Well. It was definitely not a pile of foxfires, judging by the size of the pile already happily bouncing around at Jove's feet, so the only other option remained... And it made the pup sigh loudly.

He dropped his bag and his books, and then sat down on the bed next to the lump. When they had first met, Ren was all about naps like these. He could sleep at the drop of a hat, and the studious little ghost could never understand how the gryphon could spend so much time napping when there was so much studying and school work to be done. But then there had been a time when Ren couldn't sleep. Or when he slept so lightly he tossed and turned with nightmares. He had been confused and conflicted, and the conflicts all too easily followed him into bed for the night.

So to see that lump all peaceful under the covers made Jove realize exactly how far they had come. It seemed like a good sign. Maybe there was hope for them all even after everything they had gone through.

Unfortunately the lump couldn't stay peaceful forever. It was only a couple seconds before foxfires caught up and began leaping up onto the bed, clambering all over pillows, blankets, and suspicious lumps in their desire to happily wiggle closer to their owner.

Jove sighed again, and let Ren get all his affectionate greetings out of the way. It was easier to just let the gryphon do what he had to, otherwise the whole hugging and squealing event could drag on twice as long between protests. He glanced towards the door but there were no students passing by...

With a little huff he shoved his head against his brother's collarbone. Shush Ren, have a puppy nuzzle. No more screeching.

After a minute he pulled back and stared up at his brother. What brought Ren to sleep in his room? There were enough pillows back in the monster dorms, so comfort wasn't necessarily a consideration. It couldn't have been the calm, mushroom-lit atmosphere, not if hiding under the covers was the end result. The pup came to his conclusion quickly, Ren must have wanted to talk to him.

Okay so... he had forgotten how much hugging was involved. Was Ren still sleepy? Was this an attempt to coerce the pup into sleeping too? His brother had always been pretty clingy when he was sleeping. Jove let himself stay limp like a huggable little rag doll, if that was the case he would just wait for Ren to fall asleep again and extricate himself afterwards.

But it seemed like that was not the case, Ren seemed to be maintaining both the enthusiasm and the wakefulness. So Jove did as he was told.

Once he had parked himself in the requested location, the little pup looked up at his brother with ears perked, and head tilted. It was good news, right?

Jove's head tilted first one way, and then the other. Ren had graduated? He had passed his final exams? The pup's tail began to wag, and for once he hugged his brother back. Like a congratulations. One-time free hug. Because Ren was no longer a highschool student.

The little pup pulled back and looked up at the gryphon, finding it almost hard to believe he was no longer a highschool student. It didn't look like anything had changed. Did this mean Ren was all grown up? What would he do now?

A... A house? He wasn't going to live here on campus anymore?

Jove didn't know what he expected, this whole dorm living had to come to an end eventually. But after all this time, he never expected it would feel like such a shock. He nodded in a slightly stunned manner.

If there was one thing you could say about the little ghost, it was that he was very sensitive to his brother's moods. And he couldn't let Ren feel nervous. A new house was a really big thing, it was a place his brother could really call his own. A real home, even better than where he had come from. The gryphon needed to feel pleased and proud of his accomplishments!

Jove nodded more firmly, no longer looking quite as shellshocked as he had a minute ago. Did Ren think he wouldn't come see it? That was completely ridiculous.

Mission compl- Hey! As the pup was pulled up into the air, he could only hope Ren didn't mean to take him to the house tucked under one arm like a piece of luggage! There was absolutely no fighting with the gryphon once he got scooped up.

But his wishes were soon granted, and felt the ground under his feet again. With a huff he brushed off his jacket, as though saying "That's much better." Then he did something that was normally out of the question. He reached over and took Ren's hand. If his brother were left to walk about all nervous-like who knows what trouble he would get himself into.

With one more tail wag, Jove looked up at the gryphon as though saying "Okay, lead on!"
