Another night, another task of energy gathering, though it seemed that the pickings were painfully bare. With the whole dark doppelganger fiasco going on, it made civilians less and less likely to step outside, and though the number of reporting of these dark shadows growing less and less frequent, it still made a lasting impact. Troublesome for two Negaverse agents who scoured the streets for some energy to obtain, and one of them was making his misfortune of their poor hunting conditions known, in a fashion that was true to only the individual named Captain Buddingtonite.

"It would figure. The first time in weeks I decide to hit the streets, the herds move on. A few shadow figures wearing their faces try to kill them and they're too chicken to hit the streets anymore." Buddingtonite whined. Not the dignified kind of whining either, nor the type that tried to hide his displeasure behind a kind smile and a wave of sarcasm. Normally he would at least try to find some humor in his predicament, but tonight he simply wasn't in the mood, and with Captain Serpentine nearby, what was the point? He'd no doubt tell him to be quiet when he went too far and in which case Buddingtonite would have been willing to oblige to his request, depending on how violet or threatening it might have been. But until then, he wanted all of Destiny City to know of his dismay. "This is extremely inconvenient... I mean, do they have any idea how much trouble we'd be in if we didn't make our quota? Not sure about how Zinkenite deals with failure, but I have a feeling Apatite would thoroughly enjoy strapping me down to a chair and forcing me to watch the entire Twilight Saga from beginning to end..."

He quivered at the mere thought of such a punishment, and though he was carrying on in his prattle, he kept his senses on alert. While there may not have been as much civilians around to siphon energy from, there was always the matter of his shade, or Serpentine's, or even the actual enemy lurking around, and Buddingtonite had no desire to raise his arms to fight this evening. His busted hand and his state of mind simply wouldn't allow for it...

Captain Serpentine considered the fact that the two of them were out scrounging for energy to gather a grand success, akin to the types of feats for which others won Academy Awards or the Nobel Prize. Getting Buddingtonite to do anything had been a difficult task of late, so when the ginger had asked his partner if he was up for hunting, the florist immediately agreed. Even the whining, ear-grinding as it ever was, was an improvement over the sour silence that his friend had previously been exuding. He let his partner chatter, nodding here and there to show that he was listening.

His eyes watched the streets carefully for any sign of movement other than their own. Thus far, he saw nothing. Even the easiest of hunting spots, dive bars and hang outs for the homeless, were strangely empty. Yes, the Shades had certainly made their lives more difficult. He flicked his whip idly against the pavement, snorting at his partner's description of punishment. He was not impressed with Apatite, though they had never met, due to Buddingtonite's discussions of her.

Then he felt a familar tingle and jerked his head up, rainbow hair falling out of his eyes as he peered into the dark. "Buddy. Senshi?"

Sirius was out and about, she had been slowly getting in a routine in the same few areas. Today she was in her favourite place, crouched on top of a building. The auras of two negas were heading in her direction and so she was on alert, she had thought of leaving the area but she wasn't really bothered if she had to fight her way out.

Then she saw someone she recognised and couldn't help but smile, however he was with someone she did not know and so she stayed in her safe spot and watched. They seemed distracted at least for a while, she then noticed one of them jerk his head up and so she tensed slightly. She was ready to do a runner if need be.

Buddingtonite could have gone on all night with his little tirade and the only thing he'd have to show for it was a dry mouth and exhaustion, had Serpentine not directed his attention to the familiar twinge of a nearby Order aura. Like Serpentine, he could sense that it was that of a Senshi, and it was enough to silence the captain's rambling, if only for a short while.

Like his partner, he summoned his weapon and stood at attention, stepping closer and closer to Serpentine as he muttered below his breath. "Oh, but senshi still venture out despite the danger. Of course! Can't make things easy for us."

Once he steadied his nerves and the hand that held his boomerang wasn't shaking so profusely, Buddingtonite called out to the nearby senshi, knowing her to be nearby but unable to pinpoint his or her exact location, nor what intention he or she held in their heart. "Alright, we know you're out there... lurking, just out of sight. Show yourself now and I'm sure my friend and I can settle this matter peacefully."

He knew it wouldn't be what Serpentine wanted, but Buddingtonite was willing to offer a chance to their possible assailant, should he either recognize them or meant no harm. In which case, he'd be glad to allow his friend to have all the glory, as he gave Serpentine a silent nod. He knew what to do...

The golden glare that Buddingtonite recieved was incredulous. Allow a Senshi to come out, unharmed? Avoid a fight? That was not the way of a member of the Spec-Ops branch... but his ginger friend was a member of Infilitration. He knew, if only because his fellow Captain complained often enough, that the duties and expectations were quite different. It took time to seduce, to inform, to win over a member of the opposing side.

Without a word, he returned his weapon to its proper place. The whip tucked into his decorative sash, and his arms folded across his chest. This physical action was his way of showing that, at least for now, he would not be attacking the Senshi that remained out there. He nodded towards Buddingtonite to continue. He would serve as back up if necessary. Buddingtonite seemed willing to take point for the first time in a long while... and so his partner hung back. He would not interfere with his friend's role anymore than Buddingtonite would interfere with his.

Unless it proved necessary, of course.

Sirius stayed where she was for a while wondering how many senshi's in their right mind would come out of their hiding place to two negas, whether they put their weapons away or not. However she knew it meant they weren't going to attack and there was a small part of her that trusted Buddingtonite and so she moved along the building she was on and sat with her legs dangling off the edge of the building. She could be seen obviously now but didn't say anything, she just looked at the strange nega who she didn't know.

"Starting to think you are stalking me." She eventually said turning her gaze to Buddingtonite. "I don't know whether I should be flattered or not?" She smiled and jumped down. She trusted him to keep the strange nega under control and worse case scenario, she knew how to look after herself.

"Any reason for the friend though?" She looked slightly suspicious but smiled again. She wasn't completely relaxed but she was more then she probably should have been around two negas!

He understood that look all too well, and he countered it with a wink. Buddingtonite had a good feeling about this and was willing to throw his chips in and take the risk, knowing full well that if things went sour, he could at least count on Serpentine to pull the both of them to safety. He was grateful that his friend was willing to humor him, if only for a little while, and that alone gave the red head a reason to relax.

Another reason, of course, was the Senshi herself, and nothing could stop the grin from lighting his features as he followed that voice and looked up towards a familiar face. Seeing that it was a friendly presence among them, Buddingtonite was quick to drop his guard, despite knowing that the same couldn't be said for Serpentine. He flashed his friend a 'I got this' expression, before addressing Sirius. "Nonsense, though could you blame me if I was? I'm nothing more than a magpie- hopping around from place to place until something interesting catches my beady little eye."

He was pleased to see her join them on the ground, sensing her caution but not holding it against her in the least. After all, she was walking into what could have been a poor situation for her and he figured the fact that she was willing to approach them was definitely a good sign. When directly questioned, Buddingtonite was more than happy to introduce the two, wrapping an arm around Serpentine's broad shoulders in a manner which he could easily keep him at bay, should it be necessary. "Take no offense- we're actually suppose to travel in pairs these days, though few follow such orders. Forgive me for not introducing him. This is my dear friend, Captain Serpentine of the Spec-Ops branch. Do not be alarmed by his glowering state- that's just how he normally is. Serpentine, this is Super Sirius, of the White Moon Court. Say hello, Serpentine."

Then he whispered to him, softly and with a hint of playfulness. "And be nice, please?"

Serpentine's eyes followed the Senshi as she moved, first to dangle her feet from the edge of the building, and then traveling down to speak with his partner. Obviously, they knew each other, so this project must have been one upon which Buddingtonite had been working for some time. She expressed understandable concerns, but he was rather impressed that she had the courage to come down at all. She had an interesting look - the fur especially caught his eye.

All the same, he was obviously uncomfortable with the situation and made no effort to hide it. Even under the familiar hug of his shoulder could not make him totally relax. However, he would never knowingly sabotage his partner's work. The green-and-gold clad captain gave a quick, stiff bow - there was no way he was going to offer a White Moon Senshi his hand. Still, he knew it was expected that he say something so he struck with trying to get information, "Sirius. The Dog Star?"

Astronomy was not exactly his strong suit, but he was pretty sure that was correct. Maybe she would give away more information that could be useful to Buddingtonite through confirming it. If not, then at least it was not an agressive question. He was trying his very best, but "nice" was not his normal state.

It would be much, much easier to be nice, though, if she were not the enemy. But that was his partner's department, not his.

Sirius smiled as Buddingtonite spoke, he had a charming way about him and she really did like to be around him. It was a feeling she was sure one day she would regret and it was bound to get her in trouble but she felt like they could get along and with how lonely she had been, it meant a lot to her, just from that first encounter.

"Spec ops, aren't they the dangerous ones? At least they sound it..." She eyed up his partner again and shrugged, he couldn't be any more dangerous then the rest of them. He did of course then find his voice.

"Yep, thats me. Sirius, senshi of canines. Woof!" Why she felt so flirty she wasn't sure but she was going with it. After all not really socialising and then being in the presence of two guys was a little unexpected for her. She had missed company and didn't seem too bothered whether company now was the 'enemy' or not, if they got along then surely that was all okay right? There was nothing wrong with friends.... right?

Buddingtonite was pleased that his partner and friend seemed to be willing to play along, and sometimes, that's all a man could ask for. He himself had played wing man before and knew that it couldn't have been an easy task for one such as Serpentine to take up a role, but the fact that he wasn't quick to strike Sirius and blow whatever chance they might have, was good enough for him. It gave him the warm and fuzzy feeling, as well as relief, to know that he wouldn't have to resort to fighting this night.

"Dangerous but only to our enemies that seek to do harm to either ourselves or the civilians we're vowed to protect," Buddingtonite said, answering for Serpentine, grateful for his compliance but ever weary that he could not control whatever was on his mind and what may come out of his mouth. Better to cut him off entirely or resort to cleaning the mess, but Serpentine was efficient and taciturn, which made Buddingtonite's task all the easier. "They're the ones that put themselves in harm's way whenever it's deemed necessary, to do what the rest of us screamish ones are too afraid to do. They can always be relied upon, isn't that right, Serpentine?"

He flashed his friend a wink, before once again turning to the Senshi of Canines, unable to resist his smile from being seen as his mind wandered to his beloved hound at home. "So, what brings you out here tonight? Anything important, or just looking for some company to roll with?"

Sirius. Senshi of Canines--also known as? Dogs. Although wolves and others might fit in that broad area... Gwen would know for sure. Again, Serpentine was much more attuned to flora than to fauna. He was not, however, immune to flirting... he simply did not know what to do with it.

Flirt with a Senshi? No. Never. Not even for his best friend. Flirt with a girl? He... never had before, for obvious reasons. He shot his partner a look. He was willing to act as support, was trying his hardest not to screw up the Infiltrator's work but...what was he supposed to do about this? The wink was not all together comforting.

"We are," Serpentine agreed, both with Sirius and Buddingtonite's statements, regarding Spec-Ops and its role. Then, he added for the Senshi's benefit, "You may remain; I will not harm you." At least, not this night, not when his partner was trying to win her over. Now, if the girl was looking for company, then his more outgoing partner could provide it in spades. But if she was worried because of his role as a Spec-Ops office, then that fear could be alleviated.

He just hoped the awkward flirting stopped. Or at least, contained itself between the other two and not involve him.

It would never occur to Sirius that one of the nega's here might be gay and find flirting a little uncomfortable, it was just something that wouldn't fit together in her brain.

"Oh don't worry, I'm not scared. I could easily contain you both if needed without even moving." She smiled as she spoke. She wasn't scared or even nervous if it were the two of them, she was pretty sure Buddingtonite was safe and his friend well, it was only one.

"So basically they are the ones to do the dirty jobs that everyone doesn't like, kind of like toilet cleaners..." probably not the best thing to try and make sense but hey who wanted to be a toilet cleaner? Not her that was for sure.

"I was hanging. I find hanging on buildings always seems to bring someone along, twice now though it has been you. I really do think you are stalking me..."

It was impossible not to see just how uncomfortable Serpentine had become from such a small act, and it was an even harder feat for Buddingtonite to not openly tease his friend for it. Considering how often Buddingtonite flirted with him, constantly and blatantly obvious too, he figured that he'd be well accustomed to the playful wink that Sirius had to offer, and yet what was Serpentine if not full of surprises? In response to Serpentine's look, he gave a shrug before patting him on the shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze as he addressed both of them. "Now, now, that's not nice. Flirting while there's a perfectly willing standing right here… you must forgive him, Sirius, but my friend is a tough one to crack when it comes to the playful, lovey-dovey emotions. I, however, thrive in it."

Part of him wanted to be alarmed at the mention of her threat, but he thought he held it together fairly well. He dared not openly mock her in her abilities as a senshi, given what she revealed about herself and the Blood Moon Court in their last encounter, so he approached the matter with a more respectful approach. "And I'm certain that you could, but I guarantee it will not be necessary this evening, or any other, so long as there's hope for continued civility between us. As for their duties, you could say that…"

If one equated Destiny City as a toilet and the White Moon Court to be what was clogging the cesspool, then perhaps the term 'toilet cleaner' wasn't too far fetched a comparison for men like Serpentine. He so wanted desperately to share this with both of them, but he kept it in, making a mental note to at least tell Serpentine on their way out of things went along smoothly. "And come now, Sirius, I would never stooped so low as to stalk, especially not a singular target. Perhaps we're simply patrolling the same streets and our meetings are merely happenstance? Though if I was stalking anyone, I figured you'd be the one."

He then looked to Serpentine, tilting his head and flashing him an almost pleading look. "Don't you think?"

Serpentine was staring directly ahead, trying his very best not to react to the comment about being a toilet cleaner. On the one hand, it angered him, a small spark appearing in his gaze. He had been working odd jobs his entire life, but he had never been reduced to... a toilet cleaner. And even if he had been, then it was nothing to be looked down upon if it kept food on the table. On the other hand... no, there was no on the other hand. His thoughts shot into his voice, "It would be unnecessary, if not for your kind."

The quieter Captain caught the look thrown at him and silenced himself... but he was not exactly sure what Buddingtonite wanted him to do. The Senshi seemed far more interested in his ginger partner than in him - and the boomerang wielding Captain was the only one with true training and experience in trying to sweet talk the enemy. "You seem strong. Confident. Desirable assets, even in a Senshi," Serpentine finally said. He did not know if it was the right thing to say, but he was fairly certain that his statements could not hurt his partner's work. It was certainly less insulting than the comparison made about him. "Potentially useful, if misguided. Worthy of interest."

Flattery was not his strong suit, so he stuck only to the traits he had seen demonstrated thus far. No, he could not resist sticking in a jab against the White Moon (and Senshi in general) in his statements. He might also be coming on a little a strong in terms of the potential for her to change sides - he lacked Buddingtonite's subtle touch. But he said it without the venom that had previously tainted his tone. Maybe he had done more harm than good in trying to offer support. All the same, the haughty Captain kept is head held high. He had done his best.

Sirius smiled, "Is that what the negaverse does to their clean up crew? Remove their emotions? Tanzanite never seemed to have much in the way of emotions, especially when she randomly grew wings, that wasn't a good day..." She shuddered slightly, that had been a really bad day.

"Anyway... hate to say it to you but 'my kind' does very little. There are very few of 'my kind' left now. Ares took most of them with her." Sirius did not see herself as one of the usual white moon court, she just couldn't bond with them or sympathise with them. It wasn't just the negaverse that had disliked the BMC, many senshi had too and so Sirius was not really with the 'in crew' as it were. Her identity was still the BMC even if they did not exist any more.

Sirius couldn't help but smile, Buddingtonite really was quite the charmer and she was relaxing more by the second around him. "Now I wish you were stalking me!" She laughed a little and wondered just how awkward Serpentine was feeling.
