Marrikus gave a soft chuff as he uncurled himself from his nested position. There was a chill in the air this day, clearly hinting at the onset of winter. The gunshot wound he had suffered some years back ached now, due to the weather. He gave a soft grumble as he pushed himself to tired paws. He would need to go out and hunt soon. He had been without food for far too long.
After the first frost had come he had stopped hunting for a bit. While Kinko had made sure his wound had healed well it still stung from time to time. It was a bone deep throbbing that would flare up every winter. Usually the harpy hunted for them, but with the loss of his precious bird. Marrikus growled low in his chest and roughly shoved himself to his feet and out. Ignoring the way his haunch screamed in pain at the action.
The white wolf stuck his nose to the ground and growled. He would find something small to eat, perhaps a rabbit. Then he would return home, back to his sulking and hiding. How he wished he could just hibernate through winter. It would be easier on him, of that he was sure. He shook himself off as he wander out into the cool day, hopefully this wouldn’t take too long.
