continued forward, "There is a village nearby, we will see about finding a Healer there. You will get a quick healing session and then we will continue onward to where your father waits for us." He said, hating having to stop where there were other people, not wanting Oulixes to come up with a sob story to try to get others to save him, but Hesutu would need to risk it. He couldn't let his prey die after all. If that happened not only would the boy's father be pissed but the man would likely take it out on Hesutu, not something the spear man wanted to deal with.

It was not yet a week after Rastian had returned from Tale after his long, aggravating quest to become a Healer, and thankfully, it had been spent resting and relaxing without the company of either of his brothers, nor nephew, to make it stressful. His wounds were beginning to bandage more easily, or at least tolerate the wrappings for a few hours before needing a change, and his fevers were slight or no existent, all things which gave him hope that simple rest was all he needed to keep himself healthy.

"Alright, where did I keep that book...?" He muttered, digging through his satchel. He was alone in Mez today, another plus to his relaxation, and figured that studying his spell book would be of use to him while no one was around. Usually Natsu or Viveka wanted him to go somewhere with them or take Ogbonna off their hands so they could be all romantic and junk... UGH. It was nice to have this time to himself...

As he turned, book in hand, to find a suitable place to read, his attention turned towards the entrance to the village. There, not too far off, were Oulixes and Hesutu. What were two ice tribesmen doing out here? Were they lost? He stood, placed his book down on the ground, and moved to wander towards them.

"Welcome to Mez, are you two looking for a place to rest?" He called, before noticing how bad Oulixes looked. "s**t, what happened to him?! Did you roll down a cliff side or something?"

Oulixes jerked his head toward the voice, starring at Rastian for a moment, then looked away. He recognized him, to a degree at least, but he didn't mean to let on about it. If he did that then it was likely Hesutu wouldn't allow the guy near him. Best that he did what he did best, that being not letting anyone close, he was rather good at that he thought to himself, refusing to look over at Rastian any longer.

Hesutu glanced over at the one that had come to greet them and the older man gave him his best smile despite the fact that it was quite obvious that this one was like Oulixes, another half blood. They seemed to be more common then his boss would like, not that he would ever say that the man, not wanting to hear anymore of his lectures, "Nothing so dramatic as that, merely an accident during a practice duel. We were hoping our own attempts at patching him up would work until we got home... but it would seem as though we were wrong. As such, here we are. If you could point us in the direction of your Healer I would be most appreciative." Best that he act his most friendly at the moment and just make it seem like something simple. He knew that there were many out there who didn't like the term 'bounty hunting' and as such would ask far too many questions.

The man shifted Oulixes slightly in his grasp, not wanting to risk dropping him even if his arm was getting tired supporting the man for so long, "Once we are done treating him we will be on our way, you needn't worry about that." He added, in case this was a group that didn't want to bring in outsiders... though that might be something that happened more back home instead of here. Hard to tell at first glance after all.

Oulixes was lucky that Rastian's memory of the tournament was fogged by his recent class quest, or he would have addressed the injured man himself. The indigo haired man nodded towards Hesutu in an almost nonchalant manner and pointed to himself.

"You're looking at the only Healer available, everyone else is either hunting, traveling or too old to give a damn." He explained, motioning towards the tents. "If you'll just follow me, I can see what I have to aide your friend here."

He turned just a tad, before noticing Hesutu shift Oulixes in his grasp, and sighed. "You look tired, allow me to help you carry him over." He said, moving to lift Oulixes arm over his uninjured shoulder. "Damn, you've got one hell of a fever! How long have you been feeling like this?"

Hesutu starred at Rastian for a long moment before he gave a slow nod, "I see, alright then if you are the Healer then it seems that luck is on our side." He murmured, figuring that it was only right that it was this one that took care of Oulixes, one halfbreed treating another. Hesutu was almost positive that his boss would see it as the way that things should be done, that those of their group shouldn't dirty their hands doing such a thing. He didn't care one way or the other who treated Oulixes though, so long as someone did he was less likely to get the brunt of the boss's anger.

When the Healer took the burden of Oulixes's weight off his shoulder he stood himself upright once more, rolling his shoulder, then stretched out his muscles, "Mmm, thank you, a bit of rest will be in order if we are to make it back to Zena in a timely manner."

The quiet Oulixes gave Hesutu a glance then looked back at Rastian once more before he said, "A while. I came from deep in the South of Tale with this wound, it seemed to go badly after a while." He explained in a low, muttering tone of voice.

"The South of Tale?" Rastian gawked, having ignored Hesutu's words in favor of his patient's. "You've been traveling far too long with a fever, you two have to be insane. Not to be rude, but common sense could have been applied long before you reached me."

He walked the pair towards the tents and parted the flaps of a large one with his free hand. Inside of the tent were various blankets, a table or two, stools, and an assortment of bags laying around. He moved to lay Oulixes down upon a pile of blankets before grabbing a bucket and bundle of rags.

"You," He said, waving the objects towards Hesutu. "go fetch some water from the canteen outside and soak these rags in the water. No need to drain them, just leave them in the bucket. Make sure the water is clean, too, any impurities could irritate his skin." Once he had finished giving his orders, he turned towards one of the larger bags beside him and pulled some vials. He studied each carefully for a moment, giving a tsk sound now and then, before popping a pale colored one open and applying it to Oulixes' skin.

"Might feel frigid, which is a good thing." He said, offering the other a smile. "So, besides getting injured and having to go through the most inhospitable place in the world, is there anything else I need to know? Anything else bothering you might help me make you feel better faster."

Oulixes gave a pained chuckled, "In all fairness the fever didn't start there, it's just where I got the wound that was the cause of it." He said as he leaned into the one helping him along. Not as though he wanted to seek aid from Rastian but as it was he doubted very highly that he would be able to carry himself anywhere. He'd been relying on Hesutu for a time, someone he didn't even like, which really said something about his condition. The very last thing he wanted was to really rely on anyone other then himself but... here he was, relying on not one but two people... such a pain. A part of him almost wished that he had just stayed with Yaholo but at the same time he would never want for Yaholo to face off with Hesutu, not wanting to see his friend get poisoned and taken down in the same swift, brutal manner that Oulixes had been taken in.

As he was helped into a tent, left alone now with Rastian as Hesutu was given his orders by the rather daring healer. He let his yellow eyes sink closed, just enjoying the feeling of being able to lay down, before he turned toward the sound of the other guy's voice, "Eh? Oh... heh. I doubt you would be pleased to hear it but I may have also been poisoned along the way." It was something he was more then certain would piss the Healer off immensely but if the guy wanted to treat him and get him back on his feet best he knew that Oulixes had been given a dose of poison, "That was... some time ago though... so I doubt know if it's out of my system yet or if its a sort that would stick around and keep me weak." He shrugged, as though such a thing meant nothing to him. Given all he'd been through in his life thus far what was a little poison?

He shrugged then said, "You shouldn't really waste all your time and supplies though... I am sure where I am headed I will only end up back in this condition or worse." His tone was the muttering sort as he said those grim words. He shouldn't drag Rastian into this but he couldn't seem to still his tongue, perhaps it was the fever that was causing him to be more loose with his words? No matter what it was though he really needed to try to silence himself.

Rastian nodded along as Oulixes spoke, taking in his words while gathering the tools he would need. Dry cloths, powders, more vials, bandages, all these things and more were pulled out of each bag and placed around where he knelt. Some things he knew he would probably not need, but it was always best to be prepared for the unexpected. Such as poisoning, as Oulixes had mentioned.

"Poisoned, eh? Were you battling to the death or something?" He questioned, arching his eyebrow towards the other. He turned quickly to fiddle with a few small jars to his side and nodded when he found the right one. "Here, this stuff may taste like junk but it's the only ingestible antidote I have." He popped the jar open, grabbed a piece of bread from a nearby table and dipped it in the antidote, before handing it to Oulixes. "Sorry if you don't feel like eating, but it's best to take it with food or your stomach will feel like a war zone."

As he sat back down beside Oulixes he couldn't help but give him an perplexed look. Waste his time and supplies? Was he joking?

"You sound like my brother when he's afraid to leave his house..." He mumbled, rolling his eyes. "Don't bother with me, I'm fine wasting my time alone, blah blaaah blaaaah..."

Then, his eyes widened slightly. Whoa, wait... He was going to Zena to get hurt? What? The healer was taken a back for a moment before he glanced towards where Hesutu had gone. So... This wasn't a friendly battle, was it? His expression fell to that of a thoughtful sort, before a slight smirk rose to replace it. "Don't worry about a thing, I'll make sure you're strong enough to take on whatever the hell comes your way."

Oulixes gave a bit of a shrug, "Naw... not really, if that guy heard that Hesutu killed me I am sure Hesutu would be sent along after me into Hell to drag me back." He muttered, knowing damn well that his father didn't have something so simple as death waiting for Oulixes back home. No, it would be prolonged and painful then perhaps at the end merciful death... well, that or the guy would throw him aside to wait for the next time. The man wasn't the sort that so easily threw aside a punching bag after all he thought to himself before he opened his golden eyes once more to regard Rastian.

Thus far it would appear as though the guy didn't know him, a good thing of course, and one that he shouldn't be too surprised about. They had met only in passing after all and only Oulixes was so paranoid that he recalled every face of all the people he'd ever met along with whether or not he felt that they were a threat. This one, he wasn't a threat, in fact that entire group that he'd had the encounter with at the tournament weren't in mind... save for Yaholo. That man was the biggest threat out there he thought to himself, knowing full well that he was the sort that tempted Oulixes to settle down... something he couldn't allow himself to do. The very reason being those like Hesutu who served Oulixes's father all too loyally.

As the Healer started to talk about how Oulixes sounded like his brother he found himself trying to recall if he'd met his brother... but he wasn't certain. It wasn't as though he'd been with that group to learn their full back stories or anything. Just a quick meeting in passing, nothing more, nothing less. Giving a nod he said, "If you want, I hate you to waste your time on me but if it's what you really want." He supposed he couldn't complain, getting to meet his father face to face while at his best was better then going home weak, wounded, and fevered. The man was sure to mock him for such a weakness.

This time, Rastian seemed more focused on what his patient was saying, rather than what items he needed to fuss over. He didn't like the sound of this Hesutu guy, or whoever was waiting for Oulixes back in Zena. The place that Rastian loved so dearly harbored something malicious? The thought was so hard to fathom, but believable. Typically, he was very skeptical of strangers, but the way Oulixes looked just set off a nerve within him. It was one of those nerves that alerted him to danger or underlying threats.

And it was currently setting itself on fire.

"Hm. You know..." He mumbled, finally turning his attention back to his work. "I have some sharp knives you could hide pretty easily on your person. They work well for throwing and stealth, if needed. Would you like a few to take with you, as well as some healing potions?"

It was clear that Oulixes had given him enough of a scare to sense his patient wasn't going to leave his tent for further recovery, but the exact opposite. He hoped that Oulixes would accept the offer, before his own heroic streak decided to do something drastic.

"Knives... hm... could be useful. How nice would it be to actually get the drop on 'that guy' and maybe leave a mark behind on him for a change..." He muttered. He had so many scars on his person that were left behind by his father and the idea that maybe he could mark the man up in turn, it was a glorious idea for sure. He was sure that even if he somehow landed a hit that he would pay for it but it would be more then worth it to see that man bleed at his hands. He gave a ghost of a smile, nodding his head, "I would like that... though best not to give such things to me until we are ready to leave else Hesutu will notice." Of that he was certain, the man had eyes like a Raptrix and he would never be able to hide such things from him in such close quarters.

As though summoned by his name Hesutu returned, walking over to Rastian, handing over the various things that he'd requested before turning his attention to Oulixes who was laying down now, looking as though he was trying to rest up. He would need to be careful at the moment. Sure, he needed to see to it that the guy was healed up from the fever and the wound, he didn't want him to die after all, but he also had to be careful not to let him get well enough that he could escape. It was a fine balancing act for sure but he would see to it that he was brought home to his father as the man had ordered Hesutu to do.

"How long before he is able to travel? He has been gone for too long already and needs to get home soon." He said to Rastian, not wanting to rush the healer even though he really felt as though they needed to be moving soon. Zena wasn't going anywhere, sure, but his boss, Oulixes's father, wasn't a patient man. If he took too much longer it wouldn't be only Oulixes who found himself in hot water with the man.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 21, 2013 2:01 pm

"Of course, of course," Rastian replied. "I don't want to put you in any more danger, that's not a Healer's job." He turned back towards the jars, fussing over them once again, before freezing as Hesutu came back from his errand. The half-breed smiled towards the other man and took the items gratefully, before grasping an empty jar in his hand.

"Oh, HELL!" He growled. "I'm out of the powder that I'm supposed to mix into the water to ease his fever! Of all the things to go wrong..." Olive eyes darted towards Hesutu, then to Oulixes, before he moved to hand the jar to Hesutu. "I'm sorry to trouble you, but he won't be able to leave without this powder being applied to his skin. The berries it comes from are just around the bend by the lake, if you could gather a handful of them and bring them back I can make some from scratch."

In truth, Rastian had another jar in his satchel that he could use, but if he was to properly heal Oulixes he knew he needed to keep Hesutu busy.

Hesutu starred down at the jar that had been pressed into his hand for a long moment before he glanced toward Oulixes. It took a moment before he finally gave a nod, "Alright, I will see about getting them, can't have him burning up after all." He murmured, knowing full well the dangerous involved there. He couldn't allow him to suffer with the fever for long and really couldn't slack off and allow for it to get worse, it would cause them to be delayed in getting back, not to mention that it could severely harm the boy's mental health. Better he fetch and carry for the healer if it meant that the boy would end up back on his feet he decided.

"Do what you can for him now, I will fetch your berries." He said, giving Rastian a little nod of his head before he left the tent. Just around the bend by the lake, he would get them as quickly as possible. He could only hope that it wouldn't be too slow going a task... he probably should have asked how many exactly a 'handful' was considered but he figured he would see how plentiful they were and go from there.

Once Hesutu's footsteps faded Oulixes looked over at Rastian, "He's not the worst of them... amongst 'that guy's' men. He's not... super nice or anything but he's not the worst." He told the Healer, drawing in a deep breath, let it out slowly, then sigh a bit, "Damn it... this is so frustrating, I was doing so well keeping ahead of them. My own fault... I let my guard down, went to some stupid tournament... waste of time and left me sitting still too long." He muttered to himself, angry that he'd sat still for too long. He was being punished for that, he just knew it, he wasn't supposed to slow down or have any sort of fun, not if he wanted to keep away from these people. Such a pain...
PostPosted: Fri Nov 22, 2013 4:31 pm

Rastian gave a few slight nods and sighed as Hesutu left. Good, now he could use this time to arrange something for Oulixes to carry with him. While Oulixes muttered about the tournament, Rastian dug into his satchel and pulled out his extra jar, mixed some of the powder with the water in the bucket, and soaked the cloths in the water. Admittedly, his own slight fever was giving him some trouble, but not enough to make him ill. It was a minor hindrance that he could manage.

"Tournament?" He questioned, placing the drenched cloths upon whatever exposed skin Oulixes had, before placing a damp one on his forehead. "When did that happen? How'd you do?"

Though his fever at the moment was fine, the fevers he had experienced in the past month had done quite a number on his brain. All of his memories of the tournament we're pretty much blurred, as if they had been a dream. His gaze went distant for a moment, before he seemed to snap back into focus, a rather sly smile replacing that of emptiness.

"I've got an idea that just might give you an edge or more over your foe." He said. Eagerly, he stood and hustled over to the other side of the tent, where bandages had been placed. "I will bandage your wound, but leave you a pouch like section where you can hide small weapons, blinding powders, and other useful things for when you leave for Zena. That way, you can have these items on your person when you leave and your 'friend' won't be any wiser. Does that sound good to you?"

"When? Ahh... I don't know... a while ago... and I did alright, beat a couple people, both mages, then lost to someone I knew... so it was alright." He said, giving that slight smile that he would show from time to time. The fever seemed to allow the normally grouchy looking man to smile a bit more often then he normally did, "Ahh... that feels nice." He said in response to the cool, damp rag that was put on his forehead. It made him feel a bit better which allowed him to relax ever so slightly.

He forced his eyes open when the healer announced that he had an idea, looking curious about what it was. As he explained it to him he couldn't help but to be impressed, "You are rather sneaky for a healer type." He murmured, having always thought that they would be more the kindly, goody-goody sort. Instead it seemed as though he was wrong about all of that. It seemed as though even Healers could be quite sneaky he thought to himself, "Alright... we should try that, it might give me a chance... I just want to land to land... even one hit against 'that guy'... would make my day, even if I take a beating for it."

Oulixes held no illusions that he would defeat his father but that didn't meant that he wouldn't at least try to stand up to the man once he got home. The fact that this Healer, a man that didn't even know him, would help him in such a manner. It meant a lot to him and he would never be able to thank him enough for it.
