There has been a lot of speculation about a new season of SAO called Gun Gale Online(GGO). I started this to clear any confusion and bring new news.
First off, there has been NO CONFIRMATION on a new season of SAO, that is just a rumor that will hopefully come true in the near future. Second, there WILL be more content in SAO, but it's not a new season(yet). On December 31, 2013 there will be a release of Sword Art Online Extra Edition, which will re-cap all the episodes from SAO and ALO, but with some new scenes and content. Recently rumors have spread that the new season will be announced after the Extra Edition, but again this is just speculation. At the Boston Anime convention earlier this year, youtuber "Codeprovider" asked both the producer and director if there will be a new season in which they both replied that they would "want to make a new season, but both are busy at the moment with other tv shows". Ugh. I'm looking forward to this new extra edition for SAO.
I felt that the "second season" needed more exploration of the new game instead of just solely focusing on LET'S GO SAVE ASUNA and SISTER COMPLEX (That sister complex was probably not one of the main parts of the "second season" but it was for me lols.) because I was really interested in those new classes they had but unfortunately they didn't get to explain in dept about all of them qq.

Yeah that class that Keiko is representing omfg who doesn't like nekos or people with anime ears??? Super kawaiiiiiii.
Judging from their success from the first season of SAO, I think they should be able to make a second season, but gosh who knows when they're going to make/release it because they're already making an extra footage for SAO.
